---------------------------------------------

Minsk, Belarus...

Reichschancellor Wilhelm Einheit, III and Großfeldmarshal Kahn [High commander of all operations in Europe] were speaking together concerning the situation with Aequatio...

--------------------------------------------

Translated from German...

Reichschancellor Einheit: "Well, the Aequatians have returned to peacetime military operational levels. The Polish/Belarussan border, however, is still heavily fortified by Aequatio.

Your thoughts?"

Großfeldmarshal Kahn: "Herr Einheit, if we are to strike, the time to do so is now. I personally was not expecting that they were going to activate a nuclear missile brigade.

I suppose the support of our allies deterred them from actually using them.

Nevertheless, Herr Reichschancellor, the possibility that they may again activate their arsenal is quite high. Especially given the situation that will occur very soon."

Reichschancellor Einheit: "Agreed, Herr Kahn. We must activate the 'Nur Einmal' Nuclear ICBM Silo in Southcentral Belarus. We will activate it, but we will NOT use it unless we are fired upon by nuclear weapons first.

Do not issue a statement to the world that we are activating it. We must keep this a secret. I want no one except me, yourself, and the workers at that silo to know of this, understood?

As well, Kahn, are the forces in Lithuania ready?"

Großfeldmarshal Kahn: "Yes, Herr Einheit. All Generals and Fieldmarshals awaiting yours or my command to launch the invasion. They are waiting for the command to come at any minute.

The GFB-1 Ultra Stealth bombers in Brest are activated and are awaiting the order to begin destroying defenses along the border with Poland. Stationary Kormoran Missile Sites along the border have been activated and are targeting key Aequatian Military Bases and points of possible counterstrikes."

Reichschancellor Einheit: "Excellent, Kahn. Send an order to the GFB-1s in Brest that the bombardment of Aequatian defenses along the Belarussan/Polish border to begin in approximately six hours and forty-five minutes.

Order the GFB-1s in Lithuania to be prepared for support of the ground assault against Poland in eight hours.

Are the Panzerwehr Korps and Lüftwaffe in Salzburg prepared? Also, are the Panzerwehr Korps and Lüftwaffe along the Danish/German border prepared?"

Großfeldmarshal Kahn: "Ja, Herr Einheit. GFB-1s have been sent and activated in both Denmark and Austria. Everything is ready. We await your command."

Reichschancellor Einheit: "Excellent, Kahn. Send the following messages to our allies."

Message to: Emperor of Layarteb, Emperor of The Order of Reptiles, Andrehervia
Message from: Reichschancellor Einheit, III
Subject: Operation: Grey Storm

"My dear friends, the time has come. Bombing of the defenses of Poland will begin in approximately six hours and forty-five minutes. Ground assault of Poland from Lithuania will be launched in approximately eight hours.

In nine hours, the Blitzkrieg from Denmark will be launched against Germany.

In nine and one half hours, the Blitzkrieg from Austria will also be launched against Germany.

I send you this message, if you still stay true to your word, that we will need your military assistance now.

My old friend Emperor of Layarteb, it is now more than ever that I request your support. With the assistance of your brilliant engineering, as you know, we have constructed a large number of new ultra-stealth bombers and planes. However, even these cannot fully protect the Imperial Reichswehr from long-range attacks and airstrikes.

We are also concerned of the Aequatian Navy. While it has not been mentioned by them as a possible strike factor, it must be. I ask you most direly, cripple their navy and I shall cripple their army. Together, we shall cripple their airforce.

My newest friend, the Emperor of The Order of Reptiles, you have sent forces to Lithuania in support of North Germania. As soon as news of the Blitzkrieg against Aequatio is received by High Command in The WIck, we are almost certain they will launch a counter-assault.

I ask you to watch their movements, and if they strike, to decimate them. Forces in Lithuania, as I have stated, are prepared to invade Poland. If you wish to further assist us in our time of need, accompany them!

Your military power is without question, and it will be needed.

Andrehervia, we have had friendly relations for quite a long time now, and you have pledged your military support as well. The invasion of Aequatio is at hand. If you are still willing to help, have your soldiers ready! Our enemies will crumble and you will be rewarded.

Pyschotika, your forces are already in Belarus. Be prepared for the first maneuver into Aequatian land if you are to help. Rally your forces for independence and sovereignty!

I deeply thank you all for your ever-continuing support.

"We are prepared to invade Poland within ten hours. As North Germania is a member of The Roman Confederacy, and as we have been threatened, attacked, insulted, and even had nuclear weapons aimed at our lands, we request your military support.

RomeW, your lands in Switzerland are a prime location to launch a strike against Aequatio in Germany. If you are to help us, I ask that you do so soon.

Hawdawg, you have pledged military support already. I greatly and sincerely thank you for this, and it will not be forgotten ever. If you are still offering your military power in this trying situation, I ask that you be prepared to either help defend the lands of Germania, or march alongside the Reichswehr into Aequatio.

To truncate this message, I will simply say the following: Those of you that have the courage to support a fellow member of your alliance, let that courage be shown now!

Thank you.

ooc: Not currently. The potential wars in the Med. didn't happen. But I'll let you know if anything happens elsewhere in the world.

ic: The Cottish Empire awaits the order.

Brest

The soldiers of the 134th Combined Brigade were out of their foxholes, scrounging whatever they could. You'd be surprised of how much a soldier can get with only a few packs of cigarettes. One infantryman of the 6th Company had manage to bribe the Germanian soldier in the supply depot to trade five packs of Cottish cigarettes and a Colt .45 sidearm for a twelve bars of Austrian Chocolate and three bottles of Germanian Vodka. A good deal, especially because the Germanian was a weapons fanatic, and the only weapon he lacked in his collection was... You guessed it. The Colt M1911 .45 caliber pistol.

There were even rumors of one NCO trying to trade a M1A2 for something. Some said a attack helicopter. Others said a crate of Vodka. The latter was probably the most correct version of the story. Anyway..

Anyway, the soldiers were gathered by their company commanders and briefed on the situation.

Captain: Ok fellas. Right now, it's less then 10 hours to go. We attack today along the entire border. Our task is to proceed to and hold the city of Siedlce. We won't go in alone. The Germanians are sending a few units to help us take the city. Your platoon commanders will brief you further. Good luck.

From President Feldinchii

We have just recieved your message. Our troops in Belarus are forming up, and 300,000 are being flown in as we speak. They will be there atleast 2 hours before the invasion. ( That will make a total of 555,000 in Belarus ). For Independence and Sovereingty!

--

The Pyschotikan Forces already in Belarus, 255,000 ( 5,000 Being SF and the rest Marines ) formed up with the rest of the troops preparing for invasion. The Special Forces were oriented more up front, preparing to unload there HE Bullets on groups of enemy troops and vehicles. The other 300,000 were loading up in the Planes to take a secure guarded airpath from a undisclosed base in Pyschotikan land to another undisclosed Germanian airbase.

Lithuanian/Polish border...

The Reichschancellor had assembled another rally. The difference in this one, was that he was speaking to the Reichswehr only. Few citizens attended.

Columns of infantry with their heads held high watched Einheit and listened intently.

The Germanian Reichswehr Military March Korps were playing the battle hymns of Germania: the ancient tribal marches, the hymn of the Germanic Unification of 1902, and the present-day marches.

When they finished, the Reichschancellor, dressed in his military uniform, spoke.

Translated from German...

Reichschancellor Einheit: "Brave and glorious soldiers of Germania: your great Nation has called upon you in these times of darkness and danger. You have and will continue to serve and protect your country to no end.

For this, I thank and applaud every single one of you. As I have said in the rallies in Brest and Minsk, YOU are Germania. Let it not crumble under cowardice or fear. You, the glorious Soldiers of the Reichswehr, will not do so.

You all have the courage and strength to conquer our lowly enemies! I have seen it in your eyes! You do not know fear! When the order are given, ours and YOUR military prowess will be demonstrated on the ground ... in the air ... at sea; we will not capitulate!

I will march to battle alongside you! Großfeldmarshal Kahn will march to battle alongside you!

Defeat will not be known to us; only victory!"

With those words, the Reichslied - the anthem of Germania - was played, and Reichschancellor Einheit stepped down from the podium and saluted the soldiers and shook their hands.

--------------------------------------------

Hundreds upon hundreds of Germanian artillery and MLRS systems moved to the border, ready to begin the bombardment of Poland.

