Hello, I’m Joshua Boulden of Romandeos News Service, coming to you live from Capital Hill in the city of Tasmardonia, capital city of the Kingdom of Romandeos with shocking information concerning the political process here in our great nation. Our Prime Minister, Dennis Mayfield, is coming to the end of his second term as the master of our Parliament, and he has announced to the people of Romandeos that he will be trying for another term.

However, King Christian I, head of the Royal Family, has announced that things are to be a little bit different from usual in this election. He has announced that he intends to let the assorted peoples of the world have a say in who will be the next person to run Parliament.

The Candidates are as follows.

Kurt Wattles: Kurt Wattles is an older gentleman of forty-five years who has served as an Independent in the Parliament for the past twenty-two years of his life. He believes that it is necessary to maintain what he calls a strict “Home Folks First” policy, which means he has plans to maintain a largely isolationist administration if he is elected, interfering in an international affair only if it will directly benefit Romandeos. He intends to enact policies like the “No Immigration Policy” he proposed to the Parliament thirteen years ago, which is a law that would keep most people out of the country, allowing only those who meet an incredibly strict set of physical, mental and political parameters to get inside our borders.

Dennis Mayfield: Dennis Mayfield is even older than Wattles at a little over fifty years of age, and he is rumored to be in less than perfect health. He has been the Prime Minister of his country twice before already, and he is apparently anxious to do so once more, though it would bring his total time in service to eighteen years. His stated policy is to protect his homeland by building a strong military and establishing strong, profitable trade links with large numbers of other nations, but not to establish binding military alliances that may get his country involved in a war in which it has no real interests. He is facing accusation that he is a hypocrite due to his formation of militaristic relations with the nation of Hogsweat in spite of his stated policy. He is also an Independent.

Taunja Lockeheart: Taunja Lockeheart has been in the Parliament for less than two years, but this twenty-six year-old woman has been studying politics ever since she was a young lady of only fourteen years. She is currently a member of the Conservative Party, and that looks like it isn’t going to change soon. Her policy is to maintain her country’s security in international and external affairs by building up a strong military, forming trade alliances, looking for military cooperation with other countries, and bettering the standard of living, keeping the risk of internal rebellion to a minimum. She also plans to enhance civil rights laws in Romandeos.

I choose none of the above any candidate that needs the support of the people is obviously weak and ill suited to the position. Hell two of the candidates are nothing but old men and the other a untested warrior. Leaders should be strong and command the respect of its people not bow to its petty whims. Election's bah! who needs them.

IC: Pardon me, good sir, but I would have to say that trusting in the people and letting them choose is a sign of strength and trustworthiness.

~ Taunja Lockeheart, Candidate for Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Mayfield and Candidate Wattles refused to comment.

OOC: If you read this, please take the time to participate in the poll, folks!

Taunja Lockeheart is the better of the three, by furthering trade/military alliances, Romandeos will be secure and prosper. And I am always inclined to support those that favor civil rights. She has no threat from the other two canidates.

"Hi, I'm Dan Ritherford from Political Talk 650AM and I would like to ask cantidate
Taunja Lockeheart the following questions:

What is your position on Welfare and/or Social Security?

What do they use to ship Styrofoam?

If it's tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

If elected, how will you further enhance the military of your country?

Do blind Eskimos have seeing-eye sled dogs?

IC: “Good day to you, Mr. Ritherford, I shall attempt to answer all of your queries to the very best of my abilities.”

#1: Social Security is a good idea, so long as it is kept up to date with the current needs of the people.

#2: I would have to say that probably depends on who is shipping it.

#3: It is forbidden to shoot tourists because that would be murder.

#4: If elected, my plans to modernize the military of Romandeos will include building the Navy that Romandeos will require to stay a sovereign national entity. In addition, I would hope to be able to mechanize our Army, equipping it with tanks, artillery, and much more in the quickest, most efficient manner possible. If possible, an Air Force will also be established.

#5: You know, I guess I would just have to say that depends on many different variables.

Well, the Armandian government wishes to ask why there is an apparent lack of extremist left and right wing nutjobs running. C'mon, the international community needs somebody to laugh at. And have either of the aging candidates ever choked on a pretzel? And what are the candidate's stances on the Armandian plan to use anti-love gas to eliminate all love?

IC: For your first question, there are just none of those people running, and it's as simple as that.

For your second question, Kurt Wattles once choked on a cashew when he was very young.

For your third question, we did not know of this plan, but all three people who are running consider it a horrible idea.
