Doctor Baldur Von Schacht was sitting down in a large armchair in his private study at his mansion in rural Mississippi, reading a newspaper while smoking a pipe.

He had been worried about getting back his private writings and the work contained in his diary, he was still pissed as hell that he'd lost it in Argentina. And furthermore, he was confused as to how he could have lost it.

That didn't matter though, all he knew was he'd kill the first person who let Eva know what channel the documentary about him was on, or the first person who actually told her about the diary. Or God forbid, gave her a copy.

Anybody who did that, he assured himself, would be a dead man.



He folded his paper and set it down, standing up to go pour himself a glass of brandy from a nearby liquor cabinet. He didn't know why it would matter, everybody had a past, Eva had her own. From what Baldur gathered, she had gotten around a bit, before meeting her, he wasn't sure though. But it didn't matter to him, he loved her.

So why should she care if he killed people in the past, granted, he knew he'd keep killing communists until the day he was too weak to, but still, he'd never hurt her. Why should it matter what he had done to others, it didn't affect her. He loved her, but still he knew she'd likely have trouble coming to terms with the fact that her husband was thrilled at the chance to kill a communist or take part in DISFB interrogations which were known to use torture against men and rape against women.


He heard Eva in a nearby room, flipping through the channels on the TV, he figured he might want to go distract her from watching TV, lest she wind up on the channel the show about him was on, by coincidence.

Eva noticed Baldur enter the room. Her hair was wet and she was wearing a dressing gown; she had just got out of the shower. She looked at Baldur's face. Heaven forbid, he looked angry, and frightened. She pretended to not notice him, then turned around, scanning his face.

"What's wrong sweetheart?" She enquired.

Baldur shook his head, moving towards the TV, saying, "Nothing, dear, nothing at all... Just the noise was bothering me... You don't mind if I turn it off, do you?"

She gave an indifferent shrug. Eva then turned to Baldur.

"Come on, that's not the whole story, is it?" She enquired. "What's wrong?"

Baldur quickly shut off the TV as it started to say, "Now, for the story you've all been waiting for, the doctor of death from Mississippi... Since 1976 it seems, Doctor Baldur..." that was all it got out before he shut it off.

He shook his head, said, "Nothing, dear, I just didn't want to be bothered by the TV while I'm trying to relax and smoke my pipe, you know what I mean?"

"Are you sure honey? I mean, you do look a bit pale. Have you been overworking again?" She chided. "You musn't work so much. After all, soon you we have a child." She pointed to the rapidly growing bump on her stomach.

He shook his head, insisting he was fine with his expression and then with his words as he said, "No, dear, I'm sure, I'm fine... I'll just go lay down for a bit, you want to come too, you might be able to use some rest..."

Eva yawned.

"Yes, It's getting late and I am tired. So I think I will."

Baldur smiled, and quickly, but gently, helped her up, nervously saying, "Good, good, let's just go to bed, leave the radio and TV off, and then fall asleep, sounds good, eh. Great, let's go."

Eva struggled to her feet, led by Baldur. She walked down the wide corridor's and finally reached the bedroom. She clambered into bed, slowly lowering herself in.

She kissed Baldur.

"I love you so much Baldur. I always will." She smiled at him.

Baldur kissed her back, saying, "And I love you, Eva, and always shall..."

A few minutes later, he had fallen fast asleep.

(Skip to the morning)

"Morning Baldur, rise and shine." Eva stood in front of him, kissing him on the cheek.

"I brought you some food, you slept late, it's eleven." She put the pancakes on the bedside table, along with a glass of water.

Baldur smiled widely before returning her kiss with a kiss to the forehead. He warmly accepted the food, saying, "Thank you dear... So, did you sleep well?"

Suddenly the front doorbell was ringing. Baldur looked at the bedroom door, asking her with his eyes if she'd go answer the door.

"I'll go and answer the door." Eva said, hurrying downstairs.

She opened the door and thanked the mailman, obviously flustered and running late. She had subscribed to the Dimmimaran Monthly, to keep up to date with her native countries news. She opened the cellophane wrapper and hurried upstairs, to Baldur....

Baldur looked over and asked, "Yes, dear, what is it?", as he sat up in bed.

"I subscribed to the Dimmimaran Times, It looks good, I'll read it later" She said, tossing it onto the beadside table and exiting the room.

Baldur nodded his head and finished eating breakfast as he said, "That's nice dear, so, what are your plans for the day? Anything special you want to do?"





Ooc- I'll be back in 30-45 minutes.

"I might go down to the shops, I need buy some new bedding for the guest rooms." Eva replied curtly.

Baldur nodded his head as he stood up, getting out of bed. He leaned over and quickly kissed Eva gently on the lips, before he turned and walked towards the bathroom, saying.

"Well dear, I am going to shower and then I have to go into Philadelphia for a while, some of the other top executives for my pharmaceuticals company are going to be hunting pheasant, I ought to be there, since most of our business deals are struck off the records, you know, outside of any building that might be being spied on... I'll be back probably around seven or eight tonight, okay? I'll call if I expect to be any later... Will you be okay for the day?"

"Well, I'll see you later then, goodbye sweetie." Eva blew a kiss and walked out of the room, promly exiting the house and walking outside.

Baldur left a few minutes later, getting into the 1981 Cadillac Eldorado that had been given to him for his last birthday, a gift from Curtis. He drove off towards Philadelphia, less than 30 minutes away, but traffic would probably be heavy.

Eva got into her car, the Dimmimaran made XIM ZX3. She surrounded herself with reminders of home, even to the point of wearing Dimmimaran clothes. Her friends berided her constantly, but she would never consign herself to the life of obedience that they led.

She continued down the road, gaining speed as she went downhill...

Meanwhile Baldur and a half dozen executives were in the woods near Philadelphia, getting their gear together for the pheasant hunt. They were making light conversation about business.

One of them slapped Baldur on the back and said, "Hey killer, how are you today?"

He smiled, "Hey, I haven't gotten a pheasant yet..."

The man shook his head, replying, "That's not what I meant..."

Baldur sighed as he loaded his shotgun, "Let's just go hunt, okay?" he suggested.


The men nodded their heads, finished loading their shotguns, and then moved out into the tall grass with their dogs ready, trying to rustle up some birds.

About half an hour later, Eva arrived at the small shop that sold the sheets. She got out and went inside.

"May I help you?" The woman enquired, looking at her.

"I would like to purchase at least four metres of bed linen, possibly silk if you have any."

"I'll see what I can do."

The woman headed into the back, Eva bored, decided to take the paper out of her bag, it couldn't do any harm....

Baldur in the woods, was laughing, he and his friends had just bagged at least 40 pheasant in a massive sweep. The dogs had flushed out a massive pack of the birds, and each man unloaded his 9 round semi-automatic shotgun at the packs of the birds, through the sheer volume of shot shell in the air, they had managed to down about a third of the pack.

