Factbook of The Confederacy of Codian States

Background: Created from a quartet of protectorates of The Republic of The Desolate Barrens, the original four states were recognized as a new nation after the Desolate Revolution of 1874, which brought the end of the Republic after the Treaty of Kell. Over the next hundred years, three more states were added as neighboring ex-protectorates joined the Union and the Kingdom of the Left Wing Hippy was annexed. Having developed a market-oriented economy, the Confederacy enjoys a comfortable, steady pace of economic growth, low unemployment, and rapid advances in technology. Recent budgetary surpluses have sparked efforts and government initiatives to address civil rights issues and inequality issues that have sprung up in the wake of the burgeoning economy.

Geography: Located in South America (Brazil-ish), bordering the south Atlantic and south Pacific oceans – 9,311,245 sq km (land = 9,085,201 sq km) (slightly smaller than U.S.) Climate is tropical to the north, mostly temperate to the south. Flat and rolling lowlands in the north and east give way to plains, then hills and mountains in the south and west.
