Czarina poses for RG Officers magazine: Selected as ideal of MS Anglo-Saxon beauty

Ooc-

Mature and sane comments only please. No crap. Thank you.

And yes, MS has always had magazines of nudity, for Armed forces officers, mostly. Anyway, this is just basically a step on the way to a movement more towards the glorification of the aryan/anglo-saxon ideals of beauty and civilization.

Ic-

With the approval of the Czar, after he saw the first issue, for his eyes only, he agreed to let the magazine be mass produced and sold for domestic use only, no foreign exportation of the April 2005 issue would be allowed. The penalty would be death.

Also the SRGIO and DISDB would be making sure no pictures of the Czarina were sent over the Internet. The pictures would only be kept in Mississippi and the Federated Commonwealth.

The magazine, "RG Times" which sells about 5,000,000 copies per month, primarily to the 300,000 officers in the RG, SRG, and RGISA, and their families and some enlisted men has announced that sales of the 10-dollar April 2005 issue topped 400,000,000. They sold more magazines in one month than they had in the last 5 years.

The Czarina, was clearly pictured in the magazine, in various poses, some partially nude, some fully nude. One of the pictures involved her lying on the Czar's favorite bearskin rug, another, lying stretched out on the desk in his office.

The Czarina, Alice Fabus, commented on her posing for the magazine, saying, “They told me they wanted the ideal of Mississippian feminine beauty, and that explains why they came to me first.”

The Czar commented on the matter, saying, “What can I say, Alice is a beautiful woman and is the personification of our ideal of the beauty of white civilization and white womanhood. No, I’m not upset with her for posing like that, she wanted to, it wasn’t anything too serious, and it’s not like she’d walk around like that in public, besides, the magazine has featured nude women in every issue… Indeed, since they were searching for the ideal of Mississippian beauty, it was just a matter of time before they asked Alice to pose…”

Noblemen all across Mississippi have asked the magazine company if there will be any further issues with the Czarina, the magazine company, after asking the Czarina, informed the nobles and other inquirers, that the answer is “no”, and that the Czarina’s posing was primarily a gift for the Czar since she knew he subscribed to the magazine which normally just contains tactics and stories about various RG battles, a sort of “Solider of Fortune” magazine.

If they try to export it, 1) they won't be successful (online is being clamped down and monitored) (and they can't physically get it out) 2) they'd be hanged.

But yes, they personally can see it, and comment, but nobody physically outside of MS will ever see it.

Dear Czarina,

I saw your recent pin-ups in RG Officers magazines, and I must say, I do not recall ever beholding a woman as lovely as yourself. Being happily married, you needn't worry, I'm not trying to flirt. Moreover, I wouldn't want the Czar to...well, anyway. I was wondering if you would autograph my copy of the magazine? It will never leave Mississippian soil, of course.
Take care.

Sincerely,

"I really don't think it is, there is no so such thing as a sex magazine, you will not find a single solitary magazine in the Mississippian Federation which shows anything that resembles a sex act. There are about three, if I recall, three, magazines in the entire Federation, which are licensed and authorized to have pictures of nudity, the RG Officer's magazine is one of them. It is not a sex magazine since the main point is issues important to the Republican Guard."

Ooc- Bad idea...

Ic-

As soon as the SRGIO spy equipment detected what was being sent, they jammed the transmission and stopped it, then began the tracking, within seconds they had figured out it had originated from the Roach Busters embassy. Immediately the alarm was raised at the nearest SRG base and the SRGIO directed them to send a platoon to the embassy in question, and peacefully ask for the doctor to be sent out, to be arrested and fined, not executed, since the Czar was feeling merciful. But if they had to, they'd get him out with force.

Something out of the corner of his eye immediately caught his attention: a platoon of Mississippian soldiers approaching the embassy.
He looked around, searching for any means of escape.
None. He was trapped.

I have looked through this issue and of course found the articles very interesting as well as the other content (Which seemed to be the main selling point) to be very surprising. I am surprised that, as undoubtedly beautiful that she may be, the Czarina would expose herself in such a manner and through this outlet.