They were now dividing up who got how many birds, all of the sycophants were quick to agree their boss, Baldur, should get the most. Baldur was happy to take the most, getting twenty birds in the end when it was all done.

The men helped him carry his birds to his car, packing them into the spacious trunk.

Eva opened up the cellophane, slowly withdrawing the paper...

Baldur decided to surprise Eva by returning home early, after all, they had talked all the business they needed for about two hours, while they were hunting, and then about another hour as they field dressed their birds.

Baldur was certain Eva would love having so many pheasant in the freezer for future meals, wild game pheasant from this area tasted particularly excellent, and Baldur was a great cook when it came to game animals.


He got into his Cadillac, as a friend shut the trunk after the last bird was in, and then he headed for the city of Philadelphia, he wanted to pick up something nice for Eva, perhaps a bottle of her favorite wine, or some flowers, since their wine cellar was out of the type she liked, and she was still upset that her garden had been destroyed by the recent blizzard. He thought maybe some flowers might help her to forget about the garden until things could grow back.


He turned down the road that would lead right into town.

Baldur pulled up outside the shop he wanted to go into and stepped out of his car and walked in, as he was doing so, he took out his cellphone and called Eva, just wanting to see where she was.

Eva sat there shocked. She had read the newspaper, seeing the title page and extractsfrom Baldur's dairy. She had confronted him before, when they where in Dimmimar and she believed that he no longer did things like this, but this was horrific. He talked about butchering people and raping communists. And that date was after Baldur had married her! She got up, still crying and exited the shop, forgetting to get the bed linen and new sheets. She got into her car and pulled out her phone, upon hearing it ring.

"You bastard, you bastard! I saw your journal Baldur, how could you!" She screamed, slamming the phone onto the pavement out of the window, leaving no time for Baldur to respond.

Baldur was shocked, he had no idea what the problem was... He didn't know what to do, but had a rather good idea now what the problem was. There was really nothing left to do but go home and hope Eva came back so they could at least discuss it.

He figured now he'd have to fully explain his past, his childhood, his youth, the communist aggressions against his nation, maybe she'd understand. He really wasn't sorry for killing communists, but he did feel a bit guilty about all the rape and torture, there was no need for that, he figured if he hated the communists so bad, he ought to have just killed them and got it over with.

Eva had no intention of going home, however she knew where to go. Her cousin, Joseph Kakoris was the Dimmimaran ambassador to Mississippi. She was going to go to Jackson City and find a place to stay....

After about two hours of her not arriving home, Baldur dialed the county border police and reported that he didn't want his wife leaving the county lines, (men can do this in Mississippi). He asked that they stop her on sight and bring her back to his estate.


Word went up to all the county border checkpoints, it'd only be a matter of time before they stopped Eva and either held her for Baldur to get there or took her back to him.

And that date was after Baldur had married her! .

Actually, she might want to check the dates again, he's not really done anything since they got married. Although he did oversee the Racially Specific Biological Weapons use in Feb 2005 against Xhosa in South Africa.

And in April 2005 (it's May 1st for me now), he did rape a foreign woman who had attempted to find secrets out at Stalingrad, the Democratic Colonies government official, Kelli Perim. At any rate, Baldur hasn't personally killed anybody in a good long while.

Ooc- Well each checkpoint has about one squad (10) soldiers, at the very least. And there is a concrete machine gun position or minigun position at each checkpoint. Besides, she won't be able to get the concrete barrier at the checkpoint open. And anyway, I really don't see it possible for a pregnant woman to kill 10 expertly trained and experienced soldiers.

Baldur was pacing back and forth in his mansion, he'd been home for a while now. He was simply waiting for the border police to do their job, he knew it wouldn't take long.

Ooc- Bump, basically my thoughts were Eva gets caught by the police at the county border, and taken back to Baldur. Maybe the cousin can come on by if he calls her? Anyway, I'll be back in like 55 minutes exactly.

Baldur was getting tired of waiting, he wondered if he ought to call her cousin, Joseph and see if he knew where Eva might be. But he figured he'd wait for now, the police would do their job.

Eva's car pushed forwards slowly, the wind and weather were impeding it. Just ahead she could make out the vague outline of a county border, she was almost their. She pulled up to the booth and leaned to one of the guards.

"Can I get through please?"

The guard, standing their with his G-36 rifle slung across his chest, shook his head and said, "Mrs. Schacht, please step out of the car... You're not permitted to pass, by orders of Field Marshal Schacht."

"Kindly let me pass." Eva angrily replied, in her pocket was a tinful of acido oil. It would cause horrendous pain to the guard, if he did not let her pass.

Two more guards moved close up to the car, one on each side, suddenly a lieutenant came forward from the nearby command post. He was shaking his head, saying, "Ma'am, turn off your engine or we'll have to use an EMP to turn it off, if we have to do that, we won't be happy... Just turn it off, and step out of the vehicle with your hands in the air, turn around and place your hands on the car."

Eva swiftly turned as fast as she could whilst holding the spray. She pulled the trigger, unleashing horrible acids on the men, at once...

One of the men on the other side of the car dove through the open passenger window and grabbed at her, as the other two men she'd sprayed were shouting and cursing as they flailed their hands at their faces.

One of the men at the checkpoint immediately EMPed the car and then rushed forward, firing a tear gas round into the car itself, he then joined in with the other man who had dove into the car, and was helping him pull Eva out of the car.

After a few seconds, they'd dragged her out of the car and forced her down on the ground, one of them smacked her hard across the face before the other one managed to pull her hands behind her back and handcuff her. It was only temporary though, as they quickly brought out a straight jacket from the command post and put her into it.

The two men who had been hit by the acid had been taken into the command post and a medic was tending their wounds, while they waited for an air evacuation helicopter to get them.



Meanwhile, they had already called a helicopter in to take Eva back to the estate, and it was arriving at about the same time the medical evacuation helicopter was arriving.


Within twenty minutes, she was being taken off the helicopter and gently urged forward to the mansion that lay ahead...

Baldur was sitting in an armchair in his private smoking lounge, a glass of brandy grasped firmly in his right hand, a cigar in his left, as Eva was brought into the room.

He stood up and shook his head, saying, "Hmmm, so Eva tell me, why did you try to leave?"




Ooc- sorry if I jumped ahead there assuming she wouldn't have been able to effectively resist at the checkpoint, but there were 10+ of them, and she is just 1 pregnant woman with no real weapons. Hope you don't mind, if you do, TG me.

"For being a maniacal idiot! Just as well I stopped reading the paper." Eva snarled.

Baldur exhaled on his cigar as he waved his hand in a dismissive fashion at the guards. They gently pushed Eva down into a chair and then turned and left.

