The Day of Release (history of a revolution)

Korep
19-01-2005, 06:34
(OOC): This is just an introduction to my nation. I wanted to do an RP on how this nation came about as a first RP. As this is in the past, please only post to comment on this thread. Also, just for your information, the residents of Korep, a future tech nation, are bioengineered creatures that are about 4 feet tall, and look like 6 limbed cats.

(IC): As Sassarath lay back into his FormFit chair, he set the wall to display the city of Farson as seen from the top of the Pinnacle. For a while he rested in his darkened office, looking out across the capitol city, and listening to an old ballad. And as he grew calmer, he started to reminisce. He thought back to the old days. Back to before he was the High Councilman of the Star Federation of Korep. He thought of how far they had come. He remembered the days leading up to The Day of Release.

Sassarath was awoken by the tone of the house system. Still groggy, he looked over at the readout. A messenger from the emperor of Korep was at the door. He quickly released himself from the FormFit bed, and selected an appropriate suit. As soon as he was dressed, he headed up to the door. His dwelling, as was normal in most cities, was underground. Although he wasn’t high ranking enough in the new government for an aboveground estate, he was entitled to a house on the first floor.
“What is your business?” he asked the messenger.
“Sir, the emperor requires your service at the palace. There is to be a meeting of the generals. Plans for the new Korepian military are to be made,” the messenger replied.
“Tell the emperor I will be there shortly.”
“Yes sir!”

Bowing to the emperor, Sassarath took his place at the oval table. Soon the other generals joined him around the table, awaiting the emperor’s word.
“I have called you here today, because we are ready for the next step,” said the emperor. ”Ever since we contacted the race of man, our people have desired to copy some of mans traditions. And the tradition they wanted most was that of a more democratic government. The people had grown tired of the constant empires. Soon, everyone was demanding a new central government. And that is where we came in.” explained the emperor. He paused a second. “As you know the emperors have been forced into becoming the single empire of Korep, ruled by me. The next step is for me step down, and allow a federation to be formed. I will then head the new federation. Then the armies will join into one. And that is what we are gathered together today for. All of you, the generals from each former empire, are here to discuss how to do this,” he finished with a smile on his face.
“First we should pick the top generals,” said a female general.
“Also we should plan some exercises together, for training purposes,” said another general.
“Yes, excellent,” said the emperor. “To bad you wont live long enough for that to work out.”
“What are you talking about?” exclaimed a third general.
“The power has gone to his head,” Sassarath calmly explained. “And he can’t have an unpredictable military to force him out of the empire like the other emperors.”
“Admiral Sassarath is correct,” admitted the emperor. “And now I will kill you all.”

The door slammed shut, trapping the now frantic generals. Slowly the emperor began to flicker, and then fade.
“He must have been using a SolidHolo projector,” Sassarath cursed.
But he had been predicting that the emperor would get out of control. He knew it was too much power for one human being. At first he had believed that only a human could be used to form and rule this new government based on human ideas. But after he had met the human, he changed his mind. By that time though, there was little he could do. At least he had prepared for this day. As he heard the guards come down the hall, he quickly flicked out a special organic blade from inside his clothes. He was glad the guards that searched him weren’t worried about a bunch of boring generals. He quickly calmed the other generals down, and got them to position themselves around the door, behind some potted plants.
As the door crashed open, he saw he was in luck. The guards were humans wearing basic body armor. As soon as the guards entered and saw the empty table, Sassarath gave the order to attack. Five generals from each side jumped onto the bewildered guards. Sassarath knocked one guard to the ground, driving his blade through the lens on his helmet Pulling the blade out, he spun around, catching a guard with a roundhouse kick to the stomach, a slash from his claws to the mans weapon hand, and slipped the blade through the joint under his helmet. Pulling the knife out again, he quickly subdued three more guards. Seeing a guard about to radio for backup, he threw his knife. As it slashed though the man’s transmitter, Sassarath leaped onto the man and pummeled him to the ground. Seeing that most of the guards were subdued he yelled for the remaining generals to follow him out of the palace. Bleeding from a bullet graze, he rushed for the exit.
Even now, Sassarath couldn’t remember how he got out. He could remember taking a fallen guards weapon, and heading for the nearest exit. But after that, he could only remember collapsing into unconsciousness in the woods near the palace.
