Another Step Towards Insanity...

Dracun imperium
08-02-2005, 23:08
Desciver sat in his throne room. Things had been going just as he had planned. The invasion of Zanzilk was coming along nicely, the White Clan has been all but eliminated, the Senate no longer alive and corrupt, and all traitors & "heretics" have been executed. But yet there were a few more steps needed, a few more steps needed to go over the edge. Since his accession he had built over 200 gas chambers in Military Zone Alpha for unknown purposes.

Now though a clan would revolt against him just as he had planned and they would be executed in such a brutal way the last bit of struggle will be gone from the Dracun's and he would have complete control finally, though legally he already did. It was not complete control though. People still thought of revolt, he would now silence them now and forever.

Three days ago Desciver had declared complete authority and executed anyone who might revolt. He now planned the Black Dragon Clan, the clan most famous, and which he and his clan (the Blue Clan) despised. They had always led them through prosperity and the leaders of the Blue Clan had been plotting for generations on how to rid them of their greatest rivals. With Desciver's accession to the throne their dreams came into play.

Now the Black Dragon Clan would revolt anytime soon and he would use biological weapons and rid himself and [b]his nation[/b of these fouls pests.
----
4 days later
The revolt came, just as Desciver expected though not in such force. Over 400,000 Black Dragon Clansmen were armed revolting. They had taken Industry Zone, but it was in the process of being retaken and were now working on taking the Imperial Zone itself!

Desciver had ordered troops to kill anything that carried a gun and the Imperial Zone became a warzone. Screams and explosions were everywhere as the pain of the dying soon became evident. Tanks blasted entire buildings to the ground to rid the battle of a few rebels. Helicopters flew over the city assaulting any "possible insurgents."

Soon though it ended when the Clan Leader was found and put on hostage. Without a clan leader the clan would have eventually disbanded after a generation of power struggles that usually followed a clan's leaders death.

The guns shots stopped ringing and the screams stopped screaming. It seemed as if Dracun had been frozen in time for that very moment...

The next day
Hundreds of Thousands of Black Dragon Clansmen, women and even children were rounded up. The entire clan valued well over 100 million the largest of the Dracun Clans. They would be taken to the Military Zone Alpha...when the punishment would commence. Planes, trains and trucks traveled to the zone. When they arrived one by one they were pushed into a chamber and a gas slowly leaked into the chamber quickly killing them. People were just shoved in before the chambers could be cleaned up and the process continued. Within one day over 800,000 members of the Black Dragon Clan had been executed. A dark time had approached Dracun and Desciver would be leading them into an eclipse like no other.

ooc:ONE DAY?It took the highly efficient Nazi Germans years to kill ten million. You can kill 3 million in one day. How the hell does that work?
Dracun imperium
08-02-2005, 23:58
OOC:Simple, we had the gas chamber prepared and the people were already on there way to the chambers. They were quickly killed and executed, Nazi Germany, made them work, then kill them. We however are just killing them as soon as they arrive. But your complaints are perfectly understandable.
But your right the numbers are quite high...Let me bring it down to 800,000.

IC: More and more Clansmen were being taken to the Alpha Zone for there deaths. Rumors were quickly spread of what awaited them and many choose to fight instead or commit suicide. The Deaths continued to build. More and more and by the end of the week another 200,000 were killed. The much smaller amount due to the needed burning of the bodies. With the overflow of incoming "traitors" massive camps were quickly set up to contain them. The conditions however were horrible. But war was spreading across Dracun. Not even the Dracun combined law keeping forces, and armed forces could outmatch the number of Black Dragon Clansmen.

Desciver sat in command room with his generals. They all were now terrified of him not being able to compensate the Insanity of the Overlord.
"Give me a status report now!" He shouted, the menace evident.

"Sir uprisings are occurring everywhere....even from other clans...ones who we thought were loyal and-"

"Shut up!" he screamed, "They will suffer the same deaths then!"

