With a heavy military escort including several battleships and aircraft carriers with fighter aircraft buzzing like hornets knocked out of their nests, a convoy of eight cruise ships with 500 people in each set off toward a new continent upon its discovery. Their effort was to establish a place where they could spread out and at least feel as though they were worlds away from war.
The journey took several weeks with warship and cruise vessel alike all trying to conserve fuel and scoping the area for bandits. When they finally reached landfall, they streamed out to the land and hurriedly built a tent city, which would serve as their temporary home until they were able to construct houses, schools, hospitals, etc.
They decided to name the city Publius in honour of the imperator of one of Sarzonia's closest allies, Praetonia. They also began construction of a shipyard and several engineers from the Portland Iron Works scoped the place out looking to increase the shipyard facilities the company had to work with. The people would soon have jobs, homes, and lives and they hoped within a five generation benchmark to have their own country.