Baldur started to pace back and forth, sighing deeply before saying, "I nearly died for you in Mississippian Libya in the zombie incident... Obviously that meant nothing to you... I've done so much for you Eva, I've never hurt you and never would..." He frowned and sighed even louder before asking, "Should it really matter that I've got a few skeletons in the closet? I mean I didn't want you to know, I even went out of my way to keep you from finding out, I love you Eva, don't you see that?"

As he was thinking of what else to say, he walked over towards her and kissed her on the forehead before slowly running a hand through her hair. Baldur then smiled a bit and added, "Eva, you do know I love you, yes?"

"People have a past Baldur, but not one of murder and torture!"

Baldur sighed before he erupted and started shouting, "Do you want to know my past? Do you... Do you really want to know my past? All of it, I have dozens of books and journals, do you want to read them all? Here, I'll read one to you..."


He walked over to his nearby office, took out a book and then walked back, he was talking now, reading, "January 10th 1974: Father was away on a business trip in Cape Town, it was awful, I wished I was dead after mother finished with me. She's a wretch and I hate her. I considered taking father's pistol and killing myself, but why should I die because she harms me, she ought to be the one to die. I swear this now and for all time, no woman will ever harm Baldur Von Schacht again..."

Baldur then slammed the book down on a table in front of Eva, screaming, "Do you know what it's like to be raped by your own mother, do you! Goddamnit Eva, think for once why don't you... You've been sheltered your whole goddamned life, haven't you? I mean for fuck sake, I nearly died to protect you on several occasions, your fascist friends in Dimmimar took care of you rather well it seems. Hell, have you ever had to endure any hardships?"

He sighed and continued to read, flipping forward, "April 29th, 1976. Hail and rejoice, the bitch is dead. I poisoned her myself, father will never be the wiser, nobody will ever know, it's between myself and the Almighty now, and I know for sure He destined me to do it. It was so easy, she never saw it coming, I'm glad though, she'll never be able to harm me again, and she'll never even have the chance to corrupt or harm Franz. I did it for me, and I did it for Franz."

Baldur glared at Eva, "Do you have any idea how hard it was to kill her? She was my mother and I tried as hard as I could to love her, but tell me, do you have any idea how hard it was not to have killed her sooner?"

"Sheltered! My parents were pulverized by bombs, I had to pull my fathers leg out of the fucking wall for Christ's sake Baldur! I grew up alone, I grew up living in a damn slum!" Eva screamed back at him, standing up.

Baldur nodded his head, "Hmmm, slums, yes... And you'd still be there if it wasn't for me! And you know it. You'd probably be dead in Dimmimar by now! That's right, you'd be dead or living in the streets, or still whoring around in those sex clubs you told me you worked in. Did I ever hold that against you? I never even mentioned it, or the fact that every fucking member of those fascist conspiracies in your nation seems to know you, and I mean they hint at knowing you a bit too well... Did I ever hold that against you or even bring it up? And you dare judge me for enjoying killing a few rotten communists?"

Baldur slammed his fist hard against his chest, as he said, "I, yes Baldur Von Schacht, have always done what was needed, I crusaded against communism, and I'd still keep doing it... But..."

His tone and demeanor quickly grew calm, "But... I know you don't want me to, so I'm trying not to do that stuff anymore..."

"We have already had this exact same coversation before! If I didn't get there quicker last time, you would have comitted suicide!"

Baldur nodded his head, "Yes... And maybe I should have then... Maybe I should right now..."


He drew out his Walther PPK and put it against his head, his finger putting pressure increasingly against the trigger.

"Baldur, what will you achieve by killing yourself, eh?" She enquired angrily.

He smiled, "Peace, what I thought I could never find, until I found you, and then am poised to lose now... Peace..."

With that, he pressed down on the trigger, the response was only a slight click, the magazine was in, but no round was chambered.


He cursed and tossed the pistol down on the ground, "Another thing I can't even do right!"

Eva was getting ready to run, she knew that Baldur could outpace her. But, if she timed it rightly...

"I for one am relieved that you didn't kill yourself. But anyway, If you think that I'll submit to you like some Mississippian housewife then you've got another thing coming."

Baldur sighed, "Fine, I'll get that straightjacket off you and then you can go..."

He was holding back a few tears as he said, "Wait, forget it, you can stay here... I'm moving back to South Africa. I expect my child to be sent to me when he is born..."

"Of course." She slyly looked inwards.

I'll never let him near my child, ever.

"If you need to contact me, I'll be in Jackson with my cousin for a few weeks. You can stay here."

Baldur nodded his head as he started to remove her straightjacket, saying, "You know, if I wanted a submissive wife, there were plenty of women I could have married... I obviously didn't marry them though. Oh well.."


He then added with a very solemn and somber expression on his now wretched looking face, "Take care in Jackson City... I'm moving to South Africa anyway, I don't want to be around when people point out my wife has left me, I don't want that added embarrassment to my already ruined reputation."

"Goodbye, Baldur." Eva exited the room, leaving via the front door and going to her other car. She was crying, but she soon stifled it. It would be a fairly long drive to Jackson, but she knew she would make it.

Baldur sat down in a chair, taking a rifle from off the fireplace, a double barrel hunting rifle, it was a 470 nitro express, a massively large caliber. He cracked it open and put a single round into it.

He then picked up the phone and dialed his best friend, his brother, Franz.

Baldur was in tears as he managed to get out the general idea that Eva had left him and he didn't know what to do.

Franz was, understandably greatly worried about his brother, but he just didn't know what to say.

Franz was quick to say, "But whatever you do, don't do anything rash like killing yourself, okay, Baldur? I know you, it's not going to help you to do that... Whatever gun you're looking at, toss it aside... NOW!"

Baldur did just that, tossing the hunting rifle a few feet away, the hammer came down, sending the 470 round against a statue of his father, the sound from the blast probably would carry for at least a mile or two.


Baldur then said into the phone, to Franz, "Yeah, that's done, now what?"

Franz shrugged, "I don't know, say, I'll be over in a few hours, we'll talk about it then, okay? I'll be on the next flight out of Cape Town, okay?"

Baldur meekly nodded his head and then let the phone hang limp in his hand.

Eva was upset when she reached the embassy gates, the guards let her in staright away. Eva reached the doors, weeping incontrollably. Joseph opened the door. He was younger than Eva, but they had always been good friends. Joseph embraced her.

"Shush, stop crying Eva, what's the matter?" Joseph thought he knew, he had read the Dimmimaran Times and knew that Eva had subscribed to one. It did'nt make a pretty combination then.

Joseph lead Eva to the couch and put her down. Comforting her slowly, he took off her coat and put it on the rack.

"You left Baldur?" She sobbed, nodding.

Baldur didn't wait for Franz, he just took his false Argentine passport and got on the first flight for Buenos Aires, leaving his massive mansion empty and basically abandoned. He had told his guards to just stay there and keep out looters because his brother might one day want it.



