[Earth II] Germania annexes East Belarus

North Germania
18-01-2005, 21:45
At 5:49 AM this morning, after having established an inpenetrable line of defense along the Western border, the Reichswehr made its final push into East Belarus.

The attack consisted of the following ground arrangements, which entered the country by surprise, and then split in to two groups:

80 M1A3 MBTs
70 Panther IXs
110 Panzer XII LBTs
80 Leflasys Air Defense Systems
25 NG-19 AMEVs
75 Predator Tank Destroyers
80 M3A2 Bradley IFVs
120 Fuchs 2 IFVs
250 Dingo APCs
60 King Leopard-II MBTs
45 NG-MPRS GPS-Guided Missile Vehicles
35,000 Reichswehr Guards
20,000 Schultzpolizei Guards
700 ESPK Ops

The capital city of Minsk, having been heavily damaged by air attacks from Layarteb and North Germania, had been left in Belarus's hands until this day.

The city was seized with little resistance, and the troops pushed on.

As they entered the open lands of East Belarus, over 100 B-52s armed with GPS-guided Kormorans destroyed the last remaining ground forces and air defense elements of the former Army of Belarus.

Small pockets of resistance are still being battled with, but it is expected that the Eastern portion of the country should capitulate within another 32 hours.

ooc: Cotland still have a few brigades in Belarus after the last time we fought there..

ic: Outside the temporary base 'Bravo Alpha 1', the Cottish brigades in Belarus (106th Infantry and 10th Armoured) were being prepared for another thrust against the Belarussans, should North Germania require them to participate.

Major May: What is going on here? Get this damn tank moving!!

The crew of tank 10A-518 jumped from their poker game. They hadn't heard the Major come, and thus were not prepared (ie: packed away the cards, beer and cash, turned off the music, and gotten the tank looking military).

Major May: You are going to take up barrier positions here - the major pointed to a position on the western flank - and repell any Belarussan that tries to break thru! Got it?

The men nodded and quickly squared away their stuff before manning their positions inside the tank and driving off along with the rest of the brigade.

"With the aggression committed by the armed forces and governments of both North Germania and Cotland, defensive positions along the border of Poland and Western Belarus will be reinforced by Aequatian Federal Armed Forces. I have called upon the deployment of ten additional infantry and armoured divisions to aid in the fortification along the border."

North Germania expresses its deep appreciation of Cotland's continued support in our campaign against Belarus.

We expect that mild insurgent attacks may appear in Minsk, though so many weapons have been captured by Germanian forces (over $38 billion in pistols, assault rifles, and RPGs) that any rebellion would be weak at best.

However, if you wish to further assist, a small deployment of the main spearhead was left in Minsk (some 850 soldiers and 25 IFVs) is currently searching every home for weapons. If you wish, you may assist them in their search for any weapons that may potentially be used against Germanian and allied soldiers.

We thank you again.

The Reichschancellor expressed his concern with the build-up of Aequatian forces along the border of Belarus and Poland. He has issued the following response to the government of Aequatio:

"No actions of aggression have been aimed towards your nation. We feel threatened by this armament. Thus, in response, we are sending the 1st Panzerwehr Korps to defend our borders as well against any potential attack.

No offensive actions will be taken against Aequatian troops, unless the Reichswehr is first engaged.

The Cottish 106th Infantry Brigade, or the 'Tigerslayers' like they were called, entered Minsk city under the cover of darkness, and were in position to start operations at 0430 local time. The first Cots to meet up with the Germanian soldiers left in the city were the 3rd Company, 1st Battalion. The 3rd Company, comprising 190 men armed to the teeth with XM-8A1 6.8mm rifles, 8 M-113s and 4 M2A3 Bradleys, met the Germanians right before daybreak.

Captain Row: Captain Terry Row, Company commander 3rd in the 1st, 106th brigade. Who are you guys?

The company had made contact with the Germanians.

Hotel Planeta, Minsk

Meanwhile, the command company set up headquarters in the Hotel Planeta.

This was where they would establish the Cottish HQ for the rest of the Belarus operation. A safety barrier was being established 150 meters away from the hotel in all directions. this included the length of Masherov Avenue, the busiest street in Minsk. Heavily armed checkpoints were being constructed as well. All this in the midst of the night.

Once the militarization of the Planeta hotel was finished, General Casper took resedency in the hotel along with his staff. It was time to start clearing Minsk.

"We in North Germania commend your actions of no further troop build-up. We agree it would only escalate the situation.

However, we must warn you that tiny Belarussan insurgent groups - usually 10 to 15 men max - are scattered throughout the country. Though your response was wise not to increase tension already present in the area, I would not advise you to have your men stand down, either.

The Captain, surprised of seeing a general, snapped a smart salute to the General.

Captain Row: Pleased to meet you too General. We're under orders to assist you in securing the city. We've established HQ in the Planeta Hotel and a 150 meter buffer zone around the hotel, and secured the immediate area surrounding the buffer zone. We are under orders to bring all insurgents found to the hotel for tort... eh, interregation. If you need any assistance, please let us know.

While the captain was speeking with the Germanian general, Sergeant Wilkes and his squad entered a building 20 meters away from the officers. Moving swiftly from room to room, floor by floor, they quickly came to the top floor. Suddenly, all hell broke loose. Two Cottish soldiers were down in the first volley, while the rest of the Cots took cover. Sergeant Wilkes ordered flash-bangs, and a storm immediately after the flashbangs detonated. A fierce firefight ensued, killing another Cottish soldier and seven insurgents. Three were still alive, and were immediately hand-cuffed and blindfolded, and led out to the officers.

Sgt. Wilkes: Sir, Gates, Moore and Smith are dead. Seven d*ckheads dead. These three survived. What shall we do with'em sir?

The Captain just looked at the Sergeant. Obviously, they were going to have a little 'accident' during the interregation...

Western Belarus; 2:34 AM...

A group of eight Belarussan insurgents was headed towards the Polish border, unknown to all of them the recent build-up of Aequatian forces in Poland, and Germanian forces in Belarus. They were advancing steadily through a thin patch of woods when they stumbled upon the decayed body of a Reichswehr Scout, who had unfortunately died early in the fighting.

Almaz Kyebsky, the leader of this small group began searching the body for any money or food, when he found a few things much better -- a pair of thermal imagery goggles, a G-36 assault rifle with night vision equipment, three fragmentation grenades, five spare clips of ammo, a Glock-23 pistol, a pack of cigarettes, a flask full of Germanian vodka, a picture of what appeared to be the dead soldier's family, and two spare uniforms.

Translated from Belarussan...

Kyebsky: "This stuff sells for high price on the black market, and it's all high quality! I'm putting on his uniform. Any of you guys want the other two?"

A light snow had began to fall, and two of the insurgents mentioned they were cold, and put on the grey uniforms. They picked up the weaponry and equipment they had found and marched on.

After two or three more miles, they all stopped. They heard voices in the near distance speaking in German. The insurgents ducked to the ground, and Kyebsky put on the thermal imagery goggles. He saw over twenty soldiers he could count and two Fuchs 2 IFVs with Germanian markings.

Translated from Belarussan...

Kyebsky: "Bastards are still patrolling the borders! We'll wait until they move, then we sprint to the Polish border. The map says we're only a half mile away."

They waited for another ten minutes before the border patrol moved to a different location. The insurgents sprinted forward as fast as they could. The group skid to a halt when they heard more voices in the near distance.

Kyebsky slapped on the thermal imagery goggles and spotted five soldiers. The glare of a cigarette lit up his view.

Translated from Belarussan...

Kyebsky: (Whispering) "What the hell are Germanians doing in Poland? Get the mortar! I've had enough."

Two insurgents set up a 120mm mortar while Kyebsky, an ex-Belarussan Army private, sighted the distance and location of the soldiers. Little did he know, they were not Germanian at all, but Aequatian troops.

Translated from Belarussan...

Kyebsky: "Fire!"

An insurgent dropped a mortar into the tube, and it flung into the air.

A few seconds later, Kyebsky saw the bright flash of the mortar, and heard the huge bang of the explosion.

Translated from Belarussan...

Kyebsky: "Bruchyak, Kriov: come with me. We've got even more equipment now!"

The two insurgents followed him. They were the two wearing the Germanian uniforms.