In my personal opinion an exquisite figure such as the Czarina's belongs on a canvas rather than in a magazine. However I wish the best to you and the Czar.

He wanted to buy the magazine, but then again, it would probably get confiscated by the bastards at the gate. His guard were capable of taking on the Mississippian inbreds, but...he had orders not to cause an incident. He considered the magazine illustration. The Tzarina was quite beautiful, really...

He liked drawing, at times. It helped keep his mind off things -- like how a Weyrean more or less willingly ended up in fascist state. That he was drawing the Tzarina hadn't become apparent until he finished the sketch on his rod-logic persCom, disconnected from all external feeds as per regulation, incapable of sending or receiving any transmissions. Photoshop really was a beautiful thing. He wondered, what to do with it. A memento, nothing more. His cultural attaché dropped off a stack of papers.

The real offices were in the depths of the compound, away from windows and with vent systems that made slight ambient noises and twisted and wound to prevent bugs. Personal radios kept up a constant stream of music to deter the millions of Weyrs' worth of bugs that the locals had probably poured into the walls. That a Weyrean persCom gave off none of the traceable magnetic signatures associated with more traditional computers was a benefit very few really took into account. Rod logic really was a beautiful thing.

"Someone's obsessed," the attaché chuckled, noticing the picture. "Might as well send it out." The Weyrean embassy in Mississippi employed no locals -- the security risk was deemed to high. Screening, and the fact that those in Weyr following a one-God religion were kept out of the Diplomatic Service's foreign directorate, was just an additional layer.

The ambassador logged into the secure server at the heard of the embassy structure to check the evening's traffic. But before that he encrypted his outgoing transmission. A pair of keys, a fingerprint check, and a pass code opened the safe built into his desk. He selected the half-day's code disk, used only by him, inserted it into the old CD drive. Encrypted once, he shoved in another disk, encrypted the data again. Each code disk was an electronic one-time pad, obtained from background radiation hitting Terra. The server would use its own brand of encryption. The two disks also existed in copy at Central, in possession of the Consul-General Josiah Willard Gibbs himself. There were only two disks in existence, ever. The Diplomatic service made sure of that. Its staff could not be bribed, or intimidated. The ambassador brought in the disks into a nation in a diplomatic pouch handcuffed to his arm. Once done, he walked over and shoved the disks into a microwave, then shredded them.

Forty two minutes later, the server at central locked onto the Weyrean commSat via an antenna dish on the roof, and sent a quantum-encrypted data burst.

As the satellite was detected attempting to communicate with Mississippian based structures, it became the target of a Mississippian anti-satellite missile system, and six missiles were immediately fired against it, as jamming signals were put out to keep it from doing anything against or over Mississippian territory, since MS had long made it known it would not tolerate such actions.

Please no infiltration of my embassy. Were you not such an ideological extreme, it would have been fully possible. ASATs are like nukes - they need to get into space and deliver a warhead, but this time they have to deliver it to such a huge degree of accuracy and whilst everything is moving that things are even more difficult... so an ASAT could easily cost $100,000,000. Add to this that most nations with any sense use their ABM networks to defend their sats and your policy is very unlikely to work...

OOC: They you should have said so in the first place, back wehn I first used them. It -is- a bad idea to shoot down other people's satellites but...we'll leave that for another thread. I can use the indigenous Mississippian network for the same purpose. Satellites are a dime a dozen, well...not really...but for Weyr it's not a big loss. *Edits post*

>>>Connection lost
>>>Rerouting along indigenous landline
>>>Route complete
>>>Disconnecting...

The server lost connection, as the satellite was blown from the sky. Molecular gears clicked into place. It hooked into the local data network, after disconnecting from every persCom in the embassy, and sent the same databurst as before, save that it took it a bit longer.

The strict prohibition on taking the magazine would have been a big problem. And so, no Callisdrunian could find a way to bring the magazine out. Not the magazine itself, that is. However, a young Embassy secretary, Lars, happened to be an art major, and, seemingly as compensation for his complete lack of social skills (the reason why he was a secretary, and not a more important position), allergies, large nose and problems with acne, he was gifted with a photographic memory.