The Panzerwehr Korps moved into attack position. Thousands of tanks and armoured vehicles and hundreds of thousands of infantry were now prepared.

They knew now only their own bravery and ability as soldiers. Many of them knew their fate was death, yet they did not falter. Those who were not very religious were now making their peace with God.

Soon, the attack would commence...

The morale of the Germanian Soldiers was at its highest. Those accompanying Pyschotikan and Cottish soldiers were drinking vodka and smoking cigarettes together.

The Germanians were telling their best jokes or stories to Cottish and Pyschotikan Soldiers -- mainly raunchy and hilarious.

The Germanian Soldiers welcomed their allies with open arms and gave them Austrian chocolate, pastries, and cigarettes. They presented Danish and Belarussan liquors with little charge.

One Germanian Soldier was reported to give a Cottish Captain a letter he had written to his wife and son in case he was killed in combat.

More rumors of Germanian Soldiers sharing pictures of their family and telling stories about themselves to both Cottish and Pyschotikan Soldiers emerged.

They could not be in a better mood.

From President Feldinchii
To Reichschancellor Einheit

I honor your choice to march besides your men. I believe you already know can happen if you do this. I might have done the same, but most of my body's strength has withered away with age. As you know, I am 71 Years old. But my Men will be honored to be marching alongside one of the leaders in this war, and who would be better then you. May god be with you.

---

All Pyschotikan troops were ordered to stand 500 Yards westward into Belarus from the Polish/Belrussian border. There they met other soldiers of other nations. Such as Cottish soldiers and Germanian. Soldiers were exchanging words, the younger ones mostly spoke about there girl friends at home. Showing eachother pictures of something in one anothers country. Just socializing like brothers almost. Yes, brothers. Its exactly what these men would be today. They fight for the same causes, and would help one another as if they were there actual brother in trouble. Thats what bound these men together today. Thats what would help win this war.

Amongst the soldiers, there was a Captain. Michael Harrison. He and his small band of friends were just sitting infront of a fire. Talking about the latest happenings at home. Some Germanians and Cottish would even come over and they would all share there life storys. Everyone was actually having fun talking. They were all anticipating the call that should come soon that would drive these men plunging into the hearts of the enemys. That call would come soon, or so hoped the men.

Several baptist reverends (the Cottish army prefer baptists as chaplains because of their fiery temper) walked around and talked, prayed, cast the eternal damnnation of God on the opposing force, and listened to confessions with the soldiers, Cottish, Germanian and Pyschotikan alike.

The soldiers themselves talked with everyone they saw and mingled in the brotherhood that war creates. As one Cottish officer said to the Cottish, Germanian and Pyschotikan soldiers he talked to:

"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. For he today who sheds his blood with me shall be my brother."

A soldier of the 6th Panzerwehr Korps standing with the Cottish officer who said "We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. For he today who sheds his blood with me shall be my brother.", felt the emotion of these words.

He leaned his G-36 assault rifle against a tree, set his pistol on the ground next to it, and removed the 14" blade that every Germanian Soldier carries.

The Germanian knelt down on one knee, pulled off his helmet and set it next to his guns, revealing his short, blondish-brown hair, and stabbed the dagger into the lightly snow-covered ground. He knelt his head downwards with both his palms wrapped around the handle of the dagger.

He crossed his chest in the shape of the Teutonic Cross with his right hand, in the tradition of his barbarian ancestors. He then looked towards the sky and whispered a prayer in ancient Germanian.

The Soldier removed the blade, or Klinge, from the ground and wiped the snow and dirt off. He sheathed his dagger, slung his assault rifle on his back, re-holstered his pistol and put his helmet back on.

He shook the hand of the Cottish Officer and smiled.

"My brother."

Our military forces are, indeed, ready for action and will be deployed to the Polish-Belarussian border as per your request. Time is of the essence, though - it will take some time to get from Petersen to the border.

--------------------------------------

Witzenberg finished typing up the message and immediately picked up his telephone handset and slowly dialled the number scribbled on a piece of torn paper. "Bowden? Pick up your stuff and get out of that office. You're being promoted. Get in an AH56 and get ready to move to the Polish border when you get the order."

I request that your forces support us from behind to prevent being flanked from the sides and back by Aequatian forces.

Other than this request, I have no others. Operate as you see most fit.

My many thanks,

Captain Harrison was fidling around with his sidearm. Checking his magazines for the exact 13 rounds that should be in it. Just toying with it. He had already checked his XM-8. He heard from some Germanian soldiers that everyone was waiting on a word from the Layertebian government. There wasn't in responses from the enemy either, so all was mellowing out a little bit. But as always, the men stayed sharp. Michael put his pistol back in its holster, and decided to do a prayer to God before he had no chance to. Michael wasn't a verry Religious man, he always thought that believing in God would suffice. Now he needed his God more then ever, and he hoped that he hasn't damaged his relationship with his holyness by not participating Church verry often. In his prayer, he made a oath to God that if he survived this war, he would start going to Church. Seeing that it would fit as a thank you for his holyness' protection over him. After his prayer, he looked around with blank distant eyes. He started reliving memorys of the past. He started thinking of his girl back home. Odd thing about this girlfriend of this, she was the granddaughter of the President, Mike Feldinchii that is. He stopped abruptly as a Germanian soldier walked up behind Michael tapping his shoulder.

Germanian Soldier: Hallo Komerad.
Michael: Oh, hi.
Germanian Soldier: I thought you were kind of lonely just standing around this tree by your self. So I thought I would talk to you, share stories.
Michael: Oh, so whats your rank?
Germanian Soldier: Gefreiter, kind of like your Corporal, und du?
Michael: Captain, Captain Harrison that is.
The Germanian Soldier quickly saluted the young officer, now realizing he was a supperior.
Michael: No need to Salute me, Komerad. I like to be thought as a regular man fighting for what he believes in alongside with other men fighting for what they believe in.

And so the two got into a deep conversation, the usual that other Soldiers were doing. Family, and lovers back at home.

Germanian Soldier: "You know, Herr Harrison, I have spent my twenty-two years of life wondering why I am here and what for. I realize now it isn't up to me to make that decision. Nor is it the decision of the Reichschancellor or my superiors.

It seems to me that Leben - life - is like floating down a river in a boat without any paddles or guidance. Except in that boat is everyone you encounter, friends or enemies.

It is what we come upon on the way that matters. At least, that is what I have decided at this point.

What do you think?"
Pyschotika
06-02-2005, 04:52
Harrison smiled

Harrison: Thats a pretty nice analogy you've got there. I just think of life as, well..you do what you do, and things will just happen. Consequences. So, you can say I kind of let my life go down a river with no paddles. Or maybe a bit more like a ship at sea unable to go where it exactly wants to, because every move ends up in consequence...something like that, I'm not to good at anologys... * Harrison looked up in the sky, a flurry of snow had begun. It was beautiful actually, most of the Soldiers were attracted by it, looking up in the sky. *

310mm, 280mm, 220mm, 170mm, 155mm artillery guns and MLRS's began rolling into the area. The Soldiers in the area began cheering, as they knew the attack would soon commence.

Recently constructed mobile, long-range, GPS- and laser-guided Kormoran Missile Vehicles followed the Artillery Korps.

The Kormoran Missile Vehicles were quite the weapon - capable of successfully destroying a target, such as a tank or defense post, from over four miles, with 99.8% accuracy.

These were the weapons, along with the MLRS's, that the initial ground assault would rely upon to destroy major defensive and offensive positions.

Tank crews began starting up their Panthers, M1A3s, and Leopard model tanks in preparation for the onslaught against Aequatio.

The Soldiers in this area grew quiet as the all-black clad ESPK Black Ops marched silently around them to the Belarussan/Polish border. There, they would begin operations to clear bridges of any hidden explosives or mines.

Dusk was starting to set, and the Soldiers were becoming anxious about their attack...

Harrison quickly sprinted to his Squad as the Germanian soldier went to speak with Captain Hosenfeld. He told his Squad, and they didn't mind at all. The Empire of Layarteb will be vigilant in looking for and dealing with the Aequatian navy. We have the North Sea closed off and have sealed up the English Channel. Any ships going in or out will have to pass through us. Submarine operations are commencing throughout the seas with two submarines in the North Sea right now, one in the English Channel, and the others shadowing the fleet. We have two SSGNs and one SSBN operating throughout the region, ready and poised for a strike, if necessary.

