The results for the general election in King Django III are being counted this minute. The main contenders were:
The King Django Nationalist Party (KDNP) - A right-wing nationalistic party that had been gaining support since Django III joined the UN. Their popular policies include expanding the defence budget and drastically cutting immigration. Expected to win 3%of the vote.
The Conservative Party of King Django - A centre-right mainstream party that has been losing support over the past few weeks, as it is viewed as too old fashioned. Popular policies include tax cuts and law and order. Expected to win 28% of the vote. [currently in power]
The Labour Union Coalition (LUC) - A centre-left mainstream party whose support base has stayed the same. Popular policies include greater integration in the UN and education. Expected to win 39% of the vote.
The Socialist Worker's Alliance (SWAN) - A far left party whose support has increased ten-fold over the past year. Seen as a strong contender for the first time in the party's 45 year history. Popular policies include drastically expanding workers rights and abolition of the Monarch. Expected to win 21% of the vote, amongst the working classes.
The Imperial Party - A centre right-wing party who believe whole hartedly in retaining King Djano's empire, and defending the soveign. Support from members of the Royal household, as well as many policemen, has increased their support. Expected to win 9% of the vote.
