Premier Dufour sits on the balcony of the Peoples Assembly Building. He looks upon the Mardi Gras parade and then looks as Communist Louisiana’s Red Army follows the civilian floats showing off the might of the empire. As the parade of floats and military units stop in front of the building, he smiles and stands from his chair. A hush falls over the crowds of people celebrating. Premier Dufour clears his throat and begins to talk through the loud speaker

Comrades! Today we all gather to celebrate the beginning of the Lenten season by celebrating one of our oldest traditions of Mardi Gras. Not only do we celebrate because of this, we celebrate because today is the day that the Mighty Empire of Communist Louisiana shows its strength to the world. Under our government’s power, we have gained complete control over many territories of the old United States since its fall in power. Not only have we brought stability to these once rouge territories, but also we have brought freedom and economic might to these once disputed areas.

Today, the Peoples Senate and Congress have unanimously voted on the annexation of all territory lying West of the current borders of Communist Louisiana. With our nations tremendous population growth, we see fit to liberate these lands to allow colonization and growth for the motherland. No more will Communist Louisiana have to use the Gulf of Mexico for International shipping, we shall dominate the West coast of the once United States. Today my comrades, we march west to fulfill our destiny!

OCC: This is NOT a specified region. This is a Semi-Open RP. If you would like to play as rebel groups in the areas that we are planning to annex, please post saying you are interested. I would also like to point out that these areas are not militarily powerful and consist of small rouge warlords always fighting other warlords for land. If you are interested in playing the role of a warlord or something to that extent, leave a post or telegram me. The territories up for annexation are and the nations rping them:

New Mexico (East Lithuania)
Arizona (Nascent)
Utah (Lachenburg)
Nevada (Gyrobot)
California (Jacksonesia)
Washington (Inkana)
Oregon (Tyrandis)
Idaho (Parthia)

My allies of Hillyard once claimed the territories of Washington, Idaho, and Oregon, but his nation does not exist anymore so I am seeing fit to claim these areas also.

Well, I could possibly rp as either Arizona or New Mexico, perferrably as Arizona though. The only thing is that I am not available for the morning and a bit of the afternoon, so I dont know what time everyone will be getting on and submiting their pieces, because if its between 9-2 eastern US I wont be able to participate until later.

But if that is not a problem I have a question or two. First, what type of militaries would we have? Just basic militia with a couple armored units and maybe a plane or two? I know you said it should be kept small but im not really sure on how small you want it kept. But since you said rebels I guess that means just a basic militia type group. Am I correct in this notion.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head Nascent. It will be basic guerrilla warfare on the side of the territories. Plus, since warlords control the territories, I see no problum with fighting among the warlords for more territory and resources.

The equipment used mostly by the groups of "fighters" should be what these types of people would have. Rifles and Shotguns, maybe vehicles with tin plates for extra armor. I want to keep the militias as non-fictional as possible.

Depends what your definition of funding is Brydog. Things like ammo, guns, food supplies, and medications are ok. Also, military advisors would be pretty cool, except to let everyone know who are wanting to support the warlords, if your advisors are captured by Louisianaian Troops, I probably would have them sent to POW camps within Communist Louisiana. I dont think things like heavy duty tanks and aircraft as well as large ships will be out of the question due to the fact that I really do doubt that:

A: they could not afford the operation cost
B: they would not have the technical know-how to run them

A black sedan pulled up into the driveway of a cabin in the deep woods of the Pacific Northwest. Two men stepped out of the vehicle. One of them was Brian Greene, a capitalist resistance leader. He wore a dark blue stocking cap, gray sweatshirt, and blue jeans. To most, it would seem that Brian was an ordinary Civilian, but to the Capitalist Resistance, he was a Major General. Accompanying him was Keith Michaels. Brian's lifelong friend, he had risen through the ranks to become Brian's "Chief-of Staff" in the sense of the term.

Brian knocked on the door. Three fast raps, followed by one loud knock. A man opened the door. Inside the hunting cabin stood 12 other men. This was the core of the Capitalist Fraction of Free Washington.