After he had been gone for the next twelve hours, missing a half dozen government appointments and a national health talk show, the news started circulating on the TV and Radio, asking, "Where is Dr. Schacht?"

By that time he was already in Argentina, buying a farm in a rural area, having paid in cash and giving another fake name to buy the farm. If anybody wanted to find him, they'd better have been in the DIS or the SRGIO, or else they'd have little luck. Except for the fact that he always used the same fake names, the passport was under Joseph Sulla, the other name he used was the one he used to buy the farm under, Fritz Kruger.



Franz was quick to call Eva on the phone, demanding to know, "Where is Baldur?" Before going into a rage and screaming, "What did you do to him you crazy harpie of a woman, you're an ungrateful foreign piece of trash, taking advantage of my brother like that, after all he did for you, and you just left him like that... You make me sick, I'd kill you myself if you weren't carrying his child..."

Joseph grabbed the phone from Eva.

"How dare you talk to Eva like that! If you threaten her one more time, I will personally kill you! Please speak in a civilised manner, for goodness sakes!"

Franz shook his head, "Listen to me you piece of shit, I don't give a fuck who you think you are or who you think you know. You couldn't in a thousand years comprehend what my brother was through at home and in combat, or what I was through in combat... You're an asshole, and Eva is a bitch for shitting on my brother like that... Ask her, did he ever do anything but help and sacrifice for her? Did he ever hurt her? What then should his private past deeds have mattered?"



As they were talking, in Argentina, Baldur was in the process of checking out his farm when he suddenly saw an old friend. The two men got to talking and Baldur realized he was right, the old man had said, "You know, they're taking folks to go fight in Namibia, South Africa, and Western Sahara, you could go to any of those places."

Baldur wasn't sure yet, but he was thinking about it.

"I swear, if you do not stop now I will lodge a formal complaint against your personage!"

Franz chuckled as he said, "How about you shut your fucking mouth and listen for once. My brother is a great guy, and by the way, nobody here cares about you, I'm a Mississippian, you're not, guess who they care about? Anyway, I'm five minutes from your embassy, shall we fight this out? Oh, and the child is my brother's and he will be getting it, one way or another, I'll get it for him if I have to. Once it's born it stays in Mississippi, whether or not Eva objects, I don't care."

"If you even come dare come near this embassy then I will kill you!" Joseph snarled back, slamming the phone down.

He stood up and grabbed his rifle, pacing the room.

Franz sighed and called back right away, planning to be polite and calm. If there was an answer, he'd just say, "Hello, I'm sorry about before, can we talk like adults about this?"

If there was no answer, he'd have the SRGIO kill Joseph and that would be that.

Joseph picked up the phone, snarling. He listened.

"Yes, we can." He responded quickly.

Franz smiled before replying, "Okay, may I come into the embassy, unarmed I assure you, you can have your goons, I mean guards, check me over, okay? I need to speak with you and Eva... Okay?"

"Nope, I'm not having Eva their, you can talk to me but not her."

Franz sighed, "Joseph, the whole point is I need to speak with Eva... Okay?"

"Nope, she's still upset. Tell me what you need to tell her."

Franz sighed even louder again, "Never mind... Just tell her to keep her eyes on the obituaries and I'll call her when the funeral is official... You know Baldur, not as well as I, but still you know him... He'll be dead in a few weeks, if not by his own hand, by a situation of his own making."

"Why do you want to talk to Eva?"

Franz thought it was obvious, he quickly but calmly replied, "I don't want a dead brother... And that means she has to get back with Baldur so he doesn't go crazy and do something stupid, like putting a pistol in his mouth... Okay?"

"And, you cannot force her to go back to Baldur."

Franz loudly moaned, "Duh!" before returning to a polite voice and tone, "Yes, I know that, I'd like to talk with her and tell her the reasons why she ought to go back with him... Nobody will force her to do anything, although if it comes to it, I may have to call in a few favors with the Czar to get Baldur his son when he is born. Eva is a Mississippian citizen as is Baldur, and he has total legal rights over the fetus."

Roger had already been notified of the situation, since Eva was due to deliver within a few days it had been deemed important to get Roger updated on the situation.

He had been contacted by the elderly Nikolaas Schacht, who was living in relative seclusion on his family's farm in rural South Africa. They'd been living there since the 1800s, but their family had been in South Africa since the 1600s. The Schacht's had lived in Johannesburg for a while in the 1950s and 1960s, but they moved to Mississippi in the late 60s, well that is Baldur's immediate family moved, but his brother Franz wasn't even born yet, and when he was born, he was sent to South Africa to be raised there, as it was at the time, deemed safer than communist ruled Mississippi.

Eventually Franz had been sent back to Mississippi, and when Baldur was older, his father, Nikolaas moved back to South Africa.

Nikolaas had already contacted the Czar and made sure that the Dimmimarian embassy would not be allowed to be used as a center to sneak his grandson out of Mississippi.

The Czar had issued an official imperial decree that neither Eva Schacht, or her child, would be allowed to leave Mississippi. Since they were both Mississippian citizens, he could do that. Even though her child was unborn as of yet, it still counted as Mississippian property. Indeed it had been Mississippian since the second of fertilization. She had after all, married a Mississippian man and had signed all the forms accepting Mississippian citizenship and the legal ramifications that went with it.

Something that had not been known widely about the Schacht family, they were a dying breed. In the 1990s, most of the Schachts in South Africa were killed by either crime or farm attacks, or even worse, assassination. Baldur had lost twelve cousins, four uncles, and four aunts that way. He had also lost two brothers in South-West Africa and Angola in the 1980s. He and Franz were the last two left, and Franz was believed to be sterile.

The Czar decided to send an SRG company to the embassy, they would wait outside while two officers requested admission into the embassy so they could get Eva out and into a hospital where she would stay until the child have been delivered.



Right now at the embassy, two platoons of the company had already arrived, and the captain of the company was there as well. He, along with his best lieutenant, stepped lively towards the embassy gate, politely shouting, "Hello, there!" before he decreased the volume of his voice as he got closer, "Sir, you'll have to open that gate, okay? We're here on Imperial Orders..."

"I'm afraid I can't do that." Joseph patiently replied.

One of the officers, along with nearly twenty of the men, raised their G-36 rifles, aiming them at the gate guards and the ambassador. Then as if on cue, 2 Mi-24s arrived on scene. They were hovering around in circles, waiting for the orders to attack if required. The Czar wasn't going to let the Schacht line die out just because of some dumb ambassador.


The officer again shouted, "Listen here, boy, move or I'll shoot you and then I'll have your corpse recalled to Dimmimar so fast, it won't even have time to rot..."

It was clear from his tone that he wasn't lying, he would indeed shoot him if he didn't move out of the way and have the gate opened.

The captain had suspected they weren't going to open the gate so easily, and as such, he had requested armored support, which was now arriving. Along with the other two platoons of the company were arriving six T-98 tanks. The tanks were quick to take up positions around the complex.

