Sigh. I need to spout.
Earth's. They're fine and dandy. I have nothing against someone creating a new Earth, but there eventually comes a point at which you have to say something. Yes?
Originally, I saw an Earth as something on which you claim land for your NS Nation. I thought is was a simple, and orderly system, by which to stake land claims. Earth I, II, III, IV, V, VI, DA, BC, Cold War, Pi. Fine. Whatever. A chance to place your nation onto something Geographic.
I myself am a part of Earth V. For a plane on which to duke out the Geographical assets of my Nation, I chose Earth V. Normally I'm all for the Multiverse, but when adjacent entities are wholly too close to one another, you must decide on a Plane on which to interact. Hence my choice for Earth V, even though Fod is based in Epsilon Eridani. The Multiverse works well in long distance interactions, or in Space, but not so much on the same River per se. [ Which is three miles wide, appears only when it rains, and full of knives. [/joke] ]
Now Earths are being created in which they are actually Games within NS. Such as BC, and the Cold War Earth, in which NS doesn't really apply. Nothing against this either. I'm all for Fun, so go for it.
However, This is a slippery slope for the namesake of RP.
When a single thread is created, titled "Earth[OMG] Incidents and Wars!" it will quickly become congested. It will get to the point where it's 120 pages long, gains 5 posts a second, and develops into a tedious manuscript of anything that ever happened. That's unnecessary. It's unhealthy. Go create an Invisionfree Forum for it.
RP itself degrades with the addition of so many Earths. The Board has become cluttered with Map Threads, Claim Threads, and News Threads, unfathomable in length and number. The already weakened RP atmosphere is further being corroded by this. One would rather make a single lined comment on a Map then take part in an RP.
Please. For the sake of RP, the CHILDRENOMG, and... Morality- Along with Muffins- Cut the Earth bit.