Now, Lars had come across the magazine the previous day. He had also been made fully aware of the consequences of taking the magazine out of Mississippi, as had everyone in the embassy. However, his stint in the embassy ended that week, and as he gazed at the picture in thought (he wasn't particularly aroused by the picture of the Czarina, as he had a whole stack of issues of Succubi magazine under his bed), he realized that he wouldn't have to physically bring the magazine out of the embassy. No one in the embassy knew he had a photographic memory, or any talent for art. He went largely unnoticed. He thought on this as he stared at the picture for another hour, committing it to memory.

By sunday, he was back in Gothenburg, Callisdrun, making preliminary sketches. In less than a week, he had a work that looked almost photographic in quality, and was almost entirely accurate. As soon as he was done, he had friends over.

After learning of the actions by some on their staff, mainly the ambassador, the Czar decided he had no choice but to act. Immediately an entire brigade from a division assigned to garrison the embassy regions of Jackson City, was issued orders to surround the embassy and then hold positions while three platoons of MSAAS along with over two hundred police, including K-9 units, conducted a thorough search of the entire embassy.

Anybody in the embassy would surely notice all the noise as the over 144 T-98 tanks and 32 G-6 SPA were taking up positions around the embassy, grinding to a halt once they were in their appointed positions. Also the BMP-3s, over 500 of them, would be hard to miss. It was an entire mechanized infantry brigade supported by large elements of an armored brigade and a self-propelled artillery regiment.

The commander of the brigade, was trying to raise the ambassador and the commander of the embassy guard detail, which wasn't more than 20 men, on the radio. He knew they wouldn't put up a fight, totally surrounded as they were, and with over 12 Mi-24s on station to provide fire support if necessary.

The helicopters blades cut through the sky as they continued to circle around the area, not going directly over the embassy, but keeping a safe and as yet, unthreatening, distance.

The commander continued trying to raise them on the radio, he was going to politely but firmly, order them to stand down and let the embassy be searched for contraband.

Satellites were funny things. They were reasonably cheap, especially when made of subpar materials. Of course, the Hack had its share of extremely advanced satellites, but it also had what were called "cardboard sats".

The sad truth was that they pretty much were made of cardboard. Of course, they were a little more durable, but they were certainly disposable satallites. The Hack had never intended to build this sort of thing, but it was a necessary evil, what with all the nations that seemed to have a fetish for shooting down satellites. There was still pride in their work, of course; even the disposables had the pin point resolution, they were just cheaper to toss into space, and no big loss when shot down.

They also carried no markings.

They were also used for 'barbaric' nations.

They were also currently all over the place above CM.

They also had good enough resolution to peer right in through a person's window.

...and they were always transmitting data.

Sentient Peoples
05-02-2005, 17:44
High over head, a single satellite watched the lands below. Its cameras were always on, and it caught something that had to be seen to be believed. Especially since Intelligence Division had been told to watch Weyr a little more closely. And now there was a Weyrian embassy surrounded by what looked to be an infantry brigade plus heavy support.

Which was ridiculous. That two hundred acres could've been just as easily taken by a quarter as many men and material. Except they were not taking it, just blockading it. It really was quite odd. The satellite continue taking footage and stills at its centimeter to pixel resolution.

Back deep within the Intelligence Division headquarters, reports from a number of sources were quickly being collected, and an absurd picture was coming together.

Of course, they knew of the extreme racism and the absurd role of women in the society, and they knew that the Weyrian obviously had to be trying to transmit or smuggle something out of the embassy. Probably transmit, since they had seen a satellite get torn apart.

But Cortana liked games, and she was head of ID, and so she sent some simple commands to the satellite. Firstly, its active defenses came online, and then it's drive, which slowed it, then moved it to a powered stationary orbit. And it sat there, defenses online, broadcasting its message in the clear, as the rest of the PA and HA satellite grid adjusted to accomodate the new positioning.

You may transmit unsecured data through me. You may transmit unsecured data through me. You may transmit...

