[News Boradcast, live form the ISF Devastator]The Federation of Stellar Nations has announced today that they have created a drive that will propell them faster than light to new stars. The SN Scientists have no idea how it works, other than they were testing some machinery for an experimental drive and it flung them to the star system of *reporter consults papers* Alpha Centauri. Navigation has been relativly simple, the testers said. They just oriented themselves toward a star, hit the switch, and they were at that star in *consults papers again* 5 hours, 33 minutes. (333 minutes total). They oriented themselves tward Sol, with help of the Seti system, after testing it out on a few stars, and came home and reported the system. They say that the new drive blueprint is available at the price of *consults papers* an ASTOUNDING price of 500 trillion dollars.[End Broadcast]

Green Sun congradulates you, but we've already acquired a technology similar to it, only more efficient than this 'Hyperdrive' that many nations use.

Other nations may have aquired the hyperdrive, but the Stellar Nations was not interested in buying it. They were not interested in researching it either. They just stumbled upon it.

wow, stellar, you realize you wasted your economy for like the next 10 months...unless you have foriegn aid by another country of something, and could you provide proof

How exacly did I waste my economy for the next 10 months? and what do you mean by months, NS months or RL months?

and I have no other goverment support, other than sales of my stuff.

and it's not like it's hard to move the country. It's a huge spacecraft.

10 months? I think not.

Considering a good many FT nations come into play with a functional FTL drive in the first place, RPing building one is sorta like a perennial "10 dolla!" investment for a budding... uh... stellar nation...

Now if SN were to say that they were building a Death Star, I'd be right there with ya...

im looking at your economy and you an 100 million dollar GPD, in other words you cant afford this, unless you spend EVERY dollar of your budget for the next ten months

Caluclators are for people too lazy to actually RP. Don't put much stock in them.

Otherwise, go Wormhole Drive!

Look, i didn't do any research on it, i stumbled on it, with a new type of drive i was experimenting with.

yeah....stumbling into advance hyperdrive technology, makes sense my mistake :headbang:

OOC: Personally, I prefer my graviton drives. Does the same thing with less time and doesn't subject me to most FTL inhibitors. It also tends to annoy people who wish to stop my ships when they realize the ships are in real space the entire time and their FTLi don't cover it.

I'll post my IC in a bit.

hey, history is full of blunders like that. Most early experiments were 'Hmm... wonder what this will do' rather than 'I want to do this'

I guess, but stumbling into hyperdrive COME ON, i dont even care though cuz im mainly MT, but COME ON

Besides using this technology cost alot of money (hyperdrives cost money and than fuel and maintance) so you couldn't equip any of your ships with it

ER...can i ask one thing WHO DIED AND MADE YOU GOD OF THE NS WORLD?, my nation stubled apon Hyperspace (but i use Babylon 5 Hyperspace) and for all you know the fuel could be Hydrogen or some other fuel sorce that is in space all the time, Maintance meh that gets lower the longer you have it (think about 50 years ago how much did your average computer cost? and now?)

Anyway welcome to space, tho i dont see how you would explore deeper space with ease but well good luck.

OOC: *cringe* If Valinon had known about that beforehand, I'm sure the ship would have ended it's journey very suddenly and permanently in Alpha-Centauri.

OOC: Stellar Nations, in the future it would be nice if you would make sure the system you are "popping" into isn't inhabited or isn't the home system of another nation. That ship would not have gone completely unnoticed in the home system of the United Star Empire of Valinon for over five hours. It would have been politely asked to heave-to by the Kriegsmarine and then asked what the hell it was doing there.

If it could explain itself fine. The Star Empire is generally understanding of scientific nations, especially those taking their first steps into space. But rest assured, Alpha Centauri is not up for grabs and it is thoroughly inhabited.

I ddn't know Alpha Centauri was inhabitied. Sorry, But any contact with others would be kept a secret, to make the discovery of the hyperdrive more glamorous (It kind of downplays it if more people have it)
