Free Energy Project Proposal:
DGNT scientists began to research a number of micro-universes recently discovered by new multi-level scanners. Having accessed a 'barren' universe almost totaly devoid of matter and energy the scientists were studying the effects of total vaccume on small furry animals.
The project was started when one scientist accidentaly droped a shoe into the access door. The force generated by the escaping atmosphere hurled the shoe into the relativly small universe, where it crossed the boarder between one side and the other, striking the spacecraft and causing a large dent.
Curious, the scientist retrived a flask and filled it with a phosphorescent substance, dropped it into the access panel and moved the spacecraft aside. The bottle proceded to accelerate into the space, 'falling' rapidly from one side of the universe to the other, and coming back again. Three weeks later it is showing no signs of slowing.
The incident rapidly caused a stir in the DGNT energy community, who immidiatly clammoured for the program to be shut down. However, for once, the DGNT govornment supported the anti-buisness side and gave the program full funding.
The idea is that a power station can be constructed in such a micro universe, about one mile in diameter, and accelerated through a generator turbine. The power generated is free, but so far too little is generated to make much differnce, since a good deal of the turbines power is used to maintain the link between our Universe and the alternate mini-verse.
Another problem is the rapid slowing of the accelerated magnet, caused by its attraction to the turbines magnets, but this will hopefully be fixed when a proper acceleration device can be constructed, possibly involving electromagnets switched on and off at the correct intervals so as to provide ever increasing speed to the first magenet as it passess through the turbine.
In the spirit of international cooperation, Dontgonearthere has decided to open the program to other nations science corps, allowing contributions.
Any nation participating shall recieve FULL plans and production rights to all aspects of the new technology, as well as any discoveries.
(OOC note:
I know, I most likely got some of the electrical generation tech wrong, Im not a nuclear engineer :P
But I feel the general idea is sound, if you follow the theory that one end of the universe is the start of the other end, a sort of infinite loop.
Its a pretty neat idea even if it turns out to be unworkable.)