As the rebels rifled through the dead bodies, they heard people approaching from in front of them. Just as the three lifted their G-36 assault rifles they had found on other dead Germanian soldiers in the forest, and began to fire, they were gunned down by Aequatian Border Patrol guards.

The remaining insurgents in the woods picked up the mortar and scattered...

General Weber appeared, and was, quite calm. He had led assaults on four of the larger cities in Belarus and was used to this sort of situation.

He pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a flask of whiskey. He lit a cigarette and then held them towards Captain Row, as an offer for one of North Germania's best cigarettes. He sipped his flask of whiskey.

General Weber: "Well. I am sorry about your men, Sergeant Wilkes and Captain Row."

He handed the Sergeant a device that looked like a small cattle prod.

General Weber: "2,000 volts. Excellent for receiving information from these 'no-talk insurgents'. Believe me, mein Herr, it works. Just don't touch the tip of it. It's sharp."

He pocketed the whiskey flask, and then calmly backhanded one of the insurgents with a black leather glove on his hand.

General Weber: "Fickser. It's a bit cold tonight, isn't it? Maybe these three should sleep outside."

He calmly adjusted his cap, and buttoned up his long jacket...

Polish Border Station, near Brest, N.G. West Belarus

Aequatian soldiers sat inside the guardhouse with a fire going, they drew straws to see who was the unlucky bugger to be out at the gate in the snow in case anything came along. Parker stood in the few inches of snow that buried his feet, his rifle hung from the switch to raise and lower the gate as he reached into his jacket and tooks out a cigarette and lighter.

Just as he was about to light the cigarette he noticed a white pickup truck coming down the road, Parker put away his things and snatched up his rifle from the switch and was getting ready for another interaction with another group of rowdy Belarussian teenagers coming over to pick up cheap booze.

However, the truck had no intention of stopping and plowed through the gate. Parker had just jumped out of the way into a ditch but was back on his feet in half a second, he brought the sight to his eye and fired off a few bursts from his A-36 rifle. The firing brought the remaining section of soldiers from the guardhouse and the truck off the road into the ditch on the other side of the road.

The soldiers hurried down the road past the wrecked gate and approached the overturned vehicle, of the five occupants of the truck, only two had survived. The two that had been in the back of the vehicle were laying in the snow amongst the trees after being thrown from the truck as it crashed. The driver was also dead, he had been impaled by the shaft of the steering wheel and his blood stained the floor of the old truck. The badly injured survivors were pulled from the cab and dragged back to the guardhouse, Sergeant Stoltz had them placed in the jailcell they had there and called into headquarters to report on the situation.

The Border Patrol Squad looked through the bodies of the soldiers they had encountered on their perimeter, Corporal Shaw looked over the bodies and recognized the uniforms.

"These guys are scouts, North Germanian Reichswehr..."

A few of the privates had been going through the bodies for identification and pulled a set of papers from a pocket on the uniform. He handed it to Shaw and the corporal looked over them.

"Looks like a private for the 1st Panzerwehr Korps, a unit that's being deployed along the border for defensive purposes..."

"What a crock of bullshit!" Yelled one of the privates as he began smashing the face of one of the bodies with his foot until the skull had been broken and had stained the snow and his fatigues with blood.

"Burn the bodies, then we'll get back to Company HQ and report in with what we've found," explained Corporal Shaw as the troops placed the bodies together and set them aflame with an incendiary grenade before heading out back to their field command post.

The situation in Kaliningrad was fragile. Reports put a possible full-blown offensive by the insurgency in the capital. Layartebian forces were spread out across the country, a third in Primorsk, a third in Kaliningrad, and a third in Chernyakhovsk. If these rumors were true, forces would be needed more in Kaliningrad than in Belarus. The insurgency had pretty much been stamped out all across the country except in a few minor areas, ones that were too hard to find due to their tiny size. Therein, an offensive on Kaliningrad would be the most effective way of the insurgency to make their final stand against Layartebian forces.

Inside the main JOC room in the House of the Layartebians in Kaliningrad, a secret meeting was being held. A video conference was also in session with the Emperor and his Cabinet. "Sir, Emperor. We're getting good intel on this offensive." One of the commanders said.

"Very well. What are we looking at here? A few hundred, a few thousand, a few hundred thousand?"

"Well sir. Best guess is between ten and eighteen thousand sir."

"TEN AND EIGHTEEN THOUSAND!!!" The General of the Army erupted. "That's absurd! You mean to tell me there are that many more insurgents in that country! What are you guys doing over there? You've lost four thousand men and for what!"

"General if I may." The man who spoke up was the commander in charge of the operation, a Lieutenant Colonel who had served back in the days of the Smolny Civil War. "Sir. This insurgency includes children, teenagers, women, men, elders, everyone. We doubt there are foreign fighters here despite the original rumors of Aequatio having special forces. We cannot prove that sir. But when we give that number that is roughly a guess. If it were everyone capable of fighting that number would be between two hundred and four hundred thousand sir. If they make an offensive with eighteen thousand we're going to be fighting for weeks sir. No matter how good we are, they know this city far better than we ever will."

"Fair enough Lieutenant Colonel. What should we make of Belarus?"

"Sir. The best bet is this. Seal off the borders. We can stop refugees and fighters escaping. We'll detain insurgents and send them back to North Germania. Let them deal with them, we've got enough of a problem here to worry about. I know you and the Reichschancellor are staunch friends but we advise strongly against intervention in this conflict until this situation is settled. Imagine if we committed even a third of our forces here to this. That means we're down to sixty-six percent efficiency. We will NOT hold this country with that force."

"Understood. I'll make my statement to him shortly. Anything else?"

"One thing sir."

"What's that?"

"We need more fuel sir."

"Consider it sent."

"Very well. Anything else?"

"No sir."

"Very well. Meeting adjorned." The video conference was cut and the Cabinet remained for a full hour, discussing the situation. At the end, it was up to the Emperor to make the final call, a most difficult call to make. He drafted a communique immediately to the Reichschancellor. "Reichschancellor, good friend. The situation in Belarus is unfortunate. We wish for you to do well in this conflict and would provide assistance but this, being a first, is a most horrific time for us. The situation in Kaliningrad is critical and fragile. By committing forces to this conflict we would essentially reduce our effectiveness to fight insurgents by one third. At such a point we would not be able to retain our holding, which would create an even larger problem for you. We will, however, tighten up the border and detain all insurgents for later extradition. Refugees will be stopped and nobody will go in or out of Kaliningrad, you can be assured of that. Any other things you may need for an indirect nature do not hesitate to ask. We will make this up to you in a future date!"

The Emperor sighed and sent the communique. Now what...

"Emperor, my dear friend, I thank you for your best of help. I understand fully your situation in Kaliningrad and it is most unfortunate. I have recently been told that Belarussan insurgents have stumbled upon dead scouts from the 9th Panzerwehr Korps that lead the spearhead into Belarus. The problem is that they have worn the dead Reichswehr Guards' uniforms, and an even bigger problem is that 3 of them wearing uniforms were killed by Aequatian guards along the Bularus/Poland border.

However, if any Kaliningrad insurgents or citizens attempt to enter any North Germanian territory, they will either be shot or arrested and sent to the proper Layartebian authorities.

Corporal Shaw and his team had returned to the warmth of their forward command post provided by the old farmhouse's wood-burning fireplace, at a table sat Captain Schneider, reading over maps and reports brought in over the radio from other squads in the field patrolling the border. Shaw walked over to the table and saluted the captain, he just barely looked up and returning the salute and asked the young soldier, "Isn't your squad in a little early, corporal?"

He nodded in response and tossed the identification papers on top of Schneider's maps, "I thought you would want to see what we picked off a few stiffs we created at the border, Sir."

The officer picked up the papers and read over them, he then looked at Shaw and then turned to his radio operator, "Sergeant, get me Colonel Douglas at Battalion HQ, I've got some news he'll want to hear."

"Yes Sir," replied the sergeant as he worked the radio channels for Battalion headquarters.

Schneider turned back to Corporal Shaw, "If this means what I think it does, it means we'll have to prepare nine divisions to move within the next twenty-four hours and our reserves in seventy-two!"

Captain Row accepted the cigarettes from the Germanian general. Taking a long puff, he handed it to sergeant Wilkes, who had accepted the cattle prod from the general.

Wilkes: Sam, Roger, get those terrorists into the Bradley. Take them to the hotel and give them to the MILIND guys.