Earth System Orbital 17, Thelasi Grid 2353 slowly floated over Decisive Action, the EA monitoring it nearly freaked out—or the electronic equivalent thereof—when it saw the in bound Sat-Kill missiles, but milliseconds later, the Electronic Awareness determined that the missiles were targeting something else, and it went back to passive viewing.

You see, ESO 17 was one of fifty Thelasi orbital stations left behind after the Empire moved off of Earth, and took to the Stars, and as such, it wasn’t the newest, or best, orbital system in the fleet, but it still was serviceable. The satellite activated it’s gravity drives, and began positioning itself over Decisive Action. It sat, monitoring the space around it—including the ground—and watched for threats and so on.

The station was especially suspicious after seeing the Weyrian model blown to shreds, though it wasn’t sentient, the EA felt a pang of remorse, like one would feel for a dog that had been killed—it was a fellow computer after all.

ESO 17’s EA wasn’t worried about Satellite Killers, the station had enough defense guns, and armor to make it a pain in the ass to destroy, and also, the EA didn’t really care if the station was destroyed, it wasn’t really housed on any single one of the ESOs, rather, it was on all of them at the same time.

Going back to it’s mission, the satellite began to monitor the received transmissions, including what appeared to be half of an image that was being sent through a long range airborne internet system, [I]Even with half of this… eww… well, the techies will be glad to see this… and they’ll want the other half too…”

Either way, I’ willing to accept a minor spy within the general embassy staff if you’re willing to RP him/her.

Ten minutes after incident

Defense Attaché and Captain of the small infantry platoon assigned to the embassy was just settling down for the night when the fire bell began to pound out the General Quarters code used aboard Service ships. She didn't need this, she muttered, amidst a constant stream of profanities, pulling on her work coverall. She knew the schedule for the drills; this wasn't the right time.

Ambassador, what's the deal?" she burst into the embassy's de-facto CIC, also known as the security room. Eyes flashing, turquoise hair seeming to glow beneath fluorescent lights, she looked like the proverbial witch from hell.

"Idiots've started something. First they blasted a commSat, now this. CommSat shouldn’t have been used in the first place -- must've been a bug in the code -- but this," he watched the two guard at the (still open) embassy gate stand there, seven feet of high-grade personal armor. That he had something to do with it never even crossed his mind.

"Sers, they're trying to contact us," the chief on station said suddenly, activating the speaker system.

"Fine. Tell them to fuck off. In fact, you do it." the Ambassador said after a moment.

"A pleasure," Jo grinned. The Defense Attaché picked up the mike. "Piss off. Either give us a reason to fucking let you in, or stay the fuck out."

"Nice," one of the Guard chuckled.

"Right. I want two teams at the gate," Jo suddenly tuned serious. "One by the roof. One here. You two, sweep the place for anyone not already in the residences. Ambassador, I suggest you start purging. Team to the gate, follow me.

Fifteen minutes after incident

He watched the tanks rumble past his post. It wasn't a comforting thought to know that a Grenadier could survive a point-blank shot from a tank sabot. Corporal Greer had seen the hamburger mush that medics pulled from suits after those blasts. A suit could survive a direct impact. The person inside couldn't. He switched to amps. Infrared and millimeter-wave radar stabbed out into the early night, capturing the armed soldiers and tanks before him in sharp relief.

No machine gun is permitted regardless of caliber, only rifles (ie, Galil, M-16, G-36, etc) Only two of the guards may have rifles, the rest may have either pistols or sub-machine guns.

"How's life, corporal?" the Captain's voice cut through the grumble of tanks and chopper beats, seeming to sound within his own head. She was the only one carrying a real weapon; only two rifles were permitted under embassy regulations. Needle pistols, built into the suit gauntlets, and EMK-42 submachine guns were the only other weapon available. This made for seven EMK-42 submachine guns and two low-power rifles against over a hundred tanks.

"Not bad," Greer replied/ "Got a little party brewing."

"Right. I SAID IT ONCE AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN. PRODUCE A DECENT REASON OR GET THE FUCK OUT," Jo blasted on her armor's external boomer. "Idiots." she hooked back into the platoon data net. To the outside world, she was just another Grenadier captain, green optical lenses seeming to glow with unearthly light as she surveyed the gathering forces, flanked by four of the eight soldiers under her command. Ten meters behind her was the main embassy structure, its wood and steel doors closed but not locked.

