Communists take over!

Taledonia
19-01-2005, 00:47
On the peaceful islands of Taledonia, nobody would have forseen what was to come. 15 minutes outside of the capitol city, Taledon, communist forces marched towards it, and the senate. These invaders from an un-known country (OOC: anyone, feel free to rp the communist nation.) had come with a sole purpose, enslave the islands into communism.

Taledonian News channel/ 3:30 PM

"Good evening, our top story tonight: A foreign communist army landed on the beaches of Taledonia today and attacked the capitol city of Taledon. The local preatorians could not stop the overwhelming numbers of the invaders and the senate was captured. Taledon is currently the only city taken. Taledonian troops are preparing to recapture the city but fear they may fail. General Sylvester has taken control of the rest of Taledonia and has not spoken about asking for foreign aid as of yet.

In other news..."

20 miles outside the city of Oakvale/ military headquaters of General Sylvester

"Sir, we've got a number."
"How many?"
"Roughly 15,000 men."
"Is that it? Is that all we have?"
"Yes, sir. Sir, maybe we should put out a call for help."
"Fine, send a transmission."

Dernag, FCL 9:00PM

Moments after a brief call from the Lantag was made, the military harbor sprung to life. Within hours, 40,000 troops, along with crates of equipment and weapons were being loaded on ships bound for the en-battled nation of Taledonia. At the helm of this operation was the brilliant-strategist Adrimal Manfred Tirpitz.

A veteran of 3 wars and 8 other conflicts, Manfreds battle scared face had seen all types of action and was perpared for most anything. A communist invasion did not bother him in the slightest and he was eager to be throw back into the field of battle.

Within 10 hours, the first of 20 ships set sail and left the massive concrete and steel docks of Dernag. As lunch time approached, they were out in open seas and paitently waiting to arrive at their destination.

The troops moved through the jungle towards their destination. Night had fallen and the troops knew they had to move quickly to arrive at the city before the sun came up. When they left the jungle, they ran over the lush green grassland only to arrive 10 miles outside of the city. Communist troops had set up patrols and outposts all around, getting through would not be easy. The troops moved steathily and unseen towards the river that flowed through the city and jumped in. They then moved with the current into the city. Arriving in the city, they made their way to the nearby preatorian guard building, which was closed up by the communists, and set up a small camp. They did not make any fires or loud noise, but went to sleep to await the morning, when their next task would be initiated.

6:00 AM

The troops hiding in the building awoke to the sound of gunfire. They looked out the window and saw communist soldiers taking 15 prisoners to the nearby jail the communists set up. A communist tank rolled through the street below, scanning for anything. It was time for the men to get to work, they weren't called Delta for anything. They made their way over to the senate building, lowered the communist flag, and erected a Taledonian flag. That was the signal. Soon 3 F-18 Hornets flew overhead and launched missiles at a grouping of communist tanks. The Delta troops inside the senate opened fire on any communist troops they saw. This gave a great enough distraction for the rest of the Taledonian forces to arrive. 38 tanks, 56 convoy trucks(carrying 10 troops each), and 82 troops moving on foot entered the city from the east. The vehicles came to a stop as 2 convoy trucks were destroyed by tank fire. The men piled out and started firing and boarding the enemy armor. Waves of fighters constantly bombed large groups of enemy troops as well as strategic spots the enemy had taken up. The assualt on the capitol had begun.

"Sir," said the secretary, "I've got all this morning's reports - oh, and a country's been invaded by communists."

"What, again?" Sam raised an eyebrow.

"'fraid so, sir. Taledonia this time."

"Darn. Send a memo to Mr Tolvedde when you can, tell him to send them some ammo."

"Who? The communists?"

"No, Taledonia, you nitwit."

"Right, sir."

OOC: this is my first RP so whatever lol dont expect much.

First, we would like to thank Bjornopolis for their..strange...support. The civilians were neutralized and their guns siezed. The goat supplied food for our hungry troops.

This is our final warning. Surrender now, or prepare yourselves, for the worst is yet to come. We currently 1.3 million soldiers, ready for deployment. Our scientist have been working around the clock for years, and our prototype jet, the U14X, which is powered by our main ore resource, uranium, is finally complete, and has been mass-produced. Our ground units will be carrying a newly developed AK-47U, which will be firing refined uranium-coated rifle shells. More than a considerable amount of our ground units will also be carrying with them armor-piercing rounds. Our other prototype vehicles and weapons are ready for mass-production as well. We have obtained the coordinates of your largest weapons caches and civilian camps from captured soldiers, after many days of cruel torture and starvation. If you refuse to surrender your nation to be reformed in a communist fashion, we will not hesitate to mobilize our army.

We will not weep for your losses, and will not be stopped by our own failures. You will be defeated.

okay, looking good for your first RP, a few things though
1.) you just got started this month, It's highly unlikely that you have 1.3 million troops. a more realistic number (while remaining quite a fearsome one) would be closer to five hundred or so thousand. also, it would be wise to have tanks, not just infantry (useful for small, newer nations. I personally don't use them but then again I have over a hundred thousand dollars to spend per soldier and can give each one his or her own LAW.)
2.) "We have obtained the coordinates of your largest weapons caches and civilian camps from our intelligence officers that have infiltrated your military"?? say soemthing more like 'from captured soldiers' or 'from spy dsattelite footage' never ever say 'from spies that have infiltrated your military' this makes you sound like a smal child and will usually be ignored unless you jazz it up some with soemthing like
"Bob the secret agent looked around carefully. noting the positions of the guards he waited until one was looking the other way and {insert fancy spy moves here} satisfied that the uards were neutralized he used one of their access cards to open the facility door, slipping in unoticed he quickly located the plans for the ammunition supply site and took several pictures, also taking in a map that noted the facilities location. Content with the information he had gained. Bob the spy slipped out of the building, unoticed. nobody even knew anything was wrong until th next watch came upon the {dead, unconcious and or tied up} guards"

On a purely technical note; the US air force experimented with nuclear powered aircraft and found little or no merit to the idea. my advice is a methane injection turbojet, it has higher performance, altitude and fuel efficiency than a standard turbojet and is less polluting. save your uranium for tank armor (depleted uranium is one of the densest materiel available for practical tank armor use) armor peircing ammunition (rockets, bullets and tank shells) and Nuclear power plants. other wise you seem to be shaping up pretty well.

First off, thanks lol

and second: The reason my military force is at 1.3 million is because i am running a strictly communist/corrupt country where my population isnt technically conscripted, but military service is highly "recommended"... I will rethink the jets, but yes the use of tanks and other ammunition in unison with uranium is implied when i said "Our other prototype vehicles and weapons are ready for mass-production as well." after speaking of my other uranium weaponry.

thirrrrrd: lol well in regards to the whole bob the spy and his fancy moves thing, telling a story wasnt really my intent. Us kamis are tricksy sons-a-%&^*$'s, and well i liked my intelligence thingy... but captured soldiers is a better way lol

Hearing reports that the communists were gaining even more power, General Sylvester had to resort to drastic measures.

Under cover of night, 30 steath bombers headed to military camps and captured cities. All targets had been located from satellite images. The bombers approached their targets and unleashed their payloads. The bombs had increadible effect on the startled enemy who could do nothing. Directly following the bombings, armored divisions and infantry poored in to finish off remaining communist forces. The remaining naval ships that weren't captured by the communists started engaging enemy ships and transporting troops to other islands rightfully belonging to Taledonia.