Joseph didn't want to let them take Eva and her unborn child away, but he knew that he had no choice. They would shoot him if he resisted. Finally with a sigh he called out.

"At least let her stay in a place of her choosing then!"

The officer smiled and nodded his head, lying as he said, "You have my word..." He normally would never lie like this, but the Schacht line was going to be wiped out if there weren't more Schacht kids.

"Get her now..." he politely commanded.

Franz was basically calling the shots now, he'd already sent two diplomats stationed in Argentina to go and get Baldur and tell him to get back to Mississippi to be with his son to be born son. They knew he'd be using the name Joseph Sulla, he was a bit too predictable in that regard.

Franz had also told a captain in the SRGIO, "Once the child is delivered, dispose of the bitch, I want no evidence of the job left, and I want no body found..."

The captain nodded his head and made a mental note of the team to use for the operation. He'd pick his three best operatives.

"Okay then." Joseph called Eva.

Eva came out, a broken figure and still weeping. Joseph hugged her and told her not to cry and that she would go to a place of her choosing.

"Call me later, okay?"

"Goodbye Joseph." Eva called back, she had stopped crying now.

Eva went up to the Officer and prepared to follow him.

The officer carefully and gently led her forward, into a waiting car. Once they were in, the doors were locked and the car sped off to a secret SRG base where the child would be delivered.

One of the officers glared at her, saying, "You know something, don't cry, it's just a waste of your time, better enjoy your time while it lasts..."

"You intend to kill me? How audacious! I thought that Mississippians had honour, and were not lying, cheating rogues!" Eva calmly replied.

The man shrugged, "Don't worry, I'll make it quick... Hey, it's under orders from my boss, nothing personal... So if you cooperate, I'll make sure it's quick and clean, okay?"

"You can kill me but you can't hide the truth, someday Joseph will find out and he'll kill you all, all of you!"

The man shook his head, "Not likely..." he said, before adding, "Joseph will be joining you in death..."

"Bit suspicious isn't it though? Two people dying for no apparent cause. Especially Joseph, he's a friend of the High Imperator."

The man shook his head, "Nope, he's going to die of a heart attack, you're just going to disappear... They'll never find you, we'll just forge a letter from you saying you're retiring into seclusion in a rural area, and then you vanish. As for him, we may have to use the law to execute him, I'm not sure... He did threaten Mississippians and impede an investigation, he is guilty of many crimes. As you know, the Czar is on rather friendly terms with your leader, he won't let one pissy diplomat stand in the way on relations."

"Believe me, when Gaius finds out It'll be hell for you all. He'll crucify your ass!" Eva responded. "And Baldur, won't he object to this? We may not be together, but I'm sure he still loves me. Unless Franz can lie to his brother as well?"

The officer sighed, "Eva, just give it up... Baldur is either never going to find out or he'll find out but it'll be too late to do anything. Franz has decided you're a liability. He doesn't want you trying to steal Baldur's son, the future of the Schacht family, away from Mississippi. We can't have you keeping the Schacht line from being carried on. Did you know most of Baldur's relatives in South Africa are dead, farm attacks in the 1990s."

"Yes I do, but what if my future descendants find out about this, I'm sure they'll have something to say about this, if they've not been brainwashed by your religous shit." Eva hissed backed.

The man glared at her, "What? Religious shit? What are you, an atheist? My word, it's worse than we feared... Anyway, Eva, don't worry, after we kill you, Baldur's boy will be raised by Baldur and whoever he marries once you're dead or he realizes you're missing and not coming back. They'll raise the kid as though you never even played any part in it... See how neatly you can be lifted out of the equation?"

As they were talking, the car pulled onto the secret rural SRG base and passed through the heavily guarded gate. The soldiers at the gate snapped to attention and saluted.

"Don't count on it." Eva said curtly back.

The man snapped at her, "Shut up!" he shouted, before slapping her lightly across the face with his glove. Not so much meaning to hurt her, just basically slapping her to let her know he could do it.

Eva spat at the man, unloading a load of phlegm onto his face. She was trying to provoke him, and make him know that.

The man growled as he literally punched her in the side of the face, not holding back or going soft, just curling up a fist and punching her.

Suddenly the car came to a halt, he would have flown forwards but he caught himself and quickly sat back into his seat.

He stepped out once the door was open and pulled her out with him. The nearby guards snapped to attention and then when he said, "Take her to the doctors here, they'll know what to do..." they each took hold of one of her arms, and then the third guard walked behind her, as made their way to the underground bunker where the base hospital was located.

Eva started to kick and struggle the best she could, biting the guards if she could do it.

"Bigoted freaks!" She screamed.

One of them sighed before pushing her up against the wall of the building they were now in and handcuffing her. Another man shackled her legs together, it might make it easier to move her to just carry her, since she was kicking too much.

After they carried her downstairs below the ground floor, they entered the elevator which led to the bunker.


Immediately upon getting her into the bunker, they took her into a preparation room where she was cleaned up and then strapped down to a table, the room was spotless, clean, hospital clean, mechanically clean. The doctor, a man at least in his fifties, strode into the room, saying, "Ah Eva, you're due to deliver in three days, but we're going to go a bit early so we can get rid of you sooner, okay? Well then, good bye..."

After he said that, he had her tranquilized.



About three hours later, she came to, they had delivered the child and taken it away to the care of Franz Schacht, who was on the base in the different area. She was still strapped to the table but only the doctor and one guard were in the room. The guard then turned and faced her as the four man SRGIO team walked into the room. The captain of the team had a silenced pistol in his hands, he unstrapped her from the table and two men took her into their arms, dragging her out of the room, and into the elevator.


One of them said to her, making sure he was loud since she was still barely coherent from the tranquilizer and sedatives, "We've already got the plot for you dug out..."

Eva couldn't respond as the drugs still impeded her speech. She merely gesticulated with her hands to show her defiance.

Baldur was just stepping off his plane that was arriving at that very base. He had left Argentina as soon as Franz said that his son was to be delivered soon.

He was walking off the tarmac, looking around. He decided to go to the bunker and the hospital. He ran forward, eager to see Franz, his son, and hopefully, Eva.

He ended up taking the stairs since the elevator was currently in use.

While he was running down the stairs, the elevator with Eva and the SRGIO team in it, came to the ground level and they pushed her out and then out of the building, leading her off into the thick woods nearby.

By this time, Baldur realized they weren't in the bunker, and the doctor wasn't talking.

Franz was there though, holding Baldur's just born son, saying, "Don't worry, Baldur, you've got a kid, that's the important thing..."

Baldur would have grabbed him and demanded to know where Eva was, but he was holding the baby. He just glared at Franz and said, "Where is she..."

Franz shrugged, "Don't worry about it, okay?"

