Today DGNT has released the new GC-11 MKIV (AS-4) onto the market, a new assault rifle designed specificaly for use by small countries looking to supply lots of fire power for a small price.
The basic concept is cheapness, with a good amount of durability and ease of use, since it is generaly thought that nations which will be purchasing this rifle arent going to be using well developed and highly trained forces.

The GC-11 MkIV is mostly made of moulded plastic, with a barrel of mid-quality steel. Its main function is to spray bullets in the general direction its pointed, although it is quite acurrate on the first shot.
Again, since it is usualy assumed the rifle will be in use by unskilled combatants the design left out many 'optional features', without sacrificing performance or durability. While the rifle has space for such additions they are not included in the price.
The round is effective against most forms of body armour at 100 yards, generaly armour considered 'medium' will fail at 200-250 yards.
The desing accentuates the tendancy for rounds to 'tumble', shredding whatever gets in their way.
Currently experiments are being carried out on AP rounds which shatter on impact.

excuse me? an AP round that shatters on impact? how exactly is this AP, a round that shatters on impact is the antithesis of a round that penetrates armor (the general meaning of AP when discussing weapons) unless you have a more profound understanding of the basic laws of the universe than I (doubtful) then I must say it is impossible.

BTW mid quality steel on a bullet hose? the barrel will wear out after a few clips, I wouldn't sell these to terrorists.

AP = Anti Personel, meaning its designed to kill soft targets, IE: People. A round that shatters on impact would most definitly NOT designed to penetrate armour. I should have been a bit more clear on that, apologies for any confusion :)
Generaly this sort of weapon is sold under the assumption that the soldier using it wont be using it more than a few times.

((OOC: Hmmm. I could make poor people fight each other...))

The Empire would be interested in purchasing 12,000 GLACORP Mark Four Assault Rifles. The total should come to G1,800,000. Funds to be wired upon confirmation of order.

OOC: Don't you think your range is incorrect? I mean a 5.45mm round, with an 18 inch barrel could have an effective range of say around 400 to 500 yards. Of course unless you're using some new technology.

I am interested in purchasing a large number of the GC-11 MKIV, but am unaware of what a reasonable amount of money a new country (5 million population), with a thriving economy would have. If you would be so kind as to inform me of a reasonable military budget, I would gladly decide how many I would like to purchase.

OOC:
Sshhh, its our super-secret gunpowder recipe :P
Anyway, its a pretty long round, almost a full sized rifle.
I admit...its a bit long. I shall fix it.

^BUdget calculator. It wont work if theres more than 250 people in your region though.

It depends on your nations level of militarism. Your military should be uber %5 of your population, and thats if your an ultra-military oriented dictatorship. DGNT maintains %2.5 during wartime, and most of thats conscript militia.

Well, seeing as my budget is $20,437.64, I will be unable to sign any large military contracts, and will end up settling for the cheapest AK-47's I can find.

I am however curious to how I will raise the National Budget, since my country has a tax collection of 0%. My economy is thriving, and supposedly has powerful industrys fueling the country, so how do I raise the government income?

This gun is cheaper than most AK's out there :)

I would advise carefully reading issues and picking the option that looks like it will cost the least.

After looking around, it seems that most countrys GDP are not usually over $25,000. Even the countries with populations in the high hundreds of millions would be unable to purchase any large number of weapons.

I am lead to believe that there must be some mistake, for according to the GDP Per Capita displayed, I would only be able to purchase 136 of the GC-11 MKIV, and that is assuming I want to spend a entire years worth of income on a insignificant number of weapons. Can you offer me any insight on what I seem to be doing wrong?

OOC:
OOOHHHHH, GDP per Capita is the average amount of money a middle class person in your nation would make. Your govornments budget should be between the ten and hundred billions.
Your military budget is here:
Defence: $1,541,920,536.00 17%

With your overall budget at:
$102,188,182,107.92

:)
