Athens (Thanks to Columbia University for the Delegates!):
Cleon (OPEN) : Though he has little education, Cleon is a gifted speaker who began his political career with a series of attacks on Pericles. He is very antagonistic to Sparta and successfully opposed Sparta's peace proposals. First successful against Sparta and later killed inaction, he retains his reputation as a vulgar and unprincipled demagogue, especially as described by his enemies Thucydides and Aristophanes.
Nicias (OPEN) : He is the successor and rival of Cleon. A moderate democrat but not quite an oligarch, Nicias is always a proponent of peace with Sparta and is successful to some extent. He shares power with Alcibiades and, and has been described by his detractors as militarily incompetent and indecisive.
Alcibiades (OPEN) : He is a great rival of Nicias, with whom he shares power. He is a young follower of Socrates, with great creativity, energy, and oratory ability. He can be quite rash in decision-making, however, and will cause large-scale military upset. Later in the war, Alcibiades is eventually recalled from battle to Athens for religious crimes. He then betrays Athens and advises Sparta, only to return back to Athens later.
Demosthenes: (Krawkovia) : Known as the greatest of ancient Greek orators, he calls for Greek unity and freedom.

Sparta (Thanks to Columbia University for the Delegates!): The other superpower of the Hellenistic World. Is famous for its complusorary military service for young boys.
Pleistolas (OPEN) - Ephor: Pleistolas is a pre-eminent Spartan lawyer, regarded as an expert in Lycurgian tradition. He served with the Spartan hoplites in the Persian War, and he was among the Spartan troops in the final routing of Persians from Greece. He has served as ephor once before.
Danagetis (OPEN) - Ephor: Danagetis is the eldest son in a family of stone merchants. While a Spartan citizen by birth, he spent most of his youth and adolescence in Corinth, where he was not exposed to the agoge system. As a result, he tends to value profitable commercial ventures over successful military expeditions. He has three daughters and has sent them to Athens, where it is rumored they are prostitutes. It is also rumored that Danagetis values the filling of his own coffers over the maintenance of the Spartan good, but there is no formal evidence to support this idea.
Chionis (OPEN) - Ephor: Chionis's election as ephor came on the heels of his brother's heroic rescue of four small children and a goat from a burning shack on a hill just outside Sparta. While the brother died from severe burns days later, his association with Chionis won Chionis a large number of votes among the Spartiates. This year is his first term as ephor, and, while he takes his duty seriously, Chionis does not believe that he is quite worthy of the position. Due to an ancient family rivalry, Chionis is loath to agree with Danagetis and tends to argue against him, in both personal and political affairs.
Metagenes (OPEN) - Ephor: Metagenes is the son of a Spartan commander and a Persian woman. After his birth in Asia Minor, he was brought to Sparta and raised in the agoge system. Despite his illegitimacy, he has won much popular favor among the Spartiates; his delightful stories and antics translated well from the communal meals of youth to the politicking of middle age.
Akanthos (OPEN) - Ephor: Akanthos is seventy-four years old. This year marks his seventh consecutive term as ephor. He has previously been very reluctant to advocate military missions except those determined necessary to defend Sparta from local threats. However, he has seen the growth of the Athenian navy, and he views it as a major threat to Spartan power.
Echemus (The Great Sixth Reich): Echemus is a thirty year old man from the most powerful and rich family in Sparta.
Thenycrates (OPEN): Thenycrates is a visting Athenian merchant. She is basicly a beautiful, young, and intelligent woman.