Baldur gasped and turned around, running full speed out of the hospital and towards the stairs, he knew he could run up the stairs faster than taking any elevator.


In the woods, one of the men brought Eva to a halt and said, "Stop here for a minute... We'll be right there..." as he took out a cigarette and lit it up.

Eva started to collapse to the ground, she sank into unconscionous quickly, the blissful peace it brought clouded the pain...

One of the other men lifted her back up on her feet and pulled her along, she by now ought to be coming around to some sort of coherency, or if not now, in a few minutes.

They led her deeper into the woods.


Baldur meanwhile, was running around the base, shouting, "Eva!" as loud as he could. He then turned and saw something out of the corner of his eye, tracks in the mud. Maybe it was nothing, maybe it was something, but whatever the case, they were leading off into the woods, the only spot left on the small base that he hadn't checked. Most of the base was a heavily wooded area, the woods went on for miles, he'd better get started.

He raced off into the woods, still shouting, "Eva!"


One of the men in the SRGIO team thought he heard something, he suddenly motioned with his hand and the team came to a halt. Then they were sure they heard it with the next scream. The captain turned to Eva and said, "Say a word and you won't get it quick, got it?"

Eva started to scream, but it was stifled by the guards hand coming over her mouth. She knew that Baldur was coming, she recognized his voice and could only hope that he got their quickly...

As the SRGIO team led her deeper into the woods, one of them took out a handful of papers that Franz had given him to read to her, it was some of Baldur's writings, he started to read, "I wonder if Eva would ever be interested in working in my Pharmaceuticals or Chemical company, she's a wonderfully intelligent woman and I think her talents in those fields could be put to great use..." He then laughed a bit before adding his own remarks, "See, you could have gone places, done things, now the only place you're going is to a hole in the ground..."

The men continued to push her forward as the one continued to read, "I don't know what I'd do without her, Franz doesn't trust her, but he doesn't have to, it's not his place to judge or criticize her, besides, Franz had always said I'd find a good woman, a woman not like mother, and he was right, he just doesn't like the one I found."

The man patted her on the back and said, "That's right, he sure doesn't, does he..."

"Psychological warfare? Goodness, uping the stakes are we? Getting that desperate?" Eva said, rather slurrely.

They finally arrived at the plot they'd dug. It was a adjacent to a large ditch where acids were commonly dumped after they were used in experiments on the base. They were going to shoot her, toss her in the ditch, and dump acid on the body.

One of them told her, "Kneel down at the edge of the pit... And if you have any last requests, make them known now..."

"Yes, one car, a gun, and a platoon of soldiers." She sarcastically replied.

As he was raising up the pistol, a winded man came running down the path, staggering to a halt near them, shouting as best he could, "Get away... Get away... You get away from her..." It was Baldur, he was holding a Walther PPK in his extended and trembling right hand.

The SRGIO captain immediately turned around and instinctively fired. Baldur staggered back and then started to fire. The other SRGIO had been caught off guard, they went down one at a time in the firefight, until none were left. They fell around Eva, two landed in the ditch, the captain fell where he stood, and finally the last man fell into the acid ditch.


Baldur then sank down to his knees and fell face first in the mud, clutching at where he'd been shot in the stomach when the firefight first started.

Eva tried to scurry over to Baldur, but one of the bodies had fallen onto her and she was trying to force it off, she had fell into the pit.

Baldur was now coughing up blood, he realized he must have been hit twice, once in the stomach and most likely once in a lung. He forced himself to rise into a kneeling position before he called out as best he could, "Eva, are you okay? Are you hurt?" as a stream of blood came out of his mouth.

"Yes, she cried meekly. "You sound hurt, come to the edge."

Baldur shook his head before coughing up yet more blood, managing to choke out, "Eva, I can't... I can't make it... Can you get out on your own?"

"I think so, Baldur how hurt are you?" She inquired, trying to stand.

Baldur started to slip in and out of consciousness, he shook his head lightly before replying with his fading voice, "I won't lie to you, Eva... I'm... I'm..." he hesitated for a few seconds before saying, "Eva, I'm dying, I can feel it."

"Baldur, you can't!" Eva furiously hurried out of the pit, her feet making ledges in the soil for her to climb.

She started to take off her shirt, to douse some of the blood, it didn't work, so she resorted to screaming for help.

Baldur smiled as he shook his head at her, saying, "Eva, come here, I'd like to hold you in my arms one last time... In case I don't make it..."

Suddenly the radio on the dead captain came to life, it was Franz, saying, "Is the job done yet... Is it done... Over... Hello... Hello...Come in.."

Baldur looked up, unable to believe it, "Franz..." he gasped.

Eva snatched the radio from the dead captain.

"You bastard! Baldur dying and I was almost killed!"

Franz shouted back, "What? Baldur is in trouble? How bad is he hurt? Can you get him to the clearing in the woods, it ought to be a just a few hundred yards west of your current position... I'll have a helicopter sent right away..."


Sure enough, there was a clearing, through two hundred yards of swamp and thick undergrowth. And sure enough, a helicopter could be heard approaching, almost immediately after Franz said he'd send one.

Eva started to drag Baldur using all her strength. She shielded Baldur from the thorns and continued to drag him, despite looking like a raw hamburger.

As she was halfway there, the helicopter touched down and two SRG men jumped off and ran up to her, taking Baldur in their arms and asking her, "Can you walk, ma'am?"

"NO!" She screamed, promply collapsing into their arms.

One of the men carried her, the other carried Baldur, and within five minutes they were back at the base hospital, having been taken there via the helicopter.

Baldur was rushed into surgery while Franz paced back and forth, telling Eva, "This is all your fault..."

Eva started to feel the anger build up inside her. It grew and grew till she could hold it in no more.

She launched herself at Franz trying to gouge out his eyes and also pulling her nail file out of her pocker, to use as a crude knife.

Franz swung at her, not wanting to hit her, but he was more than able to hold her hands back. He frowned before pleading with her, "Okay, Eva, I'm sorry, let's try to get along for Baldur's sake... Hey, do you want to go see your son now?"

Eva didn't respond, merely screaming and repeating, whilst biting his fingers and trying to stab him again.

Franz pushed her back as two SRG members pulled her off of him. He stood up, shaking and dusting himself off. He shook his head before saying, "Damn Eva, remind me never to get you mad..."

He then walked up and punched her right in the stomach with a tightly curled fist, saying, "You had that coming, now we're even..."

He then left the room to go get his other hand patched up from the bite marks.

"I'll kill you, you bastard!" Eva screamed.

A few hours later, Franz was still gone, he'd been laying low from Eva. But the suddenly, Baldur staggered into the room Eva was in, smiling at her, his bright eyes so full of life, as he said, "Eva, are you okay?"

"I'm feeling dizzy." She responded.

It was no wonder. He stomach had been punched so hard that it was literally black, her body was covered with scratch marks and her clothes were torn into rags.

