Ramissle's territory in the new continent was blosseming. Three cities were fully constructed already, and the cities of Ithaca, Cliffton, and the Raston Naval base were nearing the end of the planning stages. Something was bothering the remaining Senate members though. They knew that Ramissle wouldn't last long in Nubia, with the lack of power stations from the recent conflicts. They also knew that the current colony was not big enough for 743 million. They could have took more land by force, but good ol' President Statton scrapped the Defense forces, and the replacements wouldn't be completed for several months. So, they were stuck. Until Randy Reach came along.
State of the State Address, New Groton
"My dear citizens, you are a happy bunch. Sure, we have had our fair share of bad luck, with extra, for the past couple years. But this is a new age in our nation! I am happy to announce, that the entire country is moving to this new continent!" It seemed as if the whole city had begun to whisper. "Now, now, don't worry. You may think 'overcrowding', but thats not true. Our Darkstar UAV's have discovered a string of islands connecting to the mainland. You, the everyday citizen, are free to claim up to 15 acres of land in this currently unoccupied area. Anywhere from Thebes to TRALM, plus more, are up for grabs. Pamphlets will be handed out, explaining the exact rules, restrictions, and other importaint things. Go out there, and claim!"
Groton Bay was filled with small boats. Almost every person with a fishing boat, yacht, or pleasure craft (almost everyone) was out attempting to get a piece of land. Obvious problems occured; congestion, crashes, and general accidents were common place for the first hour or so. However, the major problem was with the weather. Ramisslians were experiencing their first winter.
NG Hospital was filled to the brim. Hypothermia. Frostbite. Goosebumps. Being in the constent sun of Nubia had made them soft, temperture wise at least. An estimated 13,000 people died, and at least 60,000 were being treated. Of course, not everyone got sick. With the support of 100 Ospreys and 150 Apache's, the islands were fully occupied in a matter of days. The first mainland claim was made a month later, and the entire area was claimed by land grabbing Ramisslians after a year. Ramissle was fully MetaEarthian.