Brian looked at the men.

"Gentlemen, we have a situation."

"Oh no" Grunted one of the leaders.

"It seems that Communist Louisiana has decided to expand. Washington is one of its intended states." Brian continued

Murmurs filled the room as the men talked this over.

"Furthermore, I have contacted Boris Norayava of the Communist Cell"

"You've gone too far this time Greene!" Shouted Charles Couchenour, a high-ranking resistance leader.

"I know what you all are thinking." Keith Michaels interrupted the out roar. "I felt the same when Brian told me this news; but you don't understand, if we don't want to fall to a larger communist state, we must ally ourselves with our fellow Washingtonians."

"Keith is right" Charles gave in.

Brian smiled a bit, and continued talking.

"I have alerted the border groups. Warren's cell has mobilized, and Francis' and Josef’s are 75% there. The communists are also mobilizing, Spokane is filled with zealous fighters."

"Alright Brian, good job. The rest of you, try and procure a two year ammunition and food supply, we'll deffinatly need it. Also contact outside sources about getting SAMs and Bazookas, anything that will match Louisiana's Air and Armour superiority."

And so it was set. The once-battling communist and capitalist fractions of Washington are now allied, but it is an uneasy alliance

OCC: In the title area is where I am going to psot the missions names and whatnot. As you can see, the overall operation is first. It is followed by a mission and the name of the mission is after it. That is how everything from my operations will be organized in the future. That way, if there are any logistics problums, we can just say something like "Refer to mission insert mission name here" for the information that lead to such and such.

It was an unusually cold evening at Barksdale Airforce base in Shreveport, Louisiana. The skies were a dreary gray as the sun began to set in the West. The sounds of rather large aircraft and their crews fielded the air as 8 C-5A/B Galaxy Cargo planes were on a side tarmac being filled with pro-Communist Louisiana literature and other propaganda as well as small toys and candy with pro-Communist Louisiana poems for the children in the annexed territories

http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/c-5-42-s.jpg

As the items were loaded into the large aircraft, the co-pilot walked up the stairs into the cockpit and nodded to the pilot while giving him a map

Co-Pilot- Here is our map of the drop zones. This should be a pretty easy mission, you know, your basic fly in, drop out, and fly out.

Pilot- I do hope it is easy. I would like to be home for breakfast you know. My wife is making pancakes. If you want, you should come. We have more than enough comrade.

Co-Pilot- I think I am going to take you up on that offer.

As the co-pilot finished the sentence, the 2 loadmasters and 2 flight engineers walked into the cockpit and nodded to the pilot and co-pilot

1st Loadmaster- Were all loaded up and closed up gentlemen.

Pilot- That’s great. Are all systems running and ready for the trip?

1st Flight Engineer- Everything is looking good. The fuel gages are looking good and what not.

Co-Pilot- Were all ready, we just need permission from the tower to proceed.

As they sat and talked, the flight control tower radioed the aircraft

Flight Control- All aircraft are ready to proceed to the runways. Now you guys and gals take care and stay in formation until authorized. Your escorts for the trip outside the controlled territory will meet you over the panhandle of Texas.

The co-pilot nodded to the crew and flipped a series of switches and the pilot began to taxi the plane onto the runway. They made a 180-degree turn towards the West and the plane began to pick up speed as is rolled down the runway. It began to lift off the tarmac as it reached take off speeds

http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/c-5-dfst9303040-s.jpg

Within an hour or so then seven aircraft were accompanied by 14 A-10 Thunderbolt’s. As the aircraft flew over the panhandle of Texas, the C-5A/B Galaxy’s began to split up with their escorts. Before long, each plane and its escorts were out of formation and going on their specified mission

OCC: I am not going to RP each of the 7 aircraft because that would take extremely to long to do. I will RP the aircraft that I did earlier and everyone can just use your imaginations for the others because the others pretty much have the same mission except to different areas. If you do not like it, everyone can bite me.