19-01-2005, 06:15
By noon the next day, many communist regimes had either surrendered or been destroyed. The main island as well as many other islands had been retaken, most enemy ships destroyed or recaptured, and above all, the communists have started to retreat to the second island were they would regroup. Not much damage was caused to the cities but rebuilding was still needed. Also, to take the communist forces still occupying the second island, the Taledonian troops would still need all the foreign help they could get. The communists had amased a force of over 3 million troops, and armored divisions on the island, as well as a large naval force and air force.

At the height of the cold war, the USSR never had more than three percent of its population in the military, the highest percent of population in military of any non nomadic nation ever is less than five percent. and anything more than five percent can only be maintained in the event of a hostile invasion. because the more people in the military, the more people you need to maintain your military. realisticaly, with your economy and population you could have a military of total maybe six hundred thousand, thats including service personel, pilots, sailors and tank drivers. the whole lot. in this situation you could only have a total nfantry presence of less than fifty thousand. You curently have more than six percent of your population in armed service, unless you plan to attack us with spit balls and paper airplanes, you can't afford it

Taledonia is a grouping of small islands in the pacific. There is one large island(main island, already retaken by Taledonian troops), a smaller island to the east(second island, currently occupied by communist forces, largest grouping of them there to.) and about 3 very small islands with only one city each(Taledonian controlled). There are over 3 million hostile forces on the second island, which includes tanks, aircraft and naval ships. Our forces are only 9,872 strong, with 125 tanks, 79 aircraft and 7 naval vessels. The communists have naval and air patrols going around their island constantly. There is a small fishing village and a beach on the southeast of the island that has very few guards. A naval landing in this village would ensure us a foothold on the island and we can restock our supplies there to. Our forces are ready to deploy when you are.

A large, green and black helicopter blended into the forest as it landed onto a small landing place. Four men started to cover it with a green sheath, looking like the ground, as four men walked out of the modified chinook. The group was immediatly countered by two guards and a general.
"General Jackson, what is the situation?"
"We control the whole island, sir. We have patrols going around the island every ten minutes and all our systems are ready"
"Good. Are we ready for a full-scale attack yet?"
"Not yet, sir. We need to rest our troops from the retreat to this island and our transports and helicopters need to be fueled"
"I will give you three hours to get these troops ready. And get those tanks hidden!"
"Sir, yes, sir"

City of Taledon
Imperial Senate

"We should strike them, and strike them now!" yelled senator Alfis as most of the other senators yelled out their agreement. "No, we should try to negotiate with them, Taledonia is not prepared to fight them." countered another. "You say that when even now they have enslaved our people!? We must send troops to the island of Avo!" "No! We should wait for our reinforcements!" Senator Julian looked down at his feet with disgust, "Stop your screaming! It is true that we must send our forces to the island of Avo and it is also true that we must wait for our foreign aid. I have a solution that should benifit all. We cannot afford to give those communist bastards anymore time to prepare. We will land on Avo and take the fishing village of Knothole Glade, from there we will wait for our reinforcements while continually doing air raids on the enemy. If....When we take the village, it will turn their attention away from this island again." As he finished all the senators started talking. 2 minutes later, they had all voted for the idea.

2 AM

The sun was just rising on the islands of Taledonia. Over the soft sound of the waves, the sounds of the patrol ships could be heard around the island of Avo. As soon as the patrols left the southeastern area of the island. Small Taledonian landing craft starting moving in. The quiet motors making little noise so not to attract attention. 30 seconds before the first craft landed on the beach of Knothole Glade, 3 stealth fighters flew overhead and fired on artillery, tank, and large groupings of enemy troops. The men jumped out and fired their M-16s at any communist soldiers they could see. The large naval vessels had had stayed silently out of sight suddenly came to life and approached the island, ready to fire on enemy patrol ships. Whithin 30 minutes the town was taken. The people cheered as the soldiers walked throught the streets, the rising sun glitering off their weapons. The 2 remaining Taledonian carriers had now approached close to the village, with all the rest of the naval vessels around it for protection. Fighters and bombers were constantly taking of from the decks and flying out to look for enemy movement.

The soldiers moved quietly in the forests, observing the activity going on outside the village. The Achleonian soldiers gave each others hand-signals and backed to the nearest camp they had. The artilleries slowly turned towards the village as the tanks closened up on the village at the same time, staying clearly away from it so the Taledonians couldn't hear them. The about 2000 soldiers inside these panzer tanks were nervous about this. They reported their positions quickly to the main base and bombers flew off from the carriers a while away from the shores of the island. The battleships regrouped, ready to bombard the village and the nearby forests and other boats soon.

Commander general Blackrock walked down inside the trenches, planning their next movement as his 30,000 men available and well rested, waited for a command to attack. This would be like cutting butter with a sharp knife. Easy and swift. He gave the green light and the artillery loaded up and set out a full bombardment. Men with the newer model M-18's covered into small fox-holes and covered themselves in sheats so they would seem like the ground. They were right near the village. Besides the artillery, it was quiet... too quiet...

OOC: It was godmoding a bit but also it was kinda obvious that I was gonna win. Before you took control of the communists, I said the town wasn't guarded by many soldiers so.

IC: The Taledonians heard the artillery shells fly threw the air. Villagers and military personel alike ran for cover. The few mortars that they set up prepared to fire as 16 F-18 Hornets took to the skys and did a recon of the enemy artillery pieces. The mortars began to fire when the coordinates were relayed back. The F-18s then started to patrol the skies to shoot down any enemy planes they could see. 7 bombers left from an airfield close to the coast on the main island and headed for Avo. One of the cargo ships that were unloading supplies into the city got hit by the artillery. The battleships, seeing the enemy ships closing in on radar, launched cruise missiles at the enemy ships since they were out of cannon range. About 25 troops moved to the front of the town and took cover behind rocks and other things. Their weapons fixed into the forest facing them, looking for anything. Snipers got up into buildings that were close to the forest and started scanning the area also. The 2 tanks that were already unloaded rolled to the front and set up a position, their guns fixed on the forests while more foot soldiers ran and took cover behind them, also fixing their guns on the forests.

On the Lachenburgian Carrier LCS Gladiator

"Sir, long range radar reports incoming aircraft sats confirm." shouted young Lt. Robert Dawnburg.

"Thank you Leutinant." said Captain Borjn Hassekson "Number, range, source and TOI estimates?"

"10 aircraft so about 100 missiles, 10 each. Aircraft range is approx., 1,452 miles so specific missile targeting is flawed at best. Likely source, Communist Beachhead. TOI, 30 minutes."

"Air cover?" said the Captain

"30 R-MO1s up and ready sir, along with 5 E-767s to help em. Scramble gives us 10 min more before TOI."

"Any other vessels?"

"Carrier Gladiator reports ready, 30 planes up, 10 more with scramble order. TEMP system online and functional, all craft."

By now the Carrier deck was alive with movement, as hundreds of crewman went to prepare the deck for action. The fleet had reached its objective, but was now under attack by a very detirmended force. It would certianly take some quick thinking to get out of this one. However, each was confident in the abilities of his Commanding officers, who were now feverishly planning for the defense of this entire expeditionary force.

"Alright, its go time." said Captain Hassekson . Within seconds, R-MO1s began taking off from the Carrier.

"Now listen up," the Capitain barked, "I want a full stop for 10 minutes on the troop and supply ships and then a full ahead with a 10 Degree North change in course for the troop's ships and a 10 degree south change in course for the supply ships. They're already spread in the 'Turtle' formation, let's see what happens when they split that up right before those planes arrive arrive."

WHOOSH!!!--- Yet another aircraft left the deck of the Gladiator, its engines releasing a massive scream, as they rapidly accelerated off into the early morning sky.