=========================
On board the countless Layartebian ships, operations were commencing. Targetting packages were being prepared for Standard LASM and Tomahawk missiles, should they be needed. All ships were on passive sensors, using their passive sonars to listen and their passive radars to watch. Aircraft were up flying BARCAP around the carriers and the ships, AWACS being up far enough away from the coast to be protected but close enough to see what was coming, if anything. Submarines operating in the Channel and the North Sea were deep, near the bottom, their tubes loaded and ready, their sonars on passive. Whatever it took, they would be there to engage and destroy the Aequatian navy, if necessary.

Two hours later...

General George Bowden lept out of his AH56, two miles from the Polish-Ukrainian border. Already at the site were 800 tanks, 1,400 APC's, 300 Tiger and 250 DA-237 attack helicopters and 30,000 troops, among others. The entire border had been a hive of activity, preparing trenches, artillery positions, logistics personnel hurrying along setting up camps, directing traffic and supplying troops with ammunition and equipment for the long road to Warsaw. General Bowden looked around the site with pride and made his way towards the M1087 expandable van, where the entire operation would be orchestrated.

Bowden strode into the small room, at the moment simply kitted out with a large table and a dozen maps. Inside the room were several colonels and majors, the commanders of the various units sprayed across the border. He stopped and saluted, the other officers returning the complement. He continued the walk towards the table.

General Bowden: Gentlemen, you know the plan. RG units are to sweep forward from the Polish border and halt just to the left of the most Northern border of the Czech Republic where they will join RG units supporting North Germanian forces. We've got a lot of work to do before we can set off, so let's get the finalising done now.

Our fleets and 2 MEF are currently standing by off the coast of Denmark with the Layarteb Fleets. Our navy will assist Layarteb with knocking out the naval threat the enemy will almost surely bring. We will land the 1st and 2nd MEF in Denmark and assist the troops on the Ground there. We would like to know who the contact is on the ground in Denmark so we can link our boys up with them? We also have a special rapid deployment force we can send to a forward airbase for deployment please notify me of a base they can fly into. I have scrambled the Conventional and Non-Conventional Bomber Fleet for use. We will bomb positions as needed. If Air defenses will be a problem we will use the Stealth Squadrons.

The Dohlheim Military Airbase in Odense, Denmark (near the border with Germany) can accomodate these forces listed.

When unloaded and organized, you will be able to contact and link-up with Feldmarshal Fourth Class Stahlheim, commander of the Panzerwehr Korps to strike into Northern Germany.

There are a total of 18 Panzerwehr Korps near the Danish/German border which consist of a total of 540,000 infantry, over 6,500 tanks and armoured vehicles, and over 800 various artillery units.

These will be supported by 4 Lüftwaffe Korps, a total of 800 air-superiority fighters, fighter/bombers, ultra-stealth bombers, stealth bombers, heavy bombers, ultra-stealth recon planes, attack helicopters, and transport helicopters.

As well, the Panzerwehr Korps will be supported and aided by a large force of NGFB-119 Missile Ships (long-range and GPS-guided missiles) and a number of battleships and submarines, based in Copenhagen, Northern Denmark, and Western Denmark.

If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to ask them.

We thank you for allowing us to use your airbases in Switzerland. In the future, we may need bombers and fighters from your side. However, apart from this, we are currently doing quite well with over half a million soldiers based North of Salzburg, over 6,000 armoured vehicles and tanks, and over 900 artillery units.

Thank you again for the support of Rome!"

"Hochreich Tower, this is Soviet Bloc aerial forces approaching from 14500 feet and 265 degrees. We await landing instructions and order."

A response arrived and Lieutenant Colonel Ruslan Turmshivienskiy replied with his calm voice across the radio, "Roger Hochreich Tower. Approacing at specified vector and altitude."

The aerial force deployed by Soviet Bloc to aide her ally was massive and led by a vanguard of security forces aboard three C-380As and over a dozen fighter aircraft. The aircraft was headed towards Hochreich Military Airport in Salzburg, Austria. The initial force would land and deploy some 800 infantry and prepatory ground crew to await the remaining dozens of C-380s carrying over forty thousand personnel, of which fifteen thousand were actual infantrymen, members of the near-elite 34th Airborne Infantry Division. The rest were maintenance and logistical personnel who would support the 34th AID. One regiment was present from the 168th Airborne Armor Division with its five thousand mechanized infantry and its hundreds of light tanks and light armored vehicles.

However, the primary contribution by the ARSB would be its aerial forces... Included in the ARSB contribution to the effort by North Germania would be three KC-380F super-tanker aircraft, which could each refuel six aircraft four or five times over again. Two EC-380E airborne electronic warfare and early warning aircraft would also be deployed, due to their size and potential to carry so much equipment and personnel, just one of the aircraft could deny radar, radio communications, GPS, GLONASS, and satellite access in an area in excess of hundreds of square miles. Two MC-380Bs would also be included in the contribution, each was a cruise missile dispensor system, capable of wiping out entire countries with the weapons they possessed.

The aerial forces deployed to assist North Germania weren't just with the -380 series of aircraft but would also be with the smaller combat aircraft. Two hundred and fifty A-89A Molotok close air support aircraft would also be flown and shipped in. Also being flown in, to see their first conflict, would be the MV-87A turbofan VTOL light transports/gunships to assist in allied efforts. The MV-87A could carry in twelve to fifteen infantrymen to a battle zone at speeds approaching Mach one. It could then clear an area for its occupants to land via the 30mm three-barreled cannon in a small bubble turret which is able to be lowered to provide full 360 degree coverage (for low speeds/VTOL mode). It would then hover and drop its forces via a large rear door which was covered by a crew served, hydrualically lowered GAU-8A 12.7mm six barreled mini-gun. After its occupants have disembarked, the MV-87A would remain in VTOL mode and engage enemy targets with munitions mounted on eight wing hardpoints (four on each wing). Versions being deployed include medevac variants, VIP transports, heavy gunships, local area denial gunships, forward air control, and local early warning.

Upwards of three hundred F/A-91AB Savage multi-role aircraft would also be deployed along with two hundred of their near identical cousin, the F/A-41AB STOVL multi-role aircraft. Other aircraft being deployed include one hundred and ninety F-78A Sokol air superiority fighters, one hundred F-79A Molniya II fighters, and twenty four F-225A stealth fighter-bombers.

Further forces, including fifteen thousand airborne infantry and thirty thousand marines stationed at Naval Air and Marine Corp Station Areventsky on the Island of Rose's man-made island would be prepared for potential conflict along with hundreds of additional aircraft including conventional bombers.

However, apart from this, we are currently doing quite well with over half a million soldiers based North of Salzburg, over 6,000 armoured vehicles and tanks, and over 900 artillery units.

Thank you again for the support of Rome!"[/i]

"Großfeldmarshal Kahn, we will do anything in our power to assist our allies. You have the full support of the Soviet Bloc war machine... General Weslenikov, of EUROCOMM, wishes to relay that we have even more forces prepared to enter the fray if necessary, most are stationed in the Mediterranean, but can be transferred from MEDCOMM jurisdiction to EUROCOMM when needed. Those forces will remain in reserve however, along with forces station in North Dakota. Our ground forces have received your requests and they will be sent immediately. In fact, as I speak the 34th Airborne Infantry is taking off with 1st Regiment, 168th Airborne Armor in tow. They should arrive within an hour and fifteen minutes at the designated area. Thank you, Komrosky out.

Marshal Evgeniy Komrosky

"C'mon boys! Saddle up!" shouted Command Sergeant Novoya, furiously circling his hand above his head at the hundreds of troops arrayed in an assembly area. Of course his same voice was being transmitted via DNI but most of the soldiers could hear his bellowing voice already without the aid of the DNI. Quickly, and rather seamlessly, the five hundred members of the 1st Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 34th Airborne Infantry Division piled into the dozens of armored personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles... As well as the MMPWV NV-05s which sat idling nearby, their diesel engines humming against a backdrop of a tense atmosphere. "Come on! Let's move, move, move!" The rather large and burly Novoya pulled himself onto the roof of an SIV-25 IFV and glanced down to a small group of assembled NCOs... "Serj, Mischa, and Ivan, come on up! The rest, pile inside... We're heading to an area about forty miles north of here to rendezvous with a..." He paused to retrieve the commander's name... "A... Feldmarshal Fourth Class Hepplen... Yeah. If there's any other questions, contact the colonel, I think he's back in that 25C." He pointed to a SIV-25 which had a few more antennaes than normal. The numerous radio antennae were needed, however, in combat, they could be removed so it looked the same as any other SIV-25, in order to protect the vital command crew.