As the aircraft flew over New Mexico, the co-pilot nudged the pilots arm and pointed to the map.

Co-Pilot- Now that we are in the air, I can brief you. Our drop zone is the ruins of Reno, Nevada. Our estimated time of arrival is in 45 minutes from now which will be 9:13 p.m.

Pilot- That’s a big ten-four comrade. I will have the loadmaster ready the loads for drop at around 8:55 p.m.

The Co-Pilot unbuckled himself to stand. He stretched his arms and walked down the latter to the cargo deck where the rest of the crew were sitting and talking.

Co-Pilot- I need the first parts of the load to be ready for drop at 8:55. We will do a fly over and you are to drop half of the load. We are going to do a U-turn and do another fly over on the south side of the city and drop the rest. The whole drop zone is about 26 miles around.

1st Loadmaster- Sounds good comrade. I think Steve (the 2nd Loadmaster) and I will be able to handle the job.

Co-Pilot- Great, the sooner we do this, the sooner we will be home.

The Co-Pilot walked back up the stairs to the cockpit and strapped himself back up. The Co-Pilot looked at the GPS system then back down at the map

Co-Pilot- We have reached the drop zone area. I will intercom the crew so they can begin the drop.

The pilot agreed and the Co-Pilot sent an intercom message to the crew. The Pilot slowed the flight speed and a light came on showing that the rear cargo door was opening and the first drop was made. About 7 minutes passed and the airplane made an U-turn and flew further south. The second drop was soon complete and the light that showed the cargo door open grew dim once again. The Co-Pilot sighed in relief and stood up from his seat again and walked down stairs

Co-Pilot- Good job crew. Flight Command says they are very proud with us and they are anticipating our return.

“For freedom!” yelled a man as he took the pin out of a hand grenade. Seconds later, the square outside of what once was the state building exploded into a large fireball, the explosion sending the onlookers into the air killing several and injury many more. Pieces of the suicide bomber flew through the air, some landing almost fifty yards away. Once the initial shock of the blast had settled, the air was filled with the screams of people running from the scene. The injured and dead, numbering almost thirty-two in all. Several minutes later, emergency crews arrived, along with several men in combat gear, setting up a perimeter around the scene, making sure no body entered or left.

Inside what used to be the state house, the most powerful man in Arizona, Peter Kellogg, sat in a small secured room along with several guards and two of his most trusted friends, one being General Jeremy Winchester, the other being General Quinton Young. Both men had been given control of the private army Kellogg bought to maintain his hold on what once was Arizona.

”Would somebody like to tell me how that lunatic got so close to this building?” Kellogg asked, his voice stern and his cold gray eyes glaring between both men.

”Well sir,” General Young began, as a bead of sweat ran down his forehead and onto his cheek. ”We do not know. But it is suspected that he was an employee here in your mansion.”

Kellogg turned his head towards General Young, narrowing his eyes until they were nothing more than two small slits under his brow.

”Well then, I guess the next logical question would be how in the hell did that lunatic get a job, working where my family and I sleep!”

The room was completely silent as Kellogg stood from his seat and leaned across the table so his face was only four inches from Young’s. After several minutes, Kellogg took his seat.

”Well, since you two, my two most trusted aids, cannot give me any explanation at all on how this nut bag got a job here, I will have to assume that everyone who works here is a member of this rebel group. Therefore, I want everyone who I did not personally appoint to their positions taken outside and shot. Is that clear gentlemen?” Both men nodded their heads and quickly left the room behind Peter.

The next day, almost two hundred men and women had been lined up in front of the old statehouse, no one knowing what was going on. Several guards surrounded the football field sized “front lawn” with ten men standing directly in front of the group. Peter Kellogg walked out of the state house doors, and addressed the crowd:

”Ladies and gentlemen, you are all probably wondering why you have been gathered here today. Well, it just so turns out that the nut who tried to blow this very courtyard worked was an employee here. Now, since I was unaware with how easily it is to get a job here, and how relaxed the screening process is, I am very sorry to say that you are all fired.”
As Peter finished his sentence the ten soldiers in front of the group turned the safety off and cocked their weapons, bringing them to their shoulders and pointing them into the crowd. Peter turned his back to the crowd and took a step up the stairs when he stopped and turned back towards the crowd.