"I want our pilots fed coordinates for the incoming aircraft. They are to launch all their Phoniex 2s at long ranges and relase AARAM's to take out any of the remaining survivors. Then I want another fighter group to load up with Exocets, along with MK. 5 torpedos and head for the enemy fleet. They won't expect a counter-attack this soon."

"Yes sir" said Lt.Dawnburg, still gazing out to see.

"What about the Kriegs-Marinen task force Captain?" he said as she confirmed the prior orders to the others on the bridge for action.

"Full ahead for 30 minutes with a 5 degrees east change in course then we circle around and head back to the transport's last confirmed position position." Said the Captain. "Alright soliders, to your battlestaitions. Lets give these bastards hell!"

A chorus of 'Yessirs!' filled the bridge, as men rushed from place to place and began to initiate the Capitian's orders.

Over the Fleet

"This is Motel 1. Tracking 10 enemy aircraft, moving east-southeast at approx. 500 mph. Appear to be Furcums."

"Alright Motel 1. Vector em for us and then get the hell out of dodge."

"Got that Motel 2. We're outta here."

Rapidly dropping down to 5,000ft., the E-767s nimbled maneuver back towards the Lachenburgian fleet. Menwhile, the remianing R-M01s pulled up to 35,000 ft. and armed their Phoenix 2 Air-to-Air missiles. By now, the Furcums had picked up their enemy companions with their high-frequency radars and began to adjust their course.

"Alright, guys. Give em hell on my count. 5...4...3...2...1...Count!"

Immeadeatley a salvo of 60 missiles tore through the peaceful blue sky, blazing at sppeds of up to Mach 3.5. The R-M01s pushed to full throttle and dived into their enemies, now desperatley trying to flee the oncoming missiles. Soon, little firey glows lit up the HUDs on the R-M01s, as many of the missiles hit their mark.

"Well, shit. We still got a couple left. I'm trackin several bogies at 4 o'clock. But it looks like the rest of em are toast."

Selecting his AARAMs, Motel 2 swooped down under the oncoming aircraft and pulled the trigger, sending more missiles down range. Unfortuantley, Motel 2 did not notice the sidewinder fast apporaching his aircraft and in an instant his aircraft desintigrated into dust. By now, the remaining Migs had fled back to their bases for re-feuling and rem-arming. Being too low on feul, the remianing Lachenburgian aircraft were forced to abandon their pursuit and headed back to the Gladiatior.

Two Taledonian fighters flew over the Lanchenburgian fleet. The comm channel opened up as one of the pilots said sarcasticly, "Bout time our reinforcements got here. Have trouble starting your engines?" Then the 2 fighters returned to their patrol duty, looking for commie aircraft.

:Aboard the Peregrine class carrier Phoenix's Tears:
The roar of fighter engines filled the air. half an hour earlier silent crow surveilance drones had been unleashed into nemy airspace and located an airstrip with a fuel depot right next to it. With out heavy bombers a night time raid would have been unnecesarily taxing on the pilots with out any gain of surprise. Farther out the Hornet class pocket carriers were beggining their launching maneuvers. accelerating to their considerable top speed until the fighters just lifted straight off the decks. The raid was timed to occur between shore patrols and the first group of aircraft were carying rockeye canisters set to delayed fuse. the next few patrols would find the beaches strewn with nasty surprises.

Attacking forces;
20 SF-37 fighter bombers
20 PC-12 air superiority fighters
24 SF-19 Light strike fighters
targets; 1 airfiled, 1 fuel depot, 1 tank concentration, 1 SAM missile position, forces split evenly for each target

The bomber fleet flew inside the clouds, hiding from the enemy aircrafts as much as they could. The large airplanes headed suddenly down and released a large number of bombs that screamed and fell down into the village the Taledonians had invaded. "Carrier Alpha heaven, this is the bombing squad 15. Mission accomplished. heading back towards you at once" the leader of the squadron said into the radio and turned the bombers around.

The artillery that was left, started firing twice as fast than before as transports left the Achleonian shores to bring them more supplies. it was still too quiet in the forest...
Suddenly, all the tanks rolled towards the village, starting to fire when they had clear visual on the enemy. The infantry started firing also from their hiding places. The battleships closened quickly on the naval force of Taledonia and opened fire on them

The few AA guns in the village started firing at the droping bombs, hitting most but still leaving a few to hit the village. By now there were 15 tanks on the ground rolling towards the front line. The snipers in the building saw the approaching tanks before they got to close and ordered the newly arriving artillery batteries and some mortars to fire on their positions. The tanks fired into the jungle, hoping to hit their targets in blind fire. The snipers concentrated on trying to hit the tank operators who were unlucky enough to be caught with their heads out. Through the scopes on the mens rifles, they saw the enemy infantry moving in, so they opened fire. Because Taledonians have lived in a jungle environment all their life, they were experts on jungle warfare. 2 fighters flew overhead and dropped 4 missiles that on impact with the trees, exploded into napalm. Screams could be heard of the burning communist soldiers. A hail of gunfire flew threw the jungle trees cutting threw anything in it's path. The naval vessels started firing their cannons on the enemy positions until they spotted the enemy closing in. They concentrated their fire on the enemy ships but they were heavily outnumbered. The ships started to flee to the reinforcing fleets for protection and to regroup. The fighters already in the air were chasing the enemy bombers high into the clouds, exhausting most of their missiles on them. This war was turning into another Vietnam.

The Commander general laughed as he heard that the Taledonians were putting up a nice fight. "Send all we got there" he commanded and smiled.

At least 26 tanks closened on the village after each other, firing towards the building and enemy tanks. The artillery started to turn towards the buildings that had been confirmed to have snipers inisde them. Only thing was that those who had informed them, had gotten a bullet inside them pretty soon after that. The infantry still rolled towards the village with huge force of at least a thousand more than the Taledonians had. They opened fire on fully automatic, as the small machine-gun nests that had been set up opened fire, blindly shooting everything that moved in the village.

The naval battle was raw. The Achleonian naval power had driven the Taledonians away, but not for long. The battleships stopped and didn't chase the Taledonian ships, but opened fire on the village from behind.

A small group of infantry reached the side of the village, setting quickly a machine-gun nest and opening a fire from the side, into the lines of the Taledonians swiftly. Many men had died in the napalm bombing, but for one dead, two ran forwards and shot in rage

((You do know, that napalm is pretty strong stuff. As close the Achleonians were, you were near of burning your own village to ground with all your troops in it))

:Aboard the Peregrine class carrier Phoenix's Tears:

Sir, we're receiving word that friendly forces are taking heavy fire from Achleonian navy.

"Launch the Crows, Tell Dracko to open channels to acquire targets and launch missiles on acquisition."
"Yessir"

The sailors had rehearsed the operation hundreds of times. It was fairly simple. the two men muscled the saceur shaped surveilance drone onto the over sized skeet shooter and pulled the lever. each launch took less thantwenty seconds. One minute and three Silent Crow surveilance drones were flying silently towards the Achleonian fleet. made almost entirely of RAM and RTM materiels and shaped to provide minimal radar cross section. The drones were practically invisible to any practical radar. clored light mottled grey blue on bottom and darker green blue on top they were very hard to spot.
:Aboard The Dracken Class Arsenal Ship Dracko:
"Sir, drones are over target and feeding coordinates."
"Acquire Targets, Open Missile doors."
"Doors open. Feeding targets." and a second later. "targets locked, all birds are trained."
"Fire Missiles."
the roar of the standoff Surface to Surface missile Boosters filled the small CIC room. And the missiles were on their way.