Wilkes was refering to the MILitary INtelligence Department, the Cottish Armed Forces' intelligence. They were responsible for the extraction of information from anyone foolish enough to oppose the Cottish military. Their existance were officially not acknowledged by the Cottish government, but rumors of what they did to prisoners were being leaked out to the public, spreading terror in the enemy. Just the mention of MILIND made the three insurgents shudder and cry out in fear.

Just then, another squad leader, Corporal Blake, came over and saluted the officers. His uniform was smeared with blood, but the corporal looked all right.

Blake: Sir, the block has been cleared. No insurgents survived. Got some new orders sir?

Captain Row: Corporal, are you hurt?

Corporal Blake: No sir. Enemy blood sir. It was real CQB in there.

The mission and plan had been realized by Großfeldmarshal Kahn - the most aggressive, ambitious, and brilliant commander active in the European Theater. He had been studying battle strategies since age ten and could speak eight languages by the time he was twenty-seven. He began studying piano at the age of six and received highest notes from the best university in North Germania. He was, by all definitions, a military and musical prodigy.

----------------------------------------------

The plan was to insert a small number of ESPK Black Ops along the Polish/Belarussan border. It was only known to the ESPK Black Ops who would conduct the attack and Kahn himself.

Once there, they were to locate a small, isolated band of Aequatian Border Guards, kill them, and dress their dead bodies in Germanian Reichswehr uniforms. The ESPK Black Ops would then dress in the Aequatian uniforms and a picture would be taken of them standing over the Aequatian soldiers dressed in Reichswehr uniforms.

When this had been completed, an announcement to the world would be made that the supposedly peaceful Aequatian Border Guards had actually been strategically killing small groups of Germanian Soldiers to avoid an all-out assault on the 1st Panzerwehr Korps defending the Belarussan border.

----------------------------------------------

It was dubbed "Operation: Winter Deception"

Polish/Belarussan border; 3:14 AM...

The team of four ESPK Black Op snipers had been surveying the most isolated portions of the Polish/Belarussan border for hours, before they finally found their best target -- a group of twelve Aequatian Border Patrol Guards - completely isolated, with no other patrol groups, helicopters, or vehicles for miles - idly smoking cigarettes and sipping a liquor of some sort.

The ESPK snipers were perfectly camoulflaged -- wearing snow-white sniper uniforms and set up prone.

Translated from German...

ESPK Scharfschütze Niemann: "Targets in sight. Three shots each, simultaneously. Allow them no time to radio for help. Suppressors ON, gentlemen. On my signal, fire."

They waited another minute and a half...

ESPK Scharfschütze Niemann: "Feuer!!!"

The snipers fired their silenced, standard Aequatian sniper rifles within the same second, and the twelve Aequatian Border Patrol Guards, some standing and some sitting, fell to the ground.

The ESPK Black Ops moved soundlessly in the darkness towards the dead bodies. All had a single bullet hole to their heads.

Translated from German...

ESPK Scharfschütze Niemann: "Exchange uniforms now! Hustle!"

The Ops did as they were told, and removed the spare Reichswehr Uniforms and dressed the dead Aequatian Soldiers in them. A picture was then taken by Niemann of three "Aequatian" Border Guards armed with sniper rifles standing over the dead bodies of twelve Reichswehr Border Guards.

One Op lifted up the head of a dead Aequatian soldier by the neck and held a pistol to his forehead.

He then fired a few shots into the dead soldier's leg, to give the appearance that the Reichswehr Guard had surrendered because of his injuries. The bullet holes in his leg were shown in two photographs.

Another picture was taken of the "Aequatian" Border Patrol Guard shooting the injured Germanian soldier in the forehead.

Translated from German...

ESPK Scharfschütze Niemann: "We're done here. Let's get out. Pick up the shells and move them 125 yards into Polish soil."

He radioed, and an all-black NH-90 transport helicopter landed and waited two miles inside the Belarussan border.

The ESPK Black Ops reached the helicopter, lifted off the ground, and returned to their base in Brest where Großfeldmarshal Kahn was waiting - sitting on a piano bench with a beautiful, elegant, and graceful-looking blonde-headed Belarussan girl leaning against his back, whom appeared to be almost in a trance. With a filterless Germanian cigarette in his mouth, a glass of whiskey and its bottle, and a Walther P-38 pistol from circa 1940s resting on his piano, he was playing Chopin's "Nocturne No. 20 in C Minor". The faint scent of Opium filled the huge, dimly-lit, elegant room, with over twenty candles lit and Kahn's German Shepard soundly sleeping on the Wolf-fur rug that covered almost the entire floor. A small fire was burning in a fireplace positioned to Kahn's back.

The room gave off an appearance of both perfectly-blended comfort and sophistication.

Niemann sharply saluted Kahn and gently set the camera on top of the piano. Kahn paused his playing for a moment, looked at the camera and then Niemann, and gave a slight smile and returned to playing.

Soon, the plan would become final, and the news would be announced to the world...

RE: East Belarus border security

I congratulate you on your recent military success in Belarus and the unification of that country. May I ask if you require any need for extra border patrol on the East Belarus-Ukraine side, as we are prepared to send military units to help stop the exit of anyone attempting to leave East Belarus illegally. The way you wish these traitors to be treated, however, would be at your discretion.

Captain Schneider and Corporal Shaw were sitting over the map of the surrounding area when a report came in, "Sir, first platoon says that they've lost contact with one of their squads... they've been trying for the past forty-five minutes to get anything over the radio."

Schneider took only a moment's pause before turning to Shaw and his men, "This may be the beginning of a very bloody turn of events and I don't want to be held responsible because of fuzzy intel... find that squad and make sure that they are really dead and that it's not just a broken radio set."

"Don't worry, Sir, we'll find them," replied the corporal as he took the last known position of the missing squad from the radio operator and then turned to the captain and saluted as he went outside to his squad.

"What's the call, Peter?" Asked one of the soldiers, grabbing more ammunition from a crate inside the carport of the house.

"We have to head out into those woods, hunt down a squad that's missing," replied Shaw as he put his field gloves and tucked his map and papers away into a front pocket on his coat.

"You mean find the bodies so they can go home before us, right?" Laughed another soldier slinging his rifle over his shoulder and smoking a cigarette.

"You'll go with them if you keep that up, smart ass," snapped Shaw, "We don't know if they're dead or not, it's our job to make sure... now let's go."

And with that, the squad started out into the forest.

"We in North Germania greatly appreciate your continued support with our efforts. It would be quite helpful if any Belarussans attempt to leave the country illegally that you capture them and return them to the nearest checkpoint. From there, they will be made examples of. If they resist, do whatever means you deem necessary. They are not Germanians.

On a more pressing note, it seems that tensions between Germanian-occupied Belarus and Aequatian Poland are increasing. Photographs of "peaceful" Aequatian Border Guards standing over the bodies of twelve dead Reichswehr Border Patrol Soldiers have recently been shown to me. Insurgents who have found Reichswehr uniforms on dead soldiers long lost in the forests of Belarus have been killed by Aequatian Border Patrol units. It is increasingly becoming closer to hostilities between Aequatio and North Germania.

I will attach the said photos to you in this message, and I would like for you and/or some of the military advisors of Andrehervia to give your opinion(s).

Thank you for the reply. Although we haven't got the exact logistics worked out yet, expect between 7,000 - 10,000 Federal Army troops, 500-600 tanks, a similar number of APC's and around 200 attack and transport helicopters.

As a former Colonel myself, whilst it appears to be the actions of a rogue few, we cannot discount the possibility that this maybe official policy. Give those pen-pushers at Aequatio a thorough grilling on the matter and intensify troop levels on the Polish border as needs be. If they refuse to try and stop these attacks happening, well, a few bombing runs using stealth aircraft wouldn't be widely condemned...

As the Cots arrived at the 8th District, the soldiers rushed out from the vehicles and formed a tight line in front of them, right next to the Germanian Schutzpolitzei Guards. The Belarusan police officers that were left alive ran to safety behind the soldiers. The Cottish vehicles aimed their guns at the rioters, and Lt. Wallace started to speak.

translated from Belarusan..

Lt. Wallace: Stop what you are doing immediately! Hold your hands above your heads, or else we will shoot! This is your final warning!
The rioters didn't seem to care about the soldiers. Some spitted on the soldiers, only to be rewarded with a strike to their heads.