"My lord not even every peacekeeping unit we don't outnumber them!"

"I said shut up! Guards kill him!"

The man's fear shown in his face as 4 guards lurched forward and began to brutally beat the former general.

"The invasion of Zanzilk continues along as planned?" Desciver hissed.

"Only because they have no idea what's going on back here!"

"So you share the same attitude as the one dead?!" He yelled.

"No..n-"

"Guards him aswell!" Desciver screamed his anger unmatched and a dark and evil fire burned in his eyes.

The guards move forward and killed him as well.

"All of you out of my sight!" He said flipping the table over.

They ran out o the room terrified. Desciver turned to the window. More and more status reports were coming in, reporting things that shouldn't be part of the plan.

No! I refuse to allow things to fall apart! Not after every careful detail! He screamed in his mind...But even as he though those thoughts fires spread across Dracun. His cunning, and brutality had brought his undoing and now Dracun was in the midst of a civil war like no other

All of Dracun was now ablaze. Revolting, looting, and killing everyone. The only zone not in the fighting was The Food Production Zone. People wept in the streets for Dracun, and it's former glory. Everyone began to realize that Desciver had betrayed them and strung them along. People were frightened to put it simple. Fires rose from entire zones. Desciver sat in his throne amazed... shocked even that his entire plan could fall apart so quickly.

What did I do wrong....what went wrong He fell on his knees and weeped. Not for Dracun, not for the people dying, but for himself and his plans. He got ahold of himself and rose. He decided he would undo everything so he could not be convicted. He planned...on bringing all of Dracun with him...somehing so evil...and disturbing only he could think of. He was going to have a nuclear holocaust unlike one any seen.

In the Pacific:
On his fourth mission in twelve hours, Colonel Weathers was a very tired man. But so was the enemy, and he knew he could last longer than they. Bastards, he thought. He flew toward the Dracun Fleet, and loosed two more missiles at a frigate. Hits, both of them. He veered away to avoid fire as the ship began to list, and take water. The Royal Navy had moved closer to it's Dracun counterpart over the duration of the battle, and was now close enough for the surface ships to engage one another. Shells were launched from the larger cruisers and battleships, and Harpoon anti-ship missiles flew in every direction. Then Weathers saw something that partially relieved the fatigue.

"Erikson, this is Colonel Weathers," he radioed the fleet's command ship. "They're retreating! They're fleeing! We drove them off," he said, to a chorus of cheers on the other end. Indeed, across the mile-wide stretch of ocean, the ships of the Dracun were falling back, running.

The Admiral smiled. We did it, he said to himself, we really did it. "Mr. Andrews, what are our losses?"

"Don't know for sure, sir, but they bloodied us something awful. Right now, we know that they sent ten ships to the bottom, and badly damaged another seven. All in all, about twenty-eight percent of the fleet is out of commission. That's just ships, though. We won't know total human casualties for at least another week. Wait, another report coming in. We hit them too, sir, and quite hard. Right now we estimate they lost thirty-five percent of their ships, but it could be as much as forty. I think it's safe for us to declare a victory, sir." He smiled, but there was no humor in it. Too many had died for any of these sailors to laugh for a couple of days, at least.

"Well," the Admiral replied, "I guess I better get on the phone with High Command. They'll want to be planning a counter-attack, I imagine."

ooc: Yes we did work it out, I apologize for shortness, but I need to finish a report so I will continue the rest of the post later.

IC: The ships were in full retreat because of one reason, full word had come of what Desciver was doing and it was unthinkable. The ships were ordered to turn around and head back home to end the bloodshed and violence continuing in Dracun. Almost 40% of the fleet had been lost and more were expected to be lost by the new war, the civil war's end.

Desciver rushed down the stairs, his Territorial Guard protecting him from harm. They arived at the elevator and took it up to the secret hangar which conclead a Apache Helicopter Squad. They would take it to Military Zone Alpha where the codes for the launch of over 20 Nuclear missiles would commence and destroy Dracun...and Desciver with it. They boarded it and took off, six Apaches in all. One instantly came under fire and flew into a scy scraper trying to evade the fire. The remaining 5 helicopters flew off.