(How many ships you got in taht area cause unless you've got more than 250 then each one has a pair of very powerful missiles inbound. each has an active radar jammer and is programmed to randomize its flight characteristis once it comes into CIWS range. Very hard to hit.
I'm only firing on the ships that are firing on the village or are within about five miles of the ships firing on the village

The Taledonian fleet, noticing it's error, stupidity and cowardess, turned and started heading back to the village while firing on the enemy ships. 38 bombers flew over the enemy vessels bombarding the village and dropped their payload on them. All but 2 hit the ships with maximum damage. The Taledonian troops inside the town were getting slaughtered. The newly set up gun nest at their side was providing little breathing room. Quickly, 3 soldiers crawled up to the nest and threw a grenade into it, destroying it immeadiatly. The steadily advancing enemy troops was posing a real threat, but the rest of the force luckily arrived before the enemy ships did, and had joined their comrades. More waves of planes flew overhead, continously bombarding enemy armor, causing several casualties. The newly arrived tanks had set up by the others while more Taledonian troops took cover behind them and fired their weapons. There were now the complete 28 tanks in the village firing at the enemy. The snipers, quickly leaving their buildings when one got destroyed by artillery, ran to nearby trees without being seen and climbed up. They were sure to be more careful about being seen. Their clothes blended with the heavy leafs of the jungle trees, making them almost impossible to see. The tanks could take care of the other enemy armor, they were to concentrate on the machine gun nests now. They found it easy to locate them since there was lots of gunfire coming out of them. 3 more fighters flew overhead and not aiming for the enemy, but aiming behind them, released more napalm. The napalm spread quickly, spreading just 15 meters outside of the village. So far, the air was controlled by Taledonians, while the sea remained communist. The foreign allies had to do more than just sit there. Almost all the troops switched their weapons to full automatic, increasing the amount of bullets flying at the enemy. Thankfully for the napalm, many communist soldiers were killed and it would also slow down their reinforcements drasticaly.

Imperial Senate, Taledon

"We have taken the village of Knothole Glade but unless we send more aid we will not be able to push threw after the siege is over." "We will send more. Contact General Sylvester."

Taledonian Military Comand

General Sylvester sat reading the e-mail from the senate. He leaned back in his chair and thought for a moment. He turned on his intercom, and gave his orders to the deployment manager. 1 hour later, troops, armor, and supplies were being loaded into large C-14 Transport planes. 28 of the enormous planes took off from the Taledonian military airfield and flew towards the island of Avo. Within minits they were at the village of Knothole Glade. The cargo doors opened and all the troops jumped out, the supplies and armor were dropped with parachutes. All successfully landed in the city and began to set up.

Total Forces Within Knothole Glade:
15,609 troops
37 tanks
3 artillery batteries
25 mortars

General Sylvester thought to himself after hearing of the successful landing of reinforcements. "Damn, if only those bastard communist sons of bitches hadn't ceased our navy, causing us to destroy it. We could've sent more naval reinforcements to secure the waters." He thought to himself, "Looks like that job is up to our allies."

Knothole Glade

The planes were causing significant damage, but not enough. 7 Apache helicopters and 15 Huey helicopters flew over the village heading towards the enemy positions. They started to launch their missiles while their guns and gunners blazed at the enemy troops, litteraly tearing threw them. They continued to fly around in circles and different patterns to avoid tank fire but remain close to the targets.

It was time to show them who Taledonians are!

They had inflicted huge communist casualties but had also recieved deadly casualties for their situation. The waters around the village of Knothole Glade had been taken by the combined fleets, but probably wouldn't be held for long, unless more involvements from Taledonia's allies was taken. The airstrikes were starting to become less often as the planes were becoming low on fuel.

Over the Communist Carrier Fleet

"Ships Inbound. I'm tracking 2 Battleships and 3 Armored Cruisers. This ain't gonna be no walk in the park."

" Got that, Schutzhelm 3. Have Schutzhelm group break off and hit em from the side at 10,000 ft., while Baumhund group moves down to 8,000 ft. and deploy those torpedos. Do not maintain formation and keep as low as possible. Once were in their missle range, get those radar jammers going."

"Got that Schutzhelm 1."

Simeltaneously, the two groups borke off and swooped out from under the cloud cover. Under their glistening white wings were Exocet missiles, now armed and ready to destroy their targets.

At 2 miles, they engaged their radar jammers and turned on the after-burners. By now, the enemy fleet was well aware of the on-coming aircraft and decided to greet them with a salvo of Surface-to-Air missiles.

"Shit, Icoming Vampires. Repeat. We have some company up here."

Now the R-M01's of Schutzhelm group broke formation and scattered, as the enemy missiles streaked towards their aircraft at speeds above Mach 3. Fortunantley the jamming frequencies emmited from the R-M01s confused many of the missles, sending some into the blue depths of the ocean.

"Schutzhelm 4, you've got one tailing you. Evade now! Repeat. Evade Now!"

The plane desperatley maneuvered across the open sky, but the missile continued to track it. At 100 ft. away, the missiles warhead detonated, sending fragments of shrapnel into the veunerable R-M01. Within seconds, the plane was engulfed in flames.

Meanwhile, BaumHund group moved in from the west, catching the enmy slightly off-guard. As they prepared another batch of AA fire, the R-M01s streaked in at 1,000 ft., releasing their deadly cargo of Exocets and Mk.5 Torpedos. Seconds later, several massive explosions englufed the waters on which the enemy fleet lay. However, several missles stilll made it out of the immense smoke, destroying 2 more R-M01s.

Circling back around, Schutzhelm group deployed its own Exocets to finish off whaterever was left of the enemy fleet. More explosions ripped through the blue skys and deed was finally done.

"Alright, Whats the casualty report"

"3 planes lost, 2 damaged, sir."

"Lets hope their in better company now."

Engaging their afterburners, the remaining aircraft spead back to the Gladiator for debriefing.

Near the 2nd Island

As nightfall set its dark gaze across the war-torn village, a new chapter of battle begun as hundreds of landing craft streamed towards the cratered shore. These mechanical behemoths were parts of the Lachenburgian 2nd Expeditionary Force, a division that had time and time again had proved itself on the beaches of many different nations.

After years of fighting Lachenburg’s rival Saint Beutocielli in the war over Saarbruken, these men had experienced battle on many occasions and were now seasoned veterans of combat. This beach seemed just like the rest of them, one way or another they would get to the other side of the shore to wreak havoc on the enemy.

By now a sizeable force of almost 1000 LACU-233 Landing Craft waddled their way towards the fortified shore, there dark hulls blending in to the shifting seas below them. Within their great hold, stood a Platoon of 10 men ready to go forth and wage war against this socialist enemy. With rifles ready, the soldiers silently waited for the conflict to unfold.

BOOM—WOOSH---WOOSH

Hundreds of missiles lit up the dark, cloudy sky as the various ships of the Lachenburgian fleet unleashed their devastating cargo of ALX-01 Surface to Surface missiles. The enemy promptly returned fire and soon the dark night became a maelstrom of shells and missiles.

“500 Yards!!” the Sergeant shouted from above

BOOM!!

A Mortar shell glided into yet another landing craft, sending it falling to the depths below.

“200 Yards”

Each man readied his weapon and braced himself for the initial landing that was only moments away. The gunfire had now grown into a deafening roar, but the men stood steadfast for they knew that victory is within their grasp. Unfortunately, many would not live to see it.

THUMP

“GO, GO, GO!!!”