Lt. Wallace (to soldier on 12.7mm MG on the HMMWV): Fire a burst over their heads. - to the soldiers - If they don't stop then, we'll move in. Club them down, but try not to kill them.

The soldier on the MG fired of a 5-round burst right over the heads of the rioters, shocking them.

Lt. Wallace (in Belarusan again): Stop now! You will have no further warnings! You have 10 seconds!

Following our offer of help in securing the Ukraine-Belarus border to prevent the escape of ex-East Belarus citizens, army deserters and other related traitors, the following units are to be deployed to the border:

5,000 Federal Army troops
6,000 Federal Army engineers
5,500 Federal Army supply personnel
120 M113A3 APC's
80 M12 IFV's
200 M2A3 IFV's
120 Condor APC's
70 Sibmas APC's
100 Tenix S600 APC's
90 Challenger 2B's
75 Leopard 2A5B's
120 AH27-T's

This contingent is expected to take 1 - 2 weeks to fully deploy. As the Cottish soldiers fired their 12.7mm machine guns above the crowd, Kapitän Schwertzer was standing on a Fuchs 2 IFV behind the wall of Schultzpolizei.

He hopped down and walked over to Lieutenant Wallace and handed him a gas mask. He had been studying the Cottish language since age 4, and could speak it perfectly and had no accent.

Kapitän Schwertzer: [i]"I am Captain Gerhardt Schwertzer. I am commanding these forces. May I have your name please? General Weber told me to be expecting you. Oh, you might want to put on that gas mask."

A hail of rocks and glass bottles crashed against the 4" thick plexi-glass shields the Schultzpolizei were holding. Schwertzer put on his gas mask.

Translated from German...

Kapitän Schwertzer: "Damnit. Fire the tear gas! Begin the arrests!"

A Schultzpolizei Guard picked up a 40mm grenade launcher from inside one of the Fuchs 2 IFVs, loaded a tear gas grenade, and fired it at the crowd.

As the smoke began to spread, the riot began to calm. Those still throwing rubbish at the soldiers were shot by the Schultzpolizei with rubber bullets.

As the crowd began to disperse, twelve of the riotters were arrested and put in the back of the Fuchs 2 IFVs...

Kapitän Schwertzer: "Well. I believe that sums things up. I know an excellent café nearby where all the Germanian officers dine. I'm a bit hungry. Care to join me?"

--------------------------------------------

Großfeldmarshal Kahn's military office...

Translated from German...

Kahn: "Release a message to the head of the Aequatian Border Patrol that due to the attacks on Germanian soldiers, we will mobilize a small force roughly twenty-five kilometers from the Belarussan/Polish border.

Make sure to note that they will NOT make any assault actions against the Aequatian Forces along the Border unless a major attack is commenced by them against North Germania.

Speaking of the 'major attack', Commander Kepler, how is that progressing?"

High Commander Kepler: "Herr Kahn, our Design Department has completed the Aequatian Captain's uniform - complete with decorations - just as you ordered. Along with this, they have completed fifteen standard Aequatian Tank Operators' uniforms.

As well, the 9th Brest Tank Production Factory has completed two of the same popular tank models used by Aequatio.

From War Prison 12, we have removed fifteen insurgents to wear the Aequatian uniforms.

We have set up a mock Germanian Guardpost where the two 'Aequatian' tanks will destroy the post, three Dingo APCs, and kill twenty-two Germanian guards"

Kahn: "Excellent, Kepler. You will be the commander of this team. If everything is successful, I will recommend your promotion to Captain."

Kepler: "Jawohl! Thank you, Herr Kahn!"

Kepler saluted and left the room.

--------------------------------------------

Belarussan/Polish border; 10 hours later...

A camera was positioned on the Guardpost and was waiting for the mock attack to begin. The voices of Germanian guards talking could be heard, and three Dingo APCs were sitting idly in the camera's view.

Suddenly, the two "Aequatian" tanks and fifteen "Aequatian" soldiers stormed forward. The soldiers began firing their assault rifles, and the cries of several Reichswehr Guards could be heard. The "Aequatian" soldiers ducked behind the tanks.

The Guardpost began firing back with machine guns and assault rifles. However, the fire lasted only a few seconds when one tank fired a shell, struck the Guardpost and sent flames into the air.

The camera was knocked on its side. A few seconds later, the two tanks destroyed the three Dingo APCs.

The camera saw several soldiers walk up to the Guardpost and mutter something before one saw the camera. A radio with a Germanian soldier speaking into it could be heard briefly, before a few shots could be heard and the screen went fuzzy.

The camera's filming had been wired back to a real Guardpost several hundred yards back and was recorded onto a CD. Kahn's final plans were beginning to take shape. Once sufficient enough "evidence" that Aequatian Forces were attacking Reichswehr Border Patrols, a notice to the world would be made that North Germania was under direct, hostile assault from Aequatio...

Immediately after the press release, convoy after convoy headed towards the East Belarus-Ukraine Border and Operation: Final Line had begun. Miles of barbed wire, landmines, guard towers and fences had been assembled in the course of a weekend. Ten miles from the border, a Command Centre had been assembled to hold prisoners and organise the border defences. Outside, anohter armoured convoy of 10 Challenger 2B's, 50 Condor APC's and a number of trucks filled with supplies and personnel pulled up outside the four storey building waiting to be given the direction as to where to set up camp. A lone Federal Army Condor APC immediately drove up to the front doors of the Command Centre and a lone military figure jumped out of the vehicle, along with ten heavily armed Special Forced personnel. He walked up to one of the guards.

Colonel Fittes: Good afternoon, gentlemen. I'm here to see General Bowden, I have an appointment.

The door to Bowden's office swung open as the large Colonel strode into the room. General Bowden slowly rose straight from leaning over the map table and gave a salute and a firm handshake to his comrade.

General Bowden: Colonel Fittes, good afternoon. I trust your journey was pleasant.

The Colonel smiled.

Colonel Fittes: Slightly tough. It's hilarious how quick a bunch of jumped up hippies disperse when a quick blast of machine gun fire pass over their heads.

General Bowden chuckled heartily to the joke and brought him forward to the map table. One hour later everyone had left, with the exception of Bowden and Fittes. Fittes was lounging on one of the room's office chairs and Bowden was double checking over the maps, ink marks and correction fluid decorating it.

Colonel Fittes: So, Aequatio. What do you think?

General Bowden: Some kind of armed conflict is inevitable. Somehow, I expect us to be part of the fighting. Witzenberg clearly wants a foothold in Europe and taking a slice of pie would only be beneficial to us here.

Fittes chuckled at this, rose from his chair and approached the map table.

Colonel Fittes: You see this as your moment of glory?

Bowden smiled.

General Bowden: More than, Fittes, more than.

Fittes laughed and left the room to organise more work on the border defences.

250 ESPK Special Ops
25 Predator anti-tank/anti-air/anti-infantry armoured vehicles (I've got specs)
15 M1A3 MBTs
25 Panther IX LBTs (Specs on those too)
20 Marder IFVs
25 Fuchs 2 IFVs
45 Dingo APCs
15 King Leopard II MBTs (Specs)
10 King Leopard III Heavy Tanks (Specs)
15 MLRS Vehicles
15 PzH-II 220mm Mobile Artillery Guns (Specs)
20 PzH-I 165mm Mobile Artillery Guns (Specs)
65 Assorted APCs

Note: The Panzerwehr Korps used in border defenses are designed for defensive purposes, as a fast counterstrike force in case an invasion is launched, thus the large amount of vehicles designed to deter an attack, and the small amount of vehicles used to push back any assault.

In an offensive Panzerwehr Korps, the amount of tanks, infantry, and IFVs is higher. As well as a long list of differences.

OOC note: While a lot of the attack divisions have the same name, a lot of them serve different purposes. There are well over 100 Korps total, including Gewehr Korps (primarily infantry), Panzerwehr Korps (primarily tanks and armoured vehicles with infantry support), Stadt Korps (primarily dealing with urban combat situations), etc.

The reason I sent so many to the border was because I was expecting an attack. They're still there too until you, Andrehervia, proves to us you have no hostile intentions. Even then, we're still skeptical.

Field reports by units have said the opposite, the only units to go missing was a recon squad with the 19th Division and their bodies were found just hours before, all units have been preparing for defence and have not made any moves within West Belarus.

