The Airman replied from his station, "There appears to be a town that has been placed on a complete paused, it looks completely abandoned."

Her East Indian co-pilot, Second Lieutenant Nirel Patel looked down through th window, "We should make another pass of the town, just to investigate?"

First Lieutenant Henderson cleared her throat, "I do not believe this is nessecary, it is not our orders. Our orders is to find the location of the train and see if they need any assistance and try and make a direct communication with them."

"On the way back then?" Nirel asked for affirmation.

"Yes, we will on the way back."

Over the communication system, "This is North Patrol Flight Command Operations Centre to Northseek II, report on your recent findings."

The First Lieutenant replied, "We still haven't found -"

The Airman replied, "Correction - we have found the... well what was the train."

"What?" Henderson responded.

"Northseek II, this is Air Commander. We want you to take pictures of the damaged train and bring it back for developing."

"Understood, you heard him, Brentworth."

NORTHERN PATROL FLIGHT COMMAND - C.F.B. CHURSHANK (MILITARY ENCAMPMENT)
Forty-Five Minutes Later

Patel looked over at First Lieutenant Henderson, "All those people in that train are dead. That train took out that town too!"

The three men walked out of the room as the Air Lieutenant Commander looked at the air team he dispatched to take the pictures, "Your guys work is done for today. Have the rest of the day off."

The team replied, "Yes sir."

President Anthony Wittrock sat in his office as he looked over documentation for the day's work and looking over the schedule his secretary had given him, a moment later the Chief of Staff - Kiel Wright entered into the side door quickly, "Mister President, there is a situation alert red right now, we must immediately make our way to the situation room."

President Wittrock stood to his feet and walked over to Wright and nodded his head, "Situation red?"

Wright moved to the side for the President to walk through the doorway first as he followed behind and eventually caught up beside the President, "Yes, Mister President. There has been a recent attack on our homesoil on a military convoy enroute to one of our encampments in the Northwest Territories this morning."

Wittrock stopped as he faced Kiel and puts his hand in front of him for Kiel to turn around and face him, "I'd be damned."

NORTHWEST TERRITORIES - TRAIN RUINS
TWO HOURS LATER

Canadian Troops in environmental suits to protect themselves from the biological and chemical pathogens of the virus stood guard with assault rifles as investigators looked over the ruins.

Military Investigator, Captain Hank Lawson picked up the metal casing of what appeared to be a mortar shell as he looked over it, he stood up and quickly walked in the other direction where the Team's Commanding Officer from a distance looked over the crash site.

The Colonel rushed in his direction, "Captain, what is that your holding?"

"A mortar shell. This was not a train accident. This was sabotage."

The report of the sabotage had came back to the President in the Situation Room. As the Chief of the Army had red the intial report to debrief from the investigating team, the room remained quiet for several minutes afterwards.

President Wittrock broke the silence, "We'll have to make a press conference of what happened to the Canadian public. They have the right to know."

The National Security Advisor replied, "Mister President. I do not think it is a great idea right now to report what happened in the North right now. The investigation is still going along, and it may jeopardize it."

"Get this investigation over with."

NORTHWEST TERRITORIES - TRAIN RUINS
MEANWHILE...

A small unit of eight soldiers dressed up in environmental suits were scouting the perimeter after the investigation team had learnt that the train was hit by mortar shells. Gunnery Sergeant Raymond Saunders looked behind him at Staff Sergeant Frederick Erickson, "Staff Sergeant take three other men and break up in two."

Staff Sergant Erickson walked besided and stops beside his Gunny, "Aye, Sarge."

Erickson turned around to face the men as he pointed at the men, "Freeman, Taylor, and Goligher your with me. Let's break off!"

The rest with the Gunny walked further on as the others broke off to the right as they came to a frozen mortar launcher with no one nearby.

The Gunny moved down to his knees to inspect it "What the hell?"

Coporal O'Rielly squatted beside him, "Something wrong, Sarge?"

The Gunny looked to the Corporal, "This isn't making any sense.."

A hideous person jumped at the Corporals back as they took him back, turning his neck back as it broke and took a bite at the flesh through the environmental suit. Then he broke the helmet and glouged out the Corporal's eyeballs.

The Gunny was freaked out as he quickly came up from his legs as another came behind him, tripping him into the snow smashing the helmet as the pathogens entered into his lungs through his nose and mouth and began to turn a light green.

The other two fired their weapons quickly at their assaulters as they fell to the floor, they inspected their Sarge.

"Oh shit!" Private Stephenson exclaimed as he pointed his rifle, "He's starting to look like them!"

"Kill him!" Lance Corporal White yelled.

The bullet fired as it launched into the skull of their unit commander.

NORTHWEST TERRITORIES - TRAIN RUINS
MEANWHILE...

Staff Sergeant Erickson and his team of three approached in the direction of Gunnery Sergeant Saunders as they scouted the area and didn't find anything significant.

As they came to the place where a small battle took place Staff Sergeant saw the Gunny laying on the ground with his helmet broken with a bullet hole through his skull, insubordination the Staff Sergeant thought as he glared over at Stephenson and White. He walked over at them, "Explain why there are four people dead here and two that are not wearing environmental suits?"

White explained, "Staff Sergeant - one of the men attacked Corporal O'Rielly, killed him, another attacked the Gunny and broke his helmet as he fell the virus went through as it went through his oxygen pathways. We had to kill them, so he wouldn't kill us later, like they did with O'Rielly."

Erickson looked over at Stephenson, "Is what Corporal White explaining the truth, Private?"

"Yes it is Sergeant."

"Okay, I take your word for it. Let's take the bodies to base for a autopsy. We need to find more about what we are dealing with."

The Sergeant noticed the mortar launcher, "Pick that up to, so we can put it into evidence."

SITUATION ROOM - MILITARY BUILDING - PRESIDENTIAL COMPLEX
Victoria, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Federal Republic of Canada

An hour and a half later...

The National Security Advisor debriefed the war cabinet, "Mister President as of right now we believe somehow sabotageurs came into Canada and somehow they knew of the substances on this military train enroute to a Canadian Forces encampment in northern part of the Northwest Territories. They destroyed the train by a mortar launcher and two shells. It is beleived that the first shell hit the train track four hundred metres in front of the train which derailed it. Then another was launched which hit the train, it exploded and released the toxic pathogens into the air."

"I am satifised that we can have a press conference on the details we know?" President Wittrock inquired.

"Yes, Mister President. I believe we can."

PRESS CONFERENCE ROOM - MEDIA BUILDING - PRESIDENTIAL COMPLEX
Fourteen Minutes Later

President Anthony Raymond Wittrock sat down in the center of the long table as his Press Secretary sat down on his left, his Chief of Staff on the right of him as the Joint Chiefs walked into the room and sat down in chairs behind him, as well his aides and the National Security Advisor, State Secretary and the Defense Secretary.

Wittrock cleared his throat, "At about approximately at four this early morning, someone, somehow sabotaged the military infrastructure in the North West Territories. It is confirmed that these individuals used two mortar shells. On speculation, the first hit a military train route five hundred metres on a track five hundred metres in front of a military transport train transporting military personnel and equipment enroute to a Canadian Military Base Encampment. The destroyed track derailed the train while the second mortar shell struck the train and killed all hands onboard. This is all the information we have on file right now. We may be able to answer all questions - however firstly we request our closest allies to assist us into this investigation immediately if they have the resources and funds to do so."