Desciver looked back at the chaos he had caused and could not believe, that his grand scheme had fallen apart. It still seemed inpossible. He would however settle it. For he knew if he was to survive he would be executed by the international. So this had to be done. Maybe on day the Blue Clan would rise again and their destiny as overlords of the Imperium would be fufilled. But of course there would be no more Dracun. Desciver started to laugh hysterical and some what disturbingly.

"Open a transmision to the international...tell them this. They are to submit to my demands or 2 billion people will be vaporized."

"What are your demands Lord Desciver?" the comm officer asked.

"They will learn soon enough just tell them what I have told you" Desciver ordered.

The 14th, 18th, and 22nd Naval Task Forces speed through the water, as much as warships could "speed." The fastest ship was only capable of thirty or so knots, and so the fleet was moving rather slowly. Slowly, yes, but steady as well. The three NTFs were transporting the near-three hundred thousand strong 23rd Army Group to the Dracun Imperium, as a counterstrike against that nation. They hadn't seen any of the Dracun Navy's vessels in nearly three day's travel, which was odd. There were chaotic reports coming out Dracun and its neighbors, reports of widespread rebellion and revolt against the government of this "Lord Desciever" of theirs. The Royal Army and Royal Marines were nervous, as they were headed into a very unpredictable situation. They may be welcomed as liberators, opposed as invaders, or any other imaginable scenario. Some of the more kind-hearted and idealistic soldiers hoped they would be able to help prevent a nation from destroying itself. Most of the troops, however, could care less as long as they got to kill some of these bastards who'd threatened the Kingdom's allies, and dared to try and attack the homeland.

OOC: Sorry for the short post, but I have to write two papers, and I want Dracun to be able to write something about this, so I'll post again in a little while.

"I'm sorry." The President said after some disbelief. "What did he say?"

The Secretary of State cleared his throat. "Just what I read to you, sir."

THe President got slightly angry. "Well, read it again!"

Garner, a bit nervous, did as he was ordered. "We are to submit to his demands or 2 billion people will be vaporized." The SecState looked up from his papers. "For what we can tell sir, he has twenty missles, all up in what they've designated Military Zone Alpha." An Air Force Flight Sergeant brought up the satillite pictures. "Judging from Deceiver himself, sir, he may be.." The SecState swallowed. "May be planning to nuke his own country. All of it."

The SecDef spoke put. "Sir, I must remind you that there still are 1100 Triancian citizens in the country. Less than when that last incident started, but still-"

The President cut Wernick off. "And I must remind you, Bob, that there are two billion innocent people at risk as well!" The SecDef nodded, and snapped his fingers at the Flight SGT, who was smart enough to bring up the forces in the region. "The 2nd Expeditionary is still off their waters, and the 9th Task Force is holding at that midpoint."

The President nodded. "Order the ninth to move to the 2nd Expditionary's position. By the end of the day, I want plans on how we can destroy those weapons before he can operate them. Get the Secretary-General of Corennia on the horn, and give him deatails of the current situation. Ask what he wants to do. Get Malkyer on the comm, too, and ask them, plead with them, to hold their forces in place until we can get a handle on this situation."

President Stanton took a deep breath. "And, just so I don't discount the obvious, send a message to the Deceiver. Ask him what his demands are."

Dayan sat in a chair in his room in Celtayoshi House, Belfast. He was in a conference call with his Prime Minister, Zachary Harrison, President Alex Woodruff, and Defense Minister Davis Hanson; they were in the capital. Dayan sighed over the phone as he was read the message. "Right. Zachary, tell them we'll stop the fleet, but don't back down easily. Make sure they understand that the best way for them to help Dracun is to et us get Desciever.

"Yes, sire. I'll have a message drafted immediately."