"But we can't deny it, since it would only make us look guilty... those bastards have got us stuck in the position where we must act," thought Blake as he continued to look through the reports, "Wait, fire... for fire..."

------------------------------

Press Room, Aequatian Forces European Command, Berlin, Germany

The General along with an entourage of intelligence officers stood before the press that had been mustered for the press release. Maps and reports were set up by the officers as Blake spoke into the microphone, "Ladies and gentlemen, we feel as though you have been fooled by the great propaganda machine that is the North Germanian Press and Armed Forces, as you can see on the maps behind me and in the reports handed out to you, Aequatian forces deployed along the Polish/Belarussian border have only been in positions of defence and have been preparing fortifications should Germanian aggression push out of unhappy Belarus and into the Aequatian protectorate of Poland.

Reports of our own helicopters making attacks on Germanian positions are utterly false as you can see on the maps that said areas are well outside of the operational range of where our PAH-2A Tiger gunship helicopters. As well, while the tanks that have been reported of causing attacks are Aequatian-built Gladiator model tanks, they are in actuality export versions of the Mark III which ceased production once the Mark IV was released and introduced to the armed forces.

We feel that the international press and community are under the impression that we are the aggressor when it is clear that North Germania is only playing us all for fools and attempting to draw our forces into a conflict which would cost the lives of both nation's citizens and cost upwards of millions of dollars to both nations in terms of resources and labour. As proof that we do not wish to create more problems, I have ordered a number of our infantry and armoured divisions to rear areas of the deployment zone in hopes that it will quell furthur trouble from erupting between Aequatian Poland and North Germanian Belarus. "Reparations required by the North Germanian government from Aequatio have not been made. Though troops have been pulled a bit further back from the border with Belarus, this does not change the fact that the Reichswehr Imperial Guards defending our sovereign borders are clear of danger.

The threat still exists, and it was the Aequatian government which first sent troops along the Polish/Belarussian border. We are viewing these actions as more and more hostile. Pulling the Aequatian troops away from our border could merely be a trick -- snipers and special op soldiers can still be present and still cause immense damage if they wish.

Thus, North Germania is dedicating an additional three Panzerwehr Korps along the Polish/Belarussian border. Fighters and bombers will be patroling the skies, but will not cross into Polish lands.

We will not backdown until our demands are met. We are now calling on the support of the Roman Confederacy in support of Germania, due to the hostile and aggressive actions made by Aequatio against Germania.

As always is the case in any democratic country the media was in a frenzy hurling torrents of questions at the public relations minister of the Commonwealth of the Wick. The young man who held this position attempted to answer them as thoroughly and efficiently as possible however such a thing was impossible.

The media had good reason to be in such a state of excitement the nation of North Germania had forcefully annexed the peaceful and independent nation of Byelarus. Such a thing was horrible enough but they didn’t stop there, the Commonwealth’s citizen have seen the reports of the Aequatian Forces supposed aggressive action towards North Germania.

“Will the Protector comment upon these allegations!” A voice yelled out above the others, clear not expecting the leader of the nation to do so and the minister continued to rattle on for a few moments. Then the room went silent for only a moment of silence as a clear soprano voice sang out beautifully.

“Yes she will Gerard.” The young Lord-Protector of the Commonwealth Nika Tumanova answered the surprised reporters questions, it was not often the Protector did so. There were a few reasons for this but mainly the Protector herself was still a young woman of only seventeen years of age. Her title was heredity and she was granted its position shortly after her father’s death five years prior, her regent effectively rule as she came of age, considered sixteen she had been exercising her rights and responsibilities of office for a year now, however had done so from a distance until this day.

She stood in front of the podium as her minister bowed his respect and withdrew to her side. She was a small but lithe woman standing barely 5’4’’ and weighing just over a hundred pounds. Her body’s noble beauty was accented by her dress’ formfitting yet flowing material. No one would doubt her elegance and beauty she had after all received many marriage propose from various nobles form across the continent, but her eyes held a maturity beyond her years she was smart and tactful, and she perhaps even fearful of what her reign would bring in these troublesome times.

The media was again impetuous as ever restarted the torrent of questioning. She raised her left had wrapped in a tight leather glove up to her forearm. Such was the respect her position was given that all the senseless bickering ending in only a few seconds.

“Please I have a Statement to issue, my minister will of course answer whatever questions you may have afterwards.” Now that she had their fullest attention she continued. “Everyone is of course aware of the troubles now occurring along the borders of North Germania and Aequatio. I have been in conference with their national leaders and by our own intelligence services. It is our belief that the current accusations of Aequatio aggression are baseless and without sufficient factual evidence. We believe it merely to be some sick ploy by the Germania government to implicate the so far fully defensive Aequatio nation of aggression to justify their further expansion into their neighboring states.” Some of the reporters gasped at this other saw it coming, and what it foreshadowed.

She continued her voice lower and icier,

“This course of action enacted by Reichschancellor Einheit is despicably low and barbaric. The withdrawal of Aequatian forces from that troubled border is proof of their virtue and the continued accusations of the Germanians are proof of theirs. This are troubled times in which we live, but we can not remain silent while our neighbor’s good name is sullied and used as a pretense for an unjustified invasion. I plead with the world’s leaders to see through the shield of lies they speak and see things for how they are. Thank you for your time.” The protector stated gracefully as she withdrew from the room which soon fell into chaos yet again.

President Blüme stood before the room filled much past capacity with reporters, cameramen and government officials. He stood at the podium, a large flag draped behind him as always and leaned forward into the plethora of microphones that sat on the edge of the podium.

"It saddens me to see that a nation which could have had such good-mannered relations with our great country is continually trying to push us to war simply so they can furthur their corrupt agenda and their control within the European continent. The continued claims that Aequtian Federal Forces have launched assaults on North Germanian forces garrisoned within Belarus are offensive enough, but to demand reparations for such things is insulting beyond description.

As for the deployment of forces along the border, we have kept to our promise not to furthur escalate the situation by not only ceasing our deployment of additional troops and armour within the area of operations, but have pulled back forces which would be vital to the defense of the Polish people in the event of invasion by the increased reinforcement of North Germanian forces along the Belarussian border with Poland.

Once again, I have called for a stand down of even more Aequatian divisions along the border, however, I have ordered that the border zones between Hrodna down along the Belarussian border through to Brest be monitored by Aequatian surveillance satellites. Thank you and good night.

Bialystok Airport, Bialystok, Poland

Bialystok Airport had not seen so much traffic in recent times as the entire 3rd Airborne Division prepared to board a fleet of C-17 Globemaster and C-5 Galaxy transport aircraft bound for their home base in Warsaw, soldiers with their entire kit and weapons stood alongside civilian ground crews as they fueled the aircraft as officers organized their troops as to what aircraft they would be boarding.

Chatter could be heard by the soldiers as they awaited their time to board, many wished to stay, should North Germania invade. They felt as though they were leaving the remaining divisions shorthanded, almost as though they were abandoning their post. However, many felt it was the best thing since many would prefer to not have to fight.

------------------------------

19th Combat Engineer Regiment Headquarters, Biala Podlaska, Poland

Nearly all of the regiment's battalions were deployed with the infantry regiments along the border positions after preparing what defences they could for the soldiers and vehicles that remained along the line. Miles of razorwire along with thousands of anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, tank traps and explosives planted on important bridges and railway links. Counter mobility tactics would be what helped the troops in the field should the invasion come, as they simply didn't not have the numbers to repel the enemy in a standup fight, especially if the weather proved bad for the Air Force helicopter gunships and close air support aircraft.

Minsk, Belarus...

The Reichschancellor, knowing the impending war between Aequatio and North Germania, has staged a rally in the capital city of Belarus.

Hundreds of thousands of Germanian citizens, soldiers, military personnel, and Belarussan citizens have attended.

A huge stage with a podium had been built for the speech to be made by Einheit's top four military advisors, and himself.

Behind the podium hung the flag of every corps of the military, and the national flag of North Germania.

In the audience stood dozens of columns of Imperial Reichswehr Guards and Schultzpolizei Guards, each column consisting of five-hundred soldiers total.

As Großfeldmarshal First Class Goettel took the podium, a roar of cheering and applause erupted from the spectators. The only ones quiet were the Germanian soldiers -- their faces motionless and stone-like. They shouldered the rifles of the era of the Germanic Unification of 1902.