Senior Sergeant Mikhail Biznikov quickly shouted over the roar of a nearby fast-moving ST-29A1, "Nah, he caught a ride on one of those new Cobas! Those things are taking him and about three hundred infantry up to the rendezvous point... Probably be there within five minutes if they go as fast as they say they can."

Novoya nodded, "Alright, let's go, relay the info to the rest of your soldiers, and tell it to whoever else you need." He waved them off as he quickly planted himself on a ventilator unit on the top of the SIV-25, he set his SR-90A1 assault rifle across his lap as he adjusted his helmet. Biznikov, Sergei Reshniy, and Ivan Hekterov quickly climbed aboard, joining the Command Sergeant atop the SIV-25, which jerked forward and maneuvered towards a designated roadway.

Soon enough, the SIV-25 was soon in lead, behind it arrayed a massive convoy of armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, cargo trucks, light utility vehicles, tanks, and other logistical vehicles. Overhead flew nearly a hundred attack and transport helicopters, lugging a few hundred airborne cavalry, members sent over courtesy of the 41st Airborne Cavalry Regiment.

They would arrive at their point of designation in about an hour and fifteen to twenty minutes in order to rendezvous with the North Germanian Feldmarshal Fourth Class Hepplen and his 19 Panzerwehr Korps. This was the first time Soviet Bloc forces had ever been deployed alongside North Germanian forces, even though the two had been allies for a long time.

As the convoy exited the confines of their rallying point, they passed a series of North Germanian checkpoints. Soviet Bloc infantrymen, sitting atop their carrier vehicle, snapped off a few waves as they passed by, a few raising their SR-90A1s in the air. Each Soviet Bloc airborne infantryman was decked out with the VEPR NGCS next generation infantry combat system, which was a state of the art situational awareness system tied in with a direct neural interface and an under-suit which had microfibers in it capable of enhancing the wearer's strength four-fold. A few of the vehicles had miniature Soviet Bloc flags waving furiously from their positions, usually on a radio antenna... The navy blue background, the golden eagle, the lightning bolt and arrows in its talons, the stars above its head. All of it was something each Soviet Bloc soldier adored, but was obviously foreign to most everyone else.

The force awaited its arrival at its point of destination...

==================

Meanwhile, thirty four MV-87A Coba VTOL turbofan transport aircraft had taken off a few minutes before the land forces began making way. Aboard the craft were nearly four hundred air cavalry soldiers and a few dozen special security agents along with the command staff which included Marshal Evgeniy Komrosky, although he would take off a few minutes afterwards, along with a few advisors and security personnel.

The MV-87As took a fraction of the time it took the ground forces, they were there and preparing to land in twenty minutes opposed to the ground force's hour and a half long journey. The MV-87As, preparing for landing, gradually slowed down from their previous six hundred mile per hour flight as they lowered altitude. After reaching a slower speed, the exhausts of the twin turbofans (which were mounted above the wing), slowly swiveled down, providing direct vertical thrust. As they locked into place, twin lift fans ignited, providing lift in the forward areas of the wing. Pitch, yaw, and roll vents opened up, allowing full maneuverability. The aircraft, likely in full view of North Germanian forces, quickly descended, the landing gear sliding out as the aircraft lowered itself past any tree line into a clearing. The rear ramp quickly opened, revealing a ceiling mounted, hydrualically driven, crew-served GAU-8A mini-gun. The command staff within quickly hustled out, under the cover of forces which had alread landed. A few of the MV-87s, designated as the -D variant, hauled a few MMPV NV-05s in their extended fuselages. One of the NV-05s would accomade the command staff as they rode towards whatever command center had been assembled here, where they could meet this Feldmarshal Fourth Class Hepplen.

The rest of the VTOL transports landed and disembarked their forces, with most of the transports returning to their staging point, the airfield at which they had landed initially. A few however, stayed, most being MV-87A gunship variants, with racks of ATGMs hanging underneath their wings along with 57mm rocket pods. Their five man crews (pilot, co-pilot/WSO, navigator/communications, crew chief, load master) were offering any North Germanians (as well as any other nationality soldier) a free ride in the aircraft for no fee, just their token of friendship as they were the new guys around...

As the Soviet Bloc forces landed at the rendezvous point, roughly 40 miles North of Salzburg and in artillery range of Germany, they spotted a concrete bunker with two SAM sites on top, and two Kormoran GPS-guided missile launchers on its left and right side.

The forward base was huge, nearly three square miles.

Dozens of columns of supply trucks, tanks, IFVs, APCs, and various other vehicles were poised in strike position.

Behind them were two of the massive 800mm 'Gustav' artillery cannons. Along with these beasts of weaponry, were countless other various artillery guns, MLRS's, and GPS-guided missile trucks.

Attack and transport helicopters resting on helopads littered the field. The 550,000 infantry, support, and logistics personnel were performing countless maintenance operations and preparing to launch the spearhead.

A man from the large concrete command bunker in the standard grey Feldmarshal's trenchcoat emerged. It was Hepplen. Several Unteroffiziers followed him as he approached the Soviet Bloc forces...

Feldmarshal Fourth Class Hepplen: "Welcome to the forward base, gentlemen. I look forward to fighting alongside you. The initial assault should begin soon, we are only waiting for the command order from Großfeldmarshal Kahn to come in. Thanks for joining us. Make yourselves at home. The cooks are making dinner as we speak."

It was done. After many hours of intense movement to get everything into position for the assault it was done. The war machines switched off their engines, the troops bedded down in anticipation and the Preparation Room quietened, silently waiting for the call to strike.

Operations at the Layartebian fleets were commenced. E-2C Hawkeye aircraft were up in the sky eyeing it for the fleet, whose sensors were completely off. The E-2C was using simple passive detection as well, there was no need to alert the entire North Sea it was there. Submarines and surface ships were using their passive sonars to comb the depths of the seas and even the surface for traffic, primarily hostile traffic, but thus far, nothing had come about. BARCAP flights were up around each carrier and included F-14E Super Tomcats and F-22N Raptors, all armed with AIM-9X Sidewinder, AIM-120D AMRAAM, and AIM-179C BVRAAM missiles. Only time could tell...

My newest friend, the Emperor of The Order of Reptiles, you have sent forces to Lithuania in support of North Germania. As soon as news of the Blitzkrieg against Aequatio is received by High Command in The WIck, we are almost certain they will launch a counter-assault.

OOC: The title is "Supreme Overlord". We long ago ditched Emperor in favor of our much cooler current title.

Secret IC:

Indeed, we have been preparing for such an event. While our troops currently in Lithuania are on the highest alert already, we are sending over one million, one hundred and seventy thousand additional infantry, Nephilim, and armor to annihilate any foolish enough to retaliate. Rest assured that none shall take Lithuania while we have soldiers based there.

We are also sending in a two million infantry and armor, to be placed as you wish to reinforce your borders. We would like to emphasize that the time is not right for an invasion.

On the matter of a nuclear threat, however, we will handle things adequately. We are sending in a force of four thousand Archangel interception fighter planes to keep your skies clear. These may be based wherever you deem necessary. We will also be sending in two thousand of our latest Mobile Weapons Battery design, a modification on the old MWBAA. It is armed solely with laser and sattelite guided missiles and has an anti-missile range of over one and a half thousand kilometers. This is fairly short, but with their numbers and strategic placement potential, they will easily suffice. Their effectiveness is rated at 93.9% individually. In groups, they easily make 99.4%. Place them in groups of three or four. We will also be sending in personnel that have been trained to use these MWBs. We request that they, like all our other army personnel, are treated with respect and cooperation.

This being said, we wish you luck. Keep in mind that the second a nuclear missile is launched, an invasion on your territory (Or ours, for that matter), or any other act of hostility takes place, we will be on the enemy's doorstep with fifteen million angered soldiers and ruthless Nephilim. You may feel quite secure about your northern territories, which we have the honor of guarding for you while you prepare for other matters.

We will be monitoring the situation closely. Telegram us if you have any requests or updates.