"Excellent," replied the King. "Davis, tell me, can we fight the Bormans if it comes to that?"

"It depends on the circumstances, sir. Yes, we can repel an invasion. No, we can't take the fight to them. Even if they didn't have an obscene advantage in numbers, with the losses we took fighting the Dracun fleet we can't project force like we used to. In my opinion, a best case scenario is they attack us and we drive them off. We can't rely on our allies for support, either. The Ottomans are still redovering from their civil war, Zanziik has thousands of Dracun soldiers runnning around inside their borders, and we've had no dialogue with Pushka for some months. And I don't think Chronosia could be persuaded to fight against Dracun and Borman, though I doubt they'll fight against us, either."

"So all told, the situation doesn't look good," the King summarized.

"No, sir," Hanson agreed, "No it does not."

By preventing us from taking action, you have condoned such an action, by showing your support for the Dracun leader in his state of obvious insanity. Our fleet will not move back, and at the soonest possible time will advance in order to bring humanitarian relief to the survivors of Desciever's nuclear suicide, if he goes through with it. Defend him with words if you will. It is your signature on the death sentence of the Dracun Imperium, not ours. The Kingdom's conscience is clean.

Communique to Malkyer:

The Federal Kingdom wishes to inform you that it stands with you at this crucial juncture. We currently have a number of our citizens in country, and have been attempt to guarantee their safety ever since Desceiver declared himself a god. We believe that that best way to do this, as undoubatly you do as well, would be to remove Desceiver from power, and elimnate the nuclear threat he poses.

That is why we urge caution and patience in this matter. Although an invasion of the Dracun Imperium must happen at some point, those weapons must be destroyed first, and swiftly, to deny Deceiver the ability to use them on either our respective troops, or his own citizens. Triancia is currently working in conjuction with her allies to create a battle plan that would neutralize Dracun's stockpile, and we would like to hold our actions in concert with your own.

Regards,
Timothy Garner

Commnique to the Borman Empire:

The Federal Kingdom does not think it prudent to discuss our operational plans with you at this time. We can tell you that it will most likely involve destroying Dracun's nuclear threat, and giving aid and support to the insurgency currently inside his country.

The 9th Task Force has been ordered back to the 2nd Expeditonary's postion. This is to prepare for an offensive operation aganist the Dracun Imperium, and is not a move of agression to the Borman Empire. However, they do stand ready to defend themselves in case of any attack, and we must warn you that any attack on Malkyer forces in the region might provoke retalitory strikes.

We feel we have solid evidence that Desciver is nothing more then a genocidal madman, bent on improving only his own position. We hope that the Borman Empire can see this as well, and stand shoulder to shoulder with us to eliminate a threat to his people and the International Community.

Stanton nodded, and stood. "Call a press conference. Let's get this information out in the open."

About three hours later, a graphic appears on the Triancian Global News Network. The anchorperson working at the time start talking for a bit, until the waiting game passes, and President Stanton steps up to the Podium.

"Good day. As many citizens of Triancia may be aware, Triancian forces, chiefly the Royal Triancian Navy and Marine Corps, have been engaged in a terse standoff with the Dracun Imperium and it's allies, over the need to support over one thousand of our citizens in the country.

"I am here to inform the people of Triancia that the Departments of Defense and State have solid proof that Lord Desceiver, the ruler of this nation, has initiated the mass genocide of dissidents in his country through the use of gas chamber. Furthur more, he has implied that if we do not meet his unstated demands, he will kill two billion of his own countryman with nuclear weapons. This would include the Triancian citizens still in the country."

A mumur went up from the press gathered, but Roger talked through it. "I am here today to tell you, and the world, that the Triancian government will not stand for this. We will not stand for this genocide, this wholesale mass murder. It is the intention of Triancian Forces in the region to depose Lord Desciver, and elimiante his ability to commit this genocide. We will do this with the other concerned countries in the region, and we do this for the oppressed peoples of the Dracun Imperium. Thank you." The President turns around, and starts walking back the way we came, trying to tune out the roar of the press and the press secretaries trying to appease them.