The crowd hushed, and Goettel spoke into the fourteen microphones on the podium in front of him...

Translated from German...

Großfeldmarshal First Class Goettel: "You are the people of Germania! You are Germania! Will you allow our foes to continually kill our brave and noble soldiers who merely defend our homeland? Will you let the tyranny of these nations destroy our honour and culture?

Will you fight!"

The crowd roared with fanatical enthusiasm.

Goettel continued...

Großfeldmarshal First Class Goettel: "Our great and sovereign nation, led by the glorious Reichschancellor Wilhelm Kübler Einheit is being threatened by the scum of outlanders!

Our people have fought and bled for what we now hold and possess as our own! Belarus is in danger!

Rise up for your country and stave off these tyrants!"

Two tanks positioned next to the stage fired off blanks into the air, and the crowd erupted into a passionate fury.

The other three higher-ranking Großfeldmarshals took the podium and gave similar speeches, which only added to the fervent support of the people.

Reichschancellor Einheit then approached the podium, and the crowd switched into a state of absolute frenzied worship.

Translated from German...

Reichschancellor Einheit, III: "My people, the time has come! We must defend ourselves! The Reich must not die this day!

You are the greatest people on this Earth! -- none more valiant, none more supportive, none more brave, none more brilliant! Do not allow yourselves to be ruined by our enemies!"

He stepped down from the stage with a microphone attached to his military uniform. Einheit walked to a soldier in the first column.

Reichschancellor Einheit, III: "Glorious soldier of Germania, what is your name and from where do you hail?"

Reichswehr Guard: "Reichschancellor, my name is Heydrich! Ich komme aus Salzburg!" - I am from Salzburg.

Einheit shook his hand, and saluted him.

He moved to the next column and proceeded to do the same with many other soldiers.

Einheit then returned to the podium and spoke.

Translated from German...

Reichschancellor Einheit, III: "You have no fear, for our enemies are cowards! They use treachery and deceit to convince the World that WE are the tyrants and the evil of Mankind!

I tell you tonight, this is not so! We will rise up against this threat and be victorious!

Sieg!!!

Sieg!!!

Sieg!!!"

The audience yelled back to him, "Sieg!!!", almost as if a national mantra.

Ten MiL-2s swept over the audience, and the crowd began cheering as never before.

The people would fight without surrender...

The Reichschancellor then boarded a plane headed for Brest, where he would give a similar rally. Germania was now awake...

President Michael Feldinchii had been sitting in his office, recieving scads of news reports and intellegence from operatives in Belarus and Latvia and more reports of a impending war between Pyschotika's ally North Germania and Aequatio, he has decided to take action. Among many things he was going to do, perhaps the first one was to deploy Pyschotikan Special Forces divisions into Belarus in aid of North Germania, and to increase boarder patrol. The Spcial Forces would fly to Minsk, but not untill North Germania would give the approval. The less important was to find out for sure what The Baltic Karelia was going to do with this new buildup in force. ( Read the one topic when he is building up his Forces for defence apparently ) Other secret and still important plans were thrown together incase of certain subjects entering this war. The 2 Divisions of Pyschotikan Special Forces ( Each division have 2,500 Men in Each ) will act upon being fired upon, or when ordered to move or assault. And the men will stay under strict control of Pyschotika, and if needed, some Squads will be lent out for special operations if asked for. These men are ready and trained for Winter Warfare. The equipment of these such troops will be posted once the time is right.

Greetings, again, from Pyschotika. It has been to long that our communications have been at a pause. I am sorry that I had not acted earlier with this situation. Special forces will be flown to Minsk as soon as you give the okay. If anything is needed to be known then ask. Well to answer any future questions, we will be sending 2 Divisions of Special Forces. In total, 5,000. Both consisting of 2,500. Note that this isn't the most we will be sending, but we need to conserve untill certain problems have been fixed with some good questions and answers, and the rest to be sent to aid you are being put through briefing and what not. And about our ally Nerotika, they have undergo a complete isolation for now. ( OOC: Waiting to get a new comp for him ). Once they have reopened, I am more then sure they will be providing many for our side.

From: The Torian Dominion

Although we are a little hazy on the events prior to this message, we have seen some hostility towards our friends and allies the North Germanians. While we know few details, the North Germanians have warned us that certain nations might be poised to attack them in retaliation for some past action. NG has informed us that they annexed Belarus, which, as we understand it, was in a state of total chaos prior to their annexation. We ae also told, and upon investigation have seen, that Aequatio mobilized troops in response to this legitimate act of keeping order and peace. We realize that what we have been told is nowhere near enough to enact any active response on our part. However, they remain our friends and allies, and our decision is thus:

-No military personnel from nations shall set foot on North Germanian soil unless approved of by the NG government. No North Germanian citizens or soldiers will be harmed by foreign forces. Any breach of this will result in the offender learning the full meaning of the word "obliteration."

-No threats shall be made against the NGs without VERY good provocation. We do not take kindly to threats made against allies, and shall begin making threats of our own. We do NOT make idle threats.

-If we learn of more troops being mobilized for an attack on NG, we shall be mobilizing our troops as well. The only difference is, we have a pool of about 70 million troops to choose from.

This is as much as we are willing to do at present. We shall finalize our position once we see more concrete evidence of wrongdoing. While we remain staunch allies of North Germania, we will take this time to caution them not to take part in anything that would force us to take action. However, we will optimistically assume that they are not the guilty party in this affair.

Thank you for your time. We of the Torian High Government hope that this matter will be resolved without bloodshed.

If, however, our warnings are not heeded, there will be bloodshed, and it will not be us that does the bleeding.

The soldiers of the 54th Infantry Brigade were the first Cottish troops to go to Belarus. standing in lines waiting to board the C-141s and C-130s that were going to fly them. The heavy equipment would be transported by C-5B Galaxys and Navy cargo ships.

Many of the soldiers hadn't been in the military for more then six months, four of which were spent in basic training. Still, they were some of the best soldiers Cotland had.

The first tanks were prepared on the beaches by the maintenance crews, covered with camo-nets and branches native to both Belarus, Lithuania and Poland, and sent off to the rally point 10 kilometers further south as soon as they were finished.

Also, we are completely closing down the Finnish Gulf for more defensive reasons and may be setting up plans to take strict control of the waters between Finland and The Wick heald lands neighboring Belarus to increase Defensive measures. But remember, we will only procede to Wickish waters if neccesary. Also, we request information about available landing spots for our men. Thats all for now.

OOC: Good God, Layarteb. That's scary. Alright then.

IC:

The patrols along the Germanian Lithuanian/Wickish Latvian border had been in a tense state. They were expecting a surprise attack from The WIck at any time.

In their minds, they saw The WIck and Aequatio directly associating with eachother militarily, and were prepared for a strike at any time.

The Reichswehr Imperial Border Guards were given amphetamines to stay awake when they were assigned night duty.

Tanks regularly rumbled all along the border.

A line of 215mm artillery guns had been set up facing the Latvian border, and several 750mm artillery cannons.

-------------------------------------------

Polish/Belarussan border...

The new Germanian ultra-stealth air superiority fighter, the FKF-2, had made its entry.

Over twenty-five were patrolling the border, along with several dozen upgraded versions of the F/B-22 Stealth Fighter.

Thirty-five of Germania's new ultra-stealth missile planes/bombers, the GFB-1, were on standby at the recently established Lüftwaffe base, Brestreich Airport, in case any attack was made on North Germania.

The border forces were still there, and still patrolling actively.

-------------------------------------------

Reichschancellor Wilhelm Einheit, III released a second warning today, this time to Aequatio and The WIck. It was made public to the international community through a televised broadcast.

Einheit spoke in German, but had an English translator...

"The nation of Aequatio, in order to avoid a defensive military action against them, must pay due reparations to the sovereign government of North Germania and remove all forces from the border.

Footage and photography blatantly and painfully obviously showing Aequatian forces attacking Imperial Germanian Border Guards and Guardposts have been shown to the international community and Aequatio.

As the nation of The WIck is concerned: I have received the broadcast made by their "superiors", in which they resort to name-calling my and all of Germania's name, as well as laughingly brown-nosing the nation of Aequatio.

The WIck has made implications that they desire a military strike against North Germania, while we simply defend ourselves.