"Twenty minutes ago, the Mississippian Commonwealth launched a first strike against one of our commSats over the Atlantic. There was a glitch in the new ware and the two tried to synch; it should've gone through a landline, but apparently they blocked that, too. CentCom decided it could've been a ballistic launch, so they alerted us immediately. Fifteen minutes ago we got Commonwealth forces around our embassy demanding entry." the officer on watch at the situation center quickly spoke, filling in the Consul-General on the situation. "We already have drafts of a response. The ambassador's got a tight beam microwave uplink. He says they can hold out, but...we're talking upwards of two hundred craft here. Six thousand soldiers. I have the Admiral running scenarios for extraction, but the best still places us at six hours."

"Good," the Consul-General Josiah Willard Gibbs nodded, meanwhile scanning the data streams coming up at the center of the amphitheater-like situation center. "Give me the draft. We'll issue it in…say...ten minutes. What's out sat coverage?"

"I have three geoStatics on passive watch. Two mobiles will be going into flyby in half an hour."

Gibbs wondered what could have made the Commonwealth do something as blatant as try and invade an embassy.

Satellites were always trained at potential hotspots, and Mississippi was only one of them. Passive arrays on three satellites sitting at the equator locked their cameras onto a single city within that state, giving off no transmissions. Only a high-powered camera might have been able to detect the little lenses thousands of kilometers above the planet surface.

Z.M.A.F. Enforcement Class Heavy Battle Station “Profit Margin”(1)

“WE HAVE CONFIRMED HOSTILE LAUNCH! I REPEAT HOSTILE LAUNCH!”

“Jesus Holy Christ on a aluminium crutch!” A shout rang out from somewhere in the battle station as the Fire control officer responded to what she saw.

The Fire control officer winced as she brought the pick up on one of the platforms IR telescopic cameras onto the command screen. Six I.R. trails were making there way skyward, behind them super heated gas could still be seen settling around the launch sites.

Captain Frank Jerome Johnson floated slowly back on his command chair in disbelief already typing out a series of commands on his console and access the stations PA.

“This is the captain, as of now we are at battle stations I repeat battle stations!”

Starring in horror he flicked open the fire control switch inserted his key and prepared to arm the stations weapons modules. Watching the missiles with a sort of sick horror he felt joy leap in his heart as one by one the tactical analysis programs identified the missiles course and construction as A-SATs.

“Find out what the hell are they could be shooting at” he snapped.

The female fire control officer shouted back “sir just a few more seconds!”

“Got it sir Weryian communications satellite sir the missiles are out of our range and that sat is about to be toast.”

Johnson swore and watched the monitor as the missiles made their approach to the satellite, he then grimaced as the spinning remains of communications satellite arced across the read out, each one plotted little red marks against the dark of the screen of new navigation hazards.

Sending an encoded point to point laser streaming text communications to central space command he summarised his situation.

To: Z.M.A.F. S-COM
From: Z.M.A.F. H.B.S. Profit Margin ID:394 AV

Six hostile launches detected, identified as A-SATs after 5 minutes 32 seconds, target Weryian communications satellite Z.M.A.F. space monitor command ID :A43AJ3993, Satellite destroyed. Will act in accordance to anti piracy and anti terrorism duties until further notice. Request further orders.

12 seconds later as he began plotting a new orbit he got his reply

To: Z.M.A.F. H.B.S. Profit Margin ID:394 AV
From: Z.M.A.F. S-COM

Orders as follows, suppress any further outgoing fire from hostile launch sites, send warning, situation is at your discretion. Refer to situation 20501 in your situation manual.

Generated and authorised by Air Marshall Carrie Peterson.

Stareing at the screen for a moment he then acted.

First he opened wide band radio communications with the projected launch sights.

