TODAY'S NEWS FROM YAFOR 2

"I am Ian Walters and welcome to 'Today's News from Yafor 2.' Today, in a speech, Elected Duke Rudiv Sodo declared a list of nations which he would like to have as allies."

The camera zooms in on a TV. On it, clad in a tuxedo and looking very uncompfortable in it, is Yafor 2's 22-year-old Elected Duke Rudiv Sodo. He seems to have no fear, though those who know him well know better. The Elected Clears his throat and speaks.

"To the international communtiy as a whole:

Greetings. As Elected Duke of Yafor 2, I feel that I have an obligation to you to restarts meetings with foriegn nations, and so, today, I declare that I invite the nations of Pactalia, Praetonia, and Euroslavia to send delegates. We understand if they say no, but we hope they say yes."

The camera returns to Ian Walters.

"This announcement does not come as a surprise to educated viewers. It was obvious that the Yaforites were planning something, just what was the issue. We can only hope it succeeds. For now, and for 'Today's News From Yafor 2' I'm Ian Walters and I wish you a very good night."

IC: Cabinet War Rooms

"Item IV... Yafor 2 has invited delegates to visit their nation... from Praetonia, Pacitalia and Euroslavia," said the Party Chairman and Home Secretary, reading from a large file.

"Sounds fine," began the Foreign Secretary, frowning, "but who shall we send? It's too dangerous to send the PM or Deputy at a time of war, and sending a mere ambassador would be an insult."

"Quite right... perhaps you would like to go?" Said the Prime Minister, glancing at the Foreign Secretary from over his glasses.

"It would be an honour to go, Prime Minister, but as I said it's just too dangerous..."

"I think you should go. Have you eve left Praetonia before?" Interupted the PM. He'd be pleased to get rid of the Foreign Secretary for a bit - he was constantly giving reporters quotes that could be interpretted as anti-war, and he certainly didnt want large scale protests. Not that that seemed to be happening. The Praetonian people supported the war with great patriotism, but that would only last so long as we stayed on the winning side.

"Well... no," he admitted. To an outsider, it might seem odd that he had never left the country. Most Praetonians had never left, although most, including the Foreign Secretary, had visited the colonies, "In fact, I will go." He decided. It would probably win votes anyway.

Official Pacitalian Government Statement

Signore Duke Sodo -

We are honoured that you would choose Pacitalia as a start to increasing your foreign diplomatic relations. I will be more than happy to personally attend any seminars, conventions or talks you hold in your fair country. If you would be so kind, I would like a few more details on what you plan to accomplish. Regardless, I again thank you for your kindness and your people's positive, friendly attitude towards the people of Pacitalia.

OOC: Now here's a dilemma. In order for a representative of mine to enter this conference, there's needs to be a decision on which faction you are willing to support. Seeing as I'm in a massive civil war, the current leader, the Comrade, is a tad busy trying to maintain order. The factions vying for control are the Citizens Supporting Dictatorship, the United Christian Movement (Fundamentalist), and the Underground Democratic Movement (which really isn't Democratic, but you don't know that yet :-p). Pick one, and I'll send leadership.

OOC: Actually, I'm gonna choose the Citizens Supporting Democracy leader. You'll understand when it's over. ^.^ Sorry for the OOC clutter. Oh, by the way, I must warn you that Lady Destra (the former Empress of Euroslavia before Communism) is extremely irritable and closed-minded.

It is with great pleasure that I myself will be accepting your invitation to Yafor 2. As the candidate for the Citizens Supporting Dictatorship, I will be representing that faction. We hope that negotiations will be fruitful and the conference will be an overall success.

Lady Destra had already taken off in her plane and had begun her flight to Yafor 2. She wasn't exactly what you would call...nervous. The Lady was....well....a flat out bitch. After her exile from Euroslavia by the Communist government of Comrade Maloney and his fellows, she was out for blood... The ride to Yafor 2 was more bumpy than usual. Turbulence was a big problem, but it wasn't anything that disturbed either the pilot or the Lady. The flight was projected to be 9 hours, so she had a lot of time to plot revenge against the Comrade and the communist government, as well as forming relations with a nation she hadn't heard of quite often. She was certainly looking forward to seeing other delegates....ones that she has a decent amount of respect for.

9 Hours Later...

The plane touched down at the directed site, and Lady Destra walked out of the plane with no help from anyone else, lest they be...punched in the face. She waited until someone of power within Yafor 2 directed her to the site of the conference...

Major General Paulo Dogrod was an observant man. The military was everything for him, as he had had a childhood that would frighten many. Born up in a samll town on the outskirts of Ajer, the only plump boy in his class, he had been tease an tortured as badly as he could be. "Porky Dogrod" or "Porky Paulo" were his nicknames, as in Yafor 2, with the wealth of stragne names in the country, a nickname was a source of abelute torture for some.