I ask the international community tonight: how are we the aggressors, when our neighbors call us names on international broadcasts, kill our soldiers, spit upon our land, and disrespect our name?

They make themselves out to be helpless and defenseless, as though we will roll through their respective nations in one day.

I ask the international community again: North Germania has made its military operations open to you all. We do not hide our actions. These nations, Aequatio and The WIck, who call us the wrongdoers act as if they have no military whatsoever! Can you trust this?

They lay low until we must strike to defend the morals, sovereignty, and people of this nation!

However, that strike will not come yet. It will not occur until we are forced to make such a drastic action.

Good evening."

Upon the political leaders and Generals of Pyschotika reading this, they had decided to move there ships closer to The WIck incase of any attack The WIck decides to pull off on North Germania, or any of its allies. The Civilians of Pyschotika were put on a Full Alert of any suspicious behavior of any other Civilian, and those visiting other countries to report to the Pyschotikan Embassy immediatly. A request by the Pyschotikan government has been released to The WIck and Aequatio concerning any Pyschotikan Civilians vacationing in there lands. The request is as follows:

To The Governments of The WIck and Aequatio
From The Government of Pyschotika

We wish for any of our Civilians vacationing in your lands to be allowed to come back to Pyschotikan territory. We request that your Police forces and or any other kind of Military person to leave our Civilians alone. Not to even lay one finger on a single Pyschotikan. We request a Pyschotikan Airliner to be allowed to come into each nation to fly the Civilians home. We request that you not enter the Airliners unsupervised. Searches on the Airliners by your own men will be allowed. We also wish for you to keep the quickest route to the Airports the Airliners land in. This is so our Civilians are released from your countrys AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. The only situation in which your Police or Militant Personell may speak with Pyschotikans is if one is to ask you for help with perhaps directions or helping with packing up belongings. We just want this to be as easy as possible. We will do the same for any of your Civilians who may be vacationing in Pyschotikan lands. If these requests are not followed, we will be forced to act upon you with acts of possible militant force to defend our Pyschotikans and for our country. So, we hope you follow these requests PROMPTLY and all will be well.

The Presidential Manor, Magna Casa, Aequatio

President Blüme was behind his desk, a sullen look upon his face as he sat in front of the camera and began to speak,

"It has come to my attention that our protectorates of both Poland and even Germany have become threatened by the forces of North Germania and the nation's allies, while we have attempted to try and reach a peaceful solution to the growing trouble, it seems as though the good Wilhelm Einheit III only wants to jump to war as he continues to reinforce and prepare an obvious invasion force to attack both over the Polish border from Belarus and North into The WIck's territories of Lativa and Estonia while Aequatian Federal Armed Forces have only been standing down and being re-positioned to their former, peacetime garrison zones.

Aequatians have a rich military history, however, we do not wish to fight an unnecessary war because of Imperialist bullies like the good Reichschancellor. Yet, if the need should arise, we hope that those brave souls defending the freedom of our citizens and those of Poland and Germany can ward off the onrush of North Germania and her allies while the great Republic girds her armour on and takes up her spear and shield.

It is with a heavy heart that I say this, but yet I feel it necessary to protect those this nation cares most about... at 8:45 this evening, I called upon the activation of the Pendleton II Missile Brigades in Germany and Western Poland to be ready for launch within 30 minutes of the order given straight from my mouth. In closing, I send these words out to North Germania and its allies poised to strike my people...

Beware the fury of an aroused democracy."
North Germania

"The sovereign nation and government of North Germania harshly warns against the use of nuclear weaponry against Germania or its allies.

While we are unclear as to what exactly the Pendleton II Missile Brigades are, we warn you that the use of any nuclear weapons against the nation of North Germania will undoubtedly result in a full retaliatory strike from The Roman Confederacy, The October Alliance, and all of North Germania's allies.

We promise to both Aequatio and the International Community that a nuclear response will not be issued, even if Germania is first striked.

However, due to this vague threat of missiles, a fleet of NG-CGB-119 Long-Range GPS-Guided Missile Ships based in Denmark has been activated, and are prepared to strike.

As well, the new ultra-stealth bombers in Brest have been activated and are prepared for a counterstrike against Aequatio should ANY further aggression be taken towards North Germania or its allies.

Beware the fury of an awakened Reich, its military, and its people.

Best wishes to Herr Blüme,
- Reichschancellor Wilhelm Kübler Einheit, III"

From Government of Pyschotika

No this is not a responce to you're latest broadcast, just concerning what we have sent you before. You havn't answered our request yet. We need our Civilians who are currently visiting your Nation to return home. We need confirmation on a airport we can land in that will have a majority of our Civilians at. We have checked Custsoms and we currently have approximatly 873 Pyschotikans currently visiting in Poland and 543 Pyschotikans currently visiting Germany around the Berlin and Munich areas. We request that our own commercial Airliners be allowed into select airports nearest the majority of Pyschotikans in Poland, and 2 other Airliners to land in both Berlin and Munich. We still request that your Police forces keep a safe quick route open for Pyschotikan Civilians to get to the airports that are selected. We wish for you not to harm our Civilians in any way possible and that you let them aboard our Airliners without hassle. We will allow your security to search our Airliners if you must. We will be having all of the passengers to be checked aboard to make sure they are Pyschotikan civilians. If a false Pyschotikan is placed on any of the airliners for ANY reason, there will be consequences. Also, when you are inspecting the airliners, you will be inspected before going aboard and watched with heavy supervision by the airliners' Guards. There will be Two Special Forces provided per Airliner to make our own defences on the airliners. In simple terms, let our Civilians pass easily to the airports that our Airliners land at, let them on with no hassle, and they will be gone. Thats all, can anything be simpler then that. You will see for yourself what the consequences are if you do anything rash to our Airliners or Civilians. Good evening.

The Pyschotikan Airliners were fueled up, and sitting in a Helsinki airport awaiting coordinates on where to land. The 6 SF Troops were briefed and as said by the President him self, 2 were loaded per train. Live Video Feeding Cameras that fed to TVs in the Customly Built rooms for the normal guards, but this time for the SF Troops. They even fed back to Helsinki where the President him self would watch them. Every measure was taken to make sure everything on the plane was noted, from the smallest scratch to the tinniest little speck of dust. These planes might as well would have been transporting the President and his Guards internationally. The President sat patiently, waiting for a response from Aequation Government. The news of Aequatian threaths of nuclear attack has arrived in Cotlandstad, and let the following be said: If any type of Weapons of Mass Destruction is released on Cottish troops, citizens or soil, we will retaliate with enough force to make Aequatio one big parkinglot.

I am hereby ordering the strategic wings to load the bombers with nuclear devices, place the strategic missile regiments on highest alert and go to Defensive Condition Yellow. Do not attempt to attack us, unless you wish to bring forward the death of your own people.

The missiles and bombers will not be released unless you provoke us. Let this be a fair warning: When they are released, they cannot be stopped. Now, it is up to you to decide the faith of your nation. Good luck to you sir.

"Send a message to Ken Karlsson (The Secretary of Defense) that he must return to St. Petersburg as fast as possible" said the president, General Andersson. (Karlsson is in Cotlandstad, see: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=394082 )

"We have received new reports about the war. It may escalate to a nuclear war. I hope that all parts involved know that we don't have nukes, and because of that spares us. But you can never tell… We must prepare!" General Andersson walked into the war planning room. He missed Karlsson as he wanted to discuss this issue with him. Now he had to take the decisions on his own.

"Okay, here's what we have to do now. Get the Arrow Interceptor up and running, prepare the THEL-systems in Murmansk and in St. Petersburg. And just in case, you better check how many mobile firing ramps we have available for the new Shahab-4 missile. That's our best strategically weapon, but I doubt we'll ever use it." said the president.

"How about the Gulf of Finland?" asked one of the lieutenants.

"We have one amphibious battle group and one rotary wing battle group there. You're right, we must increase our defense in the Gulf. Prepare another rotary wing battle group, and send out a surface battle group too. But they should stay inside our territorial waters! That's really important!" ordered Andersson. He continued "And while we're at it, increase the patrolling in the White Sea, make sure no one can enter the Baltic Canal without our knowledge!"