Communique to Malkyer, the Borman Empire, and Corennia.

The Triancian Government would like to see a joint effort to determine the future of the Dracun Imperium. A joint peacekeeping mission between all four of our nations would, we think, allay fears that any one nation seeks to make this a war of conquest, however, whatever the response, we must act now to destroy the missles at Desciver's command. We look forward to you response.

At the Dracun Imperium's Capital, the Embassy staff looked like they were having a barbecue. Royal Triancian Marines, and Federal Policemen were up in arms and patrolling, but every person, from the lowest clerk to the Ambassador knew that, while help would come, it would most definitly not come in time.

And at a medium sized, lonely air bases in one of the more vacant provinces of the Federal Kingdom, the residents, if there were any, might have noticed an increase in guard strengh. That was done so that no one else would notice the five sleek shapes come taxiing out of a hanger on to the runway, the five beautiful tributes to modern Aerospace research slowly activting their SCRAM jet engines, and preparing to take off. And in a loud, and awe-inspring display of engine thrust, they all did just that, flying in formation to the sub-orbital level, and all checking their payloads in preperation for ending the Dracun nuclear threat.

Official SECRET Imperial Communique:

To: Malkyer
From: Chancellor Licinius

Watch your tongue you impudent pig, or we shall cut it out. As soon as Desciver is removed from power you will take all your soldiers and citizens out of Dracun, regardless of what Dracun citizens want. Failure to do so will result in the execution of your soldiers and people and probably invasion and conquest of your homeland. Do I make myself clear dog?

OOC: Hope you feel better.

Official Communique to Chancellor Licinius:
Tell me, why do you so fear our presence in the Dracun Imperium? We have already made it clear that our intention is not to conquer. We wish to aid the Dracun people recover from the crimes of Desciever. The Dracun were a great people, and can be so again if only we help them. I urge you to reconsider your demands.

OOC: Thanks, but I got to miss school today so it's all good.

Desciver arrived at the Nuclear Silo Center and moved quickly under heavy guard. They soon arrived at the Control Center and Desciver decided the demands would not be valid any longer. He went through dozens of security measures before he finally arrived at the Central Computer. He opened to the control panel and hesitated.
It's time for the final part of my plan...If I can't rule Dracun No one will!
He entered the codes and the ground shook as if the gods themselves had been angered....

SIR! Sattelite reports missile launches, not sure how many luckily we have ALMDs (Airborne Laser Missile Defense, essentially a big airplane with a chemical laser that shoots down ICBM and SCUD type missiles, in this case I use purpose built twin laser aircraft capable of tracking and destroying up to 6 missiles simultaeneously and has chemical fuel for two hundred missiles worth of laser) in the area and they should be able to disable most of the missiles
(I have four in the area, ideally they can destroy about 800 missiles total, less if the launches are spread out over more than a few thousand square miles)

You do not know Dracun. You only know a people once you have fought them, and we have. We do not trust or believe you and your constant disobedience is not working in your favor. We will not allow you to remain and set up an incorrect gov't, we will remain to set up a correct one.

“Sir! Satellites report missiles have been launched.”

“Damn! We have satellites over their country?”

“Yes sir.”

“HDP and HOP are ready, as well as TEOO defense?”

“Yes sir.”

“Shoot down all the missiles over civilians, starting from highest concentrations to lowest. Then save military and government instillations. Then save buildings and inhabited areas and then the wilderness and such.”

“Firing sir.”

HDP came to life as missiles and lasers shot towards Dracun and the missiles Desciver had fired on himself. An installation sped along the bottom of the ocean, rising as the ground did. It surfaced and its bays opened and released anti-missile weapons. TEOO defense machine (Can’t remember name and don’t have link) came to life as lasers fired towards Dracun missiles. Satellites overhead opened up with lasers and any and all anti-missile weapons.