“Unknown hostile launch sites this is the Z.M.A.F. heavy battle station “Profit Margin” you will immediately cease all active operations, you have fired upon civilian assets in neutral territory, I repeat, civilian assets, you will identify yourselves immediately and be warned that no further hostile launches will be tolerated ”

Snapping the communications closed he ordered a 3 minute burn to reposition the battle station over target even as the clear message “You may transmit unsecured data through me” began from a satellite above the target area.

Captain Johnson snarled, a sound that made everybody on the bridge shiver, “Find out what the hell those idiots are playing at down there ASAP! We have full access to the recon birds USE IT people!”

Outside the white hulls of the stations modules one by one the solar arrays folded away into ablative armoured sheaths, delicate communications and sensor systems that could be damaged where retracted back behind the faraday like cage of the stations structure. Then the entire structure juddered as the big main chemical rockets flared into life. Even as the gas flared out the stations weapons modules slid open, exposing racks of missiles, mini guns, satellite deployment systems, the barrels of kinetics deployment systems and at the corners of the stations rectangular structure the huge cooling finned framed flared muzzle of the stations four 800 Megawatt lasers.

Even as this happened in the distance dozens of smaller unmanned platforms were moving into support it, as even more kill satellites and SDI sats positioned themselves one by one to join the shifting orbits of the weapons the battle station serviced and controlled.

Meanwhile laser sound pick up systems began sleeting down over the entire of the nation in question, snippets of conversation bounced of a thousand windows snatched up by the now data hungry Space command staff as a dozen large hubble sized stealthy recon “birds” were repositioned to start very high definition observation of the entire country using mass, optical and deep radar scans. Every electromagnetic source from the common mobile phone to a military search radar on a fighter jet was logged even as the deep geological radar scans began highlighting every silo in the nation in question.

Fortunately, nobody in Mississippi, except for specially licensed people, had any sort of equipment for sending or receiving satellite signals. All of the equipment necessary was typically only ever licensed to upstanding party members. Since TMGH had no known operatives in the Federation, and since even if they did, it would be a feat to get the equipment, it was considered fine to allow the satellites to remain in place.

Should it be required, you may view logs stored by the Diplomatic Service of all data packets recieved and sent from Weyrean embassies. A link to the internet site has been provided with this message.

We have been informed that said communication may have been the result of a hardware or sotware glitch, and will be rectifying the problem as soon as the currend de-facto blockade of our embassy within Jackson City is terminated. Said communication, we are informed, should have been dispatched via landline, as was done in prior communications with the embassy.

Surely if you are spying on this individual to this extent you will know whether or not that magezine entered the Embassy. From the information presented so far it hasn't been established that the magezine had been taken into the embassy. Unless each and every diplomat who has taken seen a copy of this magezine is also suspect to of these crimes?

Foriegn Minister Mick Lakely.

"We have confirmed it entered the embassy, we are unsure as of yet as to what they did with it once it was taken inside... That is why we need to get inside, so we can figure out what exactly is going on."

Satellites were funny things. They could carry all sorts of things; transponders, communications equipment, cameras...

The few dozen disposable satellites that had been sent to cover CM formed a kind of orbital conga-line. They didn't carry anywhere near enough fuel to hover over a location, rather just enough to slightly adjust course. The cardboard sats slowly orbited the planet, one after another giving near continuous coverage of the nation.

They continually took, and transmitted pictures. The first couple that went by focused on nothing in particular; as time went on, they started focusing on much more interesting things: military installations and governmental buildings.

On the other side of the world, an old Daedalus satellite shifted ever so slightly in its path. The old satellite had almost been forgotten about, in all honesty, especially since most of them had been sent to Mercury, but there were still a few old ones from the test run in Earth orbit. The only thing going for them was their durability, which is why this dinosaur was still in orbit.

The DISFB, revived and eager for action after the Czar spared them from total destruction, settling for just sacking their top leaders and demanding recruitment reforms and more internal policing of their own activities by oversight committees, was tasked with gathering information on the man. They really had no reason, other than that he had been in Mississippi and the Czar was a paranoid man who only trusted a few select people.

On a plane heading for Callisdrun was a husband and wife DISFB team, they were playing a married couple vacationing in Callisdrun, indeed it did help that they were married and that they were technically on vacation, but still that hadn't stopped the DIS Command from giving them a major assignment, well not really major, or at least not of yet. But they liked to play-up all assignments and make them seem more important, even if they weren't really that important.

