Generalissimo J.L. abdicates!!!! (att'n: Sarzonia)

Presidential Palace, RB City

Generalissimo J.L. peered over the latest reports on the 'progress' or lack thereof, made by the RB military in its war against Sarzonia and felt dread grip his heart. Bunching his hands into tight fists, breathing in shallow, ragged gasps, his chest searing, he struggled to regain his composure. Never had he imagined that one of his best friends would become a deadly enemy, and moreover, never could he have anticipated his destruction at the hands of such a person.

It was after midnight, so Thiansiri was asleep. He called the RB Department of the Treasury. "Yes, I need you to wire all the money to my private account in [Earth DA] Nicaragua," J.L. said. "I don't give a fuck if it's illegal, do it, goddamnit, or I'll kill you!"

He hung up. "Insolent bitch."

Half an hour later, he had packed as many belongings as he could into four suitcases and ten crates. They were loaded into a huge military helicopter, along with his Cabinet members' luggage and Thiansiri's belongings. He, his Cabinet members, Thiansiri, and as many Shoobans as there was room for, all boarded the helicopter, which ascended into the clouds and sped off into the night.

Aboard the aircraft carrier ISS Peligro, a lieutenant manning the night shift signalled to Captain Karen George, the commanding officer of the squadron that was keeping a Roach-Busterian squadron at bay.

"Captain, get a look at this," the lieutenant said.

"Looks like we've got a bandit leaving R-B city. Looks like it could be a helicopter, but I'm not sure."

"Get a squadron up to intercept it. I want to capture whoever is in there and take them in for questioning."

"Aye, sir."

A fighter squadron took off from the deck of the Peligro and it signalled to other carriers in the blockading fleets. Within a matter of minutes, several squadrons were in the air and two of them flew in a pattern to surround the helicopter.

"This is Incorporated Air Squadron One to unidentified aircraft. Surrender immediately or be shot down."

The squadron prepared its machine guns in the event the response was negative.

The pilot radioed the air squadron. "Our intentions are peaceful. J.L. is gravely ill, and we wish to bring him to the hospital. Most of ours were destroyed by you bast- er, by your attacks."

(OOC: In case you're wondering, J.L. isn't really "abdicating." He- or rather I- have a plan. ;))

The aircraft ranged in more closely to the helicopter.

"If J.L. is gravely ill, I'm sure you will understand if we ask you to land your helicopter aboard the Peligro so we can get him medical attention," the lieutenant responded. The aircraft kept their machine guns trained on the helicopter.

"You are ordered to land aboard the Peligro immediately. If you do not land, we will shoot your craft down," the lieutenant said. He turned off the signal to the helicopter and contacted the rest of the aircraft in the squadrons.

"Target their engines only. Prepare to fire on my command."

"Target acquired sir."

"Now are you going to do things our way and land on the Peligro so we can get J.L. the "medical attention" he needs or are we going to have to do things the hard way," the lieutenant radioed back to the helicopter. Some of the aircraft moved in from all sides to tighten the noose around J.L.'s helicopter.

"The choice is yours."

"Very well, we will board the Peligro. We have nothing to hide. There are no weapons on our chopper."

"Very good decision, sir," the lieutenant responded. He radioed to the Peligro.

"We've got the bandit, sir. We're escorting him to the Peligro. Please get full security detail ready."

"Acknowledged. Give us five minutes."

"Understood."

Aboard the Peligro, a full, well-armed security detail assembled at the helipad aboard the Peligro.

"I want a medical team on the scene in case they're being truthful, but as soon as he's aboard the Peligro, he's under arrest," Captain George said. He and everyone else in that chopper are to be taken below ships to the brig where they are to be considered prisoners of war."

"Aye, sir."

George herself stepped out to the deck as the squadrons began their descent to the Peligro. She was waiting for the opportunity to place Roach-Busters' cabinet officials under arrest. She eyed the full complement of security personnel who pointed their rifles at the helicopter as it prepared to land. They surrounded the helicopter to prevent any attempt to escape.

J.L. and everyone in the chopper stepped out, hands raised, signalling that they were not about to try anything funny.

"Take me to Sarzo," he said.

"I'm afraid that's not possible," George said. She stepped forward as the security men surrounded the people stepping off the helicopter and restrained them. She stepped forward, right into J.L.'s face and glowered.

"Generalissimo J.L., you are under arrest and charged with the attempted assassination of President Mike Sarzo, among other crimes. You are being taken below to the brig where you will be put in a maximum security cell.

"Take them away," she said. The guards led everyone down to their cells. Thiansiri and J.L. were each being led to separate cells, and each cell was tightly guarded.

The Peligro would remain on station until another carrier came to relieve it, though one just put to sea from Nicksia. It was scheduled to arrive with its support squadron in one week. The Peligro would then steam toward Nicksia where J.L. would be escorted to prison.

President Mike Sarzo just sighed when he found out that J.L. was taken into custody. The time to celebrate was not now.

"I'll accept my arrest on the condition that you cease your attacks on my nation and release my Cabinet and wife," J.L. said.

"You don't have a choice, J.L.," George replied. At her cue, one of the guards surrounding J.L. pushed his rifle into his back. "And your Cabinet and wife are also under arrest as possible accomplices."

George walked behind J.L. and the guards as the cabinet members and Thiansiri were all led to their cells. Once each one was escorted into a cell and the door to each cell was locked, the guards escorted J.L. past Thiansiri's cell to a separate one far from hers.

"Get in there," the guard said gruffly, shoving J.L. with the butt of his rifle. Once J.L. was in and the door locked, George scowled at J.L.

"The only way you will see the President is if your country surrenders unconditionally."

"If it means occupation by Sarzonia, then, over my dead body!" J.L. shouted. "Otherwise, it's perfectly negotiable."

"That can be arranged," the guard said. "Don't try her. She could kill you with her bare hands.

"The way I see it, you have only two choices. Surrender or die. And it won't just be you dying. It will be your entire country that perishes at our hands."

"I don't think you are in any position to negotiate," the guard said. "Your people are starving to death because of the blockade. Your military is in ruins. You are now our prisoners. I don't think Sarzo's going to give you any way out."
