The six ex-Navy Wasp class Amphibious Assault Ships marked "KSC Shipping" were chugging away, moving on an epic quest. They had gone a long way, they heard tales of a fantastic new land, and soon departed with orders from the Shogun to colonize the new land in front of them and create the ideal anime paradise.
Aboard these ships were 2,000-12,000 men, and equipment to begin a beachhead, as well as a Mulberry Dock. They would land, set up a base camp, and an airstrip for more settlers and men.
They soon stopped near the shore, and sent landing boats with parties of men. After several minutes, the landing boats hit the shore, and the men came out, armed and ready for danger.
One of them pulled out a flag. Planting it on the beach, he said, "in the name of Anime, and God, we claim this land!"
The men cheered, now they began to unpack, and signaled to the others to come onshore.
Things were looking bright so far....

The others soon began to come onshore. The total sum of the Exploration Party, some 12,000 Infantry and support vehicles in the Wasps, landed on shore. They began to make their way inland, the area was warm, and lush, and hilly, with some jungles, much like Hawaii. It would be hard to settle here, but it would be an excellent place for defense.
The Commander of this Expedition, Jonathan O'Donnell, contacted the Shogun.
"Milady, we have the area secure, no hostiles, bring the shisouhan, and the regulars."
"Acknowleged."
Soon, the rest of the colonization fleet would come, mainly, otakus, Church of the Clow converts fleeing from Upper Xen, shisouhan (thought criminals) from the various Sites, and those who could not be trusted otherwise, would come here to start new lives, and to continue the idea of Liberty.

The Expedition Party set up a Mulberry Dock and an airstrip using the equipment they brought, soon people from the various parts of the world came.
First came the freighters with the shisouhan, and housing facilities. They were unloaded, and forced to work. Some 5,000 got off of the ships, they would be the new work force for the colony. They got to work, setting up prefab houses and paving roads.

OOC: Looking for colonists....

The slaves, before long, built the town of New Newport, using prefab houses and all the essentials for a small town. In about two days, they worked feverishly, and made it happen.
This town was equipped to support 5,000 people, good thing they built it, because the first C-130's with supplies and the first DC-10's with people, some 5,000, came to the town.
As for who would lead the colony, Jonathan O'Donnell, the man onboard the boat, would officially become governor, for KSC Enterprises' new colony. Unofficially, he would become Daimyo of Shin-Nihon, ruling a colony of 5,000 freemen and 5,000 slaves for the RALM.
The Expeditionary Force that had come divided up, forming a perimeter around the town, and sending a company to explore the area.

Several weeks had passed, and Shin-Nihon was proving to be a thriving colony. The initial population of 5,000 civilian freemen and 5,000 "contact workers" swelled to some 12,000 freemen and 8,000 "contract workers," mostly from the ranks of RALM undesirables.
The city was thriving, agronomists had checked out the area and rendered it apporpriate for growing cotton, sugarcane and tropical fruits, plus rice. The "contract workers" were put to work, clearing and planting these fields, nobody else would do the heavy labor.
By this time, Daimyo/Governor O'Donnell was living in a large house, and he was enjoying his status as ruler of the colony. The colony was stable, both single men and women, plus families had moved here to start new lives, ensuring a healthy, civil environment. Besides, they had the feared Tokko to keep things calm if they weren't.
Building was happening, an armory went up, a church went up, a store went up.
Expeditionary forces searched the nearby area, in the meanwhile, searching this land. There were no natives, it seemed indeed to be virgin tropical rainforest and grasslands. The Pathfinder platoons that did the exploring found an abundance of bauxite and some coal and oil. In general, much of the military was concentrated in defending the town of New Newport.
Still, with the rapid pace of development, things again looked bright.

"You know what? I want to know who else has landed on the continent. Use our old satellites to find out who's there," the monitor said to the operator shortly after detecting the Collapsian Corvettes, "So find out who's there."
"Aye-Aye, sir."
He watched the screen as they saw thousands of people running into the new continent. They spotted their own colonists, over a hundred thousand strong. It also seemed that they had found a new island and were sharing it with Sharina.
"Who's that?"
"Um...The Real ALM."
"Send them a box of turkeys and pineapples. Not diseased ones like we did to Hataria. Just plain 'ole turkies and pineapples."
"Sending..."
Within three hours, a cargo plane with crates full of turkies and pineapples flew over the Real ALM's new territory, dropping them. The boxes had big, green smiley faces on them and said,
"Enjoy your turkies!"

The population by now, had matured siginifcantly. The 12,000 freemen and 8,000 "contract workers," now grew to 30,000 freemen and 12,000 "contract workers," plus 12,000 soldiers. Courstesy of immigration and natural births, they had helped establish a presence on the island.
Sugarcane, rice, rubber, and pineapple fields were growing now. Worked by "contract workers" and poor freemen, they became the heart of a growing agricultural industry in Shin-Nihon. The men who owned these farms grew to become like the barons of old, ruling the island along with Governor/Daimyo O'Donnell in the House of Executors.
In the West, which was more isolated and rugged, bauxite and coal mines were being worked at a frantic pae to keep up with demand. They grew each day, and were worked by people in New Newport, or the new town of New Naha, or by people living onsite, in what became known as Miners' Bay.
Factories were springing up, small workshops, they churned out tires, munitions, and necessities of life, at cost to the world.
Investment by foreigners was limited, the masters of the colony, the barons, O'Donnell, and the Shogun, wanted to ensure the colony developed the way they wanted to. As a result, much of the wealth of the colony came from companies that were owned by the barons, the Governor, KSC Enterprises and the RALM.
The military presence also increased. The RALM began training infantry there, and firebases guarded the border with other lands, using Stingers, Pirat AAMG's, and Patriots. A force of 12,000 remained to guard the colony.