8,000 Archangel fighter planes
46,000 M109A10 PaladinXS Heavy Armor
84,000 TORMF S-19 Hellspawn Heavy Suppression Vehicle (anti infantry armor)
387,500 Nephilim

Forces being sent to other North Germanian areas
1,100,000 Regular Army (600,000 support)
700,000 Nephilim
100,000 M109A10 PaladinXS Heavy Armors
4,000 Archangels
2,000 Mobile Weapon Batteries (Missile Defense)

Dohleim Military Airbase
Odense, Denmark

As the last Hawdawg Stratolifter landed General Thomas Simms surveyed his troops. At his disposal was the "Special" Rapid Deployment Force from Kermit AFB. The newly formed Urban Combat Divisions Compton and Watts were busy unloading equipment and material necessary for the impending offensive into Germany. The RDF was first to land at this forward base, as they were the most combat ready force in the Hawdawg Arsenal when North Germania called for help. The two Urban Combat Divisions would take several days to get all there gear and men into position for a possible move. This was totally acceptable as they could be used to mop-up any resistance in towns the main forces bypassed in a move to take control of as much territory as possible. There services wouldn't be needed in the beginning phases of this battle. General Simms sent Colonel Fitz, his trusted envoy, to link up with the PanzerKorps outside of town and discuss strategy with his counterpart from the North Germanian Army.

_________________________________________________________________

FieldMarshal 4th Class Stahleim's Office of Operations

"Hello" General Simms said to the menacing-looking FieldMarshal, "I am General Simms and I was told by my superiors you are my contact for this Theater of Operation here in Odense" The General saluted his counterpart.
"I have brought elements of our Rapid Deployment Force and (2) Urban Combat Divisions with me. The RDF has been dispatched to the designated rally point outside of Odense with my envoy Colonel Fitz. He is instructed to discuss strategy with his counterpart upon arrival. I also bring notice of the Marine Expeditonary Forces impending invasion of the town of Keil. We have two Marine Expeditionary Forces that are stationed off the coast of Lolland Island and are awaiting strike orders. Our Marine Commander has used some intel provided from a very reliable source that points to us using Strande NE of Keil as an assault point. We will move south along the coast and seize the Friedrichsor Fortress at the narrows of the Forde. We expect light resistance from local forces as most will be pulled to the border to fend off the land attack. We are wiring this battle plan to Layatreb Naval Command to ask for Shore Support from her fleet. We fully expect to take Kiel in less than a week. This foothold will enable a pincher move to be placed on the enemy forces in the center. We plan to bomb Kiel for two days before landing our forces on Strande beaches. If this is acceptable, we will implement it FieldMarshal." General Simms waited for a reply.

_________________________________________________________________

Off the coast of Lolland Island

HMS Splinter
WASP Class Assault Ship

"Gentlemen here is the plan" Hawdawg Marine Commander fired up his LCD projector for all the NOCOM's to see. "We plan to take Kiel. Yes, it is a large task, but enemy forces will be pre-occupied with the land invasion and will most certainly leave a token force in Kiel. We will assault the town of Strande and move south along the shoreline roads to the Fortress of Friedrichsort at the narrows. Once we capture the Fortress we will have control of sea access to Kiel. Nothing will travel into or out of the Port without us knowing about it. Once we establish a beachhead the objective is to seize the fortress then bring in the specialists for urban combat. Any quesitons men? We go as soon as we get the word. Good luck, now go brief your men." The Marine Commander dismissed his NOCOM's to spread the word.

Polish-Belarusan border, near Krynki
A flight of six A-10 Thunderbolt IIs flew along the Polish-Belarusan border, looking for trouble. They were on CAP, although not against enemy fighters. They didn't have any AA weaponry, only their GAU-8 Avenger 30mm Gatling cannon, which was intended for use against ground vehicles and structures. The leader of the 952rd Tactical Attack Squadron was LtCol Stevenson, a pilot with 17 years of experience, and even combat experience in Sicily, flew the lead plane in the formation that was designated Whiskey flight.

"Whiskey flight, Whiskey lead. We'll split up and have some fun. Don't stray into enemy territory. We'll preform mock runs against the enemy border-crossings. Never less then 2 kliks from the border, got it, over?"

The planes split up into three formations, two in each. The first flight, lead by LtCol Stevenson, headed for the border crossing at Krynki. They'd fly low and fast, 400 knots at 150 meters and decending, prime attack conditions for the GAU-8 in the nose of the aircraft.

http://www.abbotsfordairshow.com/2002/a10-1.jpg
Whiskey 1 and 2

2,4 kilometers out, the planes broke off their attack, hoping that they'd given the Aquatians a good scare. Perhaps this would help preventing them from making any more attacks on North Germania, and consequently Cotland.

Forming up with the rest of the planes, they finished their CAP before they headed for the base at Baranavichy, where the rest of the wing were based. As soon as they captured another airfield, the wing would move there. The closer to the front, the faster they could get to the action.

OOC: Hey guys, I'd like to ask that any possible bombings of Polish or German cities be restricted to military positions, headquarters, factories, airbases, etc.

I want no unnecessary damage to the population or structures. Not that I care about Geneva Convention, overkill, blah blah; I just don't want to have to spend more money and dedicate more manpower to rebuilding than is necessary.

---------------------

Ok, to talk about what's going on here: if Aequatio doesn't respond here VERY soon, I'm going to ask that Germany and Poland be GIVEN to me and none of this military build-up even occured.

As far as The WIck is concerned, he's still an aggressor. I had my wicked eyes on his land anyway. Those interested, hop on the bandwagon: we're invading his land, damnit!

In either cases, there are always other nations who are active that we can RP a good war with. Perhaps somewhere in Asia or the Pacific.

I've got a friend on NS - whose name I won't name - may want to join in on Earth II who doesn't RP much anymore, but said he was interested. If so, he'll need a pretty damn big chunk of land. Given this, I might need to claim it.

I'll work something out with him and decide on what lands he wants.

Concerning Operation Grey Storm
Aequatio has been inactive for 9 days. He has been on prior to this and was on in the times of the war and was part of the original Belarus thread so incompetiance is not an excuse. However, given his absence I cannot really do anything yet. This is why Decree 12 is unofficially in place so that it gets tested and we find loop-holes. This is one of them! The Wick was on 21 hours ago (at the time of this post) so he is well aware. Both have been telegrammed about this but just to clear it up I too have telegramed both of them. We'll see what time brings.

Sorry, schoolwork has kept me much more busy than first expected. My free time has been eaten up by work and the few video games I play. While I'm not ignoring the situation (I will respond) I just can't at this moment, give me a few days and I'll get something together to post.

And most of ya seem to put a lot of stock into hard numbers and huge army so we will see how that compares to my style which is more about the story, but really i do laugh at the people who seem to be able to deploy a million man army in only a couple posts, being in the real army i just find that kinda funny is all, enough of my babble....

IC: Half a million people stood in city square of Riga, 50,000 of them were Home Guardsmen, another hundred thousand were the troops of the Protector’s Own, the rest were citizens of all ages, sex, color, and creed, representative of the millions of Wickians who were at home watching the spectacle on fold on the Commonwealth News Network.

In front of an elevated stage a large band sat dressed in the Dress Blue uniform of the Commonwealth Military College, with its elegant Napoleonic style. The played the emotional and inspiring Steadholder’s March as Nika Tumanova, Protector of the Commonwealth took the stage.

The few times before this crisis that the public saw their leader she was always dressed elegantly in loose flowing garments her face painted white with a red beauty mark on the middle of her lower lip, custom for any upper class WIckian woman during the old days. Her look this day was much different much more foreboding.

She marked to the stage not dressed in any such elegant gowns no, she wore the formfitting riding leathers dress uniform of the 21st Light Dragoons, one of the premier Calvary units of the army, with a rich history. The protector like all citizen was required to serve four years in the military or civil service, the 21st was her old unit. Her face was painted black with a red tear under her left eye, the mark of remembrance for comrades fallen. The Protector’s broadsword was sheathed to her back. Everything was silent as she stood behind the podium then she spoke, her soprano voice sang out to all those gathered.

“My people we have reached a moment of truth, a pivotal point in our history, what we do from here shall determine our nation’s fate. I need not tell all of you about the forces gathered outside our nation’s frontier, or the millions of troops massed out side of Aequatio. Such a build up can only bring one thing, invasion.” She said gravelly.

