Galactus Arrives
The Great Hunger is upon me, it has been too long, I must eat, I must regain my strength.
On the edge of the Galactic fringe darkness crept into the universe, an ancient menace, terrible and powerful, driven by the urge to feed.
My Silver Surfer, search out a world for me to find, hurry the urge is growing again.
As the vast throne ship sped past a desolate system, a small silver craft could be seen darting away. Faster and faster it flew until it burst through the light barrier and beyond. “The Hunger is ever growing, ever present in my master. Will there ever be a time when he is satisfied, will there ever be a world which he refuses, can Galactus ever show mercy upon those he feeds upon? No, impossible, Galactus is a monster, one which I am indebted to, I have no choice but to do his bidding, I am and forever more shall be the Silver Surfer. My world, saved by my sacrifice, how long will it be before I wish the escape of death. How long will it be until I find my parting from those I love an eternal torture? Galactus has gained a servant, I have gained an eternal torture…”
Slowing now to a crawl, the surfer emerged into a system. Ships moved freely in a grand trade line of resources and profit, while military vessels orbited vast stations of defence. Indeed this world would do well for my master, the Hunger will soon be satisfied, at least for a short while.
Turning in a majestic arc the surfer sped away at speed, moving his hands into an arc he prepared to signal Galactus, until he was beset upon attacking craft.
