OOC: FT claims on Solar System?

I'm thinking about 'evolving' into a FT nation soon, and this brings up the issue of which planets I can explore (and claim :D ) without being shot down by some UberMegaDeathStarIpwnz0rj00!!!11!! So this thread is to allow FT nations to state existing claims on planets within the Solar System (the one where Earth is sometimes referred to as Sol). No new claims please. To verify a preexisting claim, I will require nations to link to another thread in which they make the claim or otherwise make it clear that that property is theirs (e.g. a thread about an explosion on some settlement on Mars would be considered evidence of a claim to Mars). Claim threads made on or after 22 January 2005 will not be recognized for this purpose, to prevent nations from creating threads after reading this from making claims.
This is not a thread where you can claim new territory--it exists only so I don't run afoul of nations 500 years ahead of me in tech in my expansion.
Once I do go FT, I plan on using a combination of Star Wars and Halo tech for space combat, and a combination of Halo and BattleTech technology for ground combat. For those of you who don't know, the MechCommander and MechWarrior games are all based on the BattleTech universe, so you can google those games to get some idea of what I have in mind.
Edit: I'll keep my geology technology, as it'll be useful for both terraforming and combat.

You wouldn't be able to enforce this if you tried. Hell, nations with claims and much older than either of us have problems enforcing their claims at times.
Oh, good luck on this. Every planet and moon in the Sol system is already claimed, often by multiple people. You can try to jostle with those nations for room, but pretty much all of the open space is on Terra, parts of the asteroid belt, or outside the system entirely.

OOC: So you mean to tell me that every last one of Saturn's moons is claimed? Damn, that's a lot of moons. :D
That's a major problem, as space programs don't just automatically start with hyperdrives. What's Terra, btw? I'm not FT yet...

Terra = Earth.
Admittedly, pretty much all of them are claimed. I know someone who has claims on Jupiter and it's moons, Mars and Earth's moon have actual governments for them, etc. Even Earth Orbit has parts of it claimed.
I'm sorry to come off as hostile, but I don't know of anything in the system unclaimed. And I've been looking.

I just hang out in Orbit around NS Earth (The Earth that's every NS country, not one of the Earth I, II, III, IV, etc., or Earth N+1, or Earth....well yeaqh, just any of the Earth's that deal with real countries), although I avoid countries that just shoot anything in space that's above them.

Nah, you're not coming off as hostile. This is OOC, after all. ;)
It only set my space program back about 150 years so I can develop a faster-than-light engine, that's all.

If you're a FT nation you should have at least SOME sort of FTL travel. I guess if you don't want to piss anyone off you could pick out a nice little star system, or leave it undisclosed and just refer to it as a name, but not referencing the area. I, personally, claimed Upsilon Andromedae.

The solar system is already cluttered.. i started alrady as a space nation on Coronae Borealis, i have been expanding slowly into the rest of the constellation, i suggest you do some massive exodus to another system or something like that..

Or you can buy them, either the tech or actual drives.
Or 'just happen' to discover a wormhole, or contract a FT nation's corperate interests to relocate you, or buy/discover/invent some kind of gateway system, like the Stargate, or plot-device teleport your nation to another planet, etc.
If you're interested, Uniphase Armouries Interversal would be interested in helping you find a soloution to your needs. For a modest profit, of course.

Just join Planets I and you can earn FT instantly (Almost). You get HyperJump at no cost. You have to build your own combat ships and future-tech weaponry.

I generaly claim a military moon base and a mars colony, though I havent really done anything with them...
Meh :P

Or you could just not originate from Terra at all. My nation's people, the Anikari, are essentially identical to Earth humans, but their homeworld is in the Perseus Arm. That, and personally I would recommend not losing sleep over how to explain it ICly. For now, just establish a presence (something I have still not gotten around to doing, lol), the IC explanation will come with time.

Dude!!! Thats exactly how I started (still am in fact). 1337 R0><0RZ!
