COME AND GET YOUR MINES!
Well, I've always noticed a shocking scarcity of mines in NS, despite their annoying lethality. So here are some.
Part II Vehicle and Naval Mines: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=8025537#post8025537
LMS-14 "Featherweight"
Description: A small landmine that packs a lot of punch. Only a tiny, tiny portion of the mine is above ground, making it nearly invisible. Also, the mine is very sensitive, requiring only 11 pounds of pressure to detonate.
This guaranteed to remove the foot of whoever steps on it.
Specifics:
Weight: 14 oz.
Trigger: Pressure.
Guarantees: Minimal, foot. Can remove leg, or both legs of small children.
Cost: $10 per mine
LMS-15 "Grisly Amputation"
Description: Another anti-personel landmine. Heavier than the LMS-14, but is nastier. Same light pressure plate and low visual signature though. Guaranteed to remove both legs.
Specifics:
Weight: 30 oz.
Trigger: Pressure
Guarantees: Minimal, both legs at the knee. Can remove both legs at the hip on small children.
Cost: $25
LMS-16 "Deathwatch"
Description: A bouncing mine, buried entirely underground (works up to 20 feet underground). This mine as soon as the soldier steps off, will leap to around neck height and blow up. Guaranteed to remove heads, even through face shielding and helmets.
Specifics:
Weight: 64oz.
Trigger: Pressure
Guarantees:Minimal, the entire human head. Will remove upper torso or arms as well.
Cost: $50
LMS-17 "Humanitarian"
Description: Digital clock allows user to set an explosion date, so innocent civlians won't get blown up after the war's over. Otherwise, it's the same as the Deathwatch mine.
Weight: 72 oz.
Trigger: Pressure, Time
Guarantees: Will definitely blow up as dialed. See LMS-16
Cost: $100
LMS-11 "El Cheapo"
Description: Extremely crude, cheap landmine. On the plus side, it's made of plastic and looks like a child's toy. Will explode, we can say that.
Weight: 30 oz.
Trigger: Pressure.
Guarantee: Will explode.
Cost: $1
LMS-13 "Butterfly"
Description: Clamps onto its victims like a bear trap before blowing. Can crush bone with ease.
Weight: 52 oz.
Trigger: Step on the trap/Pressure
Guarantee: Will remove 1 leg.
Cost: $70
LMS-21 "Leaf"
Description: Flat sheets of high explosive designed to look like leaves. Leaves can be custom made to blend in with local foliage.
Weight: 5 oz. per leaf
Trigger: Pressure.
Guarantee: Will remove several toes (per leaf), won't blow away in wind or be washed away by water.
Cost: $1 per leaf.
LMS-30 "Rising Phoenix"
Description: Thermite particulate is sprayed, then lit. Everything within a 10 foot radius is vaporized. Inspired by a South African car security system.
Weight:121 oz.
Trigger: Pressure, time.
Guarantee: Will vaporize everything inside a 10 foot radius.
Cost: $760
LMS-99 "Mother of God"
Description: Nuclear mine. Lithium Hydride Anti-Matter charge for lightness.
Dial a yield .01 Kt to 1mt.
Weight: 10lbs. 4 oz. (101 lbs. 9 oz. as MT)
Trigger: Pressure, time.
Guarantee: Will absolutely, positively destroy the person/vehicle that triggers it.
Cost: $10 million. (Sale restricted to nations that I trust)
LMS-503 "Spider"
Description: Self-Propelled AI Mine that hurls itself onto incoming hostiles.
Specifics:
Weight: 15lbs. 8oz.
Trigger: Proximity, time, pressure, remote, hostile designation.
Guarantee: If programmed correctly, will never vaporize a friendly.
Cost: $125.

OOC: 'Can remove both legs at the hip on small children' lol, just for that, I'll buy a bunch.
IC:
While the Canadian Tundra does produce a variety of mines ranging from anti-personnel to anti-tank, the Department of National Defence would nevertheless like to procure 1000 of the LMS-15 mines. The cost of $25,000 will be transferred upon confirmation of the order.
*Secret*
The Free Provincial Alliance would like to procure 20,000 LMS-14s and 20,000 LMS-15s. The cost of an estimated $500,000 will be transferred upon confirmation of the order. OOC: FPA is a splinter nation of the Tundra as a result of a civil war, both nations are controlled by this account.

We denounce the use of mines in warfare. Although they may be effective during combat their affect on a population after a conflict has been concluded is far more devastating.
Mines pose a huge threat to innocent civilians who just want to go about their everyday lives without the risk of having their limbs blown off or losing their life. Look at the horrific civilian casualties in Africa due to the widepsread use of mines, children as young as 3 or 4 confined to a wheelchair for the rest of their days. Adults, forced to use crutches walking alongside the bodybags of those who were not so lucky, if you wish to call being lucky having to live with a tortured existence, waking up every morning and having to deal with your maimed body.
We ask you to remove this storefront and pursue a more responsible use of weaponry that will not endanger innocent civillian populations.

Wirraway: ooc: Hmm... well, i'm just cornering a small niche market. I'll install a few "blow up after a certain period of time" triggers on the more expensive models.

We will purchase 10 billion "leaves" and 10 billion "El cheapo" the total for both being a total of 20 billion dollars.
We'd also like 1 billion "Death watch" mines for a total of 50 billion dollars.
We will be sending the 70 billions dollars upon confirmation of the order.
All mines will be inspected by the DIS and other parties before their installment in the 5 mile "No-go" zones that are our borders.
(We have a 5 mile buffer zone inside our nation, along every border, no civilians are allowed there, they can only cross the borders at official heavily guarded checkpoints. We have typically 1-2 battalions at each checkpoint)
We already have well over 3 million border police, 100,000 remotely activated 7.62mm miniguns, and over 1 billion mines on our borders. We plane to make it so much better though.

Greetings from the Technocracy of Sharina.
I am interested in purchasing these mines. Before I make a purchase, I would like to know if I can purchase domestic production rights to manufacture these mines for the defense of my nation.
I hope to hear from you soon.

OOC:
PArt of the reason of the scarity of mines on store fronts (well appart from the general fact that msot nations assume that they can produce enough of the run of the mill equipment so they only need to buy stuff if you presetn a new super snzzy rifle or tank and mines well lets face it just aren't sexy enough) is that UN nations are banned from using them, of course soem people have ways around that ;)

ooc: Yeah, but they're basicly just for mining the military base perimeters and prison perimeters.. And the accational execution, naturally. You lay out a minefield and drop the poor devil who is to die off from a helicopter in the middle of the field. If he makes it out alive, his death sentence is converted to life imprisonment. Makes a helluva show as well.
