Before I enter, officially, I simply wanted to make sure this was Waylend (the country) and not a minirp because I didn't want to assume it was because I didn't notice you stating it was. Anyway let me know and nice plot by the way, I'll join no matter what, but just wanted to get all the facts straight before I jumped in head first. :p

News of the now-famous "1 O'clock Incident" made their way even to the remote archipelago that housed the fledgling nation of Krioval. The High Council was in a state of shock, and there were mutterings that Waylend must be suffering from a terrible curse. Of course, the Health and Science advisors were refraining from lending credence to such a suggestion, but even they were convinced that whatever was going on in Waylend was, at the very least, not one hundred percent natural in origin. The Spiritual Advisor, Andruik Dova, spoke first, his voice strong and assured.

"The affliction of Waylend is obviously the influence of either evil spirits or bad energy. Do they even have Gods there?" He allowed his incredulity to even affect him before continuing. "They have no social programs to speak of, and despite their freedom, the citizens of that country appear to worship the flow of money over the harmonious embrace of the divine! We would do best to avoid this altogether, and to make a sacrifice to Jenara, Goddess of Purity, lest our hubris overtake us as well."

"I accept your report, Lord Andruik," the Chancellor, Raijin Dekker interrupted. He knew that to let the Spiritual Advisor continue would keep the Archon Council in session until well past midnight. "Lord Jevo, what is the position of the Science Council?"

"We are convinced that the 'curse' is actually an artificial biological construct. Whatever role the Gods may play in this, we do not, of course, find divine intervention to be a likely cause of the outbreak," the Lord Telovar then puased, before finishing. "We think it may be the work of terrorists, or a subversive element within their country."

"Why do you think that?" Raijin asked. Another voice snapped up the question.

"Actually, we think that because the first victim was the Waylend President." It was the Director of Kriovalian Intelligence, Lady Melena Kriov. "Think about it for a second, Raijin." Her familiar mode of speech would have shocked nearly any other Councillor, but then, Raijin and Melena had quite the history.

"I see." Raijin turned to his Foreign Advisor. "Vardun. Send a message to the current leader of Waylend. Inform their nation that Krioval requests news as it comes, and that we would be willing to assist in tracing these manifestations. We can discuss the public nudity laws tomorrow."

To the Office of Acting President Karl Hamington, of the Nation of Waylend:

News of your plight has reached even the shores of our modest nation. We request more information and stand ready to assist in determining the cause of the affliction. We pray for the swift recovery of your people.
