"...fought as a young man in algeria. I fought to keep Algeria a part of France, and was wounded. We won that war, and I felt justified. But then De Gualle allowed Algeria to leave the empire.

De gualle is no longer in power. President d'Estaing agree's with me, as does the powers of Algeria. By the power vested in me by the French National Assembly, Algeria is one with France! On this note... France shall be sending in 50,000 troops, to help train our algerian brothers in military tactics, to bolster Algerian defense, and to help against any possible rebels of the old party of algeria.

Laos and Cambodia are stubborn, however. They persist on being alone, even though they have horrible governments. They let the Vietcong move through their nations. They are killing their own people through negligance. This must be stopped.

7 French fleets, including five carriers, are situated in attack position under Cambodia. As of this message, war is declared on the nations of Cambodia and Laos. We hope our american allies support us in this affair, but are not asking for help. We will rebuild this section of the empire, to ensure stability in South-east asia."

"Alle! Alle! Vite vite vite!"

12 Super etendards flew off of the FNS Clemenceau, carrying parachute-dropped bombs, rockets, and two missiles for AA fighting. The Cambodian navy had already been obliterated. The tiny cambodian airforce could not hope to beat the French Super Etendards. Once main Cambodian facilities were destroyed(those not already destroyed by american bombings), french mechanized and armoured divisions would come in.

OOC: I dont really want anyone to go over war for this, these lands are already given to me... If you want to train rebels, condemn us, congratulate us, or anything like that, thats fine.

OCC: Given to you by Who?
Northern Empire

OCC: Given to you by Who?

OOC: This is Cold war earth, hence the (CWE) part.

This is the answer to northern empire as well.

IC: French troops had landed already. Cambodian resistance was very low, as Frenchmen mowed down the cambodian resisters with brutality. Artillery and bombs rained down on any city with more than 10.000 inhabitants, while any smaller one recieves mortars and machinegun fire. AMX's were ordered to shoot any non frenchman in uniform that held weapons, and they made good use of their AAT-52's.

Already, 80.000 had landed. More were coming, but most of the troops already were mechanized or armoured, so the number was much stronger than it seemed. Helicopters began flying special ops into northern cambodia/southern laos, to destroy railroads, or assassinate any government officials. 356 C-160's had been taken out of France for preparations of jumping, being flown from France to Algeria, to Cambodia(Carrying only fuel and going one way).

Cambodia was a wasteland. It was going extremely well, but France wouldnt take chances. Thats why an SSBN stayed in the gulf of thailand, submerged, in international waters.

Congratulations for cleaning out Cambodia and Laos. Finally, those VC s won't get into our lands, and that damn Prince Shinanouk has been taught a lesson.

Just one thing: stay in Cambodia and Laos. Any designs you have on us are unwelcome, De Gaulle.

OOC: Not warmongering, but considering the French are moving back in, he has reason to be nervous....

"De gualle is no longer in power, and good riddence. He let our brothers leave us. We have no ambition for Vietnam, for now. But the military was made to fight, and we have a grand military. Just remember that, and we can stay friendly."

President d'Estaing

OOC: Its all good. I would rather have vietnam independant, for better RP's.

Agreed. Let us remain aware. And we are still grateful about how you cleaned out those VC, and the hateful Khmer Rouge.

President Nixon had authorized the deployment of a single carrier battle group to provide limited support to the French. American "advisors" were still operating in Vietnam, but in more limited numbers, but unofficialy, of course. The last thing the American people wanted was redeployment to Vietnam. The advisors would coordinate American air support with the French and ARVN forces. The pilots providing air support were strictly volunteers, and the aircraft had no American markings. Vietnam would be used as a testing ground for newer aircraft and missiles.

On the bridge of the USS America stood Admiral Jim Roberts, watching F4s and A6s shoot off of the decks, carrying their fills of napalm and cluster munitions. A wing of F14s was also based aboard the ships, but they were there for testing. They also had a number of AIM-54 Phoenix missiles, also for testing.

We will recognize the return of Laos and Cambodia to the French nation. If possible, we wonder if we can help station units in the area to aid you in pacifying the Pathet Lao and any other forces.

We also have found that some of our old soldiers that fled after the usurper Mao took command are still in Laos...we would like to repatriate them.

SECRET IC to Chellis from now on:

Will you also be willing to support an Invasion of North Vietnam?

Chaing Kai-Shek

Unified Republic of China

OOC: This is true, about the Nationalist troopers in exile in Laos and other parts of SE Asia, they left after Mao took power and later became drug lords.

Secret IC to Upper Xen:

What would we get for support?

------

No declaration of war was given this time. Super Etendards, over 300 of them, supported over 200 C-160's. They crossed the borders at high altitudes. They scouted the ground with radar, and would pounce on anyone in the tiny Laotian aircraft.

12 of the C-160's dropped 2 BLU-82's each on a landing zone, in a heavily forested area of Laos. The rest of the C-160's were dropping either men or supplies, unloading the full 16,000 man 12th airbourne, and ammunition to last them. They were given the order to kill on sight anyone not in a french uniform. They landed with few problems, after the BLU-82's cleared a large area. They would, hopefully, destroy anyone that tried to attack them. If no one did, they would bring in artillery and mortars, and destroy the enemy from the inside. Night-vision + Bullpups = destruction.

SECRET IC:

How does access to our bases in China and South Vietnam sound? We will also share our most recent technologies with you, like our secretly developed coal-to-oil technology and the F-15RC Iron Phoenix, our local version of the F-15. We feel France would benefit from this immensely.

We also would be willing to open into a full trade pact with France, and any other conditions you would be willing to stipulate, you may request.
