Information on how the Grand Imperium of Risban operates...
Founding of the present Empire of Risban: November 9th, 1705
Founder: Multiple families. First emperor was Julius Castor Dolohov.

The Imperial Government is huge and somewhat corrupt. It is ruled by a dictator (not a tyrant, however), who grants the populace some civil rights. The government is pro-business and very good at making money. Taxes are not too high on the citizens, and the economy is fighteningly strong.
The Grand Imperium of Risban focuses the majority of its funding on Law and Order, though spends a lot on Defence and Commerce as well.
The pride of Risban's military is its navy. It is also proud of its intelligence agency, the Prometheus Agency.

The Emperor of Risban is the supreme and total master of the nation. His word is law. He is commander-in-chief and head of state. Once one becomes the emperor, one holds the dictatorial powers for life, and passes them on to one's heir.

The young Grand Admiral Count Robinson Antares Scorpius, the senior advisor of the Imperial Navy and a member of Parliament, led a succesful coup d'etat against Graffia, capturing him. The Graffia Loyalist Party launched attacks on the new regime's supporters, but were instantly pushed back. They attempted to leave Risban via ocean, but passed too close to the Fiefdom of Nemh's borders and were destroyed. Newly-crowned Emperor Scorpius publicly executed Graffia and his top supporters, securing his place as Emperor....
The Emperor usually makes speeches and announcements himself, but has recently a Press Secretary has been used for such things. The Emperor maintains an Advisory Council, made up of his most trusted and highest-ranking officials.
Only once in Imperial History has a woman held the position of Empress. Kiara Kasa Courtney obtained the role of empress when her husband, Icarus Jenson Dolohov, died and Parliament allowed her to become such until her son was old enough. Apart from the fourteen years in which she ruled, the Empire has always been commanded by a male.
The Imperial Lictors, high guards of the Imperium, are responsible for protecting the Emperor, Members of Parliament, and Imperial Government Structures. They are highly trained and highly loyal.
The Imperial Parliament
The Imperial Parliament is made up mostly of aristocrats. They help manage day-to-day affairs of Risban and present the Emperor with legislation to pass. Under Emperor Scorpius' reign, the Parliament was split into the House of Aristocracy and the Imperial Senate. Imperial Senators are elected by the people--the first time in Imperial history that democracy let itself become known in the Imperium.
Parliament itself is led by a High Chancellor. The Senate is led by a Consul, and a Plebicola (Speaker) serves as a second-in-command The House of Aristocracy by a Chiliarches.

Apart from aristocrats and senators, Parliament is made up of the Imperial High Ministers, the Imperial Magistrates, the Imperial Praetors, and the High Imperator of the Courts....

Imperial Magistrates: In charge of Law and Order, the Magistrates are generally powerful. There are fifty magistrates.
