The real state of RK Tech (With an OOC message)

OOC: All other Random Kingdom posts regarding technology and the move to a new tech level are now VOID. As far as I care, most of that didn't exist. It was a bit of a godmod (and yes, I can't say that I've never godmoded in my NS life - I have, especially in the first few days, especially in the probably-now-infamous war between RK and USN). No genetic discoveries etc. From now on, I'll RP Random Kingdom's technological growth in line with the NS clock, other modern tech leftist nations, and sensible values and variables. This thread will contain more subtle, realistic developments, no arcologies springing up in a rush to get to Postmodern Age/ Modern+1 etc.

RANDOM KINGDOM, 12:48 UTC, Jan 4 2000 RCE (2005 CE): Riots have broken out in the state unions of Random Kingdom as the Collective of State Unions (CSU), the RK governing body, has started an aggregate program of siphoning cash from all areas of the Random Kingdom budget to the Supreme Institute for scientific purposes.

A flat tax (5%) on all budgets has been placed despite outrage from the service unions of Random Kingdom. A spokesperson for the Random Kingdom Health Service claimed the move was "outrageous, uncalled for and totally out of character for our benevolent government."

However, this so-called "information tax" on the Administration budget alone will raise over ยง93,908,129,639 ($34,769,199,022) for the institutes.

Over 10 years the information tax, according to optimistic RK scientists, will be sufficient to fund "a small-scale space project".