”Oh don’t bother getting your things, you won’t be needing them where you are going.”

With that he turned back around and walked the rest of the way up the steps and turned around with his left arm raised.

”Ready! Aim! Fi-“

Peter stopped as a large plane flew over head and thousands of pamphlets fell through the air. Picking one up, he read it over.

”Son of a Bitch”

Peter muttered to himself as he turned and walked back inside, hearing the sound of gunfire as the doors shut behind him.

As the soldiers looked up at the plane flying by... they alarmed all anti-aircraft forces to gather to be ready for any incoming bombings or drops. When the plane fly by a second time... they watched again for any signs of a cargo drop. When it passed peacfully, they got to their regular post. Two guards talked about the incident.

"Hey, what was that?"

"I'm not sure. I couldn't recognize the emblem on the plane. It certainly wasn't from any West coast terrortories. And the East coast is completely taken over by the Communist Louisiana."

"So, the info we got last week was true? Do you think it is possible?"

"I guess so. And if so it's a good idea we called the truce a couple days ago. No offence, but you and I have been fighting each other for years after the invasion of the Anti-U.S. Alliance destroyed our nation. I mean, I'm glad that the East coast was able to drive them out, but I think our government here is good enough. Communism here will hurt more than heal."

"Well hey, at least we don't have to fight our own people for power now. Thats cool, right?"

"Yes, thats true. I just hope that info we got about Communist Louisiana planning national domination is true. If not, we will start our political bickering all over again."

"Yeah. Well, enough about this... how was your day?"

"Well, I got to..."

In the New Mexico Federations Office

"So... it is true."

"Yes, sir. Communist Louisiana planes just flew over a while ago. What shall we do?"

"The Council will have a meeting tommorrow about this. This certainly cannot go unnoticed, yet what to do exactly is hard to figure out as well. Anyway, send the messege to the other Council members. Tell them a discussion will go on tommorrow."

"Yes, sir!"

Salt Lake City, Utah

"My lord!" Servant Alan Roberts quietly said, as clamored into the grand chambers of the Temple Square Cathedral. Sitting below was the rather charismatic and cynical Brigham Young III, filing through mulitple papers along with letters from one of his 3 wives in Provo. Slowly lifting his head to view the trembling servent, his glance was one of typical annoyance.

"What is it Alan..."

"My Lord, sir. Reports from our sources claim that Communist Louisiana is mobilizing a large part of its military forces for a possible offensive in the west. We also recieved one of these leaflets from a agent in New Mexico."

Quickly analyzing the leaftlet, Brigham mumbled to himself for a moment, then returned to his servant standing uneasily above.

"Alright. Summon the Bishops of Nephi and the County Generals. Those Communist heretics are preparing for something big, real big and we got to get ready for it. We must portect our people."

"Of course, sire. They shall be informed immedeatley."

Hurridley striding out of Brigham's chambers, Alan felt quite uneasy about the whole situation. The Bishops of Nephi had not been summond together since the Great War of Unification and now the whole political structure of Utah had been called forth. It truly seemed as though an era was coming to an end.

OCC: This is a meeting of Premier Dufour's aids and advisors. This is pretty much a secret thing.

Premier Dufour walked into a small room with a long table. At the table were seated about 12 different people. As the Premier walked into the room all of the people seated all stood as the Premier walked towards his chair on the opposite side of the room. He let out a slight smile and motioned them all to be seated as he took his seat. He looked at his advisor to the right hand side of him and began to speak

Premier Dufour- Timothy, you said the Economy could handle the war effort on the Western front correct?

