This is RNN news, your number one source for news in Ratheia...
Today, February 4th, there will be a mass execution of roughly 1,500 members of the organization known as "Ratheians for God".
After several violent protests during which three Ratheian citizens were killed and one member of the Ratheian Parliament took a gunshot wound to the arm, the Government has finally decided to act. Labeled as "incompetent" and "soft" by the Fascist Political Party, the Ratheian Parliament in conjunction with the President have authorized the arrest and execution of the all members of "Ratheians For God". This comes as a surprise to most of the public, because Ratheia is not known to quell protests in such a violent manner. However, with a 82% approval rating from the people, the Government has little to fear.
The Government has announced that the exeuctions will be done using fuel-air explosives, in order to test their effectiveness. Twenty Ratheian Commandoes will practice using their RPO-A Shmel Handheld Rockets on the protestors. Some see this as a warning to others who had stated that Ratheia "is too weak too take care of it's problems".
And others see this as a transition, as President Zaitsev resigns and Ratheian elections take place. A transition from the more controlled system of the Zaitsev Administration, to a Militarized Government possibly headed by Yura Gruzinich, Minister of Defense.