“But why? There is no logical answer for this result. The government of North Germania has proposed to the world’s nations propaganda and blatant lies as their pretense for this military build up, and the alliance they belong to has swallowed that bait hook, line, and sinker.” She paused before continuing.

“Our nation spoke out against these lies and we shall quite possibly receive the brunt of an invasion force as a result. The nation’s massing along our borders want only one thing, new lands, they are imperialists. Such nations tend to forget the price that is paid by such expansion. I was watching one general of the massing troops deliver an inspiration speech, he told his men,

"I want you to remember, that no bastard ever won a war by dieing for his country. He won it, by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country"

"This is what our enemies spout as their gospel, what they forget to take into account is that their enemy, “us”, we are not poor dumb bastards, we are loyal and willing members of our sovereign country. We are doctors, teachers, mechanics, mothers, and fathers and they would invade our country and spill our life’s blood only to expand their territory on some map!” She cried the last out loudly.

“I plead with the nations of the world to see the blatant aggression against our nation and that of Aequatio and to take measures to stop it, for it is the right thing to do, we are in the right. Our enemies should not make the mistake of thinking our pleas for peace as a sign of weakness, should they invade I know all of you will do your full duty to the Commonwealth and I am so very proud of you all. We shall not surrender, we shall not back down, we shall fight the enemies at our borders, and in our fields, in our cities, and should we fall, we shall haught them in their dreams!” The crowd was cheering at this point now she waited until they quieted before continuing.

“I pray that it doesn’t come to that conclusion however and to that end I call upon all the government involved in this crisis to a peace summit to be held in the Hague, we must give peace a chance. Until then stay strong my people, steel yourselves, harden your resolve, for now the star of liberty shines upon the Commonwealth, let not its aura be extinguished!” The crowd now cheered louder then ever, as a squadron of X-35 Joint Strike Fighters roared by in a thundering sonic boom.

ooc: YAY! At last.

ic: The Cots were in position along the Polish-Belarusan border, itching to get underway. The officers had promised them the weekend in Warsaw, so they would do their utmost. The first units to open fire would be the M2001 Crusaders and the M270 MLRS units, followed by an assault from the air combined with a thrust from mechanized infantry and armor. The Poles wouldn't be able to hold them up for long.

The Emperor looked at the transmission from Riga. The Protector had given a fiery speech. Too bad that most of those troops would be dead in a few weeks, along with a lot of Cottish and allied troops as well, if the analysts were correct in their calculations. The WIckian defenses were heavy, but the Cottish A-10s and AC-130s would give them a good fight. The pilots all had combat experience from Sicily, and knew how to preform under fire. The only thing the Emperor feared was that the WIckians got thru the air defence patrols the Layartebians and Germanians had promised to set up.

Baranavichy Military Airbase
Lieutenant Colonel Stevenson looked at the planes in his squadron. They were all prepared for combat. The latest intel said that the attack would commence, and the 952rd Tactical Attack Squadron 'Dirty Bastards' would be above the front lines from the start. They would fly two and two, equipped with 6x Mk 82 500 lbs bombs, 4x AGM-65 Mavericks and 1x Countermeasure Chaff pod each, in addition to their 30mm GAU-8/A Gatling cannon capable of firing 3900 rounds per minute, each round well capable of defeating most ground targets, tanks included. "Ok people. Listen up. We're going to be flying across the frontlines, taking out targets of opportunities. No I repeat no civilian targets are to be engaged. Military and strategic targets only. That means that we are limited to military positions, factories, hqs, etcetra. I also want to remind you all of what General Vaughn told me a while ago: I want you to remember, that no bastard ever won a war by dieing for his country. He won it, by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country. Remember that, and you will be ok. The Germanians are going to be flying CSAR missions if it's needed. Let's go out there and make sure that it's not nessicary. Make Cotland proud people. We lift off in 4 hours. Good luck, and Godspeed." The men and women of the 952nd walked over to their respective planes and started on the preflight checks and talked with the maintenance crews. The morale was high, and LtCol Stevenson just hoped that they would all make it back home in one piece.

19-02-2005, 10:20
OOC: Ok, it seems as though I'll have to clarify some painfully obvious things here for you, Wicky:

1) I never called you an aggressor OOC.

2) NG has put forces along your border because you placed forces FIRST. You were never part of the invasion plan, until you made that move.

3) I would not underestimate the military of North Germania to numbers alone. There is a world of things that you simply do not know about, as far as our use of technology and strategics are concerned.

4) While I respect the fact that you are in the military, as you have said, it does not mean that you are infallibly correct concerning aspects of the military, notably a foreign military.

Consider the following:

A) 70% of all male citizens of Germania are required to join the military at age 18 and serve a mandatory 6 years,

B) There were already hundreds of thousands of soldiers in Belarus,

C) My population is over 2.84 billion which allows a large military,

D) My economy is strong enough to support a military of such proportions and develop technology that's years ahead of most other nations,

E) I called upon support from my allies and alliances concerning the possibility of large counter-assaults, not because I feared defeat from Aequatio or yourself alone. I should add as well, that The October Alliance offered military assistance. For what logical reason should I turn this down? There is no sense in risking defeat.

-----------------------------

Apart from this, just as a note, no nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons will be used against enemy forces, unless as a means of last hope.

By the way, that Eastern Empire isn't mine. I have absolutely no interest in the East. But thank you for your myopic comments, in any case.

IC:

Minsk, Belarus...

Großfeldmarshal Kahn, high commander of the European Campaigns, was discussing the current situation concerning The WIck with high commanding officers.

Translated from German:

Großfeldmarshal Kahn: This strangely attired Protectorate, Nika Tumanova, has called for a peace conference of all involved parties. I predict that the members of The October Alliance will ignore this offer.

However, you are to attend, Feldmarshal Heimer, but only on the condition that this conference be held in a neutral nation. You are to convince them that Germanian forces will not invade The WIck.

I will support your claim by pulling back some 150,000 soldiers from the border with The WIck. After this action, we are to propose that they remove forces from the border as well.

When they have done so, we will begin immediate bombardment of Wickish defenses by our new FKB-9 stealth bombers. As you know, gentlemen, at the proper altitude, it is impossible to detect by radar.

Our static Kormoran missile defense systems in Belarus and Lithuania will largely prevent any ground forces from successfully penetrating our territory.

This will further be supported by the static SAM sites in the area, and our new stealth fighter/bombers, the FKF-1s.

As you all know, our imagery satellites have been positioned over Wickish and Aequatian territory.

Once they detect a retaliatory strike, we will respond with a fast assault group. Roughly 5,000 Volksgrenadiers, 45,000 Reichswehr Imperial Guards, and a moderate number of IFVs, Predator anti-tank vehicles, Panther-IX medium tanks, our new multi-purpose armoured vehicles, the Panzer-X's*, mobile Kormoran missile vehicles, and MLRS vehicles.

This attack force will be supported further by forces of The Order of Reptiles, stationed in Belarus and possibly air support from Layarteb.

Any questions?

The Feldmarshals and Hochgenerals remained silent.

Großfeldmarshal Kahn: "Good. Then it is agreed upon. I will send a message to The Wick Protectorate."

Subject: Peace Conference

"To the esteemed Nika Tumanova, we agree to send a representative to this proposed peace conference under two conditions:

1) That the conference be held in neutral territory.

2) A small bodyguard escort group (eight SPK Ops) will accompany our representative, Gustav Heimer.

If these conditions are suitable to you, we should agree upon a neutral party in which to hold this conference.

As a sign of our goodwill, I am currently removing 15,000 Border Guards and 150 Infantry Fighting Vehicles and Tanks from our borders.

If the peace conference goes well, an additional 82,000 Border Guards and 300 IFVs and Tanks will be removed from the borders.

A mutual removal of border guards after the conference should be held. If it is agreed upon, a total of 150,000 border guards will then be moved to peacetime positions.

I hope you accept our terms and offers of hopeful peace.

Best regards,
Großfeldmarshal Kahn."

The Virginia NSSN Class snuck beneath the waves of the Baltic Sea. She was loaded with 12 RGM-176C Tomahawk II cruise missiles, 20 MK-55 ADCAP II torpedoes, and 6 UGM-84G Harpoon anti-ship missiles. News of the peace conference came down to her through VLF and she was still on station. Two of the RGM-176Cs were already ready to fire, their target being a major command site inside Riga. All they needed to do was push the button and that site would be obliterated.

