MAP TROUBLE!

After Blacktower deserted Earth BC im here to revive it. If your an old member of Blacktowers Earth, welcome an all your old claims can be restored in 12 hours from now, all claims will have been wiped. Spain, United Kingdom, and Ireland cannot be reclaimed. I do need mods to help here with the events etc. Mods get 1 extra country. (you'll notice most of this text is from Blacktower's thread.)

So far as I know this is an origional Idea. I am creating an "Earth" that will be based in Ancient Roman Times. The Unit types are to be based upon troop types of that era, and depending on where your claims are on tha map determins what Kind of troops you can have (so be realistic. If you are based in England, you wont have Elephants lol) There are however some simple rules and Guidelines that are to be followed:

-Check the list of claims before you post by hitting Ctrl F, then typing in the countries name.
-All claims must be accepted by me.
-Any Claims outside of your origional claim must be done using RP. If I see "I claim Italy and moved my troops in" then It will be ignored. Also you must provide a link to the thread showing that this has happened.
-It's up to you to come here and check that you claims have been accepted and verified. I am only Human and Might miss one or two, so If I miss them just remind me and give me the link and I will check them

-Please keep claims resonable. Keep in mind that in Roman times, Armies did not conquer massive ammounts of land at a time. It was usually Cities and their surrounding areas, etc. So most of the time if you attack a country or region, you wont take it all over at once. You will claim for example, the south east section.

-All Earth BC RPs MUST HAVE (Earth BC) in their title, so that people can pick them out of the massive ammounts of Threads being created.

-Check out the threads tied to this one in the near future.

-One NS Nation only. You cannot make claims with a puppet or seperate account

-You cannot ignore an attack or action unless there is a very good reason. If you do ignore an attack and do not have good reason the attack WILL STILL BE RECOGNISED by me (at my discretion).

-Claims can be split in this earth. Say nation A and Nation B invade France but are allied they can agree on the border and run it by me.


Because civilization Populations were drastically smaller in Roman times then they are in the NS earth, the following equation will be use to figure out your population. You will take your Nations current population and divide it by 100. So it looks like this:

nation X has a population of 1,000,000,000. They divide by 100 and get 10,000,000. <---- That is there Population in Earth BC.

(Spain, United Kingdom, Ireland already been claimed by moi)

Below 300 Million 1 Country
Above 300 Million but below 1 billion 2 countries
Above 1 billion 3 Countries
Mods + 1 Claim



China and Russia are split into 4 claims.

China-Northwest, Southwest, Northeast, Southeast.

Also, I'm curious. Why are some countries names red and others blue?

He put it in some small font, but it reads.

Oh, I won't be hosting the Events thing, but I was wondering if I could claim China?

I am interested in a historically accurate Roman Age RP. I mean, i don't want the germans being too united, because they were a series of tribes, and i don't want any muslim sultans as there wern't any. Other that that, I will claim Rome and Italy. And i would be happy to Host a Events thread. That is, if i'm accepeted!

Also jsut like Britannia are a bunch of Tribes like the Germanians. While the Spanish well they're mediocre. My Army is ocmprised of Swordsmen Head Slingers Scythed Charriots and well i can remember them all. Good enough to defeat the Romans anyway.

Althoguh im not sure how descriptive people are gonna get, you know with the Praetorians, Legionary Cohort, Armored War Elephants etc. I know because i own Rome Total War, ill probally have the most fun out of this since i can play it on there.

Vineyard has Rome Total War, and he is a nut with that game. If you read the Earth V incidents thread, it has some posts about Vineyard and Rome Total War. There are a few other Total War players in Earth V, including The Greater Sixth Reich, Jonothana, and Doomingsland.

Unfortunately, I don't have that game, but I want to play the Vikings tribes, and craft an Viking Empire. I just LOVE alternate history. :D

Sounds like you need Medieval: Total War Viking Invasion. Or actually they're coming out with mods for RTW that make it like Medieval Total War, and i believe they're including the Vikings.

It sounds like you'r kinda new at the game. i have already beat countless campaigns, including several british and Roman ones. I am currently working on a spainish one.

Is that Semi-Penninsula that touches Turkey/Greece on the Greek side going to belong to Greece, Turkey, or is it it's own territory. Couldn't be too sure from the map

I thought you meant me, but my Arabs had no sultan and no navy.

I have a question.
Since for the most part these countries did not exist.
I assume we are using them as land reference.
For instance Vineyard is Italy--yet the Romans controlled far beyond Italy.
And so forth and so one with different tribal nations and powers.
Also Vineyard brought up a good point about tactics.
For instance I would use mostly light cavalry(the Bedouins which I is what I RP have been recognized horse breeders for three thousand years, and camel breeders for as long as their existance has been recorded.) As well their footmen were all light--they were primarily raiders and bandits--enough that the Egyptians went to the trouble to make a record of Victories against the Bedouin tribes when ever one occured. Seige is not beyond their battle tactics--but it would be done differently then Romans would lay siege.
The Bedouins had a massive navy--that was sarcasm--they had none that I can find a record of, So I wouldnt really RP my Bedouins sailing to assualt Cyprus, or even Socotra.
Tactics can be adjusted, you can unite your tribes under a commn greatl eader(like Ghengis, or Boru, or any other) but dont totally change the culture and style of the people--I mean what would be the point of picking them if you were going to be nothing like them. Remeber every culture had a means of war making and some unique technology. It is the populations that made a large difference--and look you dont get stuck with the REAL pop--you get you NS pop(adjusted of course.).
Anyway that is my two cents.

I think, if Vineyard doesnt mind, that any expert advice should be suggestions or voted upon--as in someone does smomething off the wall and Vine say "That wasnt really done--" yet the technology or whatever did exist for it to have been done(reasonbly) we should vote--Or mods should vote.
In order to this Earth be as fair as possible the Admin(for lack of a better term ) should make the mods like a senate, or Judicary panel. I study ancient history myself. Though I dont think I can be on as much as Vine, I would be willing to be an occasional "judge", or "expert" I hate that term. I mean we dont wnat peolple running hog wild, but we dont want to turn this in to a reinactment either.

Empires over lap, so a more accurate map of the ancient world would cause more problems then solve.
One can look up the history of a particular nation to find out what tech he is working with, that also stops Tech monopolies.
Unless the person manages to encompass the entire scope of his ancient empire before someone else does.
I say leave modern nations as borders, then you have to work towards an "Empire".
Also there should be a requirement for reasonble losses against Nonplayer territories. That way people who cant RP worth a bucket of Piss or godmodders who know they will be ignored cant go ape shit scooping up all he unclaimed land.

I managed to work my mom over and i can get an hour or so a day in on the PC on the weekends.

Also claims can be divided if an invasion occured. If a nation is invading unclaimed land it appears as Orange on their name showing its under invasion.

I have no idea how to do maps, but i think the map should be based on Rome: Total Realism maps. They are even more historically accurate.
