"Welcome to the PBC World Service! For the first time ever the Democratic Imperium of Praetonia has begun international broadcasting from satellites around the globe. We hope to report not only on news affecting the Imperium, but news affecting the whole world! For now, however, we will focus on Home News.

"Earlier today elements of the Imperial Guard made landings on beaches in Roach Busters, bringing us in to, according to Praetonian Prime Minister Lucius Agrippa, "The final stages of the war." With triumph, however, comes tragedy, as the first Praetonian casualty caused by enemy fire has been incurred today.

"Captain Mercius Gregorian of the 3rd Battalion / Lupan Legion was vapourised instantly by defending enemy troops. Details are sketchy, but Imperator Publius I has announced that he intends to posthumous Knight the unfortunate Captain.

"In colonial news - our campaigns go well against the Taiwanese agressors in Belgium. The Dumpsterdam came under heavy fire from the Taiwanese fleet, taking heavy casualties. Our valiant forces sailed to the rescue, coming up behind the enemy fleet and knocking out their carrier and several cruisers in a single volley of missiles. Here to speak to us about the Imperium's latest victory is Grand Admiral Sir Lucius Memor. Lucius, good day."

"Thankyou for inviting me onto the programme, Gaius."

"So, tell our viewers what happened."

"Well, our spy satellites tracked the moving firefights between Taiwanese and Dumpsterdam forces for several hours whilst our own fleets moved in to position. While Taiwanese forces were tied up with our allied fleets the mere sixty nine ships of the Imperial Navy deployed to that area moved into position and launched a barrage of missiles, destroying several ships including a large carrier. The twenty Battleaxe missiles..."

"This missile has been talked about in the papers... tell us what it's capable of."

"The Battleaxe was actually designed to counter the Doujin and other Superdreadnaughts and carries a huge warhead, but it is perfectly capable of taking on other targets. The devastation caused by our forces was showing of what happens when advanced anti-battleship missiles hit lightly armoured copies of American ships."

"Thankyou for coming in to talk to us today, that was Grand Admiral Sir Lucius Memor, and all we've got time for. To you the listeners, goodbye."

Sarzonia to broadcast PBC channel

WOODSTOCK (ASP) -- Vice President for Business and Commerce Janis Hedge announced an agreement with Sarzonia's major television providers today that will broadcast the Praetonian Broadcasting Corporation's programming on stations throughout the country.

"This arrangement is one that we think will benefit more than just Praetonian expatriates," Hedge said at a press conference announcing the deal. "Sarzonians have long enjoyed the opportunity to choose among their programme options and this will just be a continuation of that."

"This is a great deal for [the Praetonians]," Sarzonian Broadcasting Corporation Chairman Aaron Hamblen said. "It's a great deal for us, too in that it provides our viewers with a more well-rounded programme schedule. We hope to initiate a similar arrangement once the [Sarzonian News Network] merger gets approved."

The proposal was recently approved by the Communications Oversight Committee and is on Hedge's desk for her sign-off. With Parliament in recess, President Mike Sarzo has granted Hedge the authority to act on the agreement on the government's behalf. Sources familiar with her thinking say "it's only a matter of time," before she approves the merger.

"It's a slam dunk," the source said. "She's just waiting for a chance to breathe with Parliament in recess."