Instantly, each man rushed out onto the pebbly beach, men falling all around. By now, amphibious assault craft were on the shore, there 12.5mm machine guns blasting into enemy pill-boxes.

Suddenly, several AH-4 and AH-5 Gunships swept across the sky, sending hundreds of rockets, along with AMG-54 guided missiles into the broad cliff face that encapsulated most of the landing site.

“MEDIC!!”

BOOM-- BOOM!!

WOOOSH!!!----BOOM!

POP-POP-POP-POP!!!

Within minutes, the brave Kriegs-Marines stormed up the beaches with hundreds of support craft laying thousands of rounds into the enemy ahead. Tracers seemed to illuminate the entire beach as the battle progressed on.

Although the scene was immersed in utter chaos, the soldiers kept pushing forward, their commanders pushing them to the limits of endurance. As the 4th and 5th waves hit the beach, enemy resistance had crumbled, as many began to withdraw to positions inland. It seemed as if the first step of this merciless conflict had been gained. Yet many knew that more lives would be lost just to secure the rest.

The fleets of Achleonia had almost been wiped out. The rest of the fleet struggeled to the nearest, safe port under Achleonian rule.

A large fleet of fighters lowered from the skies with chinook's and bombers. There were about 20 fighters, 10 bombers and 30 chinooks that opened fire at the village, each on their own way. They had been lucky to get even this far on the skies, patrolled oftenly by the Taledonian air force.

The Commander general laughed. "They are getting up a strong fight! Send the Lachenburgians a message" he was enjoying a good battle every now and then. A number of almost 20,000 troops climbed into APC's and headed towards the beaches where the Lachenburgians had landed. Machine-gun nests opened fire on top of hills and forests against the nearing enemy. Artillery started turning towards them, taking them as a larger threath than the village, and opened fire. There was a confused and chaotic feelinmg in the Achleonian, crackling lines, the men held their position until the very end. Lachenburgians fell down dead, as the machine guns sang and tanks rolled towards them with APC's as fast as they could.

Over the village of Knothole Glade

The aircraft came in hard and fast, causing many casualties to the Taledonian forces. Fortunatly, the attacking craft did not get many rounds off as many missiles flew threw the air hitting their targets directly. As the enemy aircrafts were destroyed, 38 F-18 Hornets flew threw the air over the village and then headed back out to bomb the enemy and continue their patrols. Enemy artillery had seemed to stop and the enemy forces advancing on the village were either destroyed or moving towards the other beach were the Lachenburgians had landed on. The enemy did not see the Taledonians as a threat anymore, which was their fatal weakness. The remaining snipers, and patrolling aircraft, were able to locate all enemy artillery positions in range of the Taledonians or Lachenburgians. Right away, 58 Taledonian troops in full camo set out from the city, moving through the jungle very steathily. This was easy considering that Taledonian troops train in the jungles and know them practically by heart. They moved fast, and by sunrise, had arrived at the first artillery position. Not being seen by any of the many communist troops guarding or operating the artillery, they moved to flanking positions. Suddenly, gunfire opened up from all sides on the enemy soldiers. The bullets ripping through their targets. 2 Huey helicopters flew overhead and started firing their guns, but would not use their missiles unless needed. The gunners put round after round into the enemy troops.

The communists made a grave mistake, now the island would be retaken, and they would fall.

The hot sun shone down on the large capitol city of the island of Avo(second island.) The small military airfield that was stationed there and was now overrun by communists troops sat there unexpecting the events to come. THe communists had no doubt been using this airfield considering it was the largest one on the island.

"ETA 10 minutes." shouted Lt. Morris threw his radio. The 12 stealth bombers glided high above the clouds, ready to dive at any minute.

"Ready......DIVE!"

The bombers then dropped directly towards the ground. They pulled up and started heading towards the airfield. They entered the air over the airfield and dropped their payloads. Their targets were mainly enemy planes, cargo holds, hangers, and the radar tower. After dropping the bombs, the bombers headed back to the airfield in which they came.

Viewing the ensuing battle, Tank Commander Klaus Bergener decided to take action. He and his fellow comrades had unfortunately landed almost 200 meters away from their landing positions and were now on the very far right flank. However, this problem turned into a slight advantage had the enemies began their counter-attack.

“Alright guys, lets get em with their pants down!”

All of the 10 tanks soon maneuvered their T-3 Warrior and P-01 Main Battle Tanks into an arrowhead formation. Through sheer force, they would break through the enemy charge and cut off the overextended attackers. This would most likely give the Lachenburgian troops enough initiative to rally and defeat the enemy.

As he loaded a HEAT round into the massive gun-carriage, gunner Han Bjornneges began to fire upon the enemy.

“Target, 100 meters.”

“FIRE!”

BOOOM!

The round goes flying down range, utterly destroying an enemy APC. Within seconds, the other tanks began to open fire with various rounds, destroying even more armored vehicles.

BOOM!—BOOM!---BOOM!

More rounds continued to fly down range, puncturing the thin armor of the APCs, turning them into ovens that cooked those inside. The Kriegs-Marinen rallied them and began to start moving up the beach again, as more and more T-3, T-2 and Pz-1 Tanks reached the shore of this embattled town.

Meanwhile, Sgt. Erikson was in the heat of the battle, as he gaze orders for a series of air strikes to counter enemy artillery positions.

“Forward Base, Requesting Air strike, Coordinates: 662262 3982293 24FXE 62262 82292 SCORPION!”

“Got that Beagle, aircraft inbound. ETA 3 minutes.”

Overhead, AH-5 and AH-4 helicopters were picking off the incoming invaders with AIM-54 Guided missiles and 6-inch armor piercing rockets. Due to the fact that the beach was open ground, the APCs had no where to hide and were easy targets for the helicopters

WOOSH!!---BOOOOOOMMM!!!

R-M01s appeared over the horizon, their wings bristling with various Air to Surface missiles. Once their targets were sight, these missiles began to rain down upon the enemy positions with a Hellish-like fury, sparing no one from the onslaught.

BANG!---WOOSH! WOOSH WOOSH!

Several dozen missiles streaked in from the Lachenburgian ships stationed outside of the ensuing battle. The experienced technicians and gunners of these magnificent ships made sure that their shots were accurate and deadly.

In response to your recent support of the communist insergency, we highly suggest that you withdraw your advancing forces immedeatley for the following reasons. First of all, we intend on keeping this event rather isolated and another nation joining this fight will only increase the number of lives lost. Furthermore, wars are quite expensive and a your nations rather weak economic strength may cause it to collapse, which would be very harmful to the citizens of your government.

We hope that you abandon these rash claims of yours, so that this unfortunant conflict may finally come to an end.

The gunfire stopped as the last of the communist troops fell to the ground. The artillery position was secured. The 2 Hueys started to airlift the dead and wounded back to the main island while the troops set up positions around the area. They took control of the surviving artillery pieces, and, using the information they had from the recons, started firing on enemy forces still sieging the village of Knothole Glade.

Knothole Glade

With the Lachenburgian forces arriving in the city, the communist forces started to heavily attack the village. Considering the amount of reinforcements that had arrived, there was a chance of destroying this attacking force, then pushing further into the island, instead of being trapped like rats in the small village.

Lachenburgian Forces:

Village of Knothole Glade already secure but under heavy siege by communist forces. If a distraction can be given, most of our forces can break away from their current positions and dissapear into the jungles and encircle the communists. Our armored division is very weak with casualties but will remain to give you aid.

Do not fire on this artillery position, 338 295 666 912 009. It has been secured by Taledonian forces and is currently firing on enemy positions.

