Official Statement from the UCTCR:
A report by the UCTCR government today addressed the issue of international shipping and its impact on the world as a whole. Minister of Finances Elias Mondablado announced today that the UCTCR would be taking a vested interest in International trade. "International shipping changes ecosystems, economies, and culture. Today the state-owned Yukos/MOil Joint Oil Conglomerate controls over 15% of the world's oil and LNG shipping. An investigation of the shipping lines when compared to the world average finds YMJOC-ran shipping to be the cleanest, most unobtrusive industry." The UCTCR government, in connection with the state-owned YMJOC announced today that there is a vested interest in purchasing additional shipping companies. Any variety of industry is under scrutiny, and the YMJOC is prepared to cover for the workers that may decide to work for the YMJOC. (END)

V. Ilyenov sat on his patio where he is having a lemonade with the Minister of Finances, "Horatio, do you expect a large amount of companies willing to sell?"

Horatio leaned forward towards the Premier's ear--he was beginning to become hard of hearing-- "Comrade Premier, I expect that several companies will, at the very least, offer us stock in their trade."

"Yes, but how quickly will we be able to possess a large percentage of international shipping?"

"It all depends on the countries considering selling. We have the funds, there is no doubt. Yet I fear that too many companies will cling onto their companies by limited the amount of stock we could purchase."

"Perhaps we will have to find partners in our venture, Horatio."

"Comrade?"

"Carnegie could not be Carnegie without Frick...."