They'd be arriving in Callisdrun soon, having left from Paraguay, posing as Argentine nationals, most MS operatives used South American passports, typically Argentine, Chilean, Uruguayan, or Bolivian. These two would be claiming to be Argentines.

Perhaps one might have noticed that throughout the entire event, which by now had probably dragged on for over an hour, the two guards who regularly stood nightshift, although the armors were nearly indistinguishable from those of their comrades, had barely shifted from their normal positions at the gate posts, within Weyrean territory. In any case, the two soldiers stood there, covered by the captain and the other two members of the gate squad from before the embassy building's doors.

The head of the cultural department nodded as one of the go-getters employed by the embassy dumped a load of magazines, newspapers, and other assorted Mississippian printings on his desk.

"Here's the weekly cultural dump. Hope you like them today."

It was common practice for an embassy staffer to go down the street to the nearerst newstand, buy a copy of every published work in the place, and then handsomly tip the man running it. This had been going on since the day the embassy was set up, with a few articles of merit being sent back to Samtonia with the other hard-copy diplomatic documents that commonly moved in that way. All, of course, searched by Mississippians. But as they couldn't actually understand most of the writings from the ambassador back and forth, it didn't really matter all that much. Communications got through, articles were sent home, and valuable cultural lessons were gleaned from the readings. After all, how better to understand your ideological opposites than to see how they think?

The attache looked over the standard weekly issues, nodding as the usual articles flashed by. And then, seeing the nude pictures- as usual- within the RG magazine, he flipped past. Moments later, he flipped back. "It can't be. My God. It is. I have a feeling someone mght want to take a look at this."

Stunning, really, the size of a modern miniature camera. Digital camers, being prevalent and cheap, were used by staffers the world over to take pictures of Mississippian guards, standard daily activities, and birthday celebrations. And so, with his nice digital camera clicking away in the basement of the embassy, in the room designed to look over secure documents, with three radios and the tap water running to stifle bugs, pictures were taken.

Cultural Attache Hermes smiled. "This one's on the next flight home." And the action of concealing it began, away from cameras and bugs. It would be on the next flight out of Mississippi.

And indeed it was, concealed somewhere on the person of Joeseph Connard, 57, embassy worker tasked with carrying letters and documents back and forth from Mississippi to Samtonia. Today, he carried birthday cards, a few requests for some favorite Samtonian foods, and one set of pictures of a nude Czarina hidden somewhere on his person. His ailing person, as the pacemaker he wore attested. But he never shirked in duty and, indeed, didn't even know about the pictures or the punishment for carrying them. Had he, he would have gone through with the mission anyways.

And as Connard waited for the search that was to come, every electronics file having to do with the action was irrevocably purged back in the embassy. There would be no record.

Ooc- Don't you think you ought to have asked first? Since the Czar got paranoid, do you think that the magazine would continue to be in circulation at newstands? Besides, it is May 1st in my timeline, the april issues are all gone... Sorry, try again the next time the Czarina poses, which is, never. LOL (Don't worry though, there will are paintings of her in the nude, but they are in Roger's private art gallery at Stalingrad, so if you've got a few loony agents who have a death wish, they can try to sneak into Stalingrad, it might make a decent RP?)

The King and Prime Minister were holding their usual morning briefing. In the stack of papers that had been handed to the prime minister, most being relatively mundane, unimportant appropriations bills, was a photocopy. A photocopy of a painting. Wrinkling her face in thought, Anne said "Well, what have we here?" After reading a note paper clipped to it, she laughed and handed it to the king.

"What the Hel?" The King grinned when he read what the subject of the picture was. "If they know about this, they're not going to be pleased." He then went and tacked it on the wall of the closet.

Several minutes later, Prime Minister Eriksen hung up the phone. She had just ascertained where the picture had come from. Apparently, one of Lars' friends had been in the Navy. He had told his superior officer, during a conversation about "fascist bastards," (OOC: Callisdrun's military is very socialist/communist), and it had worked its way up the chain of command from there. The King was also on the phone, with Lars, who had just agreed to give the original to the government.