Timothy Rye (Head Economist for CL)- Yes sir, the Economy under your advisors control, our economy has been very very powerful and stable. My aids as well as everyone else in control of it see little cause for worry from this small offensive nor the strain for extra spending on the defense of the newly controlled area sir. If anything, the opening of the Pacific coast may have very good effects on our economy. It would open up shipping in the West and the resources that can be attained from the Pacific Northwest will more than surely act as a sort of reperations towards the money spent on the offensive sir.

Premier Dufour- I like that kind of news. Lets just hope we can continue with more good than bad.

The Premier nodded his head then looked to the left of his own seat and spoke

Premier Dufour- Is our military ready for the main offensives to begin?

The man in a business suit nodded and spoke

Steven Autin (Commissar of Defense)- Yes sir, if you wish, we can show you the plans.

Premier Dufour- I think that would be a good idea.

Mr. Autin stood and the 3 men in military uniforms began to stand. They walked towards a wall and turned. The Commissar then pressed a button on a small remote he was holding. Once the button was pressed, a section of the wall with a mural on it flipped over so all the people could see was a large flat screen television mounted to the wall. The Commissar pressed another button and a map of North America, Gulf of Mexico, and Caribbean appeared on the screen. He motioned the Army General as well as the Navy Admiral to the screen with touch pens in hand. The first to go up to the screen was the Navy Admiral

Admiral Coby Dufour (Commander of entire Red Navy)- We currently have the 2nd Red Fleet in route to the West coast. The fleet consist of:

3 Infusion Class Carriers
x115 F-4G Advanced Wild Weasel's
x85 F/A-18 Hornet's
x20 P-3 Orion's
x15 E-2C Hawkeye's
x65 F-35 Joint Strike Fighter's

2 Iowa Class Battleship's
3 Leviathon Class Trimaran Battleship's
3 Mackensen Class Trimaran-Hull Battleships

3 Superior Class' Corvette's
3 Vengence Class Corvette's

8 CG-47 Ticonderoga Cruiser’s
10 Arctica’ Class Cruiser's

5 Atlanta’ Class Frigate's
6 Alliance Class Frigate's

9 Shotgun Class Cruise Missile Submarine's
5 Parche Class Intelligence Submarine
5 Los Angeles Class Submarine's

5 Arleigh Burke guided missile AEGIS Destroyer's
6 Pacifica’ Class Destroyer's
2 Type 45 Daring Class Anti-Air Warfare Destroyer's

15 Cyclone Class Patrol Coastal Boat
20 Mark V Special Operations Craft
10 ‘International Class’ Patrol Ship

2 Wright Class Aviation Logistics Support Ship
2 Georgic Class Support and Command Ship's
3 Potomac Class Offshore Petroleum Discharge Ship
2 Safeguard Class Rescue and Salvage Ship
2 Mercy Class Hospital Ship's
2 Kaiser Class Oiler Ship's
3 Emory S. Land Class Submarine Tender's
5 Mars Class Combat Stores Ship
5 Powhatan Class Fleet Ocean Tug
3 Observation Island Class Radar Ship

He made a line on the screen which appeard in white where the chain of blockade ships will be

Admiral Coby Dufour- We plan to have a standard blockade of the West coast. The ships will also be used to bombard any positions we fill might be a risk to our troops on the ground. We will also possibly land small numbers of troops on land from the west even though a majority of the invasion force should come from the East and what not. The entire fleet should be their by tomorrow afternoon (RL Tomorrow)

Premier Dufour- Sounds good. What does the army have planned for us?

The Commissar motioned the Army General and the General walked to the screen

General Dereck Gaspard (Commander of the entire Red Army)- So far we are planning a blitzkrieg type tactic from the East into the territories of New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, and Idaho. We are also currently talking with the government of Aztec National League who is in control of the territories of Baja California and Mexico about possibly launching some of our invasion forces from their into California, Arizona and New Mexico. We currently estimate the first territories to fall will be Arizona and New Mexico.

The General drew arrows from CL territories into the new proposed territories

Premier Dufour-Ok, now what is the current estimates for the number of units and what not?

