Having been the owner of several storefronts (most of which failed), I have decided to ask all of YOU in the nationstates world what you would all like to see in storefronts. What products you like to see, either being ancient, modern or future tech. Do you prefer having a storefront here on the forums or linked to an offsite website? Just post your ideas, problems, quiffs, anything.

This information will hopefully be used for in creating the ultimate user-friendly storefront available to nations.

Personally, I prefer off site shops. All I want is functionality out of a shop, I don't need graphics, art, anything. Just information, tables, the like showing exactly what I'm buying, the cost, and a link back to the NS thread to make my purchases.


Then again my storefronts fail so I'm probably completely off on this.

If your looking for an offsite place to set up shop, I would suggest the IM

If not, my basic suggestions are:
Detailed stats
Original equipment
Lots of pictures (Link form if you have a slow connection, or are too lazy to use the [img] tags)
BUMPS, persist and ye shall sell!

Other than that...my stores tend to fail horribly, I end up making more posts than everybody else combined just to keep it on the first page.
I imagine you know the feeling of waking up in the morning, logging onto NS, doing an Ego Search, and finding a big ugly '0 Responses' next to your topics >_<

Storefronts are useless, in my opinion. What's much more preferable is doing something that will profit you - as there's but negligible profit from storefronts, it's not worth your time unless it's your own unique tech, and even the only purpose developing your technology is so that you will have Uber stuff with which to pawn others in war. If you choose to sell it, then make a storefront, but it won't 'fail' just because nobody buys in it for an eternity.

If you really want to run a storefront though, do it at the IM.

*points at the storefront in my sig* I don't really run that, I just have a link to it so if anyone buys from it, I'll know. By 'run' I mean actively bump and promote it.
