The legion missile is an innovative 4 stage missile designed to ignore modern anti-missile systems. The missile breaks apart in a preset pattern coded when firing that iniates right before maximum countermeasure range, and continues to do so through the window of time. A better mental image is thus: a wasp nest is throw at a target. at the begining of the window in which it might be shot down, it splits into 5 pieces. as it continues to approach the target, each piece splits into 5 a total of 3 more times, until there are 625 angry targets a critical range. in the case of the legion missile, these are slightly larger than hand grenades, but twice the yield. the majority strike the target a high velocity and detonate on impact, increasing damage.
it is particularly effective against aircraft carriers, destroying up to 75% of the top surface, making all runways and most aircraft unusable.
Also available is:
Legion 'Hellhive'-class Squadron Air Defense SAA missile.
The hellhive is an adaption of the Legion missile designed for taking out 3-5 enemy aircraft at once. the unit deploys the final stage in front of the enemy aircrafts in a pattern not unlike a horizontal circle with an effective diameter of 300 meters. the HE are linked by IR for proximity and impact triggers and are able to have high resolution thanks to cross refferencing. A large number will fall to the ocean and act as mines (they were already buoyant to keep them in the air longer.)
cost: $515,000
Production rights by request.
