DGNT: New Anti-Slave Trade Policy
Dontgonearthere
22-01-2005, 05:01
As of today Dontgonearthere will cease trading completly with any nation which participates in the export/import of slaves. IN more severe cases we are considering application of sanctions, that is, enforced no-trade zones.
Now, to be clear, we are against the slaveTRADE. Slavery in of itself is perfectly acceptable within a nation. DGNT itself maintains an indentured servant policy to help releive debts, and it does indeed help with the economy.
The reason for this new action is that, aside from the recent upsurge in the slave trade and the wars caused by it in the past, that generaly large-scale shipping of human cargo results in massive death rates, disease and so forth. While not 'big' on enforcing our policies on other nations, we feel that this is a case where this action is justified.
We ask other nations of the International Community, both modern and future, to help us in stopping this despicable practice.
We applaud the nation of Dontgonearthere on their humanitarian stance concerning this disgusting practice.

The Great Cobra Empire has already banned all companies that manufacture slave ships or ships that can easily be converted from opperating inside our borders. we also have banned all precious stones and metals mined by slaves or children
Phoenix Studios

The Empire Of Phoenix Studios respectively disagrees with the whole idea of this concept, and requests that the Tempermental Nation of Dontgonearthere takes back what they have said. In accordance with this, we also request that the Blindly-Following Nation of Malkyer takes back its support as well. The reasons for this are quite simple, and I am sure you have all seen them, but for some reason still don't follow them.
1. Slave trade is a great way for commerce to bloom and flourish.
2. Stopping trade with the civilizations that do slave trade will do nothing but help destroy economies in nations that currently trade with them, and in those nations, it will only cause starvation of the people in them, starting with the slaves. Thus making this proposal counter-effective.
3. It is not right for nations to make demands upon what other countries trade in, as it is their bussiness alone. If you make demands on thier trade, you might as well tell them what they should buy and what they shouldn't! In all fairness, if you want to stop them from trading in slaves, then you shouldn't demand that everyone should stop trading with them.
4. If you want to stop slave trade, then make demands that directly and only affect that. Instead of stopping all trade, just don't buy any slaves. This will make the slave market go down considerably. However, you should still not demand and/or force people to not trade in slaves as it is their bussiness.
5. You said that even you have slaves of a sort. If you are to have slaves, but not trade with them, do you know the medical affects of that? They are incredibly horrible! If you only let the slaves breed among themselves, then they will soon become inbred, thus making their bodies become mutated, and their defenses against viruses low. By making them all inbreed, you are in a way killing them all, again being counter-productive. Unless you propose to free them, this proposal will kill them all.
So we, The Empire Of Phoenix Studios ask you, do you want to hurt economy? Kill millions of slaves? Kill millions of free people? Be counter-productive? Demand things of others that it is not in your place to demand? If you answer yes to any of this or go with this campaign, then I fear for the world.

"An interesting position on the delicate issue of slavery and the slave market. While the Grand Empire might have more extreme opinions when it comes to this topic, we applaud the stance of Dontgonearthere as an Anti-Slave Market nation."
~ Grand Prince Alexei Brusilov, Emperor of Daikerta

Of course slavery is a wrongful practise, and should be eliminated where possible. Of course, the greatest problem is that attempting to do so through war would surely prove pointless, as the enemy would likely use the slaves as fodder against you.
The Kingdom does not advocate war, nor do we "blindly follow," as the Phoenix Studios puts it. It is our right as a sovereign nation to decide what nations we conduct trade with, and it is our right also to congratulate other countries that enact policies we agree with. We expect the Phoenix Studios to respect our rights as we respect theirs.
We honour your new anti slave policy in fact we ordered all foreign manufacturing factories corporations to grant local factory wages to the workers at the factory to ensure they will be able to live well. If any corporation doesnt comply within our nation we will take measures and place it under government control.
The Holy Republic Of Hyndu sends Dontgonearthere it's firm decree that it will back Dontgonearthere should any problems arise form this firm anti-slavery stance. We applaud your efforts in discourageing this dreadful practice and currently are attempting to pass a simmilar measure throught our own Parliament.

We too support this quest of DGNT's to end slavery
Crimmond

The Imperial Party of Crimmond finds this partially amusing. The fact that you want to stop the practice of slave trading, but not slavery itself.
But instead of stopping the slave trade, do the opposite...
As Crimmond has done in it's past:
Nation A is selling slaves for whatever purpose.
Nation B, C and D condemn and threaten.
Nation E starts to buy.
B, C and D begin to mobilize.
Crimmond enters, offers to take an extraordinary amount of slaves and pay whatever amount, while privately talking with B, C and D.
The slaves are shipped and the electronic transfer from Crimmond is cancelled.
The slaves are released.
Nation A is left to it's fate at the hands of B, C and D.
This has worked on three occasions and is very effective.

NOTE: This, of course, only applies to slaves being bought and sold. Crimmond has slaves and an internal slave trade, but refuses to buy or sell slaves internationally. The fact is that we do not want bloodlines tainted, even in slaves. Inbreeding is a problem, but is handled by regular cullings and genetic manipulation.

DGNT thanks the international community for its support, and laughs scornfully at those who disagree with this new policy.
Haha.
Thank you for listening.
