Upon threat from the Roman Republic of Nuclear Attack :mad: , the NoARC is forced into R&D (research and development, if you're not aware of the term) of Nuclear warheads, ballistic missiles and cruise missiles. As the aggressor is a UN delegate, the NoARC appeals to the UN to enforce sanctions against this type of behavior. Further R&D will be necessary if the Roman Republic continues these actions. The Roman Republic's threats have forced the NoARC to conscript 60% of its combined nations' population totalling 76 million into uniformed service. 45.6 million troops, of which 40% of those in uniform are Navy, 35% are Air Force, 20% are Army, and 5% are Marine Corps. Further conscription measures are being taken into effect.

Let it be known that NoARC is at a state of Def Con 2 (Heightened alert) and the borders of the region have been closed off...and military patrols with dogs and automatic rifles have been stationed at the checkpoints along the borders.

OOC: Your national economy and civilian life will collapse in five...four...three...two...one...now. Almost two-thirds of the population? That is absurd. For Def-Con 2, with mandatory service, you could realisitically, maybe 10% of the population.

OOC: Friendly tip; if you took 60% of your population and put them into your armed forces, not only would you be removing pretty much everybody from work (bearing in mind some of your population will be the elderly or children), but you'd also be blowing pretty much all of your national budget for everything, not just defence, on buying them weapons.
I suppose if your nation was facing almost-certain defeat, then it's possible a government would conceive of doing such a thing, crippling your economy just because of a threat isn't particularly wise.
You may find that the threat is groundless, and although you are never attacked the resulting damage to your economy may as well have been caused by an invasion. Or you may find that by ultimately weakening yourself, you entice another nation into invading you.
Not to mention the fact that trying to command an army so enormous would be nigh-on impossible; a General's nightmare.
To put it into perspective; Bretonia has something like 890 million people living here. But I've only RPed her as having 2,850,000 signed up for active duty, and of those over a million are Techs, or logistical personnel.
In a time of emergency, I think you'd be infinitely wiser to stay below 10% (most people seem to hover at 2% for times of peace, so 5-7% would be good for an emergency). In the long run, it's less damaging to your nation, and you can command them a lot more efficiently than a vast number.
As a side-note, it's good that you're RPing the development of nuclear weapons.
I don't mean to insult you in any way, though, just offering some advice.

So they're still working at their regular work, just armed with weapons at their desk. We're a weird bunch. Our regular forces will number about 5-8% of the populace. With the inclusion of a 14th country, we now have a population of $81 million of which 5.67 million are regular forces, the rest are reserves and National Guard. And believe me, the little old ladies and men are armed too. They ain't defenceless. :D

To the honorable nation of NoARC:

We of the Empire of Dellaltya have been engaged in the active development and production of nuclear weaponry for 57 years to date. ('Massenzerstörung ~ Fünfzig-Vier Jahre Kernüberlegenheit' is the motto of our WMD division.) This year, it was discovered through our biannual nuclear inventory procedures that our secure warhead storage spaces are filled at 72% capacity. To ensure that our nuclear materials do not become targets for terrorists or anarchists, we have begun considering the sale of these weapons to friendly foreign powers who have need of them.

We currently have overstocked three main types of nuclear warheads/corresponding missiles:
Langestrecke VT-12 Missile ~ Primary ICBM; usually used for nukes.

Taktischer-Schlag TS-03 Field Weapon ~ 1 piece tactical nuke/missile.

Luftdetonation MT-14 Warhead ~ High-altitude burst nuclear warhead.
Please forgive our lack of specific details; as of yet no foreign power has seen our weapons schemata or test results, and to give away details such as even the tonnage quality of the warheads would be to 'show our hand,' so to speak.

We would gladly supply you with up to 5,000 Langestrecke missiles with corresponding Luftdetonation warheads at the price of $94,150,000 per missile/warhead unit. Please send a telegram to our military planning offices to signal your interest in this matter.

And a special session of the Allied Nations Congress will be convened on this charter. A motion 90% would have to be accepted for the deal to be ratified under legislation. We are a Mutual Aid Region and must go through this in order to democratically reach a decision that will affect our whole region.

And allows its citizens to relax a bit. The 8% regular forces are now back to a regular Def Con 4 standing. With the Alliance between the Dominion of Slinao and the arrival of the member The Empire of Terrianvorns, we feel that it behooves us to allow the reserve members to continue to stimulate our economy at their regular jobs.
