Maiden Voyage
First Encounter Thread between Kormanthor & Outer Heaven MK II
Captain Scott Damitz after entering his huge ready room sat down in his Italian Leather swivel business chair slowly turning it around with his back turned to his huge, extremely heavy crystalline desk, to stare out the picture window port. Outside the Planet “ Adventura “ spun slowly in space on its axis, encircled by duel rings, and back dropped by the swirling multicolored gas clouds of the Briar Patch Nebula. As Scott gazed down upon the planets surface that had been his home now for ten years, he again realized the extremely clear atmosphere that enabled him to identify places on the surface with great ease was one of the most important reasons he had decided to transfer here from Earth.
Another mass of thick, darkly opaque storm clouds again covered the ocean surface area known as “ The Sea Of Storms “. Man, the planet surveyors had really named that area right he thought. Suddenly lost in thought, he remembered his vacation two years earlier when he had skydived from a shuttle in a low orbit. He had controlled his flight path so he could glide low over one of the gigantic electrical storms of the Sea of Storms which ended in his landing in the headwaters of River Valley, near the legendary
City of the Gods, on the Continent of Riverlantis. Then had white water rafted down the entire length of its long twisted river to the open sea where the shuttle had plucked him out of the Sea of Storms itself.
But now he had better get his mind on business, the business of captaining his new ship, the UKS Defiant; a Peacekeeper Dreadnaught.

Peace Keeper Class Dreadnought / The UKS Defiant
CAPTAINS LOG:
In thirty minutes we will launch for the very first time. I have personally completed an inspection of the entire ship, as well as conducting crew indoctrinations and division head readiness meetings. On my authority I declared this vessel space worthy … Damitz Out.

(Outside a number of suited engineers turn flips on the riggings walkway as the new dreadnaught exits)
Mr. Jarvis plot a course out of the BPN
Aye Sir … Course plotted & laid in
Mr. Redmond give me full impulse to the edge of the nebula, then we will test our Warp Engines.
Aye Sir … Full Impulse in 5…4…3…2…1… Mark
(On the viewscreen the ship makes its way between huge swirling clouds of the multicolored gases, that make up the nebula.

Captain we have just cleared the BPN

Mr. Redmond give me Maximum Normal Warp, heading due galactic north.
(Outside the ship jumps forward in a multicolored flash of light into Warp)
Aye Sir Maximum Warp in 5…4…3…2…1… Mark
(Eight Hours Later )
Captain I am picking up a distress call.
Location Ms. Kochensparger
Two Light Years off our port bow Sir
Change Course Immediately … Drop out of warp near that Ship
Aye Sir
(Out side near the distressed ship the UKS Defiant can be seen exiting Warp
& Coming to a stop near the unknown ship )
Lt. Comm. open a channel to the unknown starship.
Aye Aye Sir * ' In a flash of hand movements the channel opens and the comunications officer speaks * Channel open Sir….