He took the train back home, reading a newspaper to busy himself.

In the King's office, he and Anne, the Prime Minister, admired the now framed painting that hung in the corner. "He really is a fine artist, too bad we can't put it somewhere more public."

"They're going to be mad already," Anne said. "If or when they find out."

The DISFB manager who was in charge of the department tasked with monitoring the phone calls for key personnel in Callisdrun exploded, a massive grin on his face. He had it, dynamite; he'd get a promotion for sure. Whatever they were up to, it wasn't good, he knew it couldn't be.

He raced forward from his desk and ran into the office of the district manager, who maintained an office in the building the monitoring department was located in. Luckily the district manager was in his office today.

The DISFB manager was jumping up and down like an excited puppy, his eyes wide and his face more appropriately described as a large smile, than as a face.

He quickly handed the papers to the district manager, who immediately began to go over them...

Lars felt mildly depressed. The King had assured him that if he valued his life at all, he had to hand over both his original painting and all the copies, and so he had. He didn't get what the big deal was, it was just a picture of a naked woman, not like anyone in Callisdrun didn't see one already, but the King had made it fairly clear that foreigners would probably come and he did not want to be found with any of the items on his person.

In the depths of the Mt. Agaden fortress, intelligence officials were busy at work. Something was odd about what would seem to be a normal phone call from the government. A call was placed to the king on a seldom used connection. "Sir, we have reason to believe that a recent phone call from your office might not have been secure. Yes. Yes, that's right. Roger, who was in South Africa, and in a rather bad mood (who is a good mood for a funeral, especially when he'd rather be in Mississippi getting ready to celebrate Alice's birthday which is in 3 days), had decided to call up the king of Callisdrun and lay down the law for him.

Roger picked up his cellular phone and began to dial...

Roger got right to the point, in a very calm, yet demanding tone, made it clear, "Hello, I know you're up to something, I think it involves images of my wife... And I'm not sure what exactly you're doing, but I want it stopped, do I make myself clear?" he asked.

All the copies, and the original were confiscated, by me personally."

"You just called me a pervert and threatened me. That would offend many people. However, I understand that you would be most distressed, at pictures of your wife in the nude surfacing in another country. But please, refrain from insulting me or threatening me further. We can both be cordial to each other. We're both royals."

Roger sighed, took a deep breath, and then said two words, "I'm sorry..." before he continued and said, "Yes, I'm sorry, please forgive me, I lost my temper, I owe you more respect than that. I am deeply sorry... But try to understand, so much has been happening, scandals in Western Sahara, governors running wild, an old friend of my father's, and a man I looked up to as the leader of our national industry, is dead... Alice's birthday is in several days and I'm stuck in South Africa and then I have to go to Tennessee right when I get back, at least for a few days... I'll be lucky to be able to spend an hour on her birthday with her..."

He sighed again, shaking his head, "You know, I really don't need all this at once... If you would just please name a price and sell me the paintings, we can put all this behind us, right?"

If they do not do so, and are caught... well, this country's never been one for summary executions, but perhaps in this case. An alternative, that would allow your nation to continue such operations inside my country, would be to allow my officers to conduct similar operations inside your nation." Haakon somehow managed to say all this without sounding at all accusatory. "I think this is a reasonable price. If you find both options wholly unpalatable, then we can find something else that would suffice, I'm sure. I'm flexible."

We are currently in the process of recalling our primary diplomatic staff from Mississippi in order to more carefully assess the situation and the validity of the accusations made against them, and may recall secondary dilomatic staff if needed at a later date. As such, there may be a temporary lapse in the Kingdom's ability to participate in Mississippian diplomatic events, negotiations, and conferences.

We request that Warrant Officers Brad Marley and Rin Takahashi be permited to lead the investigation within the Weyrean embassy in Jackson City, that they be permitted to question Mississippian embassy guards, and that they be granted access to the surveilance records that you have claimed as evidence against Weyrean diplomatic staff.

Sincerely,
Josiah Willard Gibbs
Consul-General
