History: Karuchea was just an agricultural nation until a few decades ago when a Khmer Rouge-styled regime took over and began to impose a harsh rule and strong nationalism that allowed them to expand and militarily occupy Caytonka until that countries demise. A coup in the Communist Party allowed a strict Stalinist faction to take over and began a series of 5-year rapid industrialization plans that allowed them to expand and reach where they are today. The next generation of Communist leadership began to open a market economy, but was plagued by corruption and inflation as a result of the Capitalist economics. A military coup by Mohammed El-Shabazz seized power just recently and proclaimed to be following the Third Universal Theory and Islamic Socialism.
Politics: According to official statements the people all meet in local General People's Congresses to elect members to go to the Regional Council and National People's Congress. The National People's Congress is the highest body of the state and makes the laws which the Regional Councils make the choice whether to confirm and then enforces the law. The General People's Congresses can remove anyone in a higher Congress from power at any time. However, many say the real power is in the hands of the Committee for National Defence which controls the military and the secret police. All political parties are banned as a result of Islamic Socialism.
Leader: Mohammed El-Shabazz is the leader of Karuchea officially as Prime Minister of the National People's Congress, but his real power lies in his position as Chairman of the Committee for National Defence. Ever since seizing power the government has portrayed him as a kind, benevolent, yet strong leader who is simply there to guide the people in Socialism. While standards in all ways have improved, the Stalinist secret police have also improved and can do anything they want to as they are directly commanded by him. Critics call him a harsh Stalinist dictator, however, due to his brinkmanship policies of constantly going face-to-face with Western nations and his no-compromise attitude and strong Islamic beliefs he is quite popular across the entire Arab world and several countries in the region have attempted to model themselves according to the Islamic Socialist teachings of combining Islam, Socialism, Arab Nationalism and World Revolution. Inside Karuchea he has a large personality cult with people proclaiming he is the greatest Socialist theorist since Marx and Lenin and also the greatest Islamic warrior since Muhammed or Saladin.
Economy: Ever since Islamic Socialism was installed Karuchea's economy has begun to grow, with a focus on social-welfare the economy is designed to keep people happy, however, the rest of the money all goes into the military and police forces which are the keys to Mohammed El-Shabazz's reign. This also makes Karuchea have the best armed forces of any nation in it's region. With their focus on self-reliance they have a 89.5 billion dollar trade surplus and are by far the most advanced of the Islamic Socialist nations around it. They have a GDP Per Capita of $4,230. Their currency is, like all of the Islamic Socialist nations around them, the dinar. They recently signed a deal with Prachanda, Quezadria and Ganapathy to form a bloc called ARab COuntries for Mutual Economic Growth, AKA, ARCOMEG. This is an economic bloc designed to help the youngest Islamic Socialist nation, Ganapathy and the weakest Islamic Socialist nation, Quezadria build Socialism. It also consists of a military branch.
