IFT-105 'Trench-Fox' Infantry Fighting Vehicle
Length: 21ft 2in
Width: 11.85ft
Height: 11.7ft
Weight: 50,000lb (unloaded); 67,000lb (loaded)
Speed: 50mph (road); 30mph (off-road)
Range: 290mi
Armor: Total Composite-Reactive
Primary Armament: 30mm chain gun; TOW-II (Fire-and-forget) system
Secondary Armament: 7.62mm machine gun (coaxil); smokescreen; smoke grendes
Powerplant: 900hp diesal-electric hybrid engine
Crew: 3 + (6 passengers)
The IFT-105 was first employed as barely mass-produced IFV's in West Belarus and Latvia fighting off small pockets of resistence. It was being slowly introduced into all of the Confederate Wehrmacht. The 'Trench-Fox' as it has been nicely named, is a support/anti-tank vehicle used to go head long into battle against out-numbering odds. It also is capable of transporting up to 6 soliders within its hull.
Armor & Protection
The armor of the IFT-105 is being slowly introduced into many new designs of tanks, most notably the F-90 'Hessian'. It uses the standard total composite mixture plus reactive capablities. On most models, it uses explosive reactive, but a few of the IFT-105's have been modified to use electric reactive in some cases. The armor has been field tested and proven worthy against the odds.
The 'Trench-Fox' is equipped with two M257 smoke grenade dischargers, each loaded with four smoke grenades. It is also fitted with an engine smoke generating system.
Armaments
On the center, rotating turrent is a25mm chain gun aswell as a 7.62 mm coaxil machine gun. It also uses a newer version of the once wire-guided TOW system which is being replaced by GPS controlled systems. One of the newer systems is called the TOW-II (Fire-and-forget) system which has been placed in the 'Trench-Fox'. The onboard GPS system takes coordinates from the extensive radar aray, locking onto the enemy, and firing the TOW missile from command.
On the side of the gunner: The gunner is equipped with a Swastika Industries Integrated Sight Unit (ISU) which includes a day/thermal sight of magnification x4 and x12. An optical relay provides the image of the gunner's sight to the commander. The turrent is also new to the system, it is 360 degrees unlike most IFV's like the old American Bradley. The 360 view allows the engineers to target their entire view, which is especially useful in urban combat zones. The periscope can be replaced with the Swastika Industries AN/VVS-2 Driver's Night Viewer with a 25mm second generation image intensifier. 'Trench-Fox' will be equipped with the DRS Technologies Driver's Vision Enhancer (DVE) from 2005.
