Holy Paradise

Holy Paradise's military was in reform. Thousands of experienced veterans were too old to continue to fight, so they had to retire. The military was forced to create a major recruitment ad campaign, which worked well, bringing in thousands upon thousands of young men, eager to serve their country. However, they were new....greenhorns who's only war experiences were that of video games or else no experience what so ever. New tanks, with tons of controls different from the old ones, had been made, and the new troops had trouble learning how to control them. It wasn't any better for the Navy or Air Force, as their new ships and jets were also hard to learn to control. This was bad, as the Air Force was forced to train them only by computerized programs, which had the same controls, but wouldn't cost money and lives to replace if the recruits crashed the planes. This wouldn't provide any experience however. The same went for the Navy. But things could only get better one day at the Presidental Office.
President Holtz was reading reports on military weaknesses and such. He slammed his fist down on the table, angry and worried, as any attack could scatter the military. Just then, Gen. Benjamin walked in. "Ah, Gen. Benjamin. At least you will be able to straighten up these greenhorns in the military." Holtz said.
"Actually, Mr. President, I'm here to announce my retirement." Benjamin replied. President Holtz almost choked on his coffee. "What?! But we need you!" He gasped.
"Mr. President, we have a great successor to me already. His name is Gen. Washington." Benjamin replied.
"Ah, yes, that's true. But he won't be the same as you." Holtz replied.
"Sir, this man is greater than me in tactician and strategic intellect. He will surely win you battles." Benjamin replied.
"I hope so. Call him in, aide." Holtz ordered. A nearby aide rushed out and soon came back with a young black man, about the age of 31. "Yes, Mr. President, sir?" Gen. Washington asked.
"General Tyler Washington of the Holy Paradise Army, in the light of today's retirement of General Benjamin of the Holy Paradise Armed Forces from his job, you are hereby promoted to the rank of General of the Holy Paradise Armed Forces." Holtz explained. He then asked Gen. Benjamin for his military hat, which he gave with solemnity. President Holtz then gave Gen. Benjamin a medal. On it read, "This medal recognizes this citizen led our forces in battle once. They are known for their leadership and intellect. May we always remember them." President Holtz and Gen. Benjamin gave each other one last salute, and then Gen. Benjamin left the room, and the mansion for the last time. President Holtz then looked at Gen. Washington. He presented him slowly with the General's Cap. Gen. Washington took off his hat and replaced it with the Cap. He then gave President Holtz a salute, which was returned quickly. "Well, General? What are you going to do about these problems?" Holtz asked. Gen. Washington smiled and said, "Mr. President, sir, I think I have the solution."
Over the next 5 weeks, the Holy Paradise military went under a massive training program, turning each greenhorn into a tough, fighting warrior. It was a huge bite out of the budget. But it would pay off in the future. Each soldier was faster, stronger, more accurate, more intellegent, and more strategic then any of the past military troops. They were ready for anything.
