Black Mesa declares the completion of the 'Crab Project'.After the opening of interdimensional portals which were fortunately closed very quickly, we have gained some alien technology. We have codename these new soldiers cloned as a result of the tech the 'Black Mesa Paramilitary Division'.They are the only military force we currently directly control, as we are a research facility with nominal independance, rather than a nation. Our primary defence remains our undisclosed location.

More Details on the BMPD:

Numbers: We have only 3,000 of the 'base ingredient' required for the creation of BMPD troopers.

Deatils on 'Base Ingredient':The 'base ingredient' is also known as a headcrab. These creatures are highly agressive 'monsters', which hop around on their powerful rear legs, trying to attach themselves to the head of their target.Once they are attached, they take control of all the functions of the body, effectively killing the host then taking over the body. This makes them a very effective weapon against enemies with large troop numbers.

Tactics:Usually a swarm of 100 headcrabs will be put into cages and fired in rockets into enemy fortifications and troop formations. This removes any need for buying weapons in Black Mesa, as any enemies can be turned to your side, weapons and all. Head crabs are however indiscriminate in who they kill, so until Genetic Modification techniques we are developing to create an in built IFF are completed, we fit a self-distruct into the headcrab clones, so when the fight is over the headcrabs simply explode, neutralising any threat they pose.

Armaments:Whatever the enemy is carrying.

Threat level:These creatures cannot take a lot of damage in their headcrab form, but as the BMPD 'Zombies' they are EXTREMELY strong, and develop huge claws capable of ripping kevlar ceramic into almost nothing very quickly.Very dangerous.
As headcrabs their natural defense of never staying still makes them very hard to hit, and at less than half a metre wide, tall and long they are difficult targets anyway.