OOC:

The Arrow system is an anti-ballistic-missile system. Targets can be in the stratosphere (altitude 17-50 km). Speed: 2.500 meters/sec – mach 9. All facts: http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/missile_systems/surface_missiles/arrow/Arrow.html

THEL stands for Tactical High Energy Laser. With a power of 100 kilowatts it can blast enemy rockets from roughly 5 miles away. Tracking with radar. All facts: http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/missile_systems/systems/THEL.html

The Shahab-4 missile is a medium range (max 2.896 km) ballistic missile. We don't have nuclear weapons, so the warhead is a conventional one with a weight between 290 and 1.000 kg depending on the distance it will travel.

Hawdawg reply to the Aequatio threat

We recently viewed the broadcast where a vain threat of nuclear attack was issued. While this might seem like an option for your nation we feel we must point out that at least 4 nations have turned there nuclear arsenal towards your country and can wipe you off the map in about 52 seconds. Unless you like orange hair and glowing houses we suggest you put that pandora back in the box. We have alerted Hawdawg Strategic Air Command and programmed the launch coordinates into the standby computers for our ICBM's. Each of your cities with a population of 200,000 or more has a multi-projectile ICBM with its name on it. DO NOT use anything but conventional weapontry in this engagement or suffer the consequences. I don't want to have make that call but I will. I leave the rest in your hands.

The Empire of Layarteb is officially at REDCON 2.

REDCON 5: Normal peacetime readiness
REDCON 4: Normal, increased intelligence and strengthened security measures
REDCON 3: Increase in force readiness above normal readiness
REDCON 2: Further Increase in force readiness, but less than maximum readiness
REDCON 1: Maximum force readiness.

Any missile launch by Aequatio against military or civilian targets of a non-conventional nature will be a first strike, nuclear option, therefore inviting a full retaliatory response from The Empire of Layarteb. Nuclear weapons are unnecessary for this conflict from all sides but if they are used then they must be used in return. Let us not venture down the slippery slope on this one.

Your citizens are more than welcome to leave Poland and Germany, we will not stand in their way. We welcome your airliners to our airports.

------------------------------

President Blüme's Response to the World

I only issued the activation of our Intermediate Nuclear Forces within Germany as a response to the continued threat of constant invasion of the much greater number of North Germanian forces which have continued to build up on the border of Belarus since the beginning of the country's brutal occupation of of the unhappy nation. Since then we have only tried to be accomidating, however, it seems as though there is nothing we can do to solve this short of assuring the destruction of most of Europe and the involved countries.

Let me assure the world, we have never intended to be the aggressor in this situation, continued threats and propaganda from North Germania which have continued to imitate those of Adolf Hitler in Autumn of 1939 have once again prevailed as the world looks upon a less prepared military force threatened with destruction along with the citizens they were meant to protect. We refused to be bullied by North Germania and its thugs, however, we also do not wish to be responsible for the desruction of millions of lives. As such, I have called upon the deactivation of the Missile Brigades within Germany and once again returned Poland's defesive status to its peacetime numbers.

If this is not the sign that we do not want to fight then I feel sorry for the world and the leaders of nations who cannot tell they are being decieved by such a corrput individual.

Grodno

The 12th Infantry Brigade took up positions west of Grodno, approx. 10 kilometers from the border to Poland. The soldiers dug foxholes to have somewhere relatively safe to sleep at night. No-one knew how long they would stay there.

Brest

The 134th Combined Brigade also took up positions, but they fortified themselves outside the border city of Brest. Attack helicopters started to make patrols around the area, and recce parties were sent out to scout the border. It never hurt to be cautious.

Baranovitsji

The A-10s and AH-130Hs had relocated to Baranovitsji, a small town approx. 150 kilometers from the border. It was close enough for the planes to fly to, bomb the living daylights out of someone, fly a few hours of patrol, then return to safety.

And so forth. I will respond with a speech tomorrow but figured id post the first half of my reply tonight so y'all can read it.

IC:“Surely the leaders of the other nations would not swallow the garbage being spewed by the propaganda machine from North Germania as being fact?”

The Protector thought to herself as she sat in the briefing room. But that was just it seemed was happening, and it seemed that the whole continent was massing to invade her nation and that of Aequatio, and for what? The Aequatio were the victims of false raids and slanderous lies, and her own nation merely saw through those lies to realize the truth, that everything the Germanians have been saying is merely a cover for their continued invasion.

“Earlier this morning I approved the evacuation of foreign nationals from our soil with all haste. Most of these are bound to return to their homes in Pyschotika.” She stated quietly.

“I think we all know what that means, they are going to invade our nation and soon.” Her minister of state said coldly.

“Yes I agree with Markus, its only another sign of the impending invasion.” Stated Tara Androsova the lithe and raven haired general of the armies.

“General what is the status of your defensive operations?” The protector asked.

“The defense of the homeland has been dubbed “Phyrric Victory”, we will bleed the enemy dearly should they invade our lands. There is a platoon of light foot on each major road along the border, they are of course not expected to stop the enemy but to harass them as they make their way north. We are calling up the Home Guard as I speak, as for our regular units most of them are being deployed here in Riga and in Daugavpils. South of the Daugava river at Jelgava the 455th RCT the “Fusiliers” are digging in along with the 3rd Calvary Regiment. At Saldus the 45th Brigade of Light Foot is establishing defensive positions. And a company of engineers is setting charges on the bridge at Plavinas. Should the enemy invade they will be forced to cross at Daugavpils or Riga under our guns. At Daugavplis the 6th RCT along with the 442nd Engineers Co. and the 73rd Guards are digging in, any battle their will prove costly. The Protector’s Own is fortifying the city and the 4th Calvary Regiment is establishing a screen in the forest outside the city.” The general reported.

“In all honesty if they hit us with the numbers intelligence is telling me they are massing, we can’t stop them, but we can make them pay such a price for our soil that it will weaken them enough for our allies to be able to respond in kind.”

“That is all I can of any of you. Ill be issuing a statement to the world community again tomorrow morning, I thank you for your efforts on this important mission, the very survival of our country may be at stake.” The Protector said solemnly.

TO: ALL NATIONS BACKING NORTH GERMANIA

Should war break out we recommend using blitzkreig tactics heavily. Bomb the enemy from the air and from afar before committing ground troops. Drain their morale and their resources. Harass their supply lines and make them hurt. The Empire of Layarteb will have the North Sea fully closed and the English Channel closed for passage. Focus on the ground, we'll take care of the sea.

Cotland currently have 100 A-10s ready for comittment in addition to 8 brigades. We shall attempt blietzkrieg, although it is not Cottish doctrine (we usually dig in, pound them hard with artillery and planes, exhausting their troops, before sending troops in).

Stalemate is a bad option here. We recommend pure suppression. Make them crumble before ye.

To Leader of The WIck
From President Feldinchii

We have seen that you have allowed our Citizens to make due haste home. As you probably think, we are pulling out incase of a war to break out. Please keep in mind that we are only of a Defensive stance. The only thing I can really say, I guess, is that if war breaks out, I honor your will to defend your people and your country, though your forces may be small, but I can see why you are doing so. Well, nothing much to speak about.

Do you think that a few B-52Hs loaded with Mk82s will help? If so, I'll send them down when the shit hits the fan.

Indeed. Just be careful because the airways will get cluttered.

RE: Nuclear threat

We have received word of the activation of your nuclear forces and, quite simply, a nuclear strike towards North Germania or any of her allies will not be tolerated by myself or any Andrehervian in the world. As a result, I am forced to deploy 550 Scud-D tactical ballistic missiles, tipped with nuclear warheads, to the Ukrainian border. Also, 7 Geiste-1 ICBM silos are to be put on high alert to strike targets in your country should you press the button first.

Neither of us want this stand-off to turn red hot, but we WILL attack in the event of any strike made by your forces. Consider this a formal warning. Second chances aren't in our vocabulary.

Offical Statement by the Emperor

"We shall back North Germania and allies because most of them are a member of the Roman Confederacy. Here is a vague report on what troops we are putting on alert:"

700,000 Infantry
20,000 tanks
5,000 planes
600 ships
30 nuclear ICBM's
40 Chemical ICBM's
30 Biological ICBM's.

OOC: I made it vague because, unlike you guys, i don't believe in telling my enemy exactly how many and what kind of troops I have. It would be like superman telling all his enemies that his weakness was kryptonite.

Did I say that out loud?

Anyway, I'm sorry that this is late, but I've been tied with school recently.