Baldur was sweating a lot, he was visibly very nervous. He looked down at the ground before saying, "So, Eva... I was wondering... Do you want to come on back home with me..."

"I think yes, but now that our child has been born you musn't work so much." Eva said back smiling.

Baldur smiled at that, saying, "Yes, I was thinking perhaps I'd either retire from some of the jobs or have somebody work as my partner and help me... We're working on wonderful new advanced nanotechnology for the armed forces, to stop bleeding almost instantly and enhance the combat strength of soldiers... I was thinking maybe you might like to... Well I mean, if you are interested, you might... Work with me on it?"

"I would be delighted Baldur." She said back. "I hate Franz though."

Baldur smiled as he lifted her up into his arms, wincing a bit from the pain but otherwise ignoring the pain and putting it out of his mind. He then suddenly remembered, "Oh, shall we go get our son? You haven't seen him yet, have you?"

"I would love to, lets go now." Eva stood up, kissing Baldur long and passionately.

Baldur continued to hold her in his arms as he carried her out of the room and to the room Franz was now in. Franz was holding his nephew carefully in his arms.

Once Baldur walked up to him, Eva still in his arms, Franz placed Baldur II gently in Eva's hands and said, "No hard feelings, okay Eva?"

"Of course Franz." Eva said rather calmly back. When Baldur's back was turned she turned to him, whispering.

"I'll kill you someday, watch your back Franz, lest a dagger be there." Eva hissed at him. She took the baby from Franz and started to cradle it, singing it a lullaby song.

Franz was shocked, taken aback. He immediately said, "My God Eva, you're a harpie, a devil woman... Wow, I really pity Baldur..."


Baldur's attention had been caught by now, he immediately demanded, "Okay, what is going on?"

"Baldur for goodness sake's, this man tried to kill me! I don't care if he's your brother!" Eva snapped back.

Baldur was shocked, "What? He did? He... He..."

Baldur shook his head and said, "Bye Franz, Eva and I are leaving, I won't be speaking with you for quite some time..."

He then took Eva gently by the hand and led her out of the bunker, as she cradled her child against her body.


Once they got out of the bunker, Baldur said, "Eva, try to just ignore Franz, okay? I know you don't like him... But... Well, you said it, he is my brother, and you are my wife, don't make tensions between you two any worse, okay? Wait and see what he does..."

"I'll do it for your sake then, but I don't want him to come near our child." Eva replied back.

Baldur nodded his head, "I understand... Although that will greatly upset him, since he most likely will never be able to have children of his own. But if that is your wish, I shall respect it."

"Um, I just don't trust him. But anyway, I think that I need to get some more clothes."

Baldur grinned before saying, "Hmmm, why? You're pretty much nude now, and I rather like you that way..." He then quickly said, "But if you insist, where shall we go to get them?" he asked, as he opened the door of a car that had been waiting for him, holding it for her to get in.

"Well, If you like me nude..." Eva said back winking at him.

Baldur blushed at her winking and nodded his head, saying, "Of course I do... Shall we get started on the drive home? It'll be a while, at least six hours... I'll drive though, you hold the boy and get some rest, okay?"

"Yes, I think I'll go to sleep, with the baby."

Baldur kissed her gently on the cheek, whispering, "Then sleep well my love, I shall wake you when we're home."

Sure enough, about six hours later, Baldur was softly whispering to her, "Eva, dear, we're home... Wake up, here we are."

Eva yawned, holding the baby and unclipping the seatbelt. She wrapped her arm around Baldur and hugged him tightly.

Baldur smiled and embrace, putting his arms gently around her and then holding her tightly in his arms as he softly pressed his lips against her. He then whispered, "Eva, dear, we ought to go inside, the boy likely needs something to eat, yes?"

"I'll feed him in a second. But anyway, I feel like this child is going to be special, extremely special."

Baldur grinned, "Oh, I've known that for a while, he's going to not only inherit the entire Schacht conglomerate, an industrial empire, but he's also going to carry on the name of Schacht and perhaps he'll even become governor-general of his own territory someday, eh? I hear they want to annex Alabama, maybe he'll get that appointment someday?"

"Governor-General of Alabama, I like it." Eva grinned.

Baldur looked outside and at some of the ominous clouds looming overhead, "Hmmm, looks like a storm, better turn the news on, eh?"

He turned on the radio and it was bringing news of, "War has broken out between the forces of stability and freedom, Kahta and the Mississippian Federation, and the forces of communism and confusion, Macabees and Guffingford. Mississippi is thus on a full war footing. More on this as it develops."

The clouds had broken...

"God, do you reckon Dimmimar will aid Mississippi?"

As I told you before, If you've gone to war now I'll support you.

Baldur nodded his head, "I think so, but I think most folks will probably sit this one out lest too many get into it and it goes nuclear or worse."

He then smiled before suggesting, "You think we ought to stay in the bunker for a while, I don't want my wife and son harmed at all by stray bombs or anything."



Ooc- It's a sort of closed affair, but you can sell weapons and let us base planes in your land. I think that would be okay.

"Let me gather some food first, I don't want to starve."

Baldur had to stifle a rather silent laugh, "Eva, dear, there are four years of food stocked in the bunker already... Hehehehe. I'm always prepared, aren't I?"

"I just didn't want to starve, that's all." Eva said. "Well, I dont really know where the bunker is so lead the way."

Baldur nodded his head and say, "Very well then Eva, follow, I'll lead the way."

That said, Baldur gently took Eva's hand and led her into the basement before he pressed a hidden button which caused a section of wall to retreat back into the spot made for it to do so.

After it came to a grinding halt with a fairly loud clanging sound, Baldur said, "This way, follow..."

Eva started to think, how come she had never even known that they had a bomb shelter?

"Baldur, how come you never told me about this place?"

Baldur shrugged before he cracked a sly grin, "You never asked..." he said; before adding, "I was going to surprise you with it someday, anyway, I think you'll like it there, it's really rather nice. Oh, and it's not a bomb shelter, it's about eight hundred feet below the ground, and it's larger than ten average houses combined."

"Wow, talk about oversized. But anyway, what happens if were stuck in here for a while, do you have radio equipment."

Baldur smiled, "Oh, don't worry, there are escape tunnels, there are guards there, a few servants, a doctor, and there is a communications room." He said, as he led her through the now open wall and down the corridor to the elevator.

As the elevator opened, the wall behind them snapped back into place with another loud clashing sound accompanying it.

"This is huge! I can't believe it!" Eba gasped in awe.

Baldur nodded his head as he said with a smile, "Yes, dear, it is, isn't it? So, what do you want to do first... Well firstly, we ought to get our boy settled in his room, yah? And then afterwards, maybe go for a swim?"

"Yes, he looks tired. No wonder, he's had a busy day." Eva blushed.