Stay clear of enemy positions, air strikes coming in, ETA 2 minutes.

After several more hours of heated firefights, the conflict died down as both sides re-organized and prepared for further maneuvers. As of the moment, the Lachenburgian High Command was pleased by porgress made by the fearless Kriegs-Marinen.

Shortly after recieving the allied transmission, Field Commanders began to the majority of the 2nd Expeditionary Force maneuver their forces to hit the communists now exposed left flank, while elements of the 2nd and 4th Kreigs-Gepanzert Division would maneuver around the enemies behind and cut off the only roads of escape.

If they pressed hard enough, the communists would be forced to withdraw or otherwise be encircled by allied forces in the surrounding area near Knothole Glade. Most commanders hoped for a breakthrough, for the enemy was most likely veunerable and over-extended after the last brash offensive. It would only be a matter of time before they broke ranks and ran.

Admiral Veritas of the SOPANACOM (SOuth PAcific NAval COMmander) office watched the seas in front of him being parted by the carrier battlegroup that he controlled. they were only about an hour out, with the commandeered Roll On/Roll Off transports carrying the Marines a hour behind him. He turned to the man in charge of the aircraft on his ship behind him. "Let's give those Taledonian fools something to think about." Three full squadrons of F/A-18 Hornets lifted off and screamed toward the Knothole Glade villiage. One squadron flew off to the side, supression-bombing the artillery posistion, while the other aircraft attacked the aircraft above that had been such an annoyance to the allied forces. After they had ebgaged them, they sent several bombs into the heart of the village, and while the relatively small bombs did little actual damage, the chang in the morale of the troops below was much greater. The communist forces saw their objective being neutralized, and the Taledonians saw the posistion that they were supposed to be defending attacked by planes that seemed invulnerable, until one of them plowed into the jungle, its operator parachuting down.
When only two of the hornets sent out failed to return, Admiral Veritas smiled. The Jangian involvement was just starting, and it was already off to a excellent start.

Lachenburgian Forces,

Offensive support on the center will be available. We will send all our troops there to attack. New nation has joined conflict and is aiding communist forces. They are arriving by sea and have already done a successful air raid against us. Re-direct all your naval vessels to their location and fire at will. Our vessels are in route along with our air force.

Taledonian High Command

The Jangians may have caused sufficient damage in their air raid, but they would soon pay for that. In route towards the Jangian fleet was 200 bombers, both steath and army. Accompanied by 258 F-18 Hornets as escorts. The planes were the majority of the Taledonian air force. The aircraft approached the Jangian fleet and took them by surprise. The seen quickly turned into another Pearl Harbor as the bombers dropped their payloads and the fighters launched missiles and fired their guns. 18 bombers and 23 fighters were destroyed before the Taledonian planes started to pull back to the airfields to re-fuel and re-arm. Substantial damage was done to the enemy ships, mainly carriers and battleships. The Taledonian pilots thought to themselves, "That should wipe the smirk off their faces."

OCC: Maybe if you had been a little bit more specific is as to where your APCs were at the time, my response would have been different. Furthermore, sending 20,000 troops in APCs at a well equiped enemy when you have no forward infantry or armored support will always spell disaster. Yes, you may have had some Artillery and Machine guns to back them up but those will not help very much against heavy armored forces.

Also, just because Taledonia had a smaller force than your doesnt mean that its impossible to destroy your opponent. If you have the right tactics, disipline and moral you can defeat most anything that comes your way.

Taledonia, please do not post enemy losses; thats for them to decide.

Anyways, back to whats important.

Lachenburgian Fleet

Commander Erik Iselmeer was quite joyful about the past days events. Not only had their forces managed to secure a rather large beachhead, but they were pushing inland with unprecidented speed, encountering mostly light resistance. It seemed as if the Communist morale was breaking down and victory was within grasp. However, as he stood out on the wind swept deck of the LCS Gladiator, a confident grin emerged on his gruff face.

Standing below in all its glory was one of the newest toys of the Lachenburgian Navy: The SZ-8 'Leapfrog'. This new plane was the envy of the world community, boasting some of the most advanced systems of any plane in the air. Seeing this great oppurtunity, the Lachenburgian Military purchased enough of these aircraft to re-fit the entire Air Corps of Lachenburg. Finally, the old R-B01s and R-M01s that had been the workhorses of this fighting force could be retired after 20 years of faithful service.

"Sir, reports confirm that Jangian forces have been spotted near the other side of the island. Our allies have already have engaged their fleet and may have incurred some casualties."

Promptly truning to face the smirking Leutinant to his left, the Commander saw a prime oppurtunity to use his new toys. After all, he was the commander of Lachenburgian air assets in this theater.

"Excellent. Deploy our new Sz-8s against the remainder of the enemy fleet. Send 2 E-767s and a detachment of R-M01s as support. Lets finish off these bastards."

"Aye Aye, Sir!"

Within moments, crews and technicians were scrambling to their planes and the first of almost 40 aircraft blew off the carrier deck with a most deafing scream. 20 minuites later, the Strike force was heading towards its target.

Blackwood Turnpike (Near Knotehole Glade)

Captian Rolf Unberhiems column sat in dead silence as the enemies casually rolled by. For the past several hours, the Lachenbrugian 2nd and 4th Gepanzert Divisions had maneuvered their way around the enemies left flank and were now nearing their objective: the Blackwood Turnpike.

This small bumpy road was the main artery for the Communist forces, transporting troops and supplies to the front lines near Knothole Glade. Without this vital roadway, the Communist forces would be almost completely cutt off from their supplies and would surely break ranks within a few days after it was captured.

Now all that layed in the path of these two converging Divisions was a large contingent of forces protecting the turnpike. The majority of these forces seemed to be reserves, equipped with lesser weaponary and were supported by only a dozen tanks that now cautiously traversed across the open ground near the turnpike. Once the remaining Lachenburgian forces were in place, they would most surely attack and most likely overrun the enemy that now casually stood below. However, the hard part would be to hold this road until the main attack was launched. After all, they would most likely try to take the turnpike back with a much more sizeable force.

"All right guys, hit em hard on my command."

Ericks gunner, Cpl. Han Frankfurt immeadeatley set his sites on one of the 12 tanks below, while jamming a high-velocity Kinetic energy round into the gun carrige of his T-3 MBT.

"5...4...3...2...1...FIRE!!"

BOOOOOOOOM-----BOOM----BOOOM---BOOM!!

Immeadeatley, hundreds of Lachenburgian troops and tanks opened up on the wary enemy. Since the enemy force was outnumbered at least 18 to 1, the outcome of this small battle was quite predictible. Within minuites, the few remaining reserved troops fleed their posts and made a chaotic dash towards their comrades postions 20 miles away.

Lachenburgian troops scurried down to the former positions and began to setup a 500 meter wide perimeter, while others began to dig in for the awaited assault. This was surely going to be no walk in the park.

In the air

Already Cpt. Franz Ubermann was enjoying his new Sz-8, as it maneuvered through the dense evening skies. Even with 2 Exocets and a couple of GBU-30s strapped within its sleek, stealthy figure it could still turn on a dime.

After flying for almost an hour, the enemy fleet had been sptted 25 miles to the west. After the Taledonian attack on their fleet, F/A-18s were up and ready to meet anything that confronted them.

The plan for attack was quite simple. The E-767s would vector the oncoming F/A-18s to the R-M01s which would pull the interceptors away from their fleet before confronting them with Phoniex 2 missiles and AARAMS. Meanwhile, the stealthy Sz-8s would drop down to 300 ft., well below radar range and deploy their Exocet missiles, along with Mk. 5 Torpedos to sink the unprotected fleet. The the Sz-8s would head back to the carrier, as the R-M01s hopefully finished off the remaining F/A-18s.

