It is the year 1999 and the second world war has still not ended. No major battles have been fought since the 40's thanks to a ceasefire ordered on all sides. In the six decades that have followed, countries have been modernizing and expanding their militaries. Due to the massive amounts of military might emerging in nations around the globe, tensions have been building up and the world is headed towards conflict once again. Past hatreds have been rekindled, and total war is imminient. Get ready to play your part!

Attention everyone: This Earth-like planet is basically a combination of WWII boundaries with more modern weapons and technology. Do not pass 1999 technology please, and stick to RL or upgraded RL (within reason) weapons.

PLEASE READ THE RULES BEFORE POSTING.

RULES:

1) You may only claim 1 of the main nations involved in WWII, all others are fair game, as long as the claims are reasonable.
-Main nations would be Germany, Japan, Britain, Italy, etc.
-The limit of all other nations is three.
-Some smaller nation claims may be denied if they play small but critical roles in WWII.

2) You do not have to roleplay the conquering of your claims.

3) Any nations with a join date of later than March 2004 will not be allowed to lay claims. This rule may be bent if the player is known to be a good roleplayer.

4) Please only join this Earth if you are active and willing to RP. No godmoders will be tolerated. Also, inactive nations will be filtered out.

5) This is an almost up-to-date RP so each side has had time to rebuild its armies and recover from its losses. Use current military and population statistics for your nations using http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/index.html.

6) Each nation's territory is what it had at the extent of its power. Germany owns everything it had conquered up until Stalingrad, etc.

7) Nation politics and ideologies have not changed. Nazi Germany is still fascist, the same goes for Italy. However, this has nothing to do with neutrality or declarations of war. Switzerland may choose to bomb Germany if they like, Spain can decide to join the Axis or even help the Allies.

8) This Earth does not have to strictly follow history, do not be upset if all the big nations are taken. Smaller nations can become involved. Imagine a South American front led by Brazil declaring war against Hitler! The possibilities are endless, but please keep them realistic. Also don't be afraid to help the bad guys. I'm sure the Nazi's could somehow persuade smaller African nations to fight for them to stay free. Again, the possibilites are endless.

Does that mean the Afrika Korps are still intact, and I would posess some of Africa? And, wouldn't Germany kind of have most of Europe conquered?

You may choose nations under the control of other nations and roleplay guerrilla forces or rebel factions once the war breaks out. For example, if someone claimed Yugoslavia they could play as rebels trying to fight against the Germans.

Dude, what? My opinion is my opinion. I never said it was correct, it's my OPINION. All I'm saying is that there are too many Earth threads now, it was far better back before the claims-rage started. I'm just getting annoyed at how many people jump on the band wagon and think "I know, I'll make a thread called Earth CCVI, and it'll be uber-cool, and uber-original".

I would like to point out that this is original, as it is a WWII earth, and it will be more like a big roleplay than an Earth, with the sides striving to control the world.

I'll be South Africa, which means I also own South West Africa (Namibia... Since the Western bloc hasn't fought much with the Commies, then it's unlikely SA would have withdrawn).

I guess relations could have deteriorated with England a bit, considering there are alot more German favoring Boers than rooineks, but we'll assume we've remained on the Allies side.