LtCol Stevenson strapped himself in inside the titanum cockpit of his A-10. The plane with tail number 02-95201 was the lead plane of the 952nd Squadron and was virtually new, having been constructed in 2002. The GAU-8/A Avenger Gatling cannon in the nose looked really vicious. As did the six Mk-82 bombs and four AGM-65 Maverick anti-tank missiles. Taxing to the far edge of the runway, Stevenson prepared mentaly for the onslaught to come. He'd been in the action before, in Sicily when the Carthaginian terrorists and deserters attacked. He fought viciously there, killing seventeen enemy tanks and numerous other vehicles and enemies before he was shot down and wounded. Not again. Not again!
The Order of Reptiles

I shouldn't even have to point this out, but this is a Secret IC

I call this meeting of the Order of the Reptile to order.

A little less than one hundred of the highest ranking officials in the Torian Dominion were seated in a dimly lit lecture room. There was no particular reason for the room to be dimly lit, but everyone present agreed that it added to the prestige and mystery of being a part of the world's oldest secret organization. In some areas the darkness was broken by the red tip of a lit cigarrette, or by the room's little light dancing off of the glasses or decorations of the various officers present.

You know why we are here, so I will get right to business. There are peace talks occuring between the North Germanians, our allies, and The Wick's government. Normally, this would be advantageous for all involved. However, tensions are much too high in this part of the world for any kind of diplomacy to work. The presence of nearly three million of our troops are not helping matters. That is fine, as we have already agreed that we are not moving an inch until the issue is truly settled. The exception to our agreement not to move is in the event of an invasion, in which event we will move but one direction: forward.

I shall be blunt, gentlemen: The negotiations will be short. Short and bloody. Take is from one who has seen these things go on for centuries. While both sides agree that peace is preferable, neither side is truly willing to back down.

A dark figure in the back raised a confident, lazy hand.

Supreme Overlord. If I may, what is the contingency plan if peace does occur?

An interesting question, but not a huge problem. You must understand, High Templar, that even if peace does occur, it is likely that our eager ally will go ahead and invade Aequatio anyway. The only difference is that we will be taking more of a support role, and The WIck will no longer be a part of the equation. In any case, as long as we have fine wines, Cuban cigars, and the world's largest ground force, we will be doing fairly well.

There was a light chuckle from most of the assembled members. The mood was lightening up considerably, and many had taken to lighting their own Cuban cigars and pouring their own glasses of fine Torian wine.

Let us end this discussion, then. Mephistopheles, Dumah, Hemah, Overseers Neitzche and Grobenfeld, High Templar Numel, and Nephilim D'erphellkhand 01437 "Neitsreiken", you are to fly immediately to the territory of Lithuania and prepare the troops stationed there for a Blitzkreig invasion. I have already sent word to our comrades stationed in North Germania that they are to make similar preparations. The rest of you, you are charged with safeguarding our nation and preparing for a possible counter-invasion.

Gentlemen, God be with you. This meeting of the Order of the Reptile is now adjourned.

Every man in the room bowed his head, raised his glass, and toasted to good fortune in the days ahead. They wasted no further time in leaving the room and going about their assigned duties. Leon Alexei Adler headed to his private section of the Citadel to give his North Germanian friends the news that the Dominion was now preparing for an invasion, in case the talks went badly. In either case, they were prepared to go to war with Aequatio and totally annihilate the enemies of the Torian Dominion and its allies.

OOC: No change in deployed forces, except that they are now prepared for a rapid, hard-hitting invasion. By the way, can you kids keep the OOC nonsense out of here? I swear NG said that there was an OOC thread for you guys to vent in.

Re: Peace Conference

Großfeldmarshal Kahn I am glad to here that the peace conference will go through, given the state of conflict I can not pull out any of the defensive units emplaced along the border, however to prove this is a sincere bid for piece we are willing to hold the conference in any nation, perhaps Cotland?

There is also one more condition that Aequatio be invited also what point is there for peace for my nation when my ally is sacrificed?

If this Conference goes through perhaps then a lowered state of readiness will be justified on my nation’s part but at the current moment we can not justify and reduction of our defensive force.

Sincerely,

Protector Nika Tumanova

Kahn was sitting in his command base, where he had received the reply from Protectorate Tumanova.

He thought to himself,

"They will only lower defenses if we sign a peace agreement with Aequatio. The Reichschancellor will not approve. I must contact him."

He picked up the black phone and punched in the digits to the Reichschancellor's office in Brest, Belarus.

"Reichschancellor Einheit speaking."

"Herr Einheit, it is Kahn. I have just now received a reply from the Protectorate of The WIck stating that if conditions of peace are not established with Aequatio, then they will not remove any forces from the border."

"Very well, Kahn. Do not remove any of our forces from the border. Change their positions to attack formation. Send one last telegram. You know what to tell them."

"Jawohl, mein Führer."

Kahn hung up the phone and sat silently for a moment. He did not want things to go this way. However, the Reichschancellor had given him a direct order. Thus, he sent a telegram to The Protectorate of The WIck.

Message to: Allies of Germania
Message from: Großfeldmarshal Kahn
Subject: Invasion of The Wick

"I thank you all for your support. However, there are specifics that I must address:

A) I request that Layarteb's Naval Forces in the area block off any attempt by The Wick to launch a strike against Germanian naval vessels in the area. Our submarines and aircraft carriers of course will be assisting.

B) I request that the Pyschotikan Naval Forces outside of Wickish waters carry out similar operations as Layarteb has been requested to do. Our submarines will be assisting you.

C) Cotland, I request that your strong attack forces stay idle in case our forces are overwhelmed in Latvia. In the event that they are, I am requesting that you immediately knock down their attack force.

Apart from this, I request that you keep a strong supply line running to the front lines. The Rachau Supply/Command Post in Utena, Lithuania. It is roughly 60 miles from the border with Latvia, where the main strike force will be launched.

D) The Order of Reptiles, I am requesting that your ground forces move as one with mine, in both Lithuania and Belarus. If any troop relocations need to be made, let them be done now."

Battle Plan:

"Gentlemen, as you all know this fight will not be easy. We are fighting a concentrated enemy force in a concentrated enemy area. Therefore, an immediate Blitzkrieg styled attack would be a suicide motion for our soldiers.

However, I have spoken with our top strategists and have agreed upon a battle plan. While it is to our disadvantage that the enemy is so heavily concentrated, it is also to our advantage that they are.

We will begin the strike will a large GPS-guided missile and artillery barrage, supported by air operations using ultra-stealth bombers and ultra-stealth fighter/bombers.

Germania is taking no risks in taking heavy losses this early in the war. Therefore, we will be using only the most stealthy aircraft in the Lüftwaffe.

I request that if you are taking place in the air bombardment, that you establish a radar signature and radio wave signal with Germanian aircraft. Otherwise, you will be viewed as hostile, as there is no other way to make a distinction.

As well as these two, there will be a large sea bombardment from Germanian battleships, missile ships, and bombardment submarines.

After the bombardment, the Blitzkrieg will then commence.

The primary assault will be launched from Panevezys, Lithuania and will strike straight into the heart of Latvia. The strike will move in-between the two Latvian towns of Jelgava - to the West, and Jekabpils - to the East.

Once we are centered between the two, the Blitzkrieg group will break off into two groups - one headed West towards Jalgava and the other headed East towards Jekabpils.

As soon as these forces have broken off, a strike from Hrodna, Belarus will close off any attempt from the enemy to launch a counterstrike from the Northeast.

60% of the ground forces will be launched from Panevezys, Lithuania and the other 40% will be launched from Hrodna, Belarus.

Pyschotika, I am requesting that you launch your sea invasion at Liepaja, Latvia. This will create three fronts for the enemy to deal with.

To simplify:

Step 1: Bombardment of defenses and troops by land, air, and sea.

Step 2: Blitzkrieg from Panevezys, Lithuania.

Step 3: Break-up of Blitzkrieg to attack and secure the Latvian towns of Jalgava and Jekabpils.

Step 4: Additional ground strike from Hrodna, Belarus.

Step 5: Secure the city of Liepaja, Latvia and open a sea-based supply center.

Step 6: Re-organize forces and capture the capital of Riga. Expect it to be heavily guarded.

This is extremely important, gentlemen, and I suggest that you commit these locations to memory. After the capital of Latvia is taken, we will organize a plan on the invasion of Estonia, which we calculate will be much more heavily defended.

