Hong Kong, DX (AP)- Today, it is confirmed that several top Federalist Party bosses, along with numerous Federalist Party memebers, have left the Party, citing President Lew's recent agreement ot a Non-Aggression Pact with the Mississippian Federation, economic slowdowns and Lew's slowness in dealing with the Real Anime Liberation Movement.

The defecting Party members have joined with the thrid-place Green Worker's Party, to form a new coalition called the "New Homeland Party."

Calling for a move to DuFourist Economics, an aggressive policy towards the Fabus Bloc and a variety of alternatively nationalistic and liberal policies, they have nominated a most unlikely canadiate for Preisdent: a 25 year old comic book artist and Socialist agitator named Yuri Iwata.

Speaking from a rostroum in the Hong Kong Convention Center, she said:

"We will not take this anymore. Lew has allowed the RALM to get away, he merely watched them, tracked their movements, but he didn't hunt them actively like he should have. Also, why did he sell out to the MS Federation!? WHY!? They are violent thugs! Also, we need a change in economic policy, ever since Lew outlawed outsourcing, the economy has gone down the tubes! We must unite and say, we're mad as Hell, and we're not gonna take anymore!"

Gordon Lew, in response, has said, "Those are lies, I have been actively dealing with the RALM for months now, suing National Police and the CIA to deal with them and to provide data to allies in Henrytopia and other hotspots. We also killed off the remnants of the Katsujen-ken/Aum Shinrikyo cult in Ottoman Azerbaijan. So don't say I am soft on terror."

In response, Lew has formed his own coalition, to be called the "Freedom Party," joining forces with the conservative Nationalist Party.

Experts have speculated that this will sow the seeds of a heated Presidential race, as both sides have begun actively recruiting members and voters.

"You ARE soft on terror, President Lew. How many Upper Xen troops have I seen fighting the RALM? 0. How many of your intelligence agents have aided the coalition against RALM? 0. How many RALM members have you killed? Again, the answer is 0. I will give my full support to Yuri Iwata until you clean up your act."-The Great Leader Li.

OOC: Done and done. BTW, what goes below, you can RP their actions.

IC:

Mr. Li, my National Police and CIA have been tracking their movements, we know about Kimiko's relationship with the RB Foreign Minister and the secret weapons project codenamed "Cardcaptor." We also provided aid to PIcaRDMPCia when it was first hit, using Xenizen Red Cross teams.

Anyway, to all those fighting the RALM, I am deploying Army Airmobile Cavalry units, CIA agent teams, and 15,000 SOG Infantry to help fight the menace. Evidently, intelligence gathering and waiting for the right moment isn't enough.

Tokyo, UX (AP)-

Today, Tokyo University was shut down, as student demonstrators calling for Gordon Lew's removal took to the streets, protesting his policies and showing support for Yuri Iwata. Though initially peaceful, the demonstration grew distruptive.

The students, accoridng to Asahi Shimbun, were then attacked by both Tokyo Metropolitan Police, and a mob of Pro-Lew vigilantes, most of them working at a construction site nearby. These "hard hats" caused at least 26 injuries, and police made several arrests.

Hong Kong, DX (AP)-

Today, the polls in Upper Xen, taken by NHK, show that the recent Kitakyushu Raid has helped President Lew in the polls, helping him perform an approval rating of 74%.

In addition, it is reported that many people in Upper Xen have applauded Lew's new stance on terror, though many feel he should have done this earlier.

Another poll by NHK shows that if the general election was held now, then the results would be 56% for Lew, 44% for Iwata. However, despite this rally by Lew, it seems Iwata is still gaining, as it is reported many in Japan are backing Iwata, and in the Steel Regions of Wuhan and Manchuria, it has become a statistical dead heat, as unions in both regions have alternatively mobilized for Lew and Iwata.