Major General Dogrod was looking for a "Lady Destra." A woman walked out, looking prissy, anooyed, high-class, and everything the Major General though she would look like. Walking up to her, he spoke in soft tones, "I'm Major General Paulo Dogrod and I'm here to escort you, Lady Destra. Please follow me." Without waiting for her response, he strode off, hoping she would follow him.

"Oohh....I like a guy who takes charge." she smirked.

Lady Destra followed the man back to his limo. On the way there, lots of people gave the Lady stunned looks, as if she were proclaimed dead the day before. Her presence left an impact on everyone who seen her.

Once they reached his car, she hopped into the passenger seat, and patiently waited until they reached the place of the Conference...

Major General Dogrod ignored her. He drove swiftly, to the Conference Building, also known as the Granin Corporation Building. He arrived to see the other Major General outside, Arman Adro. He groaned. Major General Adro was the type of man Lady Destra would love.

"Hello." Arman Adro said.

Vasiliou Bandanaris left his Deputy Agustinate in charge of international relations while he left to Timiocato Isolamunicipa Airport for a private, but almost unbearably long flight to Ajer in Yafor 2.

"I hope they have good food there," he joked to his aides.

"I'm sure they will, sir. Right now, here's a few international briefs."

"Thanks," Vasiliou replied. He searched through them, "Hmm... riots in Ottoman Khaif, mobilisation readiness exercises in the Dominion of Dread Lady Nathicana and continued assaults on Roach-Busterian territory by the SAP coalition."

The plane arced north toward the host nation, soaring through the warm skies above the vast, deep, blue ocean.

Several hours later, after Vasiliou's third glass of ginger ale - it was getting warm inside the plane - the horseshoe shape of Yafor 2 appeared on the horizon with a glistening, clean white city planted between two mountains in the back curve of the horseshoe.

"Looks very pretty," Vasiliou said, quietly. "Not like Pacitalia, but beautiful in its own way."

One of the aides grunted in a sort of speech-free agreement.

They entered the semi-circle-like lagoon, which was a crisp light and clear blue as the depth became less and less. The airport approached ahead, the main runway glaring bright grey amongst the tall trees of the rainforests.

The airport seemed scrunched in quite close to the city and a few mountains to the east but the landing was smooth and uninterrupted. Getting out of the plane, down the metal steps, Vasiliou breathed in the warm but surprisingly dry air of a nation that should have been swamped with moisture in the air due to its location in the middle of the ocean.

They walked briskly through the light wind off the tarmac and into a waiting dark black limousine. Getting in, the car sped away and was on the airport carriage road within seconds and in the city in less than a minute and a half. Vasiliou's eyes didn't deceive him, the airport WAS really nestled in close to the city. Which, for a smaller city like Ajer, was perfectly all right.

OOC:Wow. I couldn't have described a plane flight to my nation any better. I AM IMPRESSED.

A security guard at the side of the airport quickly noticed Vasiliou, and guided him to the plain, white, limo lying on the side of the road. It was large and spacious, with room for many things. As they were presently on their way, the guard turned on the TV to watch the Yaforite soap opera, Koramnes. It was not as if he liked the show, but a Yaforite soccer game between the two best teams in the Imperial Yaforite National Soccer League(IYNSL), Ajer United and Remin United, was coming up next.

Luckily for him, the show was almost over. There were a few minutes of tearful weeping by long-haired women, some hidden scheming, and then, at last, the happy ending. He ignored it all, of course. He couldn't wait for the soccer game...

....which began soon enough. Ajer United was obviously the better team, though afte the 3-2 score at half-time, it was sort of hard to tell. Then it ocured to the security guard that he should make conversation, though it was a little late for that. "So...like soccer? It only occured to him that they might call it football in Pacitialia later.

She looked around the building, at all the different sculptures sitting around the entrance, and gave a groan of approval.

"So where's the conference room? Are the other delegates here?"

The guard nodded sagely. "I thought you did. Anyway, the weather hasn't been too bad, windsotrms were to the south. We would usually be in Ajer by now, but the traffic is unbearable." He said, chaging the subject.

A long, sleek Praetojet supersonic aircraft slid seemingly effortlessly to a halt on the tarmac of a Yafor 2ian runway. As the landing ramp lowered, the Praetonian Foreign Secretary, along with a retinue of bodyguards and aides made their way down the ramp, waving to the crowds, before getting into a limosuine and driving to the conference.

Chief Minister Guillermo Vicente stood up. All the delegates were arrayed, from Praetonia, Pacitalia, and Lady Destra of Euroslavia. He personally hadn't supported sending for Lady Destra, but she was the only Euroslavian dedlgatre willing to come and the president had asked....of course, he had written that speech so he only had himself to blame...

"I'm glad to see that all of you could make it. I am sure you know why we are here, to extend ties between our nations. So, let us begin. Do you have any concerns about our nation you would like to voice now?"