Germanian forces will be using old Saxon tactics - burn and kill anything in your path, take whatever is left that can be used to your advantage.

Keep in mind it's snowing and pretty damn cold, so if any of your soldiers aren't accustomed to this climate, make sure they're clothed properly.

Any questions?"

C) Cotland, I request that your strong attack forces stay idle in case our forces are overwhelmed in Latvia. In the event that they are, I am requesting that you immediately knock down their attack force.

The Cottish ground forces shall remain behind, waiting for your orders. Our A-10s will fly strafing missions and assist any allied fores requesting help. We do need allied air cover for the A-10s though. They will be carrying ground-ordinance only, so they cannot defend themselves against enemy planes. As for the weather conditions, Cottish troops are well trained in artic environments, and dressed and equipped acordingly.

The Rim League
21-02-2005, 04:27
In a massive hall called “The Court of Government” was where representatives of the Provinces of The Sovereign Military Republic of The Rim League gathered to debate about defending the Wick against North Germania and its Allies, there was little to debate.

My General, these fools show no respect to the Wicks sovereignty or for peace talks!
Declared representative Yura Birlew of Norrbotten(P).
We must show them their mistakes with force!
I agree My General, sir. Added Titus Steiner of Stockholm(L)
They would surly come for us next, they are like Wolves sire, they will soon be howling at the doorstep of this nation after they finished dealing with the Wick and their allies, we must join them now or we will join them in hell!
All at once everyone started shouting in response.
“Order!” came the booming voice of William Sterling the speaker of the house.
Silence came as the Commander General rose.

Commander General James Wong-Shu nodded grimly thinking, “We must do this now or my people will suffer like the Wicks people.”
Make the statement let them know that they have awakened a great sleeping dragon that will not tolerate these acts.

To: North Germania and its Allies
From: Commander General James Wong-Shu of The Sovereign Military Republic of The Rim League

Ladies and Gentlemen, it has come to the attention of this nation, that nations near my region are engaging in war against others for no substantial reason are to this government as unethical and petty acts of greed and ignorance. THIS nation will not tolerate these actions any further! The fact that ships of war from this alliance have been reported to be moving near my nation’s borders is unacceptable! In reaction to actions you and your allies I stand by Wick and their far more honorable allies.

End this war, or WE will end it for you.

Message from: Reichschancellor Einheit, III

"Declaring war on North Germania and its allies would be an irrevocable mistake, and upon doing so, I would be forced to initiate the Völkerwanderung, or 'Migration of the People'.

Commander General James Wong-Shu, do you forget what forces our allies have not mobilised?

Have you considered the fact that given the size of this attack fleet, it is still no match if North Germania decides to fully mobilise a full counterstrike fleet?

Have you considered that Layarteb's fleet is quite comparable?

Have you considered your location and the sheer impossibility to launch a successful counter-motion?

Do you even understand our government or culture?

I assure you that no obfuscations have been made towards you, and furthermore your nation has had no relevancy to Germania whatsoever.

No, it is not North Germania that is ignorant, dear Sir, but yourself.

If you have studied your maps and determined where the fleets are located, they are not even near your borders.

If this is an act to defend The Wick, it is understandable. If this is an act to prevent what you assume will be an invasion of your lands, it is YOU who are ignorant and, might I add, quite myopic.

If these forces are mobilised, it will be seen as an act of war and you will soon find a force that God himself cannot stop at your borders.

I will give you one warning to back down, or you will face certain annihilation.

Consider this:

Allies of North Germania:

The October Alliance
The Roman Confederacy
Layarteb
Pyschotika
Andrehervia
Cotland
Hawdawg
The Order of Reptiles
Soviet Bloc
Rome

And the list continues further.

Do not make this mistake, Commander. North Germania wishes for neutrality with your nation and we will make no mobilisations of any form towards your sovereign lands.

Regards,
Reichschancellor Wilhelm Einheit, III"

IC: "Baltic to provide make or break situation for Hartian"

(The Roman Free Press- Opinion)

Last year, when Rodin Hartian was campaigning fervently against then-Emperor Paul XII, the Roman Empire was a largely isolationist state, looking the other way when wars were happening all around it. Utter chaos was erupting barely beyond its borders, sending the lives of hundreds of millions of people into the deep pits of despair, yet Rome, who had enjoyed thousands of years of prosperity, would constantly look the other way. Even for people who don't believe that Rome should take over the world, they wanted Rome to become the diplomatic leader it had been in the 20th century, being the voice of reason in a world that seemed bent on destroying itself.

Enter Hartian, then, who last year promised to return Rome to that glorious state. "The world shouldn't live in chaos," he said famously in Aelana (OOC: modern Al-Aqaba). "We have lived for generations in peace. Let us then, bring the rest of the world that peace," he would again say in Lausanne. When Paul didn't as much as reply to these statements, voters flocked to Hartian believing he'd be the grand diplomat everyone hoped he'd be.

Instead, since he came to power on All Saints' Day, 2004, Hartian has shown himself to be a bit of a warlord, the kind of person who'd rather command and conquer instead of bring about change peacefully, and he's botching the job. The invasion of Texas is taking far too long, and with more of a cost to Rome than people had hoped. Instead of working with nations who have problems, Hartian takes them over. While he hasn't taken the oppresive route yet, this does set a very dangerous precedent for the Roman people, who know far too well from The Collapse (OOC: the 5th century) the dangers of fighting everyone instead of working with everyone. He may have united the Mediterranean with the Roman Confederacy, ensuring that he's at least willing to work with those around him, but he cannot stop there- if he's to make friends, he needs to make them worldwide. In short, Hartian may be resting too much on his laurels instead of bringing the peace he was supposed to bring.

However, now is the time for Hartian to change all that and become the man he promised to be. He can either choose to be the haribringer of chaos to untold millions- the very thing Romans everywhere did not want- or be the leader in averting a potentially dangerous situation, saving the lives of millions. Perhaps at some other time Rome the Conqueror may need to show up, but now Rome the Diplomat is needed, and not a moment too soon.

OOC: Oh, guys, I got some news from Layarteb. The Rim League is not a member of Earth II, and apparently has not been for quite some time.

Under Decree 12, he lost his land and it was snatched up.

So, Rim League, you're technically not in this Earth and technically, that fleet never existed.

Everyone, let's get back to what we were doing.

In exchange, a portion of the invaded land. Western Germany preferably.

No he wouldn't. You guys all have that confused. 14 days doesn't mean 14 days, it means that if you have NEVER been active in E2 then if you go to 14 days of NS inactivity (rather than 21) you will have your land able for invasion.

Ah. Okay. Still, though, it's annoying that we have an invasion all ready to go and he's not doing anything.

The upshot to that is if in RL, say Bulgaria (not to pick on them, this is just an example) gets invaded by Britain, the US, China, Russia, Israel, Egypt, Syria, North Korea, Iran, Mexico, Italy and Sweden, they can't just ignore it- they have to deal with it. Same thing with Aequatio here: this is an invasion of his territories by about five or six nations, all of whom are very strong. Yes, it's daunting, but he still has to deal with it. Just how RL nations can't get out of war Aequatio can't either.

Well I guess that settles that. I understand your frustration Aequatio, if that was the case you should have said something earlier. I think everyone here is a reasonable person. That really is too bad, I was looking forward to how this would play out on two fronts. I would offer this advice, lets not bicker about land, etc. until the situation with th WIck is handled. There will be time for all of that once the war is over.

Hey, hey, hey...settle down. We're (or at least I'm) not here to make this a life-or-death situation, and I certainly don't want to ostracize you for this, because in the grand scheme of things NS isn't that important. Personal issues are much more important than NS and I understand that. Take your time okay. I'd rather not get into a tizzy over such a trivial matter.

"In a shocking turn of events, the government of Aequatio, previously thought to be planning a strong operation against North Germanian forces has released a statement of surrender. Even before any shots were fired, the Aequatian government has announced that they will abdicate and flee their capital. This aversion of war is, by far, the first of such in this world (Earth II). This surprising turn of events means that now both Poland and Germany are in North Germanian hands. While the war with The Wickian Estonia & Latvia continues, we bring you live to..."

That was it, it was over. Before anything even began, the government of Aequatio fled and North Germainian officials would be placing Germany and Poland under their direct control.