At 15 miles, the planes borke into their assigned groups and began to carry out their assignments. Swooping down to 300ft., the already stealthly Sz-8s were now nearly indetectable at such low altitudes. At 5 miles they locked on the remaining ships and unleashed their deadly cargo. A volley of 15 Exocet missiles, shortly followed by GBU-30s glided to their targets at speeds aboce Mach 3. Within seconds, several firey blast indicated that it was time for the Sz-8s to get the hell out of there.

Meanwhile, the R-M01s and F/A-18s engaged in a rather fearsome dog fight, with both sides unleashing dozens of missiles at each other. Since the two planes were an even match with each other, a stalemate ensued for the remainder of the fight. After 20 minuites of heated fighting, both sides limped back to their home fleets to mend their wounds and prepare for the next engagement.

Knothole Glade

"Sir, the Lachenburgians have taken the supply road, we now have the communists surrounded. Intellegence indicates that the communists will probable retaliate with a much larger force, and would probable break through the Lachenburgians." reported Sargeant Walker. "Then this is our time to strike and clear up this village. High time to, if these people ever want to live in a big town then they better start building. We've been on the defensive for too long, it's time for offense. Let's show 'em what we can do! Men! suit up, were goin' in!" replied Lt. Logan with a slight smile on his face.

Thanks to the Lachenburgians, communist sieging of the village had died down for they were more concerned with clearing up their escape route most likely. The Taledonian troops reloaded their weapons, grabbed their supplies and got ready to move further into the jungle, were they could to serious damage. The armor prepared themselves for the strike while still firing at the enemy forces.

Lt. Logan picked up his radio, "Lachenburgian forces, this is Lt. Logan of the Taledonian forces, do you read me? We thank you for taking that road and cutting the communist bastards off but we still need to destroy the bastards sitting between our two forces. I think we've let them crap their pants enough for one day don't you? So give us some support from behind, and well take the front...you got me?" He then replaced his radio with his M-16 and stood up from the log he was sitting on, "Get tactical you sissies! Were moving out now!" He and 3,000 other troops as well as 7 tanks started moving into the surrounding jungle, firing on any unlucky S.O.B who got in the line of sight of the Taledonians.

The newly elected Imperator stood on the balcony of the Imperial Palace looking over the Imperial Gardens. The gentle noise from the waterfall failed to sooth his mind, the mind that was filled with thoughts of the invasion on his country. General Maximus stood behind him in the Imperators office, staring at his leader with a stern face. "Our airstrike only did so much, the Jangians will continue to advance." "Have our allies done anything yet?" replied Imperator Augustus. "Yes, they are manuevering their fleet to intercept and have just completed their own air raid." "What of our fleet?" "It is currently in range of the Jangian fleet and is preparing to fire." "And what is the situation on Avo?" "The island is still mostly in communist control. Our troops in Knothole Glade have almost completely dispelled the siege and our allies have taken the supply road, cutting off the communist forces." Augustus turned from the balcony and stared at the general, "Have the communists replied to our envoy yet?" " No sir, they have completely ignored it." Augustus thought to himself for a minute, "Send another transmission, ask them what they want." "Are you going to surrender sir!?" "No, no. Just, ask them what they want, we may be able to negoatiate." "Yes, sir."

He flicked a couple switches, pressed a few buttons, then switched another small switch from peace to war. As is all operated from the same force, all 15 battleships, 12 destroyers, 16 frigates and 10 cruisers all opened fire simultaniously. The surviving Jangian ships were not in a good position, and would be in an even worse position when the Lachenburgian fleet arrived.

Pirate Coast

After several hours of maneuvering around the chisled coast of Taledonia, the Lachenburgian fleet was now within killing range of its Communist counter-parts. Morale was high and the various sailors onboard the LCS Gladiator were confident in aboslute victory. However, Admiral Richtover was not so sure that the outcome was so straightforward.

The Jagnian Fleet, although surrounded and severly comprimised, still held the waters around Greatwood Lagoon. This position ensured two things: 1. a Combined assualt from two sides would not be possible and 2. The Jagnian Fleet was cornered and had no where to escape.

Therefore, Ricthover had continued on the thought of what to do. Assaulting the enmy fleet head on would cause his own fleet to be placed into a bottleneck, making them extremely veunerable to enemy fire. But assaulting them from a distance would not desicivley defeat their fleet, leading to a prolonged naval battle with many casualties. But in the dead of night, while sipping on his third glass of whiskey, the old Admiral thought of a way to confront this problem.

The first stage of this operation would consist of sending several dozen Kommando forces in small assault craft into the enemy fleet that would place magnetic mines onto the hulls of the enemies Ageis and Heavy Missile Crusiers. Without these ships, the next stage of the assult would be made quite easy.

Since the allied forces now had definant air superiority, Lachenburgian carrier based planes, along with Taledonian air assets would be deployed against the fleet in considerable force. The air attack would consist of at least 100 planes, the majority of them being Taledonian bombers and Lachenburgian Sz-8s. 3 E-767s along with Taledonian Sentry aircraft would deployed above the main attacking force and would jam the enemy radars with a series of high frequency pulses. Then, the bombers could deploy any assortment of cruise missiles and air to surface missiles against the enemy fleet.

The remaining enemies would be destroyed by long range missiles launched by the missiles of the allied Missile Cruisers. Without any form of crusiers themselves, the remaining enemy fleet would be at the mercy of this barrage.

All he needed to do now, was to wait for the Taledonain response.

Greatwood, Taledonia

SSG Manfred Hisener was again awoken by the deafening sound of artillery shells sweeping over the horizon. Ever since the assault had started, thousands of artillery shells, along with guided missiles and bombs had flown over that same horizon into the enemy 3 miles away.

“Damnit, not again.”

Rubbing his eyes in a clockwise fashion, Manfred slowly climbed from his sleeping bag and opened up one of the many Mobile Ration pouches that were stacked in his tent. Pulling back the several plastic and foil wrappers, Manfred began to devour the materials inside. Just as he finished the pouch of Lucky Charms, his always cross Platoon Sergeant entered the small camouflaged tent and began his usual morning verbal abuse session.

“Get you lazy, piece of horseshit. Its already 0500!”

“Good Morning to you too, Sarge.” Manfred sarcastically replied, ignoring the fierce gaze that now looked down on him. “What the news this morning?”

“Looks like those Commies are actually starting to put up a fight. Were moving out to the front lines in 5 minutes; get your shit together and be ready.”

“No problem, Sir!”

After almost 6 days of retreat, the Communist forces had managed to re-organize their flank and began to put up resistance. However, they had lost almost half of the territory they conquered and were on the verge of being surrounded by the oncoming forces. Only one more decisive battle and the war would be over for the Communists.

After several minutes of gather his things, Manfred slowly walked towards first platoon ready for combat. Although he was tired of this whole fighting thing, Manfred was still enthusiastic about the coming battle. After all, this would be most likely the last battle of the war and he didn’t want to miss any of the action.

Assembling to the front of the group, Sergeant Belcher strode up to the front of his platoon and began to brief them in the usually boring manner.

