Muttia Incorporated, a new-age small arms manufacturing company specializing in sniper rifles, has just emerged onto the weaponry battlefield with the release of its newest rifle, the SR-022 "Mantis." The Mantis is chambered for the .338 Magnum round, which is quite a powerful killing machine!

Muttia Incorporated's CEO Chuck Robinson released the rifle earlier today to allies of The Revolutionized Culture of Witzgall, and has decided to unveil the technological advancement of a weapon to the masses of the international community.

Caliber

The .338 Magnum round is the wasp of modern warfare. The SR-022, equipped with the highly powerful and highly accurate round of the .338, can hit and kill a target wearing five layers of military body armor and still make the kill it is designed to make. The .338 Magnum round is based on a modified .416 Rigby cartridge. The .338 Magnum is so powerful that it can pound a 250-grain round at about 3,000 feet per second out to about a mile.

Operation

A bolt-action rifle means that the shooter must load and chamber each round he fires. Once he has fired, he has to clear the shell casing and load another round. Though they are more difficult to operate and have a much slower rate of fire, bolt-action rifles are preferred because they have fewer moving parts than automatics. The bolt is also 60 degrees rotational.

Barrel

The SR-022's barrel is fixed to the receiver by eccentrical lock. The lock is operated by an allen wrench type tool. When the lock is released, the barrel can be simply pulled out of the receiver and be replaced by another barrel. When locked, barrel is free floated for maximum accuracy. The SR-022's barrel is also fitted with a muzzle brake, which defletcs the emerging propellant gas to the side and slightly rearwards. The SR-022 incorporates both of these designs onto the standard barrel, and by doing such the recoil is reduced massively by roughly 80%.

Stock

The stock of the SR-022, made of synthetic materials, is fully adjustable for length of pull, height, and position of the cheek rest (a raised portion of the stock.) The cheek rest, also made of synthetic materials, enables the shooter to rest his cheeck firmly to obtain eye releif and sight picture when using a telescopic sight (obviously going to be used, as this is a rifle for long-range shooting). The check rest is also good for assisting or steadying aim.

Trigger

The SR-022 features what is known as a "set trigger". A set trigger is a mechanism compromising of a second trigger, mounted behind the first. This sets the first trigger and allows for an extemely sensitive mechanism, as well as providing an extremely light trigger pull.

Accuracy

With a .25 Minute of Angle, this rifle is made to be one of the most accurate sniper rifles in the world today, and possibly for generations to come. 1 MOA (Minute Of Angle) is measure of the angle, that formed with the triangle with muzzle as the top and the group as the base. If a rifle with .3MOA can hit 1 inch groups at 300 yards, or 2 inch groups at 600 yards, imagine what the SR-022 can do!

Usage

Being that the SR-022 carries a somewhat pricey cost, it is used by elite groups. However, it is possible to outfit sniper batallions or groups with such rifles, it is not logistically sound.

Our standard price is 5,875 USD, and I'm afraid that at this moment we cannot go any lower. Each rifle is tested by our technicians and scientists, as well as six different machines of harsh weather control, pressure, roughness, and other tests to push each rifle to the maximum.

Your total is $58,740,000, and we will rush your order at no extra cost.

OOC: It's not that hard to convert metrics from standard, or standard from metric.

OOC: I recommend looking at the pop of a nation before selling large quantities of these weapons, because like with chaosmonger, that many guns for that price would put a large dent into the amount hey have to spend on defense.

I actually do do backround checks. But 10,000 rifles is a small amount.