General Dereck Gaspard- Right now the figures look something like this. They may change at anytime as you have given me permission to call in more troops and what not as time goes on. I will have complete numbers for you tomorrow.

Premier Dufour- I want those numbers on my desk first thing in the morning.

OCC: That means I am to lazy to post those numbers right now. I will do it tomorrow and update things again.

The next mourning... at the Coucil Building.

"Gentelmen," rose Western Front General James Grabow, "as you all may have heard, a plane from most likely Communist Louisiana flew over today at 0800 hours. We do not yet know of the reasons of this, yet many feel that it would be the start of an invasion from them to take over the Western terrortories. This combined with the messeges we got from agents add up to that solution. I need everyones opinion here... Eastern and Western New Mexicans. What should we do?"

The Eastern Front Gerneral, Mark Sell, stands up.

"The answer is simple. Prepare for war. If CL does try to invade us, we need to be ready. I say we prepare our forces immediatly before it's too late!"

A Western Front Representitive stands with another part.

"I agree with Gen. Sell. However, we cannot defend our land on our own. We need reinforcments. I propose we contact the other Western terrortories about a Western Alliance of some sort. That way, we will have a better chance of surviving."

Just then a differant Western Front Rep. stands.

"I cannot believe this. Defences? Alliances? Why bother? Waiting for them to make the first move is suicidal. We must advance first! If we make the first move, we can catch them by surprise!"

After much deliberation, they took a vote. The Council was made of 326 members. The vote tally was: 162 for Self-Defence, 163 for Alliance: 1 for Attack

"Ok," rose Gen. Grabow, "it seems we have a stand-off. Well, since Alliance has 1 vote over Self-Defence, heres what my proposal is. Let us try to send messeges to the other terrortories. If they want to form an alliance, we will. If they don't, we won't. If none of them form an alliance, we will resort to Self-Defence. All those in favor say 'Aye!'"

In unison, the entire council screamed "Aye!"

"Ok. Messengers, send out copys of a messege to form an Alliance. Send one to every terrortory, immediatly! I call this meeting to a close."

Later that day, the messeges and New Mexico awaited the return reply.

Throughout the country, the small town militias began fortifying their towns for the coming storm. Throughout the land the militias began digging hundreds of miles of trenches and setup various checkpoints at the edges of the town. Hidden caches of weapons and ammo were being opened, with any man child and woman able to fire a weapon receiving one. The plan of attack had come straight from the capitol and Peter Kellogg. This would not be a conventional war; they would not be facing the enemy in force, instead resorting to sending small groups of men to slow the enemy troops, while guerilla fighters attacked from the rear. Thousands of men began moving into the many caverns and mountains in the desert, using the wide spans of emptiness as training grounds.

OOC: Sorry for the crappy post, but this is about all I can muster right now, and if I get the chance to post at all this weekend they will probably be about this caliber. Got a lot of crap put on my plate for school this weekend.

Mr. Ryan Stratard (Secretary of State) knocked on Premier Dufour’s office door and proceeded in. The Premier looked up from the mass of paper work on his desk to see Mr. Stratard standing before him with an excited look. Premier Dufour closed the folder he was looking into and looked at Mr. Stratard

Premier Dufour- Well, I can tell by the look on your face we either have some very good or very bad news. So which is it Ryan?

Secretary Stratard- It is very good news sir. Our allies of Aztec National League have agreed and will let us base an invasion force from Mexico and Baja California.

Premier Dufour- Simply put, we will have two fronts to launch the Blitzkrieg attack from.

Secretary Stratard- Yep.

Premier Dufour- Have you given this information to General Gaspard (Commander of Red Army) and Admiral Dufour (Commander of Red Navy)?

Secretary Stratard- Na, I thought you would like to know before them.

Premier Dufour- Very well then Ryan. I want you to now go deliver the news to Steven Autin (Commissar of Defense). Tell him to go deliver the news to Gaspard and Dufour.

Secretary Stratard- Very well then.

Mr. Stratard turned and proceeded to walk out the door.
