OOC Apology: Decisive Action

I imagine the first thing everyone will wonder at is "why is that jerk, Iuthia apologising to Decisive Action", a very legitimate question really, given that this is probably one of the few times, if not the first time I'm made a thread with the express perpose of apologising to another player. However in this case I would like to make an exception.

For a relatively long period now I've roleplayed sparingly with Decisive Action (I never really roleplayed with Communist Mississippi, the Feminany Incident was the beginning of any real contact between the two nations) mostly concentrating on various condemnations, confirmations and various unimportant diplomacy designed to either clarify a position or express my nations dislike for a course of action. As far as in character is concerns there are little problems as we are both acting as we believe our nations would in character.

Out of character however, things are alot more problematic due to the fact that I'm pretty opinionated when it comes down to roleplay etiquette and general realism. Many an time I've made a quick OOC comment regarding the things I concider highly unrealistic or particularely unfair, examples ranging many threads and even in some cases welcomed by a few, though more often then not argued and in some cases outright flamed.

A fair number of these comments I would make would be in threads I'm simply not even involved in, something which is ironic concidering my opinions regarding RP etiquette. Simply commenting on someones RP without being involved became a habit as while it's not often welcome, it's at least respectful in the majority of cases. Where I've crossed the line is when I've actually been asked not to post OOC in Decisive Actions threads, something I had for a period of time reduced to a rare occasion... most of my complaints are either obvious or they can be respresented in In Character reactions.

However, all threads concidered I haven't stopped and even today when I deleted my comment instead, I know I've gone a little far now. To be fair, there are alot of threads, you can look at almost every page on the International Incidents forum and find a Decisive Action thread, the majority of these I've bite my tongue on, haven't read or otherwise ignored them... though I've still made at least two such OOC comments recently, not including a tag. One of which I deleted after posting, the other actually telling someone else not to get personal while making my own OOC opinion known.

These, and several a fair while before them, while respectful in their content were not respectful in their being in a In Character thread which I was respectfully asked not to post them in, as such I'm clearly in the wrong to do so, which is what I would like to apologise for.

*Looks at the post so far.* Well, thats the long bothersome way of putting it, the simple and easy way of saying it is:

I'm sorry for posting OOC crap in the middle of your In Character threads. Clearly they are distruptive and I'll make a point of keeping my opinion to out of your threads at least as far as OOC is concerned (unless of course it's actually asked for).

Of course, In Character I'm not changing, afterall... IC is ruled by it's own IC laws and are subject to IC responces. This is simply about cutting out the OOC bull I post in your threads. Not that the OOC comments aren't on topic and relevent, it's just not the right place to do it.

As other other threads? Well I'll try and keep it on topic and IC where possible, though there are times when clarification is useful and I feel that most of the time it's justified... though when it comes to something close to harressment like in this case, feel free to tell me to back off a little.

*sighs* Surprised? Well, as much of a bastard that I am, I'm not a complete bastard and I'll admit that I'm wrong occasionally... but remember, I don't think my opinion was wrong, just that my opinion was in the wrong place.

Thanks,

Pete (Iuthia/Free Iuthia)

Oh, please note that turning this apology into a flamefest is something I won't accept and that the minute I think this thread is going down hill I will get a moderater to lock it.

OOC: Wow. First time I've seen something like this in a long time of lurking and RPing here. Good for you that you've chosen to come clean like this. I wish everyone was so willing to learn, adapt, and move on. Good luck with this new turn!

I wouldn't call it a new turn as such, more of a out right admittance of something I should have said a while back. Usually my OOC crap comes from reading something which I find silly or annoying and then ranting about it when I know I shouldn't... often I'll edit it just after to remove the more aggressive comments (I never flame but it can be rather close with some of it) or even delete it alltogether. Sometimes I go to post and then delete it afterwards before posting it because I realise it's not my business.

I think of it as a bad habit I'm trying to quit... a thread like this damn near forces me to quit.

Oh, and you don't have to add "OOC" because this thread is pretty much all out of character. In Character the nation Iuthia hasn't changed it's stance one bit as would be very much like them...

Don't beat yourself up for it, it's not really a big deal, although I suppose it does get rather annoying after a time.

See, people seem to think that one player can know it all, that's my problem, people criticize some of the things I do. One person over MSN, asked me for a cellular description of how the IG Virus and Racially Specific Virus, work. My first answer was, "I'm not a ------- doctor, how do you think I know such a detailed thing."

I mean, really, I've never held people to such a, "explain this or else" level. We have to remember, to a degree, things here aren't quite always real like they are in the real world.

But I'm going off on a tangent here, you don't need to go making any apology threads, TG or IM works.

But anyway, I don't hold nothing agin' you, so don't feel bad about it or anything like that.

OOC-specific posts should not be posted in II. A TG works, or an email, or a post on NS(TG him the link if he doesn't frequent that forum).
