Earth 00110001

Strange name? Read on and all should become clear.

NationStates, at the time I began writing this, holds 124,507 nations in 15,229 regions. The Earth in reality has less than 300 nations in about 100 regions.

Therefore there will be mutiple claims. This has allways been a promblem and has lately been dealt with by the creation of the Multi-Earth threads. This is an interesting solution. One which I am happy to explain to you:

FROM THE EARTH II REVITILIZATION THREAD:

"What originally began as a second Earth, Earth II was meant for those who did not get a chance to claim land on Earth I to stake their claim and actually be able to have a place to call home. It was an instant hit with well over forty members joining it within days, many claiming sizable chunks of land."

This is a very true statement. That is why that in Earth 00110001, there is going to be a policy that has long worked in place.

It is, simply put, the act of creating infinate universe inside the universe, so that those without, may share with those with.

My goal with Earth 00110001 is simple: to make the broadest RPing universe I can. This cause has been underway for some time and I now feel it is appropriate to announce Earth Earth 00110001 to the rest of you, even though most know of it allready.

There are serious problems with Earth 00110001, though. Be forewarned. Earth 00110001 is overpopulated with overpopulated nations. Alliances are gigantic and too large to do anything. It is overun daily with new recruits. Earth 00110001 is not a paradise. But many nations till enjoy it.

Members of Earth 00110001 are numerous. Here is but a smattering of the roster:

And nearly countless others are allready members.

How did I get Earth 00110001 to have such names?

Because Earth 00110001 is an opt out Earth. You must leave Earth 00110001 for one of the other Earths to not be a part. Some will say that I can't do that and I'm not allowed to control what Earth they are on...

But those that know binary will be able to tell you different. You see... 00110001 is the binary translation of 1.

Why did I make this thread? Because I just wished to point out the stupidity of the idea of seperate Earths, when we have something called the Multi-Verse. The Omni-Verse. Whatever you call it, it has worked since November 2002.

There are problems... but making 12 extra Earths? That's a bit excessive.

That was my point. It was alot of effort to point out a flaw that has already been pointed out countless times before.

Well, I COULD have just said what the rest said.

But I prefer finesse and satire. So excuse me for hearkening back to the days when such things were appreciated.

It's not that I don't appreciate the subtle humor of the thing, it's just that we've all seen the same idea posted in so many various ways over the past few months that it's losing it's effect, no matter how masterful the display. I agree with your point though. The whole purpose of NS was to be able to exist in a new universe free from the constraints of real world geography and national culture so as to be able to create a unique state. It seems however that we're so grounded in our surroundings that even when given such a world, we strive always to make it compute in terms of Earth.