“Alright men, as you may or may not know, our little commie friends have decided to stay put and start fightin and high command is still thirsting for a major victory so now are the time to kick it in to gear. Our platoon, along with the rest of the 406th Heavy Infantry company are to assume positions on the far left flank of Oakvale Creek and take out the 3 adjacent machine gun nests that have been set up across the area. Once those our taken out, 2nd and 3rd Platoons of the 102nd Light Infantry Company will join up with your forces and lead the attack on the Commie flank. If we can force them to break and flee, they’ll retreat right into the oncoming forces from the north. So no bull-shit, it is essential that we get this job done.”

A chorus of ‘Yes Sir!’s sounded throughout the ranks as each man began to march to their destinations. Many of those eager souls would not make it until sundown.

Oakvale Creek (Several minutes later)

By now the machine gun posts were well within view and the entire force had hunkered down behind the miss-match rocks and hills that dotted the heavily forested landscape. By now, adrenaline was running high and each solider impatiently waited for the signal to be given.

Laying in-between two large stones, Manfred leveled the sights of his K-001 Assault Rifle on the Machine gun nest nearest him. Being one of the better marksmen of the group, Manfred was confident that his shots would successfully neutralize the enemy.

“5…4…3….2…1…FIRE!”

Manfred and the rest of the group squeezed the triggers of their weapons, discharging hundreds of rounds towards the waiting enemy. Battle cries sounded and before Manfred realized what he was doing, he was already charging for the enemy position along with his fellow mates.

POP-POP-POP-POP-POP!!

BOOM---BOOM!

POP-POP-POP!

WOOSH!

“KEEP GOING”

WOOSH----BOOM!

“MEDIC! AHHHHH!!”

BOOM!

The whole forest seemed to light up around Manfred, as he bravely charged across the open ground with hundreds of bullets whizzing by his head. After a few moments of sprinting, Manfred leaped into the enemy trench and began to kill anything in his path.

“BANG BANG BANG BANG!”

Eyeing 2 oncoming communists, he leveled his rifle and double-tapped the trigger twice. Both soldiers went down, with blood spraying out of the bullet wounds in their bodies. Manfred further maneuvered through the trench cutting down multiple enemies as he went. By now, the entire attacking force had overrun the enemy positions and most fighting had degraded into merciless hand-to-hand combat. Men were soon beating each other to death with their own helmets and shovels as the battle progressed.

Loading another magazine into his rifle, Manfred took no time in discharging the rounds that it contained, as more enemies came upon him. This was certainly no ordinary battle and even the enormous adrenaline now pumping through his veins could not keep him from feeling a slight bit terrified.

After several minutes of heated combat the battle for Oakvale Creek was over. Hundreds of corpses now covered the once peaceful expanse and the sounds of war replaced the peaceful sounds of nature. Wasting no time, the remaining Lachenburgians rushed to their objective. By the time they had reached it, the main battle had reached its climax and both sides engaged each other with increasing ferocity.

Cautiously gazing around at the enemy line, Manfred saw an opening in the far left flank. If they could exploit that weakness, they could win this battle once and for all. However, 2nd and 3rd Platoons had not arrived yet and launching another charge would be very risky. But Manfred knew he had to take that chance, for the entire battle hinged upon it. Summoning all the courage within his soul, Manfred rushed to the head of the group, took one of the fallen Lachenburgian Flags and began to rushed down towards the enemy line. In a bloodlust-type fury, the remaining soldiers joined them in his cause and let out a terrifying roar that stopped the enemy in its tracks.

“ARRRGHHGHGHGH!”

BOOOM!—BOOM!

“FOR VICTORY!”

Lachenburgian soldiers all around were amazed by this brave feat and soon joined their comrades in their charge. Unable to contain the immense force now upon them, the Communists began to panic and abandon their posts in fear. Within minutes, the majority of the Communist force had been reduced to stragglers and the battle had been one. Unfortunately, Manfred never saw this great victory. As he charged down that deep slope, half a dozen bullets riddled his body, instantly killing him. However, the flag he held steadfast in the ground, its tattered cloth blowing in the gentle breeze. Now, the embattled soldiers of Lachenburg began to see the beautiful rays of victory shine upon them.

Hearing of the Lachenburgian victory at Oakvale, the people of Taledonia went into a frenzy. Confety flew from the skies and soldiers and civilians alike threw up their arms and cheered at the victory of the allies. Outside the Imperial Palace, the people of Taledon cheered their Imperator and the senate.

The battered Taledonian forces that were with the Lachenburgians at Oakvale celebrated also. They thanked their comrades and congradulated them. The best of Taledonian wine was brought out along with the finest and rarest fruits. Fires were lit and the celebrations lasted well into the night.

The senate along with Imperator Augustus awaited their Lachenburgian guests at the Palace. All the officers were invited to dine with them while all the soldiers of Lachenburg and Taledonia(except those on guard duty in other cities) would dine in the great hall of the palace.

The dirty and battle worn officers of Lachenburg strode up to the hall of the palace, their spirits high and their faces gleeming with smirks and smiles. After all, this combined force of soliders had defeated one of the largest invasion forces in history and the Lachenburgians had not seen alcohol in weeks.

Decending upon the cheering, the Kreigs-Marinen greeted each other their fellow allies with a hand shake or pat on the back. The entire room was englufed in rapture, as the soliders began to feast upon the wide varieties of food layed out on rows and rows of large tables draped in white cloth.

Majestically standing above hall of these wary fighters were the flags of Lachenburg and Taledonia now gracefully fluttering in the air, there colors melding together. A new partnership had arisen out of the cinders of hate and it would now begin to prosper in this still turbulent, war-torn world.

The Lachenburgian soldiers sat at the many tables laiden with almost every food imaginable. The freshest Taledonian wine was served and almost every soldier had his own waiter to wait on him or her.

In the personal dinning room of the Imperator, the senate and Imperator Augustus awaited the officers. When the officers arrived, they all shook hands and greeted each other warmly. They then proceeded to sit down to the large dark oak table that was draped in a very smooth white silk table cloth. Various rare flowers and trees decorated the entire room, and it being open, the room looked like an ancient roman sanctuary. The now setting sun shone its beatiful light on the people below as a beatiful young woman played the harp in the back of the room. The men began to feast on an even more spectacular meal than that served to the common troops. The men chatted lively and listened to the mellow and relaxing melody of the harp and the nearby fountain sitting in the garden attached to the room. After the feast was over, Imperator Augustus clapped his hands and the large marble doors opened. In walked the most beatiful women you ever saw, all dressed like persian princesses and all holding gifts of gold and silver and bronze. Augustus wanted to award and please his honoured guests in everyway possible.

Finally, it was time for business. Augustus looked over to the highest ranking Lachenburgian officer and ask, "Are you at liberty to discuss matters of state?"

Being rather supicious towards politicans, Kreigs-Marinen Lieutenant-General Klaus Forjdheim was really not knee on matters of state. After 23 years of working with contractors, politicans and other individuals of the like, Klaus despised the workings of state and intended upon dodging the Taledonain leaders question so that he could enjoy the finer things in life with his fellow soliders.

As he finished yet another pork rib, his cold blue eyes glanced up at the Taledonains, taking in the relativley annoying question. In a raspy and rather dubious vioce, he shot back the typical answer of most men in uniform:

"I apologize Sir, but I am not at the liberty to discuss matters of state with induviduals at this time. All formal dealings will have to be organized and deliberated upon by yourself and Vice-Admrial Richtover, who will be arriving shortly. Now if you don't mind me, I think I'll go take a swig of that chardonnay over there."

Lifting his muscular frame from the small wooden seat, Klaus immersed himself into the jubilant crowd of soliders and citizens that now filled the grand halls. Breathing a sigh of relief, the General was now off the hook and free to enjoy the more secular delights of the celebration.
