I'm thinking of starting to roleplay in II. I've already done ginormous amounts (for me) of RPing with Trostia, but in the EE regional forums where we don't have unrestrained wankage.

My question is what 'slant' should I give Trostia in II? Or ... who should I RP with? How about tech? Location?

In EE, Trostia is very simply the Crimean peninsula as a military-industrial superpower. (Shut up. You CAN fit 300 million into 10,000 square miles! :p) But since EE uses some rules and doesnt interact with II or NS in general thats an 'alternate reality.' Also EE uses 10% population rule, modern tech, no nuclear weapons in existence. I like it, its stable and fun but I'm here on II because I think it can be fun to RP here...

Now that's interesting. I originally started back in 2003 as a Crimean based military power, but I eventually ended up as a naval-based empire in Japan. Odd how these things work out.

In NS, it's pretty open really. You could be a nation full of stone age hunters or the space super-power fighting for planets. As long as you keep within the accepted rules, it's upto you.

If I was doing a new nation, I'd do one sort of like New Reno from Fallout 2. Have a corrupt central government that is surprisingly weak, and three or four strong mafia families that actually control the nation. Corruption, decidance, and greed would dot the landscape of this nation.

But that's just me. The choice is yours. :)

Well like, I'm torn between modern tech (which I RP on our regional forums... I intend on keeping my II RP separate from the regional RPing tho) and future tech. What do yall think? Bear in mind that Trostia will be a military giant in any tech... that may affect whether people want to RP with me I think...

You don't have to limit yourself to just one tech. If you can RP well in either, people will be willing to accept you playing as either. One would be the present Trostia, the other, a future Trostia. Pretty simple, I'd think.

Yeah, but that gets ugly. I'd rather do one or the other, because if I do FT on this board I'll already be doing two at once, because my normal RP in the region is MT. I wouldn't want to do MT, and then MT/FT.

How about Crimean based members of the Mafia trying to open new black market routes into the Black Sea area so they can smuggle stuff through the mediterranean, into the Black Sea and then overland to you where you distribute it on up into Eastern Europe?

'lo, Trostia. I would invite you to A Modern World, but oh dear, what a pity, you've gone for future tech and NS population, that's a shame :D [breathes sigh of relief].

I've never really got my head around future tech. Perhaps I'll spy on Trostia's progress in that field.

Oh and yes I meant II, not Earth 2.

Hmmm... well I saw AMW, and it's pretty interesting, but it was just too close to EE and I would wind up just being my EE self shifted to AMW. I need to range far to sate my nearly capitalistic desire for a wide variety of consumptive products!

I don't want to go so future tech that I get ignored by anyone reasonable, but I also have to be competitive so we'll see how that goes... let's hope I don't get lost in wank... but damn, I have teh uber militaristic nation here....

I keep wanting to do past-tech (specifically the 1750-1825 range). I don't see anywhere near enough RP opportunities for that on here. :(
