JOSEPH II FEDERAL DISTRICT
With a stronger economy, and increased popualtion, and the largest military budget the nation has had in more than half a century, George Newmaker, Deputy Secretary of Defense, Army, has annouced a massive plan to overhaul the Triancian Army.

In a press conference early this afternoon, the Deputy Secretary stated that the Triancian Army would be looking for a complex package of gear to move them 'out of the 1970's, and into the new millenium'. When questioned on the purchase of experimental tanks and artillary from other nations in the past, the DS responded that it was found those technologies 'did not meet the needs of the new defensive situation' Triancia had found it self in, and stressed the need for a new, high tech and highly mobile Triancian Army.

Oppostion to the Army's plan comes from numerous sources, most prominantly, the Royal Triancian Marine Corps. General Richard Tulane, RTMC, stated the Triancian defensive structure made the Army a defesive force, and the Marines the primary offiensive branch.

"It's just unnessecary and costly." says Tulane. "The Army getting these new weapon systems is like taking the liver from the guy who needs a transplant, and giving it to a healty person! This is money the Royal Marines could use for the new technologies /they/ will need to survive in this century."

Also opposing is the Confederation of Triancian Labor, which issued a statment stating it's oppostion to Triancia's plan to seek these weapons from out of the country.

"We find it appaling that the current administration finds it nessecary to continully shy away from the great tradition of cooperation between Triancia's defenders and labors." The statment read in part.

Triancian Army official responded that all weapons systems would be produced in Triancia if at all possible, and that only costly research and development would take place out of country.

OOC: As you can probably tell, I'm looking for new technologies to outfit my Army. Fixed-Wing Aircraft, Ships, and Spacecraft need not apply at this time. You can point me to a store front, but please give me an example of the technology your offering, if you can.

The variety of weapons your offering is quite diverse, and for that I should commend you. A number of your items, in particular the STRV 90 and the Bamse Air Defense System, look like they would fufill the rolls stipled by the Defense 21 program. However, the fact that the production rights for these weapon systems cannot be attained would pose certain logistical and security problems, as well as increased protest by the labor groups here. While we will still consider your weapon systems, we must wait until furthur bids are entered, in order to find the best way to defend our nation.

And I am the Deputy Secretary of Defense, Army. The Secretary of Defense is Mr. Robert Wernick. I'm dealing with prospective clients currently. Robert will step in after the orders are confrimed.

Regards,
George Newmaker
Deputy Secretary of Defense, Army.

We are glad that you have found our products to your liking. The production rights can be negotiated, as we fully understand the logistical and security problems involved in refitting an entire army.
The Nieder Ostlandish goverment have given me the right to offer you a number off test vehicles/weapons (with instructors), for you to test under a period of time, if you so wish, so you better can decide if these are the weapons you want to chose for your armed forces

At Fort Miller, the National Testing Site for the Triancian military, the Army section is a buzz with the new toys they've recevied. After two months of exhaustive testing, a few of them are in the base's mess hall, sharing their thoughts.

"But that the problem, you see." A sergeant says. "It's has the gun on the same vechicle the troops travel in. Add to that the fact that the damn thing, in my opinion, throws treads every hour on the hour, and I can tell you why Command isn't going to accept it." He looks to a Warrant Officer at the table. "Ma'am, weren't you working with those, ahh... AK-5's?

The WO nods. "Yep. And their perfectly acceptable assault rifles." She takes a swig from her soda. "Which is why the Army won't take 'em. Hell, a TAK-92 has the same damn performence, almost, and, since our M16's got upgraded, I don't see a reason why we need the damn things. So I recommended no."

"Ahh, Hell, "A Sub-Sergeant pipes up. "I'm I the only one who had a good test cycle? Those Basme, man.." He shakes his head, in muted amazment. "The shoot down damn-near everything we threw at them. Planes, cruise missles, GBU's, SCUDs... Hell, you shoot an ICBM near one, it's gotta good chance 'a shooting it down. I think the Army's gonna try ta get ahold of production rights for those."

And, so the grunts talk, so it is for higher ups in the Army, who send a comminuque voicing their pleasure with the Basme, and questions on the aqquasation of production rights.

We're glad that the Bamse system was to your liking. We will soon have a cost proposal for the productions rights on the Bamse system.
Just a few questions first. With the Bamse system, do you want the pirahna surveilance system as well, or will you use your own?
And approx how many Bamses will be built every year?

Thank you

Best regards

By mating the Basme missile system to our mobile radar systems will save us on training funds, and might provide better effectivness.

We would plan an intial production phase of 1000 sets of missle systems, with an unknown amount of the missles themselves, as ordance must be replaced upon firing. We can make a guess of 200 systems produced every year, depending on how many are destroyed.

Ah, I see you are interested in upgrading your military. Well now, I offer you from the selection of our national arms market. All of the equipment we sell there is already in service with the armed forces of Dostanuot Loj.
Some equipment, such as the MCA-6C Medium Assault Tank for instance, has just recently entered service and is top of the line.
Normally, however, production rights are not sold out, but in light of your large need, and conditions, we may be able to negotiate that more to the liking of both parties involved. Provided of course, that you are interested.

The store is avalible here: Dostanuot Loj Storefront (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=382693).
And you need only scroll down past the Naval and Air units to reach the Land units.
