OOC: uranium wtf? this is ancient times and uranium was not as of yet discovered, as it was not until the 17 century(1800s) I think..., so therefore you could not have been looking for this element
[OOC: Uranium was isolated in 1841, but as early was discovered as early as 79 AD. However, at the time it was not considered important enough to mine for. Besides which, uranium is usually found in phosphate rocks and monazite sands, and gold is usually associated with quartz or pyrite. In other words, you have to be very incompetent to mine for uranium and find gold.]