Baldur patted her gently on the back and said, "Yah, we've all had a rough few days, haven't we? Anyway, let's go get him to bed, okay?"

"Okay then, I'll put him to bed now. Is his room near here?" Eva asked.

Baldur pointed down the hall and said, "Third on the left, down that way..."

He then leaned over and kissed her gently on the lips before he lightly slapped her on the butt, saying, "Hurry back now... I'd like to go try out the pool in a bit."

"Don't worry, I'll be there soon." Eva nodded, hurrying off down the corridor.

She came to the room and started to cradle the baby, hugging it and singing it a Dimmimaran song. She then laid it in it's cradle, watching it. She felt so proud. She left the room again, leaving the baby. She walked to the swimming pool area, seeing Baldur...

Baldur had already stepped into the pool, he was swimming nude, he hated wearing a swimming suit. When he saw her, he swam up to the edge nearest her and said, "Come on in, the water is great..." before he splashed a bit of water at her.

Eva giggle, diving into the water with her clothes on. She went underwater, reapperaing near Baldur.

Baldur was laughing as he put his arms around her and said, "Dear, you're getting your clothes all soaked..."

"And? They're wrecked already, who cares?"

Baldur chuckled, "Yeah, you're right..." He said.

"Although, they may come off, if you like." Eva said suggestively.

Baldur grinned, saying, "That might be nice..."

As he was about to say something else, a servant walked into the pool room and said, "Mrs. Schacht, there is a telephone call for you... From Jackson City, he identifies himself only as Joseph."




Ooc- I hope it's okay I've had Joseph calling, I figured he'd want to make sure that she's okay.

Joseph paced his study. He was sick with worry about Eva, he didn't know whether she was dead, alive or worse. He had called around about her for hours now, but the people he rang seemed non-responsive. He called Eva's house, despite thinking that it would be the last place that she would go to.

"Hello?" said Eva.

"God, Eva your okay! How are you, I thought you were dead!"

"That bastard Franz tried to kill me."

"I'll kill him when I next see him!"

"But, anyway, you should come round, you're an uncle."

"Wow, I'm feeling old! But anyway-What? You got back with Baldur?"

"Yes I did, although I don't feel like discussing what happened to me in full."

"Okay, look, I'll call you later, I've got to get to the shelter, bye."

"Bye."

Eva handed the phone back to the servant and made her way back to the pool.

"It was just Joseph, he wanted to know how I was."

Baldur smiled before he said, "Great, I'm glad you have family here to talk with, it's nice to have family around to talk to. My only two surviving family members are my father and my brother, most of my uncles, aunts, and cousins were killed in farm attacks. Anyway, if you want, I could have Joseph flown here in a military convoy and he could stay here with us, the war seems to be focused mostly in Kahta anyway."

"That'd be great." Eva replied.

Baldur kissed her on the forehead and said, "Great, I'll go call him right now, okay?"


Baldur climbed out of the pool and walked over to the phone, he dialed Joseph's number and started to talk once he answered.

The first thing he said was, "Greatings Joseph, how are you? Eva and I wanted to invite you to come stay with us for a while until this war thing blows over..."

"Yeah, thanks. My bomb shelter is a bit crap anyway. But what about getting out of the complex. There are still Franz's goons at my gate."

Baldur shrugged before he said, "Oh, I had no idea... Here, let me call them on my cell phone and I'll take care of that."

About two minutes later, Joseph would be able to see the troops had all left the area.

Baldur then asked, "Okay, are you clear to go now? I can send a helicopter for you..."

"Okay, I should be seeing you later, bye."

Joseph ran forward outside. He could hear the helicopter approaching. Finally it landed, and he was able to get on board.

Within about two hours, the helicopter had arrived at Baldur's estate as storm clouds were rapidly moving in. Shifting patterns of grey and black obscured vision of the higher parts of the sky. Nothing seemed to be calm now, not even the animals who were stirring from the high grass they bedded down in and moving in a mass exodus away from the estate.

Joseph could see deer, hundreds of them, running from the area around the estate, and birds, by the millions, flying south towards the coast, over the estate property. It seemed every bird in Tennessee and northern Mississippi was flying south, and if somebody told him they were, he'd believe it. The sky was literally blacked out with birds, he'd only known about the clouds because he'd seen them for himself before the helicopter had landed.

Joseph moved forward rather uncomfortably. The mass departure of all of those animals made him feel nervous. He himself had witnessed this before; once.

As Joseph walked forward to the mansion, he could see a few crows sitting on a wire running to the mansion. Their eyes seemed to glow red, and they seemed to follow his every move.


In the bunker, Baldur had received a phone call, he took the call and immediately started shouting and pacing back and forth, as he shouted things along the lines of, "Damnit, how far... Contain it, now... Don't let them find out!"

Joseph was starting to get scared now, the crows seemed freakishly abnormal. He started to walk backwards slowly, trying not to attract the crows attention.

One of the crows then dove at him, gaining rapidly towards him, ready to sink its claws into him, or to stab into him with the sharp beak. But suddenly a shotgun blast erupted and it fell to the ground, stiff red blood oozed out of it. Baldur was holding the shotgun and standing near the door. He immediately shouted, "Get inside, now! Hurry! Eva's in the bunker, she knows what's going on in, get inside..."


Baldur had told Eva, as he was walking to the elevator, that a new strain of the IG Virus, had leaked out. The IG-BS Enhanced Strain, the deadliest and most resilient of all strains made.

"What in fucks name!" Joseph said in dismay whilst running forwards towards the door.

Once in the bunker, Baldur sat both Joseph and Eva down and made his explanation quick to the both of them, based on new things he'd learned while in the elevator talking on the radio with his Schacht Corporation Containment Team (SCCT).

He turned to Eva and said, "IG Virus, the most potent and longest lasting of the strains, but also one in which about ten percent of the population is immune to in the aerial stage, is out and about, it's literally hanging over southern Tennessee as we speak, and it could float this way if the winds are right... We need to get to northern Mississippi to our field command post and handle this there. Eva, if you're willing, you can help me make a cure, but we'll need to leave right away, it'll take several days possibly weeks... It's dangerous though, but really, I don't know if I could do it without you."

He then turned to Joseph, and said, "If Eva is coming with me, you'll need to stay here and keep Baldur II safe from harm, okay?"

Eva and Joseph nodded in unison.

Baldur then lightly kissed Eva on the cheek before he said, "Okay, dear, let's go get ready, you'll need armor and a weapon, okay? You can handle a G-36, yes?"

"Sort of, I'm not very good with it though." Eva replied, feeling the gun.

Baldur shook his head, replying, "Don't worry Eva, you'll do fine, I'm sure. Just put the laser dot where you want the bullets to go, and you're fine, okay? Anway, that's just a tool for your defense in the event they come close. The soldiers ought to keep them away though, but that's just in case, you know? Anyway, we ought to get going, so we can get there in time, yes?"