OOC: All these together have about 99.5% defense in my country. Ex: someone shoots 100 missiles at me, .5 missiles get through. I expect a lower percentage because it’s not home, but it was designed to protect allies as well so I’m expecting at least 80% to be destroyed.

Guns rotated on Maddox class battleships as the entire convoy sailed towards Dracun. With them were about 2,000 transports; and thus 1,000,000 soldiers. Borman was sending the majority of it’s navy so if insult came to blows with Malkyer they would be assured a quick victory. (Spec. # o’ ships in a while.)

OOC: Dracun threatened war on Zanziik, and began moving military forces to invade him. Then, I attacked Dracun's fleet to try and slow him down. So, Dracun decides he's going to invade me, and we have a huge naval battle and both sides take murderous losses. Then Desciever goes crazy and starts killing people, and there's a revolt in his army when they learn he plans a self-inflicted nuclear holocaust. So, I try to invade him to remove Desciever from power, but the Borman Empire stops me with threats of war, and now there's all kinds of craziness going on, because we weren't able to stop Dracun from firing his nuclear missiles at himself.

Dracun, Triancia, or Borman, if I've forgotten anything, please point it out.

The sub-orbital aircraft from Triancia slowly apporched their targets, the Mercury pilots going through their final check list.

"Kinetic rods one through fower, all check."

"Two, check."

"Tree, check."

"Fower, check."

"Fife, check."

The commander of the operation nodded to herself. One down, a few more to go. "Weapons Guidance, all che-"

"Red-tail flight, Redtail-tail flight!" The voice in the commander's ear said, in a tone that screamed urgency. "Abort, repeat, abort, authorization Alpha-Sierra-Tree-Tree-Foxtrot!"

Abort? But they were so close to the IP, the commander thought. Breaking procedure, she responded directly. "Hey, Mike, what in God's name is going on down-"

"Jess, damn it, get out of there! We we're too late! They lauched! And if you don't turn around now your entire flight is gonna get hit with the damn EMP!"

The cold, ominious feeling in her stomach didn't help the matter of reacting quickly, but the years of training, experiance, and a honed system of reflexes did the helping just fine. She pulled the stick on the aircraft hard to the left, moving the sluggishly responding aircraft to the edge of its ability. "Confirmed abort, confirmed abort, all Red-tail hard left. Bearing wun-wun-fower, RTB."

The rest of the pilots followed suit, coming around slowly. All of them were silently cursing the Mercury's design, the one that allowed for high altitude, and high speed, at the expense of the craft handle like a slow double-decker bus. God only knows if they would clear the area in time.

Towards more terresterial affiars, the Triancian fleet off Dracun's coast had had a list of contingency orders for this occasion. The Zeus Air Defense Cruisers scanned the air, firing off missile after missile once they got a track. There priorties were the fleet itself, then the Triancian Embassy, then the civilian area.

The Earl IV's readied themselves too. Five in the fleet had one of their two SLBM's programmed to fire in a way never conceived in design. They'ed be setting the MIRVing warhead on each to it's lowest possible yield, and firing them so that they would intercept Dracun's warhead, becoming like some sort of intercontinal Apocolypse-foreshadowing Shotgun.

It was dangerous. It probably wouldn't work. But, given the alternatives, it had to be done. The key's turned, the button pressed, and five SLBM's streaked out toward the sky to attempt the impluasible.

Triancian Communique:
Malkyer and the Borman Empire

The recent SLBM launches from off the Dracun coast are in an attempt to destroy Dracun's warheads. The destruction of nuclear warheads with other nuclear weapons has been theorized, most prominatly in as the American Safeguard AMB system, but has not been attempted by our country before. Seeing as the alternative is nuclear destruction, we decided to take the risk.

Regards,
Timothy Garner
Triancian Secretary of State

OOC: The Irony, of course, is that this strategy might destroy some of Malkyer's more efficent ABM interceptors.
